Chapter 7
Gothel looked through the dancing skirts for her beautiful daughter. She had heard earlier a young woman had broken one of her many fine diamond champagne glasses. She had promised herself that when she found the lady she would have to go through punishment of such destruction.
Amidst the dancing and music Gothel could not find her blonde hair beauty. She then searched for her fiancée instead.
"Sir Flynn..." Gothel addressed him as she interrupted the circle he and three other men were in. The men parted for her, letting her join their circle.
"Lady Gothel," Flynn addressed her formally. "To what do I owe this pleaser?"
Gothel eyed the young gentlemen that accompanied Flynn. "May we speak?" she looked back at Flynn, "alone."
Flynn nodded his head slightly, "of course. Gentlemen," he addressed the others now, "would you be so kind to let my future mother-in-law and I some word to ourselves?"
"Of course Sir Flynn," one spoke for all of them, bowing slightly. "Congratulations on you and your fiancée," he stood up again. "Lady Gothel, it was lovely to meet you," he said before ushering himself and the others off.
"A pleaser," Gothel called after him before turning back to Flynn.
"I'll escort you to the balcony, there we can talk," Flynn said as he held his arm out for her, she took it.
"What's troubling you Gothel?" Flynn asked after they started walking together.
"It's my daughter, Rapunzel," Gothel replied, her eyes still searched the masked crowed for her daughter.
There were a few moments of silence as Flynn opened the balcony door. They stepped out onto the balcony together, dispatching as they did.
"Have you seen her?" Gothel asked as Flynn shut the door behind him.
"I have," he said simply as he walked towards the railing.
"You have? Where is she?"
"I sent her to bed," Flynn said as he looked towards Rapunzel's tower, little light was flickering across the glass doors. 'She must be asleep' Flynn thought as he stared out the tower.
"Why on Earth did you do that?" Gothel demanded. "You two are not wedded yet! You cannot push her around like some dog!"
"I sent her to bed because she had broken one of your Champaign glasses and had Champaign staining on her skirts. I did what was best for her," Flynn argued back. Gothel remained silent for a while. In that time Flynn could have sworn he saw a shadow move across the glass doors of Rapunzel's tower.
"I apologise Flynn," Gothel finally said.
"Your apology is ac-what is that?" Flynn caught the French doors opening. He had hoped to see his beautiful fiancée instead a figure like a man steps out.
"What? What is it?" Gothel looks towards Rapunzel's tower. "Is that a man leaving my daughters tower!?"
"I believe so," Flynn said quickly as he retreated back into the dining room.
"Where are you going!?" Gothel called after him.
"To save your daughter!"
With those words, Gothel gather her skirts and ran after Flynn, who was running towards Rapunzel's tower.

Rapunzel watched as Captain Frost opened her French doors that led into the balcony and slip out. She let out the breath she was holding. She was doing it. She was going to run away. And to not just anywhere but on a pirate ship! She had to contain her squeals of delight bubbling inside her chest.
Below her she felt the bottom of her skirts being pulled and numerous squeaks. She moved the skirts away to find a very worried chameleon. She gave Pascal a small smile before bending down to pick him up.
"Everything's going to be alright Pascal," she assured him as she brought him up to her eye level. "It's time for us to be free," she smiled brightly. The smile was so big that the little chameleon couldn't help but share the smile.
"Alright, time to go," they heard Captain Frost speak. Rapunzel nodded as placed Pascal onto her shoulder who jokingly tied a bit of her long golden hair around his waist as a life support.
"Alright, I am ready," Rapunzel stepped towards the balcony but Captain Frost thrust out his hand and stopped her with a shake of his head.
"Actually, no you're not."
"Excuse me?" Rapunzel scoffed. "I don't need anything in my room, what could I possibly be missing?"
Captain Frost crossed his head as he eyed Rapunzel up and down, making her feel vulnerable.
"What are-"
"Your dress, you can't expect to escape in that…Can you?" Captain Frost said, cutting her off.
"Well what else am I supposed to escape in? All I have are dresses," Rapunzel explained, planting her hands on her hips. On her shoulder Pascal mimicked her.
"Well we just have to do something about that, won't we?" Captain Frost said un-crossing his arms, a devilish smile spreading across his pale lips.
"Like what-?"
But she was cut off as Captain Frost pulled out a hidden dagger and sliced the lace of her front corset. Her dress loosened around her chest and fell to the floor. She screamed out in terror.

