I'm sorry about the long wait… like almost a year. Also, there will be a MINOR plot change that I told you wouldn't change, but it will. Don't worry, Bella is NOT going to lose the baby. But... Yeah. Anyway, just keep with me. Please! Also, this is a long chapter. The reason is because I don't have time to right several small chapters and then update. So, instead I wrote a really long chapter to sustain you until I get back in gear.

BPOV:
When we made it to my dad's house, the kids immediately ran into the kitchen where I was almost positive Sue was cooking something for us to eat. Edward sighed as he, Will, and my dad were left with the luggage. I started to help, but Edward quickly shooed my away with a stern look.

That was one part of pregnancy I was not looking forward to. Nine months of Edward's constant protectiveness. "No, you can't pick that up" and "Bay, you should rest. Go rest." It gets old quite fast.

I walked into the kitchen and sat down at the island. Laney was sitting on the counter next to Sue, who was stirring a pot on the stove. Kate was seated to my right, and I could already see Masen and Cash outside with the dog.

"So how are things down there?" Sue asked.

I shrugged. "Same ole, same ole." I answered.

"I heard someone got second in state for archery." Sue bragged.

Laney blushed.

"And that someone else got a solo in ballet and jazz."

Kate blushed, looking a lot like her sister.

I smiled.

Both Laney and Kate were involved in dancing, archery, and choir, but despite Kate's more tomboyish style, she liked dancing more than her girlier sister. Laney had fallen in love with archery the moment she picked up her first bow. However, the both loved singing. Kate was in choir at her school, while Laney was in an A Capella group at her high school.

Still, there were certain moments when I could see Laney in Kate. When she shrugged innocently with a smug grin. Or when she blushed when someone spoke highly of her, yet at the same time would brag with an almost snobby shrug and flip of her bangs.

"I'm just glad you girls found things you enjoy doing. I was never much into hobbies." Sue commented.

"You make jewelry." Kate said.

Sue nodded. "But that wasn't until later, dear. Lane, would you grab the celery from the fridge?"

Laney nodded and hopped down from the cabinet. She handed the bag to Sue after taking one stalk out a nibbling on it. Sue gave her a mock glare, but Laney only shot her a crinkly nosed smile before hopping back on the counter.

Sue started chopping the celery just as the guys walked in.

"So how are things at work, Edward?" Sue asked.

"Fine. Busy, but good." He said as he wrapped an arm around my shoulders.

"Anything interesting lately?" Charlie asked.

Edward smirked, but he shook his head. He was thinking about that Chevelle no doubt. "Not too much."

"Are you all going to the party down in La Push tomorrow?" She asked.

"Probably." I answered, looking at Edward.

He nodded.

"When's dinner going to be ready?" Cash asked.

"In about an hour." Sue answered with a smile.

He groaned.

"Cash." I chided. "Patience, please."

"Fine."

"Hey, mom, can Will and I go outside?" Laney asked.

I nodded. "Yes, but be careful."

The rest of the kids went into the living room along with Edward and my dad. I stayed with Sue and helped her cook dinner. I found it extremely difficult to not tell her that I was pregnant, but I managed not to blurt it out. I was a little nervous, but at the same time, I couldn't wait for everyone to know. Five was going to be a handful, but Edward and I could handle it. It was always our plan to have a little circus.

When dinner was ready, we all went into the living room since the table in the dining room couldn't fit all of us. When we were all finished, I helped pick up the plates and then went back into the living room.

"So Edward and I have some news." I started.

Sue looked as if she already knew, and Charlie looked a bit confused.

"I'm pregnant."

Sue screeched and gathered Edward and me in a hug. I think she have even been crying. Charlie was a lot more reserved, but I could tell he was excited.

"I'm so happy for you." Sue stated, moving on to hug the kids. "I could tell there was something going on. You are absolutely glowing."

Charlie stood up and gave me a hug. "Congrats, Bells."

"Thanks, Daddy."

"So when are you due?" Sue asked.

"September." Edward answered.

