This chap is going to tell a little bit of what I imagine could happen with Dani. I really like her character and I think it was not really well used in the show, they should have paid a little more of attention to her, and not just a few appearances here and there... Well, that is my opinion.

About Dani

The world is safe. It's been months since the Desasteroid event and the people's lives were already back to normal. It was a bright sunny day and Dani was flying happily through the blue sky. She has already been in all kind of different places in the whole world and it was amazing.

She sat on a mountain observing the sundown slowly begin to change the colors of the sky to an orange mixed with pink and purple. She looked down at the view, it was breath taking. She was currently in Japan, the other side of the world from the country she had being born. She didn't understand what people there were saying, but it didn't matter to her, she didn't need to talk to ask for food or a place to stay, she just improvised. And she liked that life style. No rules, no school, no one bossing her around. Her life was an adventure, never knowing where she'd wake up the next day.

Looking at the people passing by without noticing her, she spotted a few groups of humans, normal humans; those small groups were probably friends and families. She could see some of them, there was a couple with some children, there was two elderly couples entering in a restaurant, there was a few groups of teens and young adults going out and having fun together. And there was a few children playing and running around another couple.

And that's when she remembered the dark side of her life style. Even if she wanted, she could never have that. She didn't have friends and she didn't have a family. How could she? Dani was a clone of a boy who is half ghost. Sure, having ghost powers was really nice and it helped living the way she does, but that's it. It was hard to admit, but even if she tried hard to push the thought away, she knew she was lonely.

"Well, I still have my cousin." She remembered herself, and then muttered "Even though he's more like a progenitor non father than a cousin anyway."

"I wonder how he's been. Maybe I should visit him more often." A bird near looked at the half ghost girl moving its head and making funny noises " And maybe I should stop talking to myself."

By the end of that week, she was back in Amity Park, floating around searching for Danny and his friends. After a long time, she saw a trace of him; it was Skulker, the greatest ghost hunter of the ghost zone. That meant she was probably close to the one she wanted to see.

"Come on, whelp, is that all you got?" he asked with irony in the voice, she flew closer and unnoticed, finally, she saw Danny frowning angrily at the hunter ghost "I guess you're not strong enough to beat my improvements, I guess I'll finally have your pelt in my room."

"Gross." Both halfas replied at the same time, even though they didn't realize that.

"Keep dreaming you ecto-plasmic scum! You won't touch my baby boy!" Maddie exclaimed. Danny's face turned red from embarrassment.

"Mom, dad, I already told you, I don't need any help!"

"Don't be silly, Danny-boy." Jack said, "We'll do this anyway."

Danny rolled his eyes. Since his parents discovered his secret when he saved the world from the Desasteroid, his parents always tried to get on the way of his ghosts fights.

He sighed irritated. "I think I rather when they were trying to tear me apart 'molecule by molecule'". He muttered under his breath.

Suddenly he got blasted by an angry and ignored Skulker. Dani figured it was time for action and shoot the mechanical armor on the jet thing that made him fly. The object started to malfunction, turning the speed too high, which made him fly away.

"Gee, it's so easy to beat him." Dani laughed. Floating lower, stopping only when she was face to face with Danny, only a few feet from the ground.

"Danielle, you're back!" He exclaimed happy to see her again.

"Ghost!" Jack yelled pointing his Fenton Bazooka at the girl and pushing the trigger.

The green blast passed too close from her for comfort, he's being practicing a lot lately, and with Danny's help and tips, he was almost hitting the target. Maddie did the same, but before she got time to pull the trigger, Danny entered in front of her with extended hands, yelling "Stop, stop! She's not a threat!"

Both his parents lowered their guns apologizing.

"Mom, dad, could you please stop pointing your weapons at any ghost that cross your sight? Seriously, you'll end up eliminating all of my few allies! Last month you almost made Frostbite, who came through the ghost portal, regret asking for help to retrieve the infi-map, again."

"Sorry honey, old habits are hard to change." His mother said.

"By the way, who is she?" now was his father's turn to say.

