The next day I met the Hatter and his wife, Alice. I didn't think anything was amiss until later, when Peter told me that Alice had been his first love. That made the whole affair awkward if I thought about it.
I had just eaten breakfast with Peter when the Hatter and Alice appeared in the garden. I couldn't help but stare at the two of them. They were stunningly beautiful together.
The queen looked up at the two of them. "Hello Hatter, Alice," she said smiling. "What brings you two here?" She asked.
"I have to discuss something with you Vivaldi," the hatter stated.
The queen nodded and then I saw Alice had caught sight of me. She smiled and said, "Who's your pretty friend Peter?"
Peter laughed, "She's more than my friend Alice."
"Oh?" She said laughing.
"Yes, we're going out. My name is Elisa," I responded.
Alice smiled, "I'm glad Peter's found someone he connects with." To Peter she said, "I'm sorry I broke your heart Peter. You just weren't the right guy for me. I hope you don't hold a grudge against me for it."
Peter looked to be over it. He waved a hand her way, "Don't worry about it. I finally understand what it's like to have someone who loves you as much as you love them." He looked at me then, his face beaming with pride.
I blushed pink and the Hatter and Alice laughed.
Later that day when Peter and I were alone in the sanctuary of the library I said, "So that was Alice. She's pretty."
Peter gazed at me with what could only be befuddlement. "Yes, but she isn't as pretty as you."
I laughed softly, "Thanks baby. You aren't still hung up on her are you?"
Peter shook his head, "Why would you think I still was? You're all I see and want now."
I smiled at him and giggled. Peter was being undeniably sweet. I grabbed a book that's title said, "Dreams or Reality? Which one do you prefer?" Frowning I leafed through the book.
Peter looked over at me as I did this and replied, "What are you reading?"I glanced at him and responded, "It's about dreams. What do you think about them? I personally think they are a reality. A different one than the real world though."
"Well I've always loved dreams I felt that they were messages from our subconscious telling us our deepest desires and worst fears."
I smiled at him, "Yeah I think they are windows to our hearts."
Peter nodded, "You're so insightful."
I laughed, "You think so?"
"I do," he stated. Peter glanced out the open window, watching something I didn't see. I gazed at him, a smile tugging at the corners of my mouth. The way he was sitting with his legs crossed and his body contorted towards the window stirred something in me. He looked so peaceful, gazing outside in such a wistful manner. The light from the window flooded in giving the dusty library a golden glow. It looked magical and it made Peter look unreal. I gave a grin in his direction when he turned his body around. He just smiled back oblivious to the way my heart was pounding a million miles an hour.
Peter White's P.O.V.
The queen invited Elisa and me to watch her play Tennis against her brother, Blood. I gladly accepted the invitation. When I told Elisa she looked surprised but she was thrilled none the less.
"What other sports do you guys play here?" She asked me, her voice sincere.
"We play several other sports, like soccer, hunting, swimming and more," I replied to her question.
She cocked her head and got a grin on her face, "Swimming you say?" She looked mischievous and then responded, "You wouldn't mind going swimming with me sometime would you?"
"No problem princess, if that's what you want," I said my eyes twinkling with delight.
Elisa giggled and clapped her hands in glee. She leaned into me and snuggled against me. I let out a small sigh and enjoyed the closeness of her.
Vivaldi served the ball and Blood ran after it. He hit it, making it soar high into the air before falling back to the earth. Vivaldi raced after it, and smacked it back to Blood. It went flying back to him. He hit it back, and she returned it. The match went like this for a while until Blood got sloppy and missed hitting the ball one turn. Vivaldi laughed and Blood growled at her. It was a sibling rivalry that was for sure. Half the time Elisa kept her eyes on the match but the other half they wandered to me when she thought I wasn't looking. I knew she was staring though, because I saw it out of the corner of my eye.
The score ended up being 4 to 3. Vivaldi had won leaving Blood a bit bitter. He shrugged it off though and shook hands with his sister. They embraced and Blood went over to Alice. They chatted for a little bit then they both left.