"This is so exciting. I can't wait."

I laughed. "Neither can I."

We spent the rest of the night not paying attention the the television and talking to each other instead. We talked about the new baby, our babies that were growing up, and upcoming events for the kids. They were all so full of life, just like their father. Their eyes lit up when they spoke, and they made wild gestures with their hands. It was actually quite adorable.

But as happy as all of my kids were, from the corner of my eye, I saw Will not quite as happy. He wasn't miserable, but I knew something was bothering him. Honestly, I was a little scared to find out.

The next morning I was woken up by light kisses on my neck and jawline. I giggled, and ran my hands through Edward's hair.

"Time to wake up, baby."

"No." I groaned.

"Yes." I could feel his face right above mine, mere inches away.

Slowly, I opened my eyes. Just as I did, Edward flashed a blinding smile before kissing me deeply. My eyes immediately closed, and I grabbed at his hair.

"Good morning." He greeted as we parted.

"Hmm. It is." I answered before kissing him chastely.

A knock on the door interrupted us.

"We're leaving in about an hour and a half." Charlie called through the door.

"Okay." We both answered.

Edward sighed and hid his face in my neck, placing light kisses on it. "I love you."

"I love you, too." I replied, pulling his face to mine.

"Stop teasing." He complained.

I laughed. "Sorry."

"No, you're not."

"No. I'm not." I smiled.

He gave me his own crooked smile in return before getting out of bed.

I groaned.

He smirked and picked me up, setting me on my feet on the floor.

"Jerk."

"Your jerk."

"My cheeseball."

He made a kissing face before turning to his duffel.

I rolled my eyes and went to my own bag. I got out my dark jeans, a long sleeved shirt, and a cardigan. As I was hopping into my jeans, I heard a chuckle from behind me.

"What?" I asked, buttoning them.

"Some things never change is all."

I rolled my eyes.

"Like that." He laughed.

I fought to roll my eyes again. I must be where Kate gets it from.

"Ten years and I still know what you're going to do before you're about to do it." He said and hugged me tight.

"Diddo." I giggled, hugging him back.

Edward had always been a little pro PDA, not clingy, but he definitely was not the type of guy that was anti-cuddling. That had not changed at all. If anything, he was even more touchy-feely. But I didn't mind. At. All.

Then I noticed what he was wearing, and let me just say that camo never looked so good. He was wearing his worn out jeans and camouflage hoodie.

I turned away, knowing I would never finish getting ready if I didn't.

"I'll go see if the kids are up."

"Kay."

When I went downstairs, all of my boys were in the kitchen.

"Where's and Lane and Kate?"

"Laney's doing Kate's hair." Edward answered.

I nodded and went back up the stairs to their room.

"Almost done?" I asked, peaking my head in.

"Yep. Just one more part to do." Laney answered.

Edward was going to have an aneurysm.

Laney was in scarlet skinny jeans and a black camisole with an ivory crochet sweater on top. The neckline was high and went across her shoulders, but the back went into a deep V to the small of her back. She had on a pair of black western boots and her hair was curled, hanging halfway down her back.

"Your dad see that outfit, yet?"

"I don't know. Why?"

"That sweater."

"You like? I made it myself."

Of course she did. "Has your dad seen it before?"

"I'm wearing a shirt underneath. And my hair is down." She fought.

"Okay, but if he makes you change, don't come to me."

"He'll be fine." She answered, going back to Kate's hair.

Kate was wearing black jeans and a chunky purple sweater with black winter boots. Laney had her hair in French braided into messy pigtails.

"I'll meet you two downstairs. We're leaving soon."

"Kay!" They both called as I made my way down the stairs.

Five minutes later, Kate walked down the stairs with Laney on her heels.

"Ready?" I asked.

They nodded.

"Then let's go. Pawpaw and MeMe already left." I said, ushering them out the door.
When Laney turned, I looked at Edward. His eyes widened a little, but he didn't say anything about it. I decided to let it go for now. I guess the high neck and camisole were enough to appease him for now.