"Oh, that's right. Danielle, those are Maddie and Jack. Mom, dad, this is Danielle."

"I'm half ghost too." She revealed.

"Everyone is half ghost now?" Jack asked rubbing his head.

"No. It's just the three you know." His son clarified.

"Well, okay then." He replied.

Maddie and Jack got a great likening towards the halfa girl. She was sweet, ecstatic and energetic, though a bit shy as well. In other words, she was a lot like Danny. And, after all, she is Danny's clone, both halfas told his parents everything they been through together, and when she said she was traveling alone around the world, the exited faces of Maddie and Jack changed into a worried look.

"But you're so young!" the woman protested "You can't stay all alone over the world!"

"No, that's okay, I'm used to it anyway. And I can handle myself pretty well."

"It must be a living adventure, but don't you get lonely once in a while?" as Jack asked, Dani's smile evanished, she tried to hide it, however, they noticed.

"Not at all." She lied.

Danny looked down. He already knew what would happen with him if he ever loses everyone who is important for him, and he didn't like that future. Dani was different. She wasn't born in a family like him; she didn't have the opportunity to make friends like him. Yet, she was alone, and no one likes or deserves to be lonely.

His parents insisted that she could stay overnight, she reluctantly accepted. She ended up staying through the whole weekend, though. Dani had an awfully good time with the Fenton's, and that was what she was afraid of, deep down, she didn't want to go.

Early in that Sunday, she woke up, grabbed her stuff and phased herself through the ceiling to the roof. She was already in her ghost form, looking at the sky. The sun was rising, pushing the darkness of night away. She took a deep breath.

"It's time to go."

She barely noticed, but her eyes were getting wet as she started to fly away. "Just where do you think you're going?" Dani suddenly stopped as she heard Danny's voice behind her, it took a second or two for her to realize it wasn't her imagination. Noticing the teardrops starting to escape her eyes, she didn't dare to turn around.

"I have to go, Danny. That's not my place." She said almost being able to hide her trembling sad tone "Besides, I still have so much to see, the world is enormous, you know."

"Yeah, I know. But I also know that whenever you're with the people you love, any place in the world is enough." He said in a serious, yet smooth tone of voice "You can call this house a home."

"No, I can't. Don't you get it?" the girl almost yelled as she finally turned around to face him floating in his ghost form "I can not stay."

"Why? Because you're a half ghost in a ghost hunting house? Well, so am I." he asked not raising his voice, keeping his patience, after all, he noticed she was too emotional for her normal self "Look, I talked with my parents and Jazz, they all agreed for you to live with us and become part of our family. We like you a lot, you know."

"It's not only that, Danny. You see, I might be just a kid, but I'm not stupid. Danny, think about it, I was created with twelve-years-old. I don't have a birth certificate, I don't have school report, and I don't even have an ID card. In other words, I officially don't exist."

She was struggling to not cry and sob, but she was failing. And then, Danny knew that it was what it hurts her the most. He flew closer and hugged her small frame; she embraced him and couldn't hold the tears anymore, now falling like a waterfall.

"It's gonna be okay, Dani." He comforted. "We'll fix it, somehow. You'll see."

That day, he talked with his parents about the documents detail, everyone, even Jazz had forgotten about it. Maddie and Jack decided to take her in like a daughter, like she was born from them, and since she has Danny's DNA, it would be shown in a DNA test that they were her parents. It'd be hard to explain to the government why they didn't make her birth certificate when she was born, but they would try anyway, after all, she was already part of the family. With the help of a bit of overshadowing power, they manage to get it pretty quickly.

With the birth certificate in hands, would be easy to get the ID card. Dani was actually thrilled; she officially existed in the world now.

And then came the school report problem. Sure, Danny could overshadow Lancer and create fake reports for her, but that wouldn't be enough, he'd have to overshadow the entire school to make it believable. So, they'd have to do something different. Tucker suggested to hack another school's program and create the fake reports there so she could transfer to Casper High. But if someone, anyone, get suspicious and investigate, they would all be in a big trouble. So they tried something else instead.

