AN- Hey guys I'm so sorry for the long wait. I'll put an AN at the end of the chapter so you can read this but please enjoy and review! This is Darcy's POV during a little bit of Pies and Prejudice. Enjoy!

Darcy's POV-

I can hear Emma laughing with someone as I walk up the pathway to Ivy Cottage. The other persons laugh sounds so familiar but I can't quite put my finger on it. I guess I'll figure out soon enough...

"GO RED SOX!" Toby screeches as I walk into the kitchen. And then I realize why that laugh sounded so familar.

"Jess!" I cry, that's what I was forgetting! Everyone from Concord was arriving today.

"Hey, Darcy," she answers. Gosh I didn't realize how much I have missed seeing Jess. She was like my second sister growing up, and spending this year away made me begin to realize how much she means to me.

"I'd give you a hug but I smell terrible," I tell her cheerfully, I just came back from a football game which we won 5-0. "It's so great that you're here! How was your flight?"

"Fine."

"Emma's really been looking forward to your visit." I was going to add that I've been to, but that might make it awkward.

"Me too," she answers.

"Mom says to hurry up and take a shower. Dad's going to drive over and pick everybody up and we're going to go to dinner in a little while." I'd almost forgot Emma was there, I'd been too focused on seeing Jess again. But the sooner I have that shower the sooner I can see Jess and everyone else again.

"Okay. Good to see you, Jess," as I walk by I tug her braid like I've been doing since we were kids. Lately whenever I think of Jess I get this weird feeling, I've never had anything like it before. It's weird, girls have been liked me since I was in kindergarten but I never really cared. I can't help but wonder what Jess thinks of me though.

-Time Lapse-

We walk to the restaurant and place off orders. Jess, Emma and I all get fish and chips.

"Careful, they're addictive," I warn Jess smiling at her. During dinner Jess and Emma and I catch up. Jess tells us the latest Concord news and Emma tells her some stories from England. Jess tells us about a fox she's taking care of named Lydia. What she's doing sounds really neat, and totally up her alley. She seems a little unsure about it but Emma and I encourage her to get her rehabilitators license once she's old enough.

I can't believe when we go back to Concord I'll be a senior. Thinking about it makes me think of Cassidy's sister, Courtney. I throw a chip over at her and ask her how her sisters doing. I hung out with her and Kyle a few times, she was pretty cool. When I ask Cassidy about her, I see Jess start staring at her dinner. That seems a bit weird...

Before I can think anymore about it Cassidy answers, "I went out to visit her a couple of weeks ago. We had a blast. UCLA is huge, but it's pretty cool. I got to meet her boyfriend, too."

Cassidy goes back to talking with Stanley about something and I turn back to Emma and Jess. "I think I probably want to go someplace a little closer to home. Dartmouth, maybe, if my grades are good enough." Jess smiles at me, and it makes me feel really good inside. I know my grades are pretty good, but Dartmouth has really high standards so I'm still kind of nervous.

After we finish eating cake and toasting to Mrs. Bergson, my mom bring out some flashlights for the walk back to the hotel, "I don't have enough for everyone, so you'll have to share."

Everyone starts splitting off into groups and I run and grab a flashlight from my mom. Maybe I can walk with Jess if she isn't watching with the girls. It'd be nice to get to talk with her alone instead of with all the other girls around. I see that she's alone so go over to her before anyone else can ask her to walk with them.

"Want to walk with me?" She nods at me and smiles. Gosh I missed seeing that gorgeous smile. I try to make some small talk. "It's pretty amazing here, isn't it?"

She nods and says, "It's like time stood still or something."

"I know. There are places at home in Concord that feel that way to me-the Old North Bridge sometimes, and Kyle Anderson's house, with that bullet from the Revolutionary War-but here it's just about everywhere. You don't even have to half-close your eyes to imagine the past."

"You do that too?" She asks, surprised.

"Sure. I loved history. I'm thinking I might major it at college." For a whole we talk about what we want to do when we grow up. Most people think I want to do something with sports, but I think I might like to be a professor. As much as I love sports, I love history a whole lot too. Professor Berkley was telling me a little about what it's like and it sounds really interesting.

After walking in silence for a few minutes I begin to whistle "When You Wish Upon a Star". Jess begins to hum along too. I always loved that song, it makes me feel like no matter what things can work out.

Suddenly I blurt out, "I'm really glad you came." Now where did that come from Darcy?

"Me too," Jess whispers back.

As Ivy Cottage comes into view I know that it's now or never. I know I like Jess and more than just as a sister. And I'm pretty sure she likes me too. I reach over and tug her braid like I've been doing for years, then reach down and interlace my fingers with hers. She looks up and smiles at me and I smile back. For the first time in a while, I feel completely happy. And I know that I love Jess.
