Chapter 7

After lunch, Elizabeth spirited Alice away from the others so they could talk. They sat in a secluded area in the garden. Elizabeth babbled about something Alice wasn't paying attention to as she braided blades of grass together.

"Isn't your dress kind of short?" Lizzy suddenly asked.

"For this society, yes."

"Then where did you get it?"

"Get it? Oh, I made it from one of Mey-Rin's maid uniforms."

"Seriously?! It seems like such good quality, I thought it was made by a talented tailor." Alice smiled nervously at Elizabeth's enthusiasm. "I know! Make me something! I'd like to see more of your clothes too."

"Well, I only have one other dress, but it has cat hair on it and Ciel's allergic." Aiice looked at Lizzy's shocked face. "What?"

"What do you mean you only have one other dress!? A girl can't only have two dresses."

"Well…That's true…"

"Haven't you said anything to Ciel?"

"No. He's been busy and I didn't want to bother him. "

"Then we'll tell him right now." Lizzy stood up, dragging Alice with her. Alice protested as she was dragged towards Ciel's study. "Ciel!" Lizzy yelled, throwing open the study door.

He glanced up with a balanced face. "…Yes?" He asked.

"Why haven't- mmph!" Alice covered Lizzy's mouth with her hand.

"Sorry for bothering you." She smiled nervously, and started to dragged Lizzy out who struggled against her.

"Excuse me." Alice looked over her shoulder to see Sebastian standing there with Ciel's afternoon tea. Sebastian looked down at her with a curious smile on his face. Alice let go of Lizzy and stepped off to the side for him.

"Why haven't you gotten Alice any new clothes? A girl can't live with only two dresses!" Lizzy screeched as Sebastian placed Ciel's tea and slice of Monte Blanc in front of him.

"I know that." Ciel said, sipping his tea."

"Then why?"

"I've been busy. I actually planned on surprising Alice by taking her to the market tomorrow." He replied.

"R-really?" Lizzy stammered, "I'm sorry for my outburst."

Ciel nodded, mentally sighing.

"Say, Alice did you hear that?" Lizzy asked, turning to smile at Alice.

"Hear what?" Alice asked. "Sorry I was thinking about something," she explained when Lizzy stared at her blankly.

Lizzy smiled. "Never mind then." She looked at Ciel and winked. His surprise was safe. Lizzy dragged Alice back out of the room, "Well lets go, we can talk more about clothes."

"But I don't know much about clothes."

"You can sew dresses but don't know about clothes?!"

The door shut behind them. Ciel sighed. Elizabeth is so noisy. He ate his cake and wondered if Elizabeth would let Alice leave her side long enough for her to come here so they could start a game later that afternoon, now that he has a story in mind.

Later, Sebastian picked up Ciel's dishes. Ciel didn't say anything as he messed with what might possibly be one of Funtom's new toys…if only he could figure out how to make it stop glitching. "Sebastian."

"Yes, Young Master?" Sebastian asked from the doorway.

"Grab a board game, any one will do." Sebastian bowed and left.

Ciel stood up to find Alice. He wanted to see if he could win this time. He found the girls in Alice's room. Lizzy was trying to teach Alice about fashion, but Ciel could see that Alice's head was spinning.

He grabbed her wrist and pulled her up from the bed. "If you'll excuse us, Alice and I have some business to attend to."

Lizzy blinked at him. "uh, okay…"

Ciel led Alice back to his study, still holding his wrist.

"You could have come sooner," She mumbled, "She didn't stop talking for hours."

Ciel looked at her, and his expression softened a bit. "I'll have Sebastian bring you some tea for your headache then. Are you still up for a game?"
