A/N: Haii guys, I'm back. I'm super sorry for not posting. I've been burried under school work. But I'm trying. I'm also sorry for this one being a bit on the short side, but I couldn't keep you all waiting any longer. Again, I apologize for the terribly long wait.

*Hiccups' P.o.V*
Sharp claws pierce through my shirt, digging into my chest. "Ow, what?! Twister? What are you doing?" I pull the dragon off my chest and sit her on the bed. She claws at my knee, sending a small bolt of pain through my leg. "What is it?" I ask, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes. Twister jumps off my bed and goes over to Hadyns' bed… which is empty. Then Twister makes her way back over to me, touching my knee with her foot again.
"Where's Hadyn at Twister?" I ask.
Twister gets up and bounds over to the window and jumps onto the ledge, looking outside. I walk over and run my hand through my messy hair. "Twister, I don't see…" I start saying, but something darts past the window, startling me. I push away from the window and try to steady my breathing. Once my heart beat went back to normal, I walk back up to the window. Hesitantly, I stick my head out the window and look around. A noise above me causes me to look up.
"Ah, wait, what? Hadyn, is that you? Wha- what are you doing?"
Hadyn hovers in front of the window, just a few feet away. "What does it look like I'm doing? I'm having fun! Learning to fly… hey, watch this!" She suddenly flies up and hovers in mid-air for a second while looking at her hands. A small, but noticeable flame burst to life in her palm and her face lights up. Hadyn twirls her hand and the flame spirals for a moment before burning out. She floats back down to the window and smiles.
"Wow that was pretty impressive Hadyn. But come on, we've got to go meet the others," I say. I reach my hand out the window and Hadyn takes it. After helping her through the window, Twister comes over and jumps onto Hadyn, who barely had enough time to put her arms out to catch Twister. Twister grumbles something and Hadyn sighs. "Yes, yes I know I promised to be in before dawn… But when you fly for the first time in your life, you don't really pay attention to time," she says. Twister just stares at her and Hadyn huffs. "Hey, don't look at me in that tone of voice."
I chuckle a little and Hadyn looks over. "Great, you're taking the dragons side," she says laughing a bit. Twister sticks her tongue out at Hadyn then jumps down from her arms, waddling over to the stairs.
Hadyn crosses her arms and sighs. "Mean dragons," she mumbles, "but anyways, I think Twister is ready to go, so I would suggest getting Toothless ready if you need to." She looks out the window, seemingly checking for something. "Ice-Fire's still here, so I'll ride him to the cliff so Toothless doesn't have too," she says before walking down the stairs.
I stand there for a moment, wondering if Cyandin is going to wake up. After a few minutes, I hear Hadyn's voice outside the window, but this time she was on Ice-Fire's back with Twister sitting in front of her. "Hiccup, are you coming, or are you just gonna stand there all day?" she asks, smirking. Making a face I call back to her, "Yeah, yeah. I'll be out in a minute." Hadyn nods and flies off.
"Hey, Toothless," I say in a strange sing-song voice. Toothless perks up, raising his head and looking at me, green eyes wide and bright. He gives me a gummy smile and I can't help but smile back. "Are you ready to go, bud?" I ask. Toothless nods and gets up. Before walking over to me, he looks around the room, seemingly searching for something or someone. Guessing at whom it was that Toothless was looking for. "She's already outside bud, with Hadyn. They just left a minute ago," I say.
Toothless nods yet again and makes his way over to my side. Together we make our way down the stairs. After gearing up, I get up unto the saddle and adjust the tail wing so that we could take off. Toothless wiggles underneath me and prepares to jump. Soon, we take off into the air. After a short flight across the aisle, Toothless and I land on a cliff face with the other group members. As I land, a conversation ends with "… Well, Hiccup is here. We'll let him decide," from Tuffnut
I look at Astrid, probably with the most confused expression known to Berk. "What's going on? Why was I suddenly brought into this conversation?" I ask.
Astrid sighs. "We're trying to figure out who will start the competition. And these idiots are arguing about it," she says, annoyance leaking into her voice.
I shake my head, my auburn hair flipping over my eyes. "Okay, how about this; Astrid starts off the competition, being in the sense that she had to go last, last time. Then Snotlout, Fishlegs, the Twins, me, and last but not least, Hadyn. Sound good?" I ask. The group nods and remounts their dragons.
"Alrighty then, Astrid, are you ready?" I ask.
Astrid smirks and says proudly, "I was born ready!"
*Hadyn's P.o.V.*
Astrid and Stormfly shoot off into the sky, and Astrid yells out commands, one after another.
"Stormfly, tail flip! Good girl! Now spiral! Downward dive! Spine shot!"