Vivaldi came up to us, "what did you think of the match?"
"It was fun to match," I replied.
"I agree," Elisa said smiling.
Vivaldi laughed and ran a hand through her dark purple hair, "I'm glad. If you want I'll invite you to other matches in the future."
I nodded, "I'd love to attend them."
"Me too," Elisa responded sweetly.
"Perfect!" Vivaldi said clapping her hands. She walked past us and went back into the castle.
We got up and left as well. Once inside the castle we went walking around, just talking. It was nice and filled me up with happiness. I had never felt as happy as I had without Elisa. She was remarkable, making me into a better man. I loved her so much and I knew she did too but I wondered why I was the only one who ever expressed my feelings.
"Elisa," I said and she stopped talking.
"Yes?" She asked me oblivious.
"Why do you never tell me you love me? I know you do but you don't ever express it." My ears drooped and my body slumped.
Elisa's eyes widened and her mouth turned into a small o. She sighed and ran a hand through her hair, "I'm sorry if I don't always express it honey. You know I love you."
I nodded, "I know you do. I just wish you would say it more."
She smiled sadly, "I will. I promise you that Peter White."
The next day when I woke up Elisa leaned over and said in a happy little voice, "Good morning Peter!" She smiled fondly at me, a blush creeping up in her face when I smiled earnestly back. "Good morning darling," I said softly.
Elisa grinned and replied, "I love you."
I blinked and laughed, "I love you too sweetie."
This eased Elisa up and she scooted over closer to me.
I wrapped an arm around her and she snuggled against me sighing in contentment. We stayed like that for a good ten minutes before we both separated and got up to seize the day.
Sometimes life throws you pleasant surprises that you never thought you deserved. I felt like life had thrown me the best surprise of all, because Elisa was sweet, kind and beautiful. I loved everything about the woman. She made me forget all about Alice and I realized something. If Alice had never broken my heart, I would have never known about Elisa. It's funny how life works.
"What would you like to do today, baby?" I asked Elisa as I gazed into her beautiful eyes.
She gulped and said, "I would like to kiss you Peter."
I chuckled, "Your wish is my command."
I leaned into her and our lips met in the middle. She pulled me into her and as we kissed I heard her emit the most beautiful sounds. She sounded like a purring kitten. I poked my tongue against her mouth and she opened up, letting me inside. Our tongues danced against each other's and then she made an even more wonderful sound. I don't know if she had meant to or not, but she let out a soft, shuddering moan. It sent shivers down my spine and sent blood flowing everywhere. She then stopped kissing me and I stared at her quizzically. She smiled and then sat in my lap. I felt my face flush. Her legs wrapped around my waist and she grabbed my white locks gently towards her for another kiss. She kissed me with a passion and fury I had never felt before. I shuddered and to my embarrassment I let out a low, quivering moan. After more passionate kissing she broke away and her eyes twinkled.
"Did you enjoy that Peter?"
I nodded, "It was hot."
She laughed so sweetly and said, "I thought so too."
Elisa stroked my hair gently and I shivered, enjoying it. "Peter, can I ask you something?"
I looked at my love then, "Of course darling. What is it?"
Elisa's eyes looked a little downcast. "Sweetie, tell me?"
She took a deep breath then and said, "It's just that I love you and I don't want to leave Wonderland."
I grinned, "You don't have to."
She frowned, "But I thought I was here for a limited amount of time?"
"Yes, but once you make the choice to stay here, you don't have to ever leave," I explained.
The joy that radiated from Elisa's eyes set my heart ablaze. She was so thrilled and relieved at the news, I could tell.
"Oh thank god! I could never go back without you Peter!"
"Do you really mean that Elisa?"
She nodded, "I do and it's because I love you with all my heart!"
I smiled and felt teary eyed. "Oh Elisa you've just made me the happiest man in Wonderland!"
She giggled and I will never forget that beautiful laugh.