When we got to the house, I looked at Edward. "Behave."

He smiled innocently before getting out of the car.

I sighed and followed behind him.

He loved to torment Jacob, who was still harboring a bit of a grudge toward us. It got old after the first year, but Edward still liked to mess with him and piss him off. It was like some huge game of who can piss each other off first when they got together. Edward always one. After all, he did get the girl.

I smiled to myself.

"We're gonna walk on the beach." Laney said.

"Okay. Don't go too far down." Edward said.

She nodded and started to walk away.

"And text me in an a half hour if you're not back."

She nodded again and waved to us before grabbing Will's hand.

"Hey, Ma?" Cash asked.

"What?"

"Is the food gonna be bad like last time?" He asked.

I laughed. "Probably." I whispered.

He made a face. "But I'm starving."

"I stashed some snacks in the car." Edward said proudly.

I slapped his arm. Snacks meant sugar. Lots of sugar.

"Ow. What? I'm not gonna let my kids starve." He laughed.

"You could have least packed some fruit or something."

"I packed gummy bears, which is sorta like a fruit."

I slapped him on the back of his head.

"Stop." He whined, wrapping his arms tight around me, making it impossible for me to move.

"Bella!" I turned my head and saw Billy, my dad's best friend, coming towards me on his wheel chair.

"Hey, Billy." I greeted and bent down to give a hug once Edward let go of me.

"So how are you?" He asked, eyeing Edward. Like father, like son, I suppose.

"Great. Perfect. Amazing." I gloated, wrapping my arms around Edward's torso.

"That's...good." Billy said and smiled awkwardly before looking at the kids. "You three keep on growing."

Cash and Masen puffed out their chests, while Kate smiled shyly.

I laughed and moved one of my hands to rest it on Masen's head. "Yep."

"Well, don't be shy. Get something to eat. We have more than enough to go around."

"But Masen and Cash said-," Kate was cut off by Masen covering her mouth with his hand.

"The food was awesome last year, sir." Masen saved.

Billy smiled. "Well, go ahead and get you some. I'll see you all around." He said and wheeled himself away.

"Nice going, Katie." Cash said and tugged one of her pigtails.

She stuck out her tongue. "Well."

"Go play." Edward fussed pushing the kids towards the beach.

I laughed and walked with him towards the deck.

"There you are." Sue called. "You remember Leah, my niece."

"Of course. Hi, Leah."

Her eyes stayed on my husband, and mine narrowed.

Now I remember why I didn't like her. Ten years and two husbands later, she still acts like God's gift to men.

"Hi." She replied.

Edward cleared his throat and shifted uncomfortably. "I'm gonna grab something drink. You want anything, bay?"

I shook my head. "I'll just have some of yours."

"So how are your kids, you have two right?"

"Four." I corrected, fighting the urge to roll my eyes.

"Oh. How nice. Must be a handful."

"Sometimes."

"I just have a nephew. That's quite enough for me."

"How old is he?"

"Eighteen." She answered.

"Oh. Well, I should go check on my kids. So, yeah." I said and turned to find Edward or one of my children.

"How was it?" Edward asked, taking a sip of his drink.

I made a face and stole his drink.

He chuckled and rested a hand on my hip.

"Did you hear from Laney?"

He shook his head. "Not yet. Where did she get that shirt?"

"She made it." I answered.

"Of course she did." He muttered.

I smiled at him. "It's a lot more tasteful than it could be." I told him.

"Still." He huffed.

"It is a cute sweater." I admitted.

"Bella." He whined.

I giggled and took another sip of his drink before handing it back to him. "I'm done."

"Thank you." He said and looked towards the beach. A small smile spread across his lips. "Look at them."

I turned to see Cash and Masen chasing after Kate. Kate was screeching and laughing while the boys pretended to chase her, also laughing. They could have easily caught up to her.
Edward and I had taught Cash and Masen that they could beat that crap out of each other (not that we wanted them to), but they were to never raise a finger to either of their sisters. Cash and Masen were around the same age and evenly matched in size, but Kate was teeny, and pretty soon, the boys would even be passing up Laney. It wasn't right at all for them to fight with them, physical or otherwise. Edward had done a good job at instilling respect towards women in their heads.