Gothel and Flynn made it to the bottom of Rapunzel's tower, along the way they had gathered some of the island guards. They gathered around the tower door trying to catch their breath back.
"Alright," Flynn said as he gathered his breath and stood straight. "We will be heading up to Rapunzel's tower-" Flynn was explaining until they heard Rapunzel's screams.
"Rapunzel!?" Gothel scream after her daughter, terror masking her face.
Flynn clenched his teeth. He then turned to the nearest guard and pulled out their sword. "You three! Come with me! The rest stay with Gothel!" Flynn ordered as he ripped open the door and stormed up the stairs, three guards following close behind.

Captain Frost quickly covered Rapunzel's open mouth. "Do you want to wake the whole island!? Christ!" he hissed as he watched Rapunzel's glaring eyes. He removed his hand, as he did Rapunzel tried to cover her chest with the ripped fabric.
"How could you!? She yelled. "This was my favourite dress!"
"You couldn't move around in it and also it would have given us away or you would have lost it on the ship," Captain Frost explained and he shielded his dagger once more.
Rapunzel let out a breath, "I suppose your right." She gripped the fabric as she eyed him, "but turn around! So I can at least make myself proper in this state."
Captain Frost rolled his eyes but his as he was told. Behind him he could hear the ruffles of the fabrics as Rapunzel tossed it aside somewhere. He could also hear something else but he couldn't put a name to the sound.
"Alright, you can turn around now," he heard Rapunzel say quietly. He let out a breath of relief that she didn't take to log and turned on his heel to see her. When he did, his heart stopped.
Rapunzel stood in the moonlight with her cream undergarments. Her now full chest just bulged out of their corset and her baggy pants fit loosely around her legs. She had taken off her flats but left her hair in its braid along with the flowers, but now strands of hair were starting to come free.
"What are you looking at?" Rapunzel asked when Captain Frost didn't say anything after a long time. He shook his head and cleared his throat, tearing his eyes away from her.
"Uhh, nothing, nothing," he stuttered, trying to keep himself under control.
"Ookay," Rapunzel said as she rubbed her bare shoulders. "Brr, its cold tonight."
Captain Frost took of his black jacket and handed it to her. "Here, wear this."
"But wont you get cold?" Rapunzel asked as she eyed the long black jacket.
Captain Frost smiled at her, "I don't feel the cold."
Without asking anymore questions, Rapunzel took the jacket in her grasp as she did so a noise came from her stair way.
"What was that?" Rapunzel whispered as she turned to the door.
"I don't know-"
"Rapunzel!"
Rapunzel jumped back after he name being shouted from the stairway.
"Flynn?" she breathed.
"Expecting anyone?" Captain Frost implied with a nod of his head towards the door. Rapunzel shook her head quickly. She was about to speak when Flynn bursts through the door, a sword within his grasp.
"Rapunzel!" he called again before taking in the full sight of her. Rapunzel quickly glanced down at her state and he cheeks turned red, she then quickly covered herself with Captain Frost's jacket. Confused, Flynn looked around the room until his eyes fell onto Captain Frost.
"You-you-you monster!" Flynn raised his blade and charged at Captain Frost. Rapunzel let out a cry as the blade came down onto Captain Frost.
Captain Frost heard Rapunzel screamed and quickly pulled out his dagger, deflecting Flynn's sword. Rapunzel stood shocked as Flynn was pushed away from Captain Frost.
"Well I think its time we left," Captain Frost said simply as he shielded his dagger. "Come on Blondie." He then picked Rapunzel up in her surprised state and threw her over his shoulder.
"Blondie?" she managed to whisper. The name taking her to a memory.