Maddie, Jack, Dani and even Danny went to the school to talk with Mr. Lancer and try to explain Dani's particular situation. To preserve Dani's secret identity, they told him that she's been lost since she was a little kid, and they only found her recently. The story was fit for a drama movie or a long soap opera, but it worked, as Lancer got teary eyes. He agreed to do everything he could to help the girl. For the students, they said she was on a different school, and after her regular classes, she took extra lessons and tests to fulfill the reports she should have.

Dani had to study a lot, and she got a big help from Jazz, but then she went to college and Danny, Maddie and even Tucker and Sam tried to help her. She's never been happier, she finally had everything she wanted when she was watching people around the world. She could sit at the table for a good and healthy dinner with people she liked and that liked her back.

Two years passed, Danny was already seventeen, Dani had just turned fifteen and Jazz was nineteen, visiting whenever she could, though her college studies to be a great psychologist kept her very busy. The halfa girl was already used to be part of a family, having duties and homework, even the extra ones.

At school, she made friends as well as 'enemies'. There was this girl, Tabitha; she was like a second Paulina, only meaner and smarter, and maybe not as pretty, she was in the same school year as Dani, and Tabitha liked to provoke her. The half ghost girl didn't like it at all and she wanted payback.

It started as small pranks, Danny noticed, just like he did with Dash years before. Putting, or better, phasing stuff like toilet paper on Tabitha's locker or overshadowing her or a friend to make the popular girl look ridiculous. Nevertheless, it was not enough for Dani, and then she decided to get Tabitha's newest iPhone to teach her a lesson and not show around her new gadgets. Danny saw when she phased her hand into the locker and deliberately grabbed the cellphone and put it in her pocket.

"Come on, Danny, stole is a strong word. I'd say I borrowed it."

"Yes, without her permission." He replied after he had told her what he saw. They were on the school building's roof, having a private conversation "Dani, this is seriously wrong!"

"Relax, Danny, I'm not gonna keep it, I'll give it back. In time."

"No, you're going to give her back right now."

"You're not the boss of me. You're not my father, you can't order me to do anything!"

"Dani, I'm serious! You have to understand that your actions have consequences! Take responsibility for what you do."

She rolled her eyes, not paying attention. He sighed sadly. An idea crossed his mind. He could tell her how he learned to have caution about the consequences of his acts. Talk about Dan Phantom was actually something he didn't want to do, but he'd do this if it were necessary.

"I know you probably had to steal to survive when you were alone, but things are different now." He explained. "Look, Dani, I learned about my responsibilities the hard way. And I'm going to tell you everything. You may find it hard to believe, but I almost turned into a powerful evil ghost because I was selfish. It all started with the C.A.T. test."

He told her everything, from how he accidentally ended up with the answers to Clockwork saving his family, friends and Mr. Lancer in the right moment after his intense fight with his evil future self. The most important thing was probably how he felt devastated when he thought she had lost them all.

Dani listened to the story with attention, not interrupting him once until he got at the end of it. When he finished, telling her the thermos with Dan was with Clockworks, he stopped and they fell in silence for a few moments. She looked at him carefully; he seemed sadder and more fragile than she had ever seen. Danny was always energetic, brave and courageous; she got used to see him like that, the boy who was getting close to be a young man she learned to love as a brother. It was hard for her to believe what she was seeing.

"It's still hurts, right? What you could have become." She asked "Are you still afraid of becoming him?"

He took a deep breath, sorrow and pain was visible in his blue eyes. "Every day and every night. I have to keep reminding me that so I wont let myself turn into him. It gets easier every year that passes, but deep down, I'm still afraid of it."

"Danny…"

"That's why I told you to give it back. I know how hard it is to not take advantage of our powers. But you have to resist it, because the same thing might happen with you, after all, we have the same DNA." he sighed again "It all started with something stupid, I mean, cheating on dumb C.A.T. test, come on! Who could ever imagine it!" he sounded frustrated. "Dani, just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should."

She nodded looking at the iPhone she 'stole' from Tabitha. "I guess I understand now. I'm sorry."

She returned the cellphone within the next hour.