"We make cute babies." I commented, leaning my back into his chest.

We wrapped his arms around my shoulders and rested his chin on my head. "Yeah, we do. Although, I'm pretty sure ninety percent of that is you."

"Only ninety?" I asked, pouting.

"Well, they had to get their charm from somewhere."

I turned and slapped his chest while he laughed. "Jerk." I muttered, turning back around.
"I was kidding, baby. You have lots of charm."

"Damn right. Besides, it's not charm that you have, it's BS."
"You know me so well." He smiled and kissed my cheek before resting his chin on my head again.
"Hey, Bella." A voice greeted.
I turned and saw Vanessa, Jake's wife. She was a total sweetheart, and I had no idea how Jacob ever landed her. The world was just strange that way.
"Hey, Ness." I greeted back and gave her a hug. "How are things?"
"Good. I just got a promotion at work, so it's been kind of hectic."
"Yeah, she's right under the main boss now." Jacob said, sidling up and wrapping an arm around Vanessa's waist.
Vanessa blushed. "It's not that big of a deal."
"So how are things with you two?" He asked, looking smug.
"Great." I said, smiling up at Edward.
"How are your kids?" Vanessa asked.
"Good. Laney's starting her sophomore year next year, Cash is going to sixth grade, and the twins will be going to fifth."
"Charlie said that your daughter won some kind of award." Vanessa stated.
"Yep. Second place for state competition in archery. Edward coached her." I said proudly.
From the corner of my eye, I swear I saw Jacob gulp. I fought yet another urge to roll my eyes. He was obviously 'happily' married. I didn't understand why he saw the need to size Edward up every time they saw each other.
"Hey, Dad!" We were interrupted by Masen yelling from across the beach.
"Better go see. I'll see y'all around." Edward said before kissing my temple and running towards our son.
Jacob and Vanessa said goodbye and then walked over to Billy. I made my way to the kids and Edward where Kate was wildly speaking with her arms flailing.

"What's wrong?" I asked.

"Laney's being a jerk." Kate huffed.

I sighed. "What did she do?"

"She told me to come play with the boys because she was with Will."

"And?" Edward probed.

"And what?" Kate asked, looking upset that her father wasn't taking her side on things. He obviously didn't understand the mind of a ten year old girl.

"Edward, why don't you go play catch with the boys? I'll talk to Kate."

He nodded, looking just a tad bit afraid.

"Come on. Let's take a walk, love." I said and took Kate's hand. We walked for a minute or two before I spoke. "Honey, your sister is going to start being able to play with you less and less. She's getting older, and so are you. She has her friends and you have yours. It doesn't mean she loves you any less, though. She just...needs her space."

"What about my needs?" She cried. My little drama queen.

I laughed and knelt down in front Kate. "You have other friends. What about Irina and Carmen?"
"Laney's cooler."

I laughed. Kate completely idolized Laney. "She knows." I joked.

"Huh?"

"Katie, your sister might start hanging out with people her age, and she might not b able to play with you as much, but when you need her, she'll be there. I promise."

"Okay, but for now, will you play with me, Momma?"

"Of course, Kate."

Her face lit up and she bounced on her heels. "Yay!"

When we made it back to the boys, they were still playing catch with a football. Kate let to of my hand and ran towards Edward, giving him a hug.

"Can we play?" She asked.

Edward nodded and Kate ran to her spot. I could see him giving our sons a look that screamed 'don't throw hard to her'. It was kinda cute how Cash and Masen both nodded, knowing exactly what Edward was saying.

"I'm gonna go see how my dad is doing." I told Edward.

He nodded and gave a quick kiss. "Hurry back."

"Always." I said and gave him another kiss. A football interrupted, and the kids started to giggle.
We both pulled away with a mock glare before smiling at them.

They were their father's children.

