I am SO SORRY for the wait, I just got completely distracted by my other stories and things that I almost forgot about this one! I know that's not really a very good excuse so I'm not going to continue trying to justify myself and just get on with the story.

SuperminionXD

P.S. Before I start I'd just like to remind you that AIM are responsible for the explosion that killed Heather and Jay's parents and gave them their powers. I did mention it before but I just thought all this would make a lot more sense if I reminded you.

P.P.S. Lime Street is where the Block of Flats/lab was before it was blown up

Stupid Muggers! I cursed as I ran down the street. Did criminals have no sense of timing? Then again, maybe they did and just hated me? Actually I probably gave them good reason to hate me by stopping them. Never mind all this, I'm still late! I dodged in and out of the crowd clutching my papers. If only that guy hadn't had to have mugged that women the exact moment I passed then I wouldn't have had to stop it and I wouldn't even be in this predicament! Of course the whole getting places on time thing would be a whole lot easier if I flew. But that wasn't an option right now since several people, including Dr Connors, had commented about how I got places so fast without a car. The things I do for the sake of a secret identity!

Unfortunately, due to my mental rant, I wasn't properly looking where I was going. So consequently, I ran straight into someone. Then I promptly dropped all my papers on the floor. Sometimes I hate my luck. Actually, make that all the time. I amended as a gust of wind caught several of the sheets lifted them up into the air. Plus with all the people around I couldn't risk using my telekinesis. I scrabbled around on the floor, picking up all the sheets.

"Here" a voice sounds above me and a hand comes into view holding several of the escaped paper sheets.

"I don't need any help" I snapped, annoyed that someone would think I did.

"That's not what it looked like to me" the voice replied with a slight laugh.

"So, I still don't" I insisted, snatching the papers and shoving them under my elbow where I had the other sheets I had succeeded in capturing. I glanced up at the owner of the voice. It was a boy about my age, quite obviously a student going by the satchel he carried on his shoulder. He wore dark black jeans and a light blue shirt with the top button undone. I stood up, having picked up all the papers from the ground, finding him quite a bit taller than me.

"Will" he smiled welcomingly.

"Huh?" I replied, slightly confused.

"My name" he explained, sounding rather amused. I blushed slightly, realising how stupid I'd been.

"Right, Heather, Heather Jones" I introduced myself, still rather flustered from picking up all the papers. "Anyway, thanks for your help, not that I needed it or anything"

"Course not" he agreed, though I got the impression he was agreeing for the sake of agreeing rather than that it was his actual opinion. I smiled slightly and continued hurrying down the street. "Wait!"

I stopped and turned as I heard him shouting after me.

"I found another one" he shrugged as he handed me the final leaf.

"Thanks" I thanked rather reluctantly before continuing on my way.

I almost got to the lab before I noticed the ship streaking across the sky, my teammates streaking after it. I froze and gritted my teeth at the sight. I recognised the design. It was AIM.

Hang work! I decided, today I was making AIM pay for what they did! My mind made up, I ran for the nearest alley and unzipped me hoodie to reveal the t-shirt part of my costume. I quickly stripped to show my entire costume and grabbed my mask and jacket from my rucksack. I stuffed the papers in the bag and hung it on a hook high up where no one could reach it. Then I flew up, after the AIM ship.

"Look out!" I warned Thor and Wasp as a large black energy ball of some description fired from the ship towards them. They both dodged it only to find that it collapsed into what seemed to be a synthetic black hole. I screamed as I saw them both sucked into it. But that didn't last long as the ball began to spark with blue electricity and expand until it freed the heroes.

"That's crazier than I was thinking" Wasp commented.

"Trust me, you have no idea what AIM are capable of" I growled through gritted teeth.

"Psy!" She exclaimed upon noticing my presence.

"I grow weary of these 'Geeks' should we not call the other Avengers?" Thor suggested.

"They'll only slow us down, big guy, right Psy?" Wasp argued.