A few months after that, Danny began to prepare himself to try to enter in NASA because he wanted and dreamed to be an astronaut since he was a little kid. He was so certain of what he wanted to be that it almost made Dani envy, because she had no idea at all. Sometimes, she got confused if she wanted the same thing as him or if she wanted something different, and, if that was the case, what would it be?

And that's when she started to feel like she was losing her individuality. Was she supposed to be a clone of Danny and do the same things as he did and like or was she supposed to be herself? Who was she, actually? Dani was so lost in her doubts that she began to withdraw from her family.

Maddie and Jack were worried, but she wouldn't say a thing. Jazz was usually the one to notice this kind of stuff, but she was away at college, she couldn't help. And Danny was preparing to enter at NASA; he was so into it that it took him days to notice her odd behavior and weeks to figure out why.

"Dani, what's going on with you?"

"Nothing, I told you." She said annoyed.

"That's not true. Dani, you know you can trust me, right? You know I'd do anything to help and save you, right?"

"Yes, I know." She said resisting to roll her eyes, sitting up on her bed where se was laying while reading a magazine, giving him space to sit down next to her "Where do you want to go with it?"

"Are you unhappy here?"

Suddenly, she froze with the question, realizing the seriousness of the conversation. "What do you mean?"

"I know you love us all like a family and we all love you very much too. We both like a lot of similar stuff, but at the same time, you like a lot of different things too. I noticed you're lately avoiding the things we both like, in fact, you seem to almost hate it. Why are you doing that?"

The beautiful sky blue eyes of Dani got wet and she wiped it away with the back of her hands. "I didn't mean to hurt you or anything."

"I know, but why?"

"Because… I'm confused. I don't really know who I am anymore. I know I am your clone, but… Am I just that?"

"Of course not!" the intensity with witch he spoke startled her for a second or two. "Dani, you're an amazing beautiful and unique girl and I won't let anyone, not even yourself, tell otherwise, you got that?"

"Okay." She said in a sad tone.

"However, I think you do need to have a little more time for yourself and then discover what you'll want to be. I don't really like this idea, but I think we might talk to mom and dad about an exchange program for you. There is, if that's what you wan-" he was cut in midsentence when she hugged him tightly around the neck.

"Thank you!" she exclaimed, "I was actually thinking about just that!"

Maddie and Jack didn't like the idea of Dani going to another country to finish high school, they tried to resist, until Danny convinced them it was the right thing to do. Dani decided to go to England; it was a place she liked to visit back when she was homeless.

It was hard to see Dani parting, for everyone, even Sam and Tucker who were already used to having the girl around. However, as she watched them waving goodbye at the airport, she wasn't sad or uneasy, because now she knew she had a home and a family to come back to. People she loved and that also loved her, people she could trust and ask for help whenever she needed.

"So, Danny helped me get stabilized, saving me." Dani summed up "A few years later, I felt lonely and came to him, he welcomed me and introduced me to his parents. You two took me in like a daughter and I was very glad at it, but you know what… I didn't have any kind of document, not a birth certificate, or an ID card, nothing at all. So we had to forge it all up. We ended up inventing a crazy story that I was a lost daughter and we had to overshadow a few people here and there, but it was for a good cause." She finished shrugging.

"That was quite a story…" Jack whispered to no one in particular.

"Yes." His wife agreed, "I guess we need a moment to absorb it all."

"I believe that, also." Dani said with a small smile.

"And what about that evil ghost we just fought?" The adult man asked.

"I rather not talk about him, at least not now." Dani looked reluctantly at the door, on the other side, was Danny and Andy, they all remembered how the little boy was shaken up, and so they dropped the subject, for now. "Oh, Tucker, do you have the thermos he's trapped in?"

"Sure." He handed it to her.

"Thanks." She said as she started pressing buttons on it.

"What are you doing?" the Goth girl asked not containing the curiosity.

"As I said, it's a special and improved thermos developed by the Fentons. The original one is just supposed to hold the ghost so we can send them back to the Ghost Zone, however, this one was created to be a real prison. It can only contain one single ghost. It can also make the ghost inside to fall into numbness sleep for eternity and it can only be unlocked with a password."