Stormfly fulfills Astrid's commands with ease. Within a few minutes, Astrid spectacular show was over… or so we thought. With Astrid so far up, I couldn't see exactly what she was doing. She raises her hand, seemingly waiting for something. After a moment, she brings her hand down and lays it on Stormflys back. Suddenly, one of her tail spines go soaring over my head. I duck down, the spine narrowly missing the top of my head.
I turn around and look up, seeing a target directly behind me. I turn back around and glare playfully at Astrid.
"Props for not splitting my head open like a grape, but did you really have to have the target directly behind me?"
Astrid and Stormfly land and Astrid shrugs a little. "It's not my fault you stood there," she claims with a playful glint in her eyes.
Snotlout jumps into the conversation then. "Hey, are you guys gonna just stand there and talk, or are you gonna watch my wonderful performance?" he ask, straightening up as if he was the most important person in the world.
Astrid just rolls her eyes and say, "Sweet baby Thor in a thunderstorm, just go!"
"Oh, we'll go. And when we do, we'll lite the sky on fi-re!" HookFang had taken off right at the end of Snotlouts' sentence, causing his voice to hitch.
Within the first few seconds of his performance, I end up face palming, not wanting to watch any longer. Finally, I hear the telltale sign of Snotlouts' landing. I look up to see him posing seemingly proud on his dragon.
"Thank you for that wonderful performance, Snotlout," Hiccup says, his voice literally dripping with sarcasm.
"… It's my turn!" Ruffnut yells.
"No, it's my turn!" Tuffnut argues.
Hiccup rolls his eyes and calls, "Guys, how many times do I need to tell you: Same dragon!"
Tuff and Ruff look at each other and smile. "Oh yeah!"
They take off and their instructions for Barf and Belch make the dragon confused and soon the dragon is spiraling towards the sea. Barf and Belch straighten themselves out and pull upright before they could touch the water. They land on the cliff, with Ruff and Tuff looking very nauseous. Then the Twins smile and say, "That was awesome! Let's go again!"
Fishlegs pipes up and says, "Uh, guys it's actually my turn."
Hiccup nods at Fishlegs and Fishlegs pats Meatlugs' side. "Come on girl, lets show them what we got."
Meatlug floats into the air and circles around the group and lands back in her space. Fishlegs cheers and Snotlout rolls his eyes, smirking.
"You did the same trick last time. Don't you have anything new to show?" Snotlouts asks, menace lacing his voice.
Fishlegs turns a dark glare unto Snotlout and Snotlout remains quiet.
Hiccup clears his throat, and then he and Toothless take off. Hiccup touches the side of Toothless' head and Toothless quickly does a barrel roll while firing three shots at three separate rocks. Each rock was hit with a plasma blast, shattering it. Looking at the rocks, Hiccup nods in satisfaction. Then he pulls up on Toothless' saddle, bringing him higher up into the sky. Then all of a sudden, they were spiraling down towards the water. There was a frightening moment, thinking that they weren't going to pull up in time. The entire group held their breath, including Snotlout. I crane my neck, trying to get a better look over the cliff, though it was a wasted effort. I was too short to even see past Ice-Fires' head.
After a few agonizing seconds, Toothless shoots up past the cliff-face, startling us all. Hiccup nudges Toothless' making him twist in the air and fly towards the cliff. They land and everyone claps for them. Astrid lightly punches Hiccup in the shoulder, a smile on her face.
"Good job out there, Hiccup," she says.
Hiccup smiles back while rubbing the area that she punched. "Thanks Astrid. But let's see what Hadyn has to show us," he says, looking towards me.
I nod and get ready to take off. "It might not be much because I'm just starting, so, uh, yeah…" With that, I touch the side of Ice-Fires' neck and he looks up towards me.
"Ice-Fire, up!" I say.
Ice-Fire complies and we take off into the air. Once we were high enough in the air, I touch the side of his neck again. Once he made eye contact, I say, "We're going to fly straight up," I point up to the sky, "and you're going to do a spiral while breathing fire," I make a spiraling motion with my finger. Ice-Fire nods and does as I said. During the spiral, I lost my orientation and nearly fell off. If it weren't for Ice-Fire sensing my discomfort and straightening out at the last minute, I would have been floating in the ocean. I direct him over to the cliff and land.
"That wasn't half bad, Hadyn. Good job," Hiccup says, smiling.
Fishlegs nods, and says, "That was great Hadyn!"
Snotlout scoffs and rolls his eyes. "Yeah, sure it was great. For the dragon. But can you do it without the dragon?" he asks sarcastically.