"AIM is mine" I said uncharacteristically darkly, "We don't need them"

"Right" Wasp seemed suspicious of my strange behaviour but turned to Thor, "Think you can clip their wings?"

"Aye!" Thor proclaimed, readying his hammer. He threw the 'magical' tool at the ship; it hit one of the thrusters causing the pod to slow down dramatically.

"Now we get them" I said through gritted teeth, flying towards the struggling ship with half a mind to rip it apart piece by piece. It's what they deserve after what they've done!

"Hold up!" Wasp's voice shook me from my fury as she flew into my path.

"They're getting away!" I protested annoyed.

"But they will escape!" Thor echoes my statement.

"No, they'll think they're escaping, they're actually gunna lead us right to they're secret base" Wasp explained, "Where we'll beat 'em all up!"

"Verily!" Thor agreed straight away, I huffed and decided it was an ok plan. A whole base of AIM Agents was better to destroy than just a ship if I was going to make them pay. So, reluctantly, I dropped behind with the others so we could follow the ship at a safe distance.

We snuck behind the ship as it flew down through the buildings into the futuristic looking base. It was massive and I probably would've been awed by it if I wasn't consumed by revenge. We watched as the Drones exited the ship and were met by another identically dressed one. They seemed to start explaining their encounter.

"The Avengers were chasing you and you came here!" the Third Drone spluttered.

"Yeah, you guys what were you thinking?" Wasp mocked, appearing from over the Drone's shoulder. "Hi!"

She blasted the Drone in the mask. In my anger I grasped the second in a telekinetic choke hold.

"I want answers! Who is ordered the destruction of the Secret Lab on Lime Street!" I demanded the man, who struggled against my invisible grasp.

"I… don't… know… let… go!" he begged as he squirmed.

"Let him go, Psy, what's wrong with you!" Wasp protested, having knocked out her Drone. I lost concentration and the guy collapsed to the floor.

"Nothing that can't be fixed by destroying this entire base!" I snapped and stormed off down the corridor towards where I assumed the main part would be.

"Ok Stop, what is that?" Wasp exclaimed, drawing my attention to a strange floating head.

"It appears to be some kind of… of… that is a very big head" Thor tried to reply.

"I am MODOC! I am the ultimate in human-machine interface! I am designed only for conquest!" It announced.

"Whatever you say, Freak-show" Wasp replied

"Be silent!" it ordered.

"You be silent!" I retorted angrily.

"Like a Frost-Giant's head on an infant's body" Thor described, though I had no idea what a Frost-Giant was. Possibly something with a big head. That was cold.

The creature roared and shot another red beam at the Asguardian.

"Thor!" Wasp exclaimed, before flying at MODOC stings blazing.

"Human-Machine interface this!" I cried, using my Technopathy to hijack its hover-chair, sending it spinning. The bright beam from its humungous forehead caused untold destruction around the lab, until it hit a large purple beam I hadn't noticed before. The purple energy poured out down onto the floor of the lab.

"I think you broke it" Wasp commented

"Whatever 'it' is" I added, "Looks like ionic energy"

The smoke cleared to reveal a floating purple figure over some empty clothes.

"He's survived" MODOC announced with interest.

"What did you do to him!" I demanded, glaring at the creature. There was no way I'd let them do this to people, it was bad enough it had happened to my own life!

"The Mental bolt must've changed the Algorithm" it concluded, ignoring my demand.

"Another Villain?" Thor asked.

"Probably" Wasp agreed, "You wanna hit him or you want me to?"

"Wait!" I called, realising this man was probably just as much a victim to AIM as I was. But before any of us could do anything he simply flew up straight through the ceiling and away.

"Incredible, I have created a being of ionic energy! I am Science! I am Genius!" The creature proclaimed, only for his obscenely gigantic face to be hit by Thor's hammer.

"You are TOAST!" I shouted, flying straight at the creature, "Now tell me who was responsible for the Lime Street explosion!"

