Chapter 7: Kiri Civil War

A/N: Heya guys I told ya'll that I would be back to updating didn't I? So yeah this story has been very popularly requested to be updated in the past. Poor thing only got a few chapters but it kinda exploded in reads. My first story took a little bit to get going in popularity and reads but this one was instant. Maybe because of the first one doing so well. I don't know but anyway you guys don't care about that so I'll just take it away and shut up. Enjoy!

P.S. Messed some things up so came back to edit the mistakes. Basically it's just that Orochimaru is good not evil in this it's Tsunade that's evil so re read if ya want byee!

Shino and Hinata are on their way to Kiri to follow their orders from Naruto. They walk disguised as civilians at civilian pace along the main road. They had gotten to the island with the help of a local fisherman in Wave country. The leader of Wave Tazuna was more than happy to find help for them from the last time they were there.

They arrived at the edge of the village and surveyed it Hinata with her byakugan and Shino with the use of his bugs spreading out and sending him back signals.

Hinata spotted two small groups fighting on the outside of town. One side looked professional like Kiri military and the other was worn easily identifying them as the rebels.

Hinata pointed this out to Shino and they decided to wait and watch what happens. Hinata sat watching the battle when she picked up on an unusual chakra signature down there. "Shino do your bugs sense what my eyes are seeing?" Hinata asked a little worried. Most chakra to her eyes appeared blue for normal people. Down below though she saw traces of red chakra scattered about the battle.

"Yes, red chakra. My bugs tell me that it is similar to the chakra Naruto-sensei used during the assault on Konoha. It is most certainly demon chakra," Shino assessed listening to his bugs' report.

"If you're right then this is bad. That would mean another jinchuuriki is here. Question is who? The tailed beast associated with Kiri went missing years ago. So, who could it be? Someone supporting one the factions would have to be powerful," Hinata questioned.

"Another question is are they a friend or foe of Konoha?" Shino stated. "We need to get closer and find out," Hinata decided. "Yes, I was thinking the same thing. This could decide for Konoha who to support," Shino agreed.

They dispelled their civilian disguises and headed to a closer vantage point to better witness the battle. When they got close, they could tell clearly who was winning and knew almost instantly who the jinchuuriki was. And it wasn't good.

"Oh shit that's Tsunade's daughter Raven. She's the container of the Sanbi. She's demolishing the rebels. I believe our decision has been made. Let's retreat and contact sensei. I want to help but we aren't strong enough to do anything they'll have to help themselves for now," Hinata whispered.

Shino agreed, and they retreated out of the village to their original hiding spot and brought out the kunai to summon Naruto. He appeared in his usual golden flash in his Hokage gear with a serious expression on his face. "You've run into trouble I assume. Explain the situation," Naruto ordered.

"Lord Hokage the Kiri government has the backing of Tsunade. Her daughter is down there tearing up the rebels with her demon cloak," Hinata informed him. "Hmm. The situation is worse than I thought. Obviously since such a grave enemy of our village supports the current regime, we shall support the rebels. But from the sound of this they need our help now and can't wait for our army to mobilize. Therefore, I am upgrading this to an S-class mission and I will bring two more chuunin and a jonin to assist. Wait here for just a moment," Naruto stated then vanished using the Hiraishin again.

Naruto reappeared ten minutes later with three people they easily recognized. He had brought Kiba, Shikamaru, and Kakashi with. He handed a sealed letter to Hinata with instructions, "This is a letter stating my greetings and formal pledge of support. Deliver this to the leader of the rebels and aid them in any way needed. This is a mission that we cannot fail so you five must perform to the very best. I have the upmost faith in you. Kiba, Shino, Hinata, you three show amazing promise to be some the greatest shinobi of our time. Kakashi and Shikamaru you were two of my best operatives in the stealth force. I know you will succeed."

"Hai Hokage-sama we will no fail," they all said in unison. Naruto nodded then vanished back to his office. "Man, it is really easy to forget he's our age ya know?" Kiba said incredulous. "Yes, leadership has always suited Naruto well. He was the best commander I ever served under," Shikamaru agreed. Kakashi nodded along in agreement.

"So, shall we go meet Konoha's new allies?" Hinata said then started walking towards where they had spotted the rebels to be camped. When they got close, they were stopped by two guards. "Halt! Stop and state your business!" the guard on the left shouted.

"We were sent by the Hokage of Konohagakure. We are here to deliver a message to your leader and aid in the fight in any way we can," Kakashi stated. The guards relaxed slightly at this. "Alright follow me I'll take you to her. But don't try anything funny," the guard on the right said suspiciously.

He led them through the camp to the center where a big command looking tent was situated. He knocked on a post outside and soft lilting voice inside answered with, "Enter." The guard held the flap aside and the party entered the guard standing watch outside.

In the center of the tent was a big table with a map of Kiri on it with troop movements and other figures marking things for war. On the other side of the table was a big chair and in it sat a very beautiful woman. She was slightly tall and had long, flowing, vibrant red hair in a top bun that fell well past her shoulders. She looked the very essence of a leader and the Konoha nins could tell she held power.

"Judging by your headbands you are from Konoha. What does Konoha want with a bunch of rebels? I am Mei Terumi by the way leader of these people," Mei stated. "We come with greetings from the Godaime Hokage and a message to you," Hinata said stepping forward and handing the message to her.

Mei took the message and broke the seal. She read through Naruto's message once then read it again. Once it had sunk in, she visibly relaxed. "I see so Konoha has chosen to back us in this fight. That is good. It has not gone well for us these past few battles. There is this woman she seems to have a tailed beast and she supports the other side. Are you confident that one of you will be able to take down a jinchuuriki?" Mei asked skeptically.

"Well I'm pretty famous. Kakashi Hatake the Copy Cat Nin. My friend here is Shikamaru Nara a member of Anbu special forces. And these three are the Hokage's personally trained squad. And the boy with the triangles there Kiba Inuzuka has his own special tenant. So yes I am confident that we can handle her and the other Kiri officials," Kakashi said.

"Good then let's get to work planning our next assault," Mei said smiling a big smile of relief. "We've got a war to win," Kiba said.
