-Chapter 7-

Well, this is chapter 7 .

I might be a bit - very - behind on my updating lately, I know I've used this excuse before, but seriously, us teenagers should pretest against homework or something .-.

On the way to the Fenton Portal, Ember was being bombarded with questions from Danny, Sam and Tucker.

"Guys seriously, I'm fine! They didn't do anything to me!" Ember said truthfully more or less, 'Except they basically corrupted my mind.' Ember mentally answered.

"I'm glad, what would I do without you?" Danny asked in a loving tone.

-Amity Park, in the park-

"Ember, I know I've asked before but seriously, you look confused and panicked..." Danny observed as Ember fidgeted with her guitar.

"It's nothing." Ember said flatly.

"Sam and Tucker are coming in a minute; they've gone to their house to make up a story to their parents about where they were..." Danny said with a small chuckle, it still didn't bring a smile to Ember's face though.

Ember only sighed in depression. "I feel like I'm failing as a boyfriend since you're not smiling..." Danny said as he sat down on a bench and tapped the empty space next to him for Ember to sit down and join him.

'You also failed at telling the truth.' Ember thought annoyed as she sat next to Danny.

"C'mon Emy, you can tell me anything." Danny said with comfort in his eyes.

Before Ember could say anything, Tucker and Sam suddenly made their way into the conversation. "Hey guys!" Sam and Tucker said.

"Hey, Tuck! Hey, Sam!" Danny said happily to see his friends.

"Danny…what's your last name?" Ember asked knowing what he would answer already.

"Fenton." Danny answered in a confused tone.

"I meant your ghost one..." Ember said more clearly.

Sam, Tucker and Danny avoided this question the past few weeks since Ember lost her memory because they thought it might have triggered 'Danny Phantom' in her memories and everything would be ruined.

"He doesn't have one, it's just 'Danny'..." Tucker lied.

Ember now knew why Sam, Tucker and Danny seems distant from her at times, they were uncomfortable with the lies they had to keep. Ember was still unsure why they made these lies but she needed to find out.

"Okay." Ember said calmly looking down at the floor.

Danny sighed loudly; he was fed up of the lying already. Sam and Tucker looked as if it was starting to hurt them lying too.

"Tuck, Sam, can I talk to you for a minute?" Danny whispered as he got up off the bench he and Ember were sitting on. Danny gave a '2 minute' sign to Ember saying that he would only be talking for two minutes.

Danny then used his ghost powers to phase himself, Tucker and Sam underground. "Ew..." Sam mumbled as she steeped her black boots into the sewers.

"It's sound proof down here Sam." Tucker mentioned as he pointed above to where Ember was sitting on the surface.

"Oh, right." Sam understood.

"So what's the deal, Danny?" Tucker asked raising an eyebrow.

"I'm ending this." Danny said simply as he turned fully ghost. "Wait, what?" Tucker asked confused.

"I agree." Sam said as she grabbed onto Danny.

"Wait, guys. What are you talking about?" Tucker asked again.

"Look, I thought about this earlier and thought that it wasn't right for Ember, we need to tell her the truth..." Sam said shocking Tucker.

"But Sam, it was your idea!" Tucker said fiddling with his red cap.

"I know. I don't feel right about it. I can see you and Danny feel the same as well so we should tell her." Sam stated causing Tucker to gasp.

Danny nodded in agreement. Tucker then agreed and said, "Yeah I know...but I didn't say anything because we seemed so close and Ember knows all her powers now...so I thought you guys were still going for it."

"Yeah, she has mastered all her powers now; she's exactly like the Ember before she lost her memory...except she's not all evil." Danny said with a shrug.

"So Danny, why did you pose as Ember's boyfriend in the first place? I mean, you could have said you were her friend and she still would've listened to you..." Sam wondered raising an eyebrow.

Danny blushed hard, it was Tucker's doing. "Ahaha!" Tucker suddenly cracked up laughing.

"What?" Sam asked in great confusion.