Hiccup was about to say something to him, but I hold out my hand. "Maybe he's right. The dragon did all the work. I didn't do anything but a few hand motions," I say and jump off Ice-Fires' back. Walking over to the edge of the cliff, I hear Hiccup gasp.
"Hadyn, what are you doing?" he ask, jumping off of Toothless to try and stop me. I turn and face the group, mainly eyeballing Snotlout.
"I'm going to prove that I can do it without the dragon," I say before turning back around and face the waters. Taking a deep breath, I step off the ledge. Someone screams my name, it sounds like Hiccup. I ignore the scream and focus. I will my wings to open and I feel them twitch.
Suddenly they fly open, jerking me to a hover just a few feet above the water. I catch my breath, recovering from the near death experience. I flap my wings, bringing myself up into the air. I fly past the cliff, seeing Astrid holding back a very worried looking Hiccup. Astrid notices me and shakes Hiccups' shoulder, pointing to me. He looks up and a smile so bright I could see it from here crosses his face. Flying higher up in the sky I pause for a second, deciding what I was going to do. After a moment, I bring my hands together in front of me.
Shortly afterwards, a small flame burst between my hands. I smile softly, fling my hands out and spin in a circle, making the flames encircle me. The flames die quickly and I fly back over to the cliff. As soon as I land, Hiccup breaks free from Astrids grip and runs over to me. As soon as he got near me, he tackles me, actually knocking me off balance, giving me a hug. I hug him back, slightly unsure of what was going on.
Hiccup pulls back a little and looks at me. "Don't you ever do that again, I almost had a heart attack," he says.
I smile apologetically at him. "Sorry Hiccup, I just felt like I needed to prove Snotlout wrong," I say, shooting a glare in Snotlouts direction. Snotlout shrinks back from the glare and tries to look innocent. I shake my head and look back at Hiccup
"I really am sorry, and I promise it won't happen again," I say sincerely. Hiccup smiles at me gently.
"Hiccup! Trader Johann is here! Come on," Stoic, Hiccups' dad, call from above us. We look up and see Stoic sitting on the back of a blue Thunderdrum. Hiccup and I quickly let go of each other, faces turning bright red. Stoic just chuckles and flies away towards the docks.
"Well guys, you heard the man, let's go see what Trader Johann has for us today," Hiccup says, mounting Toothless. The other nod and get on their dragons.
"Wait, Hadyn, do you have your cloak with you?" Astrid asks. I nod and she says, "You might wanna put it on. No telling what kind of tale Johann can spin from that."
I quickly pull the cloak over me, making sure that my wings were hidden. Once I was done with that, the group takes off and flies towards the docks.
**TIME SKIP (10 MINUTES) **
The visit to Johann's ship was, to say the least, interesting. We land on the docks and jump off our dragons, me making sure my cloak stayed in place. Johann greets us warmly, promising that all he had was authentic. As I wonder his ship, looking at all the Twister keeps trying to pull my cloak off of me. I bend down and scoop her into my arms.
"Twister, I can't take this off right now," I say quietly. She looks at me as if to say 'well, why not?' I chuckle softly and shake my head. "Because we don't know how Johann would react to me being part dragon," I explain. Twister just huffs and leaps out of my arms and waddles of the ship to her place next to Toothless.
"Those to have an interesting bond, don't they?" Johann asks, coming up behind me.
"Well, of course they do. Twister's having Toothless' -…" Snotlout begins to say before I cut him off with a glare.
Johann looks confused and I just smile at him before walking away. Gobber joins the party after a little bit and strikes up a conversation with Johann about some weapons.
I happen to be walking by when I hear a little bit of their conversation,
"… Just off Blood Bath Bay. I hear that tribe is getting a whole armada together to search for the chiefs missing daughter and son," Johann was saying. I stop in my tracks and look over to the two of them.
"Excuse me, Johann; d-did you just say 'Blood Bath Bay'?" I ask.
Johann nods and says, "Why yes I did. Apparently their chief, Methodius the Merciless, is bringing together a fleet to search for the tribes missing son and daughter. Why do you ask?"
I couldn't answer. My mind goes in to overdrive. Methodius is my fathers' name. His tribe is located just past Blood Bath Bay… That means that my father is hunting for Cyandin and I… oh, this isn't good…
"Hadyn, are ya alright?" Gobber asks, waving his prosthetic in front of me.
I shake my head. "No… His daughter didn't go missing. She was exiled, and her brother came looking for her to protect her."
"And just how do you know this?" Johann asks curiously, a hint of disbelief in his voice. I turn my glare onto him.
"Because I'm that mans' daughter. Cyandin," I point in my brother's direction, "is my brother. He came to insure that I'm safe. Methodius isn't searching for me. He's hunting me down. He wants me dead," I say.