Jack had her by the hand, running towards the crystal lake. Their laughter made the island farmers look up from their work and smile at them as they raced by.
"Jack, where are you going?" Rapunzel called as she tried to keep up with the brown headed boy, he was always much more athletic than herself.
"Come on Blondie!" Jack replied as he threw a smile over his shoulder for her, completely ignoring her question. "The lake awaits!" and with that Jack ran faster, tugging her along with him.

"Rapunzel!"
Gothel's screaming voice brought Rapunzel back to the present where she was bent over Captain Frosts shoulder escaping through the balcony. Rapunzel got one look of her mother's horrified face before Captain Frost turned towards her mother, blocking the view.
"We will be leaving now," Captain Frost said backing up against the railing of the balcony. Flynn, the island guards and Gothel stood in front of him.
"Not without your life!" Flynn swung his blade but missed as Captain Frost nimbly jumped onto the railings edge. Rapunzel gave out a cry of surprise.
"Light on your feet, aren't you?" Flynn praised through gritted teeth, the blade still firm within his grasp.
Captain Frost shrugged, "I try."
"Put my daughter down you scoundrel!" Gothel screamed as she started for her daughter, but Captain Frost spun so she couldn't reach the golden haired beauty that lay across his shoulder.
"Not on your life," Captain Frost said coldly, so cold that Rapunzel shivered from the tone in his voice.
Gothel stepped back a few steps, having heard that same tone so many years ago she was shocked. "You…" she whispered pointing to Captain Frost. He only winked at her before jumping off the edge of the railing, plummeting the depths below with Rapunzel screaming like a dyeing cat.
"Rapunzel!" Flynn cried out as he lent over the railing. He jumped up and was about to jump when a guard stopped him.
"Don't, you might just kill yourself," the guard warned as he held Flynn's elbow tightly. Flynn nodded his head in understanding and jumped back down from the railing. He looked around the railing to comfort Gothel but she was nowhere in sight.
"Where is lady Gothel?" Flynn addressed the guard that had just saved his life.
"She went back into Lady Rapunzel's room Sir," another guard answered. Flynn nodded his head in thanks and retrieved back into Rapunzel's room where he found Gothel seated before a painting.
"Lady Gothel this is no time to admire the art work, we must find your daughter's body or at least find her in one piece!" Flynn said as he approached the spot Gothel was sitting at.
"Sir Flynn, what do you see in this picture?" Gothel said calmly. This alarmed Flynn for what kind of mother would act so calmly after her daughter was just pulled off a balcony railing?
"I do not think this is the time-"
"I asked what you saw in my daughters painting, not what time it was," Gothel hissed, turning her head towards him but keeping her eyes to the floor. "Now again, Sir Flynn, what do you see in this painting?"
Flynn let out an angry breath before turning his gaze to the painting on Rapunzel's wall. It was a boy with brown hair and blue eyes, the structure looked familiar but Flynn didn't know where he had seen this young man before.
"I see I boy, my lady, just a boy," Flynn confirmed looking back at Gothel.
"Just as I thought, but doesn't this boy seem familiar in some way to you?"
Flynn was taken back, it was as if Gothel had read his mind. "In a way it does Lady."
"Just as I thought," Gothel repeated as she stood herself up, dusting any dust that might have gathered on her red skirts. "Take a few of the islands men and look for my daughter, I have no doubt that the imposter has kept her alive," Gothel instructed Flynn.
"Of course Lady," Flynn bowed, "I will find your daughter."
"Make sure you do, if she escapes the island I will not be happy."
Flynn nodded his head and gathered a few men and left the tower leaving Gothel where she stood.
"What would you like us to do my Lady?" one of the guards who was left behind asked Gothel as she approached a drawer of Rapunzel's desk.
"Tell the guests to keep partying on, we do not want any interruptions before we can retrieve my daughter," Gothel instructed as she pulled out a paintbrush and a tub of white paint from the drawer. She approached the painting of Jack.
"Of course lady," the guard bowed and left with the others to carry out her wishes.
After they left Gothel opened the tub of white paint and swirled the paint brush inside it. She then pulled it out and carefully traced the brown strokes of Jacks hair. When she was finished she let out an alarming gasp and dropped the tub of white paint. The glass shattered at her feet as the white paint oozed between the cracks of the stoned floor.
