A/N: AND WE'RE BAAACK!

This story, and lots of my other stories, went on a stupid hiatus for a while. But we're back now! Updates will still not be frequent, but I will be updating at least.

(Also for Fairy Tail Facebook fans: THE FIC GOT DELETED DAMMIT. I'm going to start uploading chapters on my tumblr now. My username is currently the-real-ilaughatyouall. I'm planning on changing my url later, though. I'll update this page if I do. :))

Dear Diary,

I would like to conclude that things have calmed down considerably. I'm sooooo sorry I haven't written in two months! I'm almost 14 now. Okay, well maybe it's in 1 month, but still. I'm gonna plan a super awesome party. EVERYONE is gonna be invited... but not Simon. Lemme see, here's a list of people so I can make the invites...

Karis

Jace & Sid (just for formalities. They probably won't show up anyway.)

Connie

Sora

Kylie

Lila

Monica

I think they'll all want some sort of huge party, but I'm thinking I'll just surprise them with a hot springs trip! It's gonna be so fun. I think I can get my mom to help me with the invitations, though she's busy with her novels a lot of the time so I'm not sure…

"Hey, Mom?!" Layla called from her room. She was at her desk, with tons of colored paper and ribbons and calligraphy pens.

"Yeah, sweetie? What do you need?" was her mother's reply. From the sound of it... she was in the kitchen.

"Can I have some help with something?"

"Sure!" She could hear her mom's footsteps getting louder as she came closer to her room. Layla smiled to herself. She couldn't wait for her mom to help. She was renowned for her artistic talent that she'd learned from an 'old friend'.

Her mom entered her room, her long blond hair tied up in a ponytail and she was wearing her cooking outfit. Yes, she had different outfits for housework. It usually confused Layla, because it seemed that her mother had an outfit for everything. Apparently it was because her celestial spirit, Virgo, got her wayyyy too many outfits.

"What is it?" she asked, walking across the room to her daughter and slinging an arm over her desk chair. "Making cards?"

"Uh huh. I was wondering if you could help... I need inspiration," Layla explained. Lucy contemplated this for a moment, tapping on the table.

"I always used to get inspiration for my novel by talking with your dad," she said, smiling.

"What? Really?" Layla gasped. The concept seemed crazy. "Does it work for anything? Will it work for the cards? I don't think talking to Dad is going to help anything..."

"Well do you have any friends that are boys? You could, uh, go talk to them?"

Layla thought about this for a second. She knew one in particular... but she also knew another one that she would much rather talk to. "Yeah."

"So... who is it?"

"Um, his name is Sora."

"Oh! Is that Gray and Juvia's boy? I remember when he was born..."

"Uh, yeah. Sora Fullbuster. Anyway, I'll go talk to him then." She was blushing, ever so slightly.

Lucy smiled. "Huhhh," she muttered mysteriously, tapping her chin. Layla adopted a defensive, rigid position. No way in hell was she telling her mother about Sora.

"Do you, by any chance, have a crush on this Sora?..."

"NO."

"Ah, okay, calm down. I wasn't being really serious," her mother joked. Layla exhaled. Safe.

"Anyway, I'm gonna go then. See you later mom!"

"See you later, sweetie."

Layla was walking down her street, up toward the Fullbuster's house. She knew Sora was home. He was always home at this time. At least, he always said he was.

"He's not at his house."

"OH MY GOD STOP SNEAKING UP ON ME!"

Layla whirled around and stuck a fist out, hoping to catch her stalker. Simon ducked and avoided the blow. She did catch a little of his hair, but like hell that was hurting him.

"I got your hair!" she cried anyway, revelling in her small victory. Simon straightened and began clapping slowly as he backed away. She growled.

"Then where is he?" she asked suddenly, disregarding his offense of stalking her for the moment in light of her need for the information.

"He's with Karis."

"WHAT?! WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT EXACTLY?!"

"I just saw them over at the park earlier. They were discussing something."

"..."

"What's up with you today anyway?"

"What are they talking about?!"

"Answer my question first." His grin was cheesy and teasing. She fumed, smoke rising out of her ears.

"I-uh, need to talk to someone," she explained lamely, shifting nervously.

"Huh," he stroked his chin, scrunching his eyebrows together, "Well I'm a someone. Why can't you talk to me?"

"Because you're annoying and I want to kill you but I can't because our parents are friends."

"Ah, okay. I don't think you could kill me if you tried, though."

"OH REALLY?!"

"Yeah, try me." His smirk was too much to not punch through a wall. She yelled, enraged, as her fist burst into orange flames. "I will literally burn your lungs out!" she cried.

His smirk didn't waver. She punched, a flaming arc curving through the air and consuming oxygen and emitting black smoke that ran up her arm. Her fist met his face and… nothing?! The image of his face shimmered and disappeared. Suddenly the sky darkened and she heard low laughing all around her, filling her ears with the sound of Simon's voice.

"Simon!" she yelled, panic evident in her voice, "What the hell is this?!"

"It's just an illusion…"

"What?!"

She blinked and she was standing before Simon again, the sky was bright, and he was still standing like he had been moments before. She gaped.

"How did you…"

"I've been practicing and I wanted to show you," he said, grinning. He seemed, genuine, which was a big change for her. Part of her was suspicious that he was tricking her again. She dismissed the thought. He wouldn't do that.

"Th-that's really cool!" she said, ecstatic. It really was a cool magic. She was a little jealous. Her magic was only good for destroying things. His actually built something, even if it wasn't real.

"And look at your arm."

She gasped. The usually black soot that covered her arm glittered with colors. It was… beautiful. She felt the need to take a picture of this moment and use it as blackmail later but decided against it. Suddenly, she had a thought.

"Kay thanks bye!" she said, running toward her house. She knew exactly what her theme for her party was going to be. She was also going to add Simon on to her invite list.