LPOV:

I should have kept Kate here. She could have been a buffer. A fun buffer.

He was boring. I'd never noticed that before. I had always seen Will as this awesome, exciting guy. But now... Nope. He was extremely dull.

Now, I enjoyed watching History channel just as much as the next History Geek (don't judge me), but at least I had a life outside of Pawn Stars and Top Gear. Did Will? Nope, not really.
How did I never see this before?

Because he was sexy.

I rolled my eyes at myself because yes, that was very true.

I nodded at something he said because it seemed like the right thing to do, but to say that I knew what he was talking about... Nah. I wanted to know when this side of Will had emerged and why I hadn't seen it. Was it because he had acted like a complete jerk, so now I was no longer blind to the fact that Will was a real boy? Probably. Almost breaking up with your childhood best friend really opens the eyes.

Holy... Did he just say something about the force?

Oh no. This had to end. As soon as we got home. He could go to Duke or Tulane or any of us other fancy, smart people colleges. I was fine with just being friends. In fact, I think it was for the best. After all, Will deserves a girl that he could discuss the factors of quantum physics with.
Ha! What even is that?

BPOV:

"Hey, Ma." Laney said cheerily and sat on my lap.

I laughed. "Someone's in a good mood."

"Has Will always been this boring?" She whispered suddenly.

I laughed. "Oh, yeah."

"Seriously?"

I nodded.

"How did I not see that before? I'm about to claw my eyeballs out, Mom!"

"Love is blind." I sang.

She groaned and stood up.

"There you are. I hadn't heard from you since five minutes ago, Lane Darlin'." Edward teased.

Laney groaned and hugged her dad. "Save me." She groaned.

"I'm not about to develop a bromance with your soon to be ex." Edward laughed, rubbing her back.

"Daddy." She whined.

"Laney." He mocked and kissed her head. "Go. He's going to think you're avoiding him."

"I am!"

"Go."

"Fine."

Edward laughed and sat on the chair next to me.

"She's been texting you?" I asked.

He nodded and laughed. "She wanted me to look for them and make them come back, but I thought she should be open to deeper conversation."

"When did this happen?" I asked. Although, I did figure it would happen sooner or later.

Laney was a bit of a history and literature nerd, but science, math, and comic books were not her cup of tea. She loved indie music, November was her favorite month (because or deer season), and she had way more rhythm than any clumsy Cajun girl should ever be blessed with. Will was the complete opposite. Sure, opposites attract in some instances, but not in this one.

"Since today." He laughed. "They've been best friends for nearly fifteen years and she's just now discovering that Will isn't 'fun' enough for her."

It was true. Laney was the type of girl to make a snap decision like dying her hair purple and getting a tramp stamp in order to reinvent herself. She needed someone just as spontaneous (albeit a bit more responsible) as she was.

"I give it a week until she breaks." He laughed.

I slapped his bicep. "Laney's smarter than that. I give it three days."

Edward laughed. "The minute we land in Louisiana?"

I nodded.

"Can we go yet?" Cash asked, walking towards us.

"Hush." I fussed. "We'll be going home soon."

He sighed loudly and sat on the ground at my feet.

"Where Masen and Kate?" Edward asked, tapping Cash's back with his foot.

"With Lay."

Edward smirked. "And Will."

Cash nodded and rested his head on my knee, closing his eyes.

Edward stood. "I'll go get the rest of them."

"Kay."

He smiled at me before searching for the rest of our crew.

"Up, Cash. We're leaving."

"Thank you." He said dramatically and stood.

Ten minutes later, Edward had found the kids and we were done with our goodbyes. We walked towards the car and everyone piled in. The ride to my dad's house was quiet, but the silence was nice. After a hectic day, peanut and I needed some quiet time.

~~...~~

Three days later, we were all packed up and ready to go. I told Charlie goodbye, and he promised to visit again before the baby was born. Sue promised to visit MANY times before the baby was born. It was only matter of time before they moved. Sue had nothing keep her here, and Charlie had everything to bring him to Louisiana.