"What do you mean with numbness sleep?" Jazz asked raising an eyebrow.

"Ghosts are dead, so they don't really sleep, however this prison thermos can induce them to do so. Dan Phantom, the ghost we fought, was trapped in a common thermos for over fifteen years. He was getting mad; it was obvious. All he could think about over the years was revenge. He was fuelled up with intense rage and that's why it was so hard to beat him. Feelings have a direct effect on our powers. Thinking about that possibility, Jack and Maddie came up with this Fenton Prison Thermos, designed to be a like an ultimate ghost cage."

"I guess we came up with this idea in the right time."

"Yep. A few years from now." Dani agreed with Maddie's commentary.

"Okay, but why did you bring two?" Tucker asked with her backpack on his hands. "I mean, if you came because Clockwork told us in the future that the Fenton Thermos with Dan Phantom was missing, you'd know only one would be necessary, right?"

"Yes, that was the main reason I came here, but we don't know who we're up against. We don't know the motives or how powerful the enemy can be. We don't even know if it's human or ghost, but it probably is a ghost, after all, so does the majority of Danny's enemies."

"And that was why you brought the extra one." Sam stated.

"Exactly."

Danny left a groan escape his mouth as he started to wake up, feeling his body ache everywhere. He moved his legs slowly, and tried to sit up, though his muscles didn't obey, leaving him laid down. He could hear the people in a room near, looking around, he noticed he was back in his house, on his sofa and the voices he heard faintly probably came from the kitchen.

He could hark Dani telling everything about how they met and how he stabilized her and then she said things he did not remember. Oh yes, she's from the future, of course I won't remember. Afterwards, they started talking about the new thermos she brought with her.

"Are you feeling better?"

Andy's smooth voice asked making Danny turns his blue eyes to face the little boy. Andy's eyes were a bit red and puffy, like he's been crying for a while; he had a worried expression as well.

"Yeah, kiddo, I guess I-" he cut the sentence with a groan and winced when Andy suddenly hugged him tightly. As he noticed Danny's reaction, he quickly backed away.

"Sorry, I didn't want to hurt you."

"That's okay, you just need to be a little more gentle."

The boy nodded and tried to hug him again, in a slower and softer way this time. Danny raised his hand to mess with Andy's raven black hair.

"Do you wanna lay here with me for a while? You must be tired too, right? I saw you using ghost powers as well."

"I don't believe I can talk about it. And yes, I'm a bit tired." He said rubbing his eyes, realizing he was actually really sleepy. It was a busy and shocking day for the five-year-old kid.

Taking the teen's suggestion, Andy squeezed himself on the tiny space on Danny's side on the widish sofa. That was not really what Danny had in mind, he meant for the boy to sit in another part of the sofa, not in the space between Danny and the end of the fitment. Danny decided to put his arms around the boy's figure, so he wouldn't fall over.

"Andy, are you half ghost as well?"

"No…"

"Then why do you have those powers? Some kind of accident?"

"No… I was… born like that."

"What? But that's impossible."

"Hey, you're the one who is a ghost and human at the same time. That's supposed to be impossible too." The boy joked yawning, if Danny could see his face, would know his eyes were almost completely closed from sleep.

"I need to know why you came to the past. It's dangerous and you're risking yourself too much." Danny stopped as he heard the slow and constant breathing of the sleeping boy. "Andy? Are you asleep?" there was no response.

"I guess he is." Sam's voice came to the room, he looked at the door that linked the living room with the kitchen and she was standing there, watching both of them. She walked slowly to them and silently sat on the edge of the sofa, on the wide empty space next to their heads. There was a moment of silence, before she spoke.

"How are you feeling?"

"A bit sore and tired, but that's all." He looked at Andy and laughed a little as he observed in a joyful way "This small boy stuck to me like glue."

She let her self smile, though it wasn't a big one. "Danny." She called getting his attention "Do you think that, maybe, Andy is your son in the future?"

Sam is smart, isn't she?