"Project Technopsy was obsolete, AIM had no more need of it" it replied

"Oh you did not just call me obsolete!" I snarled through gritted teeth. My Telekinesis was somehow strengthened by my fury and I began tearing chunks of the building and throwing them at MODOC and any other AIM Drones that got anywhere near me. I didn't even notice the others fighting, my mind had nothing but anger for the organisation that had ruined my life. I was only woken from my bezerker-like rage when the creature was thrown through a wall that closed behind it. Suddenly the ground shook like some enormous engine was coming to life.

"The whole base, is a ship!" Wasp realised, "Man, would Hank love that"

Ok, it was kind of cool. Wait, was that one of the rockets above us? Oh great. I was suddenly knocked to the side by Thor who clasped Wasp in his hands. I quickly found a nearby chunk of metal and used it to protect me from the flames. My head hurt from so much use of my powers, but I couldn't give in. The base above us launched into the air, the heat was almost unbearable. Several pieces of rubble fell from the ceiling but I was able to deflect them, using my telekinesis like a shield. But finally the pain in my head overtook me and blackness prevailed.

I groaned as I felt myself being picked up and slung over someone's shoulder. Agh, why did this always happen to me? I blinked my eyes open, there was an ugly scar of destruction left by the AIM base. The Base itself was shooting over the horizon, rockets blazing.

"Agh, they're getting away!" I complained in the strongest voice I could, which wasn't that strong since my head was still pounding.

"Scientists are not to be trusted" Thor, whose shoulder I was on apparently, proclaimed.

"You got that right" Wasp agreed.

"Hey! I take offence!" I tried to sound as dignified as possible while being carried over the shoulder of a so-called 'God'.

"I wonder what happened to that weird purple guy?" Wasp wondered aloud, unfortunately we didn't have time to wonder as there was a beeping noise from our Cards.

"We must assist our friends!" Thor proclaimed, proud that he now understood what the beep meant.

"Thor?" I asked hopefully.

"Yes, Psy" he boomed in return.

"Can you let go of me now?" I begged.

"Of course" he replied, his arm released my legs and I telekinetically lifted myself free.

"Thanks" I said reluctantly, "and just so you know, I didn't need saving"

I smirked, some of my normal personality returning after being so angry. We quickly saw what the summons had been about and flew as fast as we could towards Start tower. Through the smashed hole in the side of the building I could see Ironman in a larger suit of armour holding… wait, was that the purple guy from before?

"…THIS POWER!" I heard him shout as a wave of the purple ionic energy erupted from him and knocked Ironman backwards. We got closer and I saw the figure pick up a now armour-less Tony Stark and draw his fist back. He tried to punch him but something happened that I couldn't see. The man collapsed slightly, and now Tony was supporting him.

"Listen to him, Simon" Ant man pleaded as both Thor and I came in to land in front of the Arc reactor. "If you don't let us help you'll…"

"Help me get him into the reactor!" Stark commanded us, "Come on, Simon, hold it together, we'll figure out a way to save you!"

"Wait… WAAAIIIT!" the figure, Simon, cried as his purple energy dissolved into red and then into nothing. I looked on in horror, he was… dead? I gritted my teeth, AIM were paying double for this!

"This… this is not what I wanted" Tony Stark said sadly, "I was trying to explain to him, I bought Simon's company to save it, it wasn't going to survive. I knew Simon had brilliant Tech in development, I wanted to work with him, to save what he built! All I wanted to do was help him."

I looked sadly at my feet. This Superhero thing wasn't going to be as easy as I thought. After all, everyone fails sometimes, nobody's perfect. But I still couldn't help thinking, if I hadn't been so angry and hooked on revenge, I might have been able to help save him.

I didn't plan on having such a dark chapter so early on, but I couldn't help it, I needed to do this episode and it had AIM in so it made sense for Heather, whose life had been ruined by them, to do the revenge thing.

In other, slightly less dark, news we should see a bit more of Jay within the next few chapters. If you're lucky he might even get a couple of adventures on his own! Too bad he actually has to go to school so I can't have him in every episode.

I'll try to update faster this time!

Bye for now,
