Later that evening Scott, Shawn, and Kevin went out to the local bar for a drink so Luna could rest quietly. Pac was determined to stay to watch over her. Hunter was in his office talking on the phone with Vince McMahan about next week's show. X-Pac snuck into Hunters bedroom with a box under his arm.
"Hey, Luna. Are you awake?"
"Yep come on in Pac. I'm bored. I've been writing on my laptop, but I need a break."
He pulled out the box from his arm, "I figured you were. I went into town and got some board games. You up for a game? I have Monopoly, Battleship, Clue, and Operation."
She giggled, "Operation. Like the kids game?"
X-Pac smiled from ear to ear pulling out a bottle from his leather jacket. "Oh, no sister. This is no kids game. Drunk Operation. I got a bottle of Tequila. Make the buzzer go off, drink a shot."
"Heck yes. Let's do it. I've never really drank had stuff before though."
Hunter walked up behind him with his arms crossed with an annoyed look on his face. "I think not. She can't drink why taking pain meds. Not to mention it's a bad idea if she has blackouts. Let's not add fuel to the fire. Hand it over Pac."
X-Pac sulked and handed the bottle to him. "Buzzkill."
"Hey, Hunter! Wanna play with us?"
He licked his lips looking her over as she lay content in his bed. "Maybe later. A game of strip Battleship maybe. Every time I sink a ship you lose a piece of clothing." He wiggled his eyebrows at her and her face went beet red.
Luna's mouth dropped open and her eyes were bugging out of her head. "Huh?"
The guys laughed at her expression. "I'm just messing with you. You guys go ahead and have fun. I may join you in a game of Monopoly later."
A while later Hunter went back to check on her. X-Pac was curled up on the end of his bed watching TV with his body over her lower legs like he was guarding her. Luna was cuddling into Hunter's pillow. They were laughing at some movie. He leaned against the door frame watching her sweet smile and her soft laugh. He had seen her so many times in his dreams but the real thing was so much more special. She looked up seeing him watch her. The light from the TV shining in her eyes. Luna moved the white lock of hair from her face and bit her lip shyly. Hunter winked and smiled. He walked over and kissed the top of her head then headed back out the door.
Hunter headed to his home office and closed the door. He went to the window to see the late winter snow was starting to melt off now. He sat thinking about how it all started. His first dream of Luna crossed his mind. How vivid and overwhelmed he was. The old gypsy woman warned him the effect Luna's dreams would have over him. Until that night he didn't realize how true it was.
Flashback:
-DREAM-
A soft voice in the darkness called to him. "Hunter….Hunter...hurry. I want you to see this place. It's so amazing. Hunter...this way."
The darkness cleared and a vision of a woman in a white flowing nightgown was before him running down a garden path. "Hurry! We are almost there! It's so beautiful. Hurry! It's just over there. It would be perfect."
Hunter followed her through the garden to an open area where a gazebo and beautiful flowers filled the space. The smell of flowers filled his nose. The woman turned to him with the sweetest smile he had ever seen. "Isn't it beautiful. It would be perfect for the wedding don't you think?" Her blue eyes smiling back at him made his heart lurch in his chest. "I can't believe we are getting married. I love you so much."
The woman had dark hair with a white stripe in the front that fell over one eye. She moved back her hair from her face. It was the first time he laid eyes on Luna. He tried to reach for her and she started to run again. "Catch me, Hunter. Catch me!" She giggled running into a labyrinth of large bushes.
"Come back! Where are you going?"
"You have to find me." She playfully ran through the path.
The longer he ran the farther she was from him. She screamed and a chill rushed over him. "HUNTER...find me, Hunter! Please! Before it's too late. Before the darkness takes me. I'm scared Hunter. The blackness. Blacking...out…(blackout).
"LUNA! Where are you?" How did he know the girl's name?
-End Dream-
Hunter woke up in a sweat. "LUNA!" He looked around seeing Shawn looking at him on the plane back to the US. They had been in Europe on a show tour.
"Hunter. Dude. We are on the plane. You ok? You woke me up."
"Shawn. We are in trouble. The gypsy…"
"Shh." Shawn looked around to see if anyone heard him. "Keep your voice down."
"The gypsy said we would never find a Dreamer. I saw her dream, Shawn. I saw her face."
"What? It's real? I thought I was just dreaming. I saw you running. I tried to catch up but you and this woman ran into this garden. I couldn't see her face. Then I heard her…"
"Yelling for me to help her. I know." Hunter rubbed his face and rested his head back on the seat. "You know what this means?"
"We have eight years to find her. If not life as we know it will be over forever."
Hunter turned to look at his concerned friend. "She was beautiful."
Shawn rubbed his friend's shoulder. "Just try to get some sleep. We have a lot to talk about when we get home."
Hunter fell back sleep resting peacefully.
- End Flashback
Hunter heard someone in the room and turned to see Shawn watching him. Hunter just sighed and looked back outside.
"Thinking about the first dream huh?"
"Stop reading my thoughts, Shawn."
"I can't help it. I just hate seeing that sad look in your eyes. You know I only read you when I'm worried about you. She loves you, Hunter. You know that. You just have to figure out how to show her you feel the same without freaking her out until we can tell her the truth."
"What if she gets to know the real me and doesn't feel the same. I know her deepest desires her every thought and dream. Her heart. I know I love her. I couldn't help falling in love with her. Her dreams were so real I could feel her. I knew from that first dream there was something special about her. After eight years I know it's not just a fantasy. It's real. I knew it when I saw her lying there in that parking garage. All I wanted to do was protect her and tell her I love her. I've waited so long for this. What if I would have lost her?" Hunter started to tear up.
Shawn went over consoling his friend. "I've never seen you like this. You never cry. You must really love her. I feel it too. I'm the Beta. Her bond with me is like a sister. The guys have no idea what they are missing having this bond. Trust me. That girl loves you and it's not just in her dreams. Give it time."
Hunter wiped his eyes, "We are running out of time. I just have to figure this out."
"Go see your parents tomorrow. It's time. I'll stay with her. You need a break."
"Yeah. Probably a good idea. I've been putting it off for too long."