"It's amazing you haven't realised, that's all!" Tucker said wiping a tear from his eye from laughing too much.

"Realised what?" Sam was starting to grow irritated from this.

"1) That Danny always calls Ember: Emy!" Tucker began to list.

"So?" Sam said without a care as if that's normal, "Danny always used to call me Sammy and he calls you Tuck, your point being?" Sam continued to say.

"2) You ever notice how much Danny smiles at Ember?" Tucker asked with a playful wink to hopefully get the message across to Sam.

Sam shook her head, she really hadn't noticed.

"3) How about, how they always text each other even if they're only apart for one hour?" Tucker said with a sly smile.

Sam said, "Danny since when do you text?"

Danny ignored the question, he was going to get around to telling Sam but he was always too busy texting Ember tons of mushy teenage crap.

"4) Those little inside jokes they have together that we're not a part of..." Tucker said wriggling his eyebrows at Danny. Sam looked at Tucker questionably.

"5) So you're telling me that you haven't noticed the little cute rivalry game between them every now and then about who can aim better with their ecto blasts?"

"I thought that was Danny training her aim..." Was Sam's reply.

"6) How about, how Danny always tries to look nice when he meets up with Ember?" Tucker pointed out.

"Because that's what gentleman do..." Sam said with a 'duh' tone and expression.

"You're impossible. 7) Ember and Danny call each other all the time... explain that." Tucker said smugly.

"They have phones... they use them." Sam said shrugging her shoulders, still with the cluelessness.

"Ugh. 8) Why does Danny always give Ember compliments?" Tucker asked hoping Sam is starting to see where he's going with this.

"Because he's being nice. Danny always used to give me compliments!" Sam answered.

'Yeah, used to!' Tucker thought.

Sam then turned around to ask Danny something but Danny was gone. "Where's Danny?" Sam asked Tucker.

"He probably flew away because of your annoying cluelessness." Tucker said snugly, and continued, "9) They always take pictures together... why?" Tucker asked throwing his hands in the air beginning to give up.

Sam didn't have an answer to this one, she was going to answer how Danny always used to take pictures with her but she didn't see the point.

"10) They always pass notes to each other, even when they're NOT in class!" Tucker continued listing frustratedly.

"All your points mean nothing, he always used to do every one of those things with me, there's no difference with Ember!" Sam said raging.

'I think we're getting somewhere...' Tucker thought sarcastically.

"Okay then... how about, 11) In class, everyone calls them lovebirds and Danny doesn't deny it... with you, Danny has always denied it. Please explain." Tucker said with serious written all over his face.

"I don't need this." Sam said storming off towards the way out (which was some sewer passage).

-Meanwhile with Danny-

Danny phased up from the floor and sat on the bench where Ember was playing 'Remember' on her guitar. "Oh, hey dipstick."

"Hey Em... sorry. Sam and Tuck are talking about you and me down there so I left since the conversation was really random...' Danny said a shrug.

"Danny, can I ask you something?" Ember asked looking down at the floor frowning.

"Anything..." Danny said lifting Ember's head by her chin, "Please don't frown... it's making me sad..." Danny commented on Ember's unhappy expression.

"I can't help it, something's been screwing my mind lately... and it's kind of to do with you, Tuck and Sam..." Ember admitted.

"Oh... well you can tell me. Me, Tucker and Sam were just talking about something we wanted to tell you too actually..." Danny said nodding slowly thinking this was it; this was going to be the last time he would be allowed within five feet of Ember without being blasted into oblivion.

To Danny's surprise, Ember had a small tear running down her face. "No, no, please don't cry!" Danny said wrapping his arms tightly around Ember. Ember didn't feel like hugging him back though, a few hours ago if she cried she wouldn't have wanted anything other than Danny to hug her but she was now hesitant with him even being close to her.

Ember was going to be subtle about how she told him but her crying didn't help her play it closer to the vest, "Danny, you're not really my boyfriend are you?"

Danny's eyes widened, he knew this would happen but he honestly thought that he would have told the truth before Ember found out.