"I don't want to go to school on Monday." Kate complained as we waited to boarded the plane.

"You still have the weekend, Katie Love." Edward said.

"It's not enough."

"Can we go to mall tomorrow?" Laney asked.

"We'll see." I said. "It all depends how we feel. You know, we are two hours ahead in Louisiana."

"Yeah, tell me about. I went to sleep and nine and woke up at five every morning for the past four days." Laney grumbled.

"The horror." Cash gasped sarcastically.

Yep, definitely Edward's kid.

Laney rolled her eyes and slapped him upside the head.

And she was definitely mine.

"I just want to be in my bed with my silk sheets and my camo quilt and my Teagan."

"The fact that you're fourteen and have a pillow pet named Teagan." Kate giggled.

"She has sentimental value."

"You're sure you don't mean emotional support?" Will joked.

I laughed. I couldn't help it. It was the whole psychologist humor thing.

Laney glared at both of us before smiling. "Jerk." She said and nudged Will with her shoulder.
Just then, we were let onto the plane. I couldn't lie. I was just as excited as the kids were to get home.

LPOV: (outtake-ish)

Meet me the lakes? Ten minutes?

I sighed. I had sent that eight minutes ago. I had taken my regular Saturday morning jog with my Mom around the lakes earlier. She was across the lake, drinking her water and people watching while I was here, thinking. I had to figure out how I would do this.

"Hey, you." Will greeted as he sat next to me on the ground. "You look cute." He joked.

I could only imagine. I was wearing a long sleeved camouflage Under Armor shirt, purple Nike shorts, and my favorite running shoes. My hair had been in a cute messy bun this morning, but by now it was probably rat's nest. Between that, my red face and glasses, I probably looked like a mess.

"Thanks."

"What's up?" He asked. "You usually don't call until your after run shower."

"Will, we aren't the same." I said slowly.

He sighed and shook his head. "No."

"I-I don't want to cut ties with you. I just want to cut the boyfriend tie." I said, wanting face palm myself. That sounded so ridiculous.

He laughed humorlessly and rubbed the back of his neck. "I gave Duke my down payment." He stated.

"I figured."

"LSU is a great school. It's just... Not for me." He said.

"I know."

"So... What are we?" He asked.

I looked at him and smiled. "Friends?"

He smiled back and nodded.

I gave him a hug. "This is weird."

"Yeah." He said and pulled away. "It might be a while before we get back to where we were."
"It's okay." I promised. "Maybe by the time you come back from college, we'll be that way again."

"Maybe."

But he knew what I knew. We would never be the same. There probably would never be the same easiness we felt when we were together. It would always be a little more awkward than it used to be. But we could get as close to best friends as we possibly could.

"I'm gonna miss you." I said.

"I'll miss you, too, Laney." He said and threw an arm around my shoulders.

"Hey, Will?"

"Hmm?"

"Make sure you're with your next girlfriend for at least three months before you bring up your whole Star Trek fetish."

He laughed. "Star Wars." He corrected.

"Same difference."

"You don't understand the force, and I don't understand Pawnography. Breaking up was obviously the best thing we could've done."

"Definitely." I agreed.

Will stood up and helped me up. "Good luck on finding your Superman, Lane."

I laughed. Will hated Superman, but Superman was my favorite. That was probably where my whole attraction to sexy nerds thing started.

"Good luck on finding a decent Marvel movie." I joked.

"I keep telling you. You can't watch a movie about superheroes and not read the comics."

"Ha!"

Will smirked. "Come on. I'll walk you to your mom."

BPOV: (not an outtake)

"So, how did it go? Really?" I asked Laney as we walked back to the house after our Saturday morning run.

She shrugged. "Cool. We agreed that being friends was better than being in a relationship."

"That's good."

"He also said that he was going to Duke."

"It's a good school." I smiled. I was a Duke alum. I had gone there before getting my Master's at Loyola.

Laney rolled her eyes. "I'm not going there."