Danny was speechless, he couldn't think of what to say, words wouldn't form, sentences couldn't be made. Danny sat in silence hugging Ember while trying to put a sentence, any sentence, together.

"Danny. Phantom." Ember mumbled calmly, "Danny Phantom: enemy, enemy of The Ghost Zone, thermos, super hero that gets rid of evil ghosts like me..." Ember listed softly as she began holding Danny back.

Danny then answered Ember's earlier question and said, "No... I'm not. Most of the stuff me, Tucker and Sam have told you is true but we didn't tell you everything about your afterlife that's all. The only things we lied about were Tucker and Sam being your best friends and you and me being... well together." Danny admitted shutting his eyes tightly expecting his to be blasted into a wall.

"Why did you lie to me about being my boyfriend? What was the point? I would've still listened to you even if you said you were my friend..." Ember asked lifting her head to look at Danny, Ember knew they were enemies but she also knew Danny wouldn't fight her now since Danny looked just as sad as she did.

Just when Danny was about to answer, Sam came stomped towards them both and answered for Danny, "It's because he liked you in that way BEFORE you lost your memory."

"Finally Sam gets it!" Tucker said behind Sam.

"But we were enemies at that time..." Ember said in a confused tone.

"Not to Danny. In your head before you lost your memory, you were probably thinking about wasting Danny every second of the day, but in his head, you were dating, or getting married, or going on a date, or just plainly having a make-out session, or-" Tucker began to list with a cheeky smile. Danny put his hand over Tucker's mouth before he could say more.

Ember and Danny began to blush really hard.

"-What Tucker MEANT to say was, I may or may not have had a small crush on you while we were enemies..." Danny said interrupting Tucker.

Tucker shoved Danny's hand off his mouth. "SMALL!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? He wouldn't even fight you when you came over to take over Amity, he was afraid he might end up hurting you!" Tucker laughed.

Danny physically face-palmed, 'Why is this happening to me!?' Danny thought embarrassed.

'That might explain what I read in my diary when it said Danny wouldn't fight me...' Ember thought understanding.

"ALRIGHT, PUNK! WE'RE HERE TO KICK YOUR ASS!" Johnny yelled from above on his bike with Kitty riding on the back.

"Ember, don't worry!" Kitty said jumping down and landing next to Ember in an attack position, "Me and Johnny got this!"

"What? No, guys, it's fine!" Ember said trying to get them to leave since she was now listening to the truth, Johnny now came over and did the same as Kitty.

"Are you insane!? They're probably telling you more lies to cover up our truths!" Kitty said narrowing her eyes at Danny, Sam and Tucker. Sam and Tucker backed away slowly since they didn't bring any ecto weapons with them.

"Kitty, please calm down, we weren't doing anything to Ember, promise!" Danny said raising his hands in an 'I come in peace' and defensive way.

"THAT'S GOT LIES WRITTEN ALL OVER IT!" Kitty yelled standing in front of Ember protectively.

"Guys, c'mon, you don't think I can take care of myself here?" Ember concluded with her hands on her hips.

"Honestly: before: yes, now: no." Johnny said as he tried to intimidate Danny by standing tall above him.

"Why before and not now?" Ember asked unsure of what Johnny meant.

"Because now: you've lost your memories so your powers are just as useless to you as The Box Ghost is to humanity." Johnny explained.

"Actually, baby-pop, Tucker and Sam taught me my powers, helped me master all the basics, helped with my guitar and showed and practiced how to use it." Ember commented with her arms crossed smiling smugly.

"They probably taught you to use them wrong." Kitty said saying 'they' with venom.

"HEY! We showed Ember how to use her powers EXACTLY like she did before she lost her memory!" Sam said clenching her fists.

Before Kitty could respond with some aggressive comment, Danny then turned ghost and flew in between Kitty and Sam.

"STOP!" Danny abruptly said separating the cat fight, "Look Johnny...Kitty, I know you guys don't trust me and I respect that and you have a reason to." Danny stated calmly then took a deep breath and said, "Here's the truth."

Danny then stepped back and stood next to Sam and Tucker hoping that they would help him out.

"Look, Ember, it was my entire fault I guess... and I dragged Danny and Tucker along with my plan, Tucker was all for it at the start but Danny was very hesitant about it..." Sam said with a shrug.

"Yeah, all Sam's fault!" Tucker commented holding his thumbs up.

"When you lost your memory, Danny's plan was to train you with your powers and tell you all about your real ghost life and just continue as you usually did... but then I-" Sam continued to say but Tucker butted in.

"-ACTUALLY, then I erm... well knew that Danny had this huge thing for you so-" Tucker was then interrupted by Kitty.

"-DANNY HAD A HUGE THING FOR EMBER!? SINCE WHEN!?"

"Since ages! You should see him in class dreaming about Ember and see his computer, it's filled with Ember bought CDs and you should hear his dreams at a sleepover!" Tucker said laughing.

"Ahaha, oh my god, that's amazing! Ember had the same thing, she was always writing in this diary she has about Danny, she didn't realise she had a crush on Danny but when I pointed out how much she wrote about him, she denied it countless times!" Kitty said joining in the laughter.

"Anyway... carry on." Johnny said annoyed with the small side-track.

"Oh right yeah, so since I knew that Danny had a massive thing for Ember, when 'Amber' asked who Danny was, I may or may not have answered for him by answering, 'Your boyfriend'..." Tucker said as he rubbed his neck slightly and awkwardly.

"Exactly! So it was Tucker and my fault!" Sam jumped in saying.

"So because I said that, Danny couldn't exactly just go back to his plan... and then that's where Sam came in with her plan!" Tucker said putting emphasis on 'her'.

"Yeah, sure Tucker, just put me straight in the middle of the blame, I don't mind." Sam said with a large amount of sarcasm clouding her voice.

"So then, why are you telling Ember all the truth now, she knows all her powers, you could have gone through with your plan, why stop?" Johnny asked curiously.

"Because for some reason I started feeling really guilty and bad..." Sam said as she lowered her head ashamed.

"Well I guess it's because we've just grown fond of her..." Tucker said with a shrug.

"Well I know she wants to go back to the way things used to be: with the banter, the fighting, hanging with us in The Ghost Zone, partying in nightclubs there-" Kitty began to list only for Ember to raise a hand to stop her.

"-Woah, woah, wait...we partied in nightclubs?" Ember asked happily knowing there was something she knew she would do.

"All. The. Time." Johnny enunciated with a fake drunken smile.

Ember nodded with a huge smile as fifty memories all at once of her and her best friends: Johnny and Kitty, all having good times at clubs.

For the next few moments different thoughts pondered everyone's mind:

Danny: 'How could I let this happen? I could've just told Ember the truth the moment she lost her memory, but no! Tucker and Sam just had to pull me in their plot... ugh, I can't blame them, this is equally my fault... act calm and everything will be fine.'

Kitty: 'Can't believe Danny would lie like that without feeling guilt... look at him, he looks so calm about all of this, when Ember gets some sense back we'll waste him...'

Johnny: 'This is really dramatic... woah, I just said dramatic! That's a big word! I'm going to tell Kitty later! I mean, it's pretty impressive.'

Sam: 'Ugh, I should've listened to Danny and we should have all told Ember the truth at the start instead of going along with my stupid plan!'

Ember: 'It's funny... one day I lose my memory and suddenly the next day it looks like everyone wants to end each other...'

Tucker: 'Where's the nearest computer store? I didn't bring anything to charge my PDA, I wonder if Danny will have a charger on him.'

Dull way to end a chapter, but I'm tired as hell so XD

Oh, just wondering, anybody heard of a game called Flappybird? Yes? No? It ruined your social life? Yeah me too. Guys, I know I ask this tons and tons of times an dover and over again, but please, please, please... review ^.^ I'd find it boring to write otherwise .-.

(Don't worry, I don't plan on having this piece of crap as the last chapter xD)