I laughed. "I don't want you to." I said and hugged her. "It's too far away. Besides, who would I get to babysit."

Laney crinkled her nose, and we made our way back to the house.

When we got home, I took my shower and then went on a hunt for my husband. I quickly found him the garage, working on my old Camaro.

I snuck behind him and wrapped my arms around his torso, causing him to jump and hit his head on the hood.

"Fuck." He cursed, rubbing his head.

I giggled.

"I swear that you enjoy seeing me in pain." He said and turned around, wrapping one arm around me and rubbing the back of his head with the other.

"Never. It's just cute that I scared you."

"You didn't scare me. You just surprised me." He said.

I rolled my eyes. "Oh please."

"How was your run?" He asked.

"Good. You should join us some time." I said, rubbing his flat and still incredibly toned stomach. I had to admit, for being almost forty, my husband had a very nice body.

"What are you saying?" He asked, feigning offense.

"That running with you would be more fun."

"Running with your daughter isn't?"

I shrugged. "She listens to music the entire time. She says my talking distracts her." I huffed.

Edward laughed loudly.

I hit his bicep. "Not funny."

"Stop trying to hurt me. You know, that's frowned upon in most cultures." Edward whined.
"Oh, man up." I said before walking towards the door. "Some people might think you're a pretty boy."

He threw is oily, red towel at me, but I quickly dodged it and opened the door to the house.

"Hey, Momma." A sleepy-looking Cash greeted as he sat down at the kitchen table.

"Ya hungry?" I guessed.

He nodded with a bright smile.

"I'm about to start breakfast." I told him. I looked at the clock and saw that it was only nine.
"K." He said and rested his chin in his hands. "Is Ren coming over soon?"

"I don't know. Why?" I asked.

"She called Laney last night."

Why hadn't Laney said anything? "About what?"

"Spending the summer in Florida."

"What?" I screeched. Despite the fact our relationship had gotten better, I still didn't trust her with any of my children for any extended period of time, especially for two months.

Cash cringed. "She didn't tell me. I just overheard. She wanted Kate to go, too. Laney told her no."

I sighed. "Go get your sister."

"She's going to kill me, Ma."

"Go get her, Cash."

He huffed. "Fine."

I got to work on breakfast, and Edward walked into the house. He washed his hands and then leaned on the cabinet next to me as I cooked.

"What's wrong?" He asked, seeing the annoyed expression on my face.

"My mother."

"Oh." He said. "What did she do now?"

Just then, a freshly showered Laney came into the kitchen, looking murderous. A wide-eyed Cash followed behind her.

"I told her no."

"That doesn't matter, Lane. You should have come to me or your dad."

"For what? So you could chew her out and start a fight? Mom, Ren calls me for stuff like that all the time. And I turn her down every time. She even asked me to go to a John Mayer concert. And you know how I feel about John Mayer."

She did have quite obsession with him.

"I should still know about when she calls you."

Laney nodded, looking guilty.

There was more. I knew there was more. Usually, I was correct Laney and she would huff, nod, and walk away. She only looked guilty when it was her father doing the fussing. He could be quite scary.

"What else?" Edward asked before I could.

Laney shrugged. "It's nothing."

"Laney Charlotte."

Laney sighed and looked at her brother.

"Cash, go get dressed." I said.

"But it's Saturday." He complained.

"Go."

"Fine."

"What is it?" Edward asked Laney.

She made a face and kind of cringed, as if she were preparing herself for the fury.
"I got a call from someone else the other day, wanting to meet with me." She started.
"Who?" Edward asked, lowly, as if he already knew.

I was prepared to hear a boy's name. Possibly someone from the garage. But nothing could prepare me for the name the fell from Laney's lips.

"Tanya."

A/N: I was in the mood for a little drama. I felt like I couldn't just write straight fluff (no matter how much I really, really wanted to). So, what did you think. Please, please leave a review. I promise that my next chapter will be up at some point this year. Aka: December 31... Haha? No? Didn't think so. Still, I would love to know how you feel about this chapter. So... Review!
