Chapter 7 – Actions Speak Louder

Roman was sitting in his living room. He had ESPN on the TV but wasn't really paying attention to it. It had been a couple of weeks since his parents anniversary, since he'd made love to Amaya all night long and since he'd told her she needs to tell him if she wanted a divorce or not. He hadn't spoken to her since, but never missed a chance to pick up Isaac so they could have their father/son bonding time.

Even at three Isaac was smarter than most kids his age; he was curious and was full of 'are you and mommy fixing things' questions. Roman tried to answer honestly, because he never wanted to lie to his son.

He missed his wife; he missed her scent in the house and the way she used to wake him in the middle of the night with feather kisses across his chest or arm or face and then would end up making love. It didn't matter how tired he was he would wake up and do whatever she wanted; whether it was laying there teasing and torturing her body or when she felt devious and would do it to him to turn him on.

Roman knew what he did was stupid and moronic. It was possibly the dumbest thing any man who was married to her could've done; it didn't matter, no man should've done it. It didn't matter the circumstances or what the blackmail held. He should've manned up and told Amaya what was going on. At least Seth had the balls to tell Amyra and then asked Vince to be a trainer at NXT. If he would've just done it rather than being embarrassed about the blackmail Stephanie had on him then he wouldn't have been in this place right now.

Roman was pulled from his thoughts as he heard the doorbell over the back ground noise of ESPN. He turned the TV off as he walked over and pulled the front door open. "Mom…"

Patty Reigns was staring back at her son as she fixed him with one of her famous 'mom' looks. "Roman, I think it's time we had a talk." She walked inside as he stepped to the side so she could enter the house before he closed the door and followed her into the kitchen as she started making some tea.

Oh yea it was time for one of her famous mom/son talks.

"So…Zaria – you called for this appointment. I didn't think I was going to see you anymore after the last one." Dr. Robin Clearwater stated honestly. "The floor is yours…"

Zaria folded her legs up Indian style as she sat in the middle of the couch and continued to caress her 7 month baby bump. "I recently had a visitor while staying with Seth and Amyra and I really wasn't sure how to take what he'd said to me. Actually I've had a couple of visitors since everyone found out me and Dean were taking a break."

"Okay…So these visitors – who are they as far as how they affect your life?" Robin questioned softly as she kept her full attention on Zaria.

"Well one of them Bray is a friend of mine and has been for a while and the other was Dean's best friend when he was in the Indy's. They grew apart had a huge fight and have just recently patched things up between them." Zaria sighed softly as she continued to rub her protruding belly as she could feel their baby moving very animatedly.

"Anyways, Bray came first to check on me and make sure I was doing okay and I always talk and text with him so it wasn't anything out of the ordinary, but Solomon…Solomon I'm not used to seeing him without Dean around. I am civil towards him because of Dean, but he just showed up out of the blue; completely unannounced and then starts blowing off at the mouth." Zaria could feel the tears building in her eyes once again.

"And clearly that has affected you profoundly or you wouldn't have requested this session." Robin stated. "So what was he saying to you?"

Zaria blinked as the tears slid down her cheeks. "He asked stuff like if I knew for sure that Dean wasn't dating other women while we were separated. When they were in the Indy's together Dean was a huge playboy; two or three different girls a night in the different cities they were in for events. He kept saying that 9 times out of the 10 the rumor mill in the backstage area of WWE were always true and he'd been hearing rumor after rumor about Dean screwing around with Diva's – ring rats – whoever."

Zaria licked her suddenly dry lips. "He said I should check with my husband to make sure he hasn't started dating again. He said he'd like to think he was my pre-warning for when I find out the rumors are true; that I've got some defense against the heartache I'm going to feel. I don't like him putting ideas and doubts into my head. I want to continue to feel that my husband is going to be there for me and our child when he/she is born, but now…"

"Now he's made you doubt Dean's actual love for you." Robin pointed out. She watched as Zaria nodded. "And..?" Robin questioned.

"And a couple of days ago I was in Tampa trying to get my medical records faxed over to my Orlando Doctor; until I can at least return home with my husband. I drove by because I was going to pick up some more clothes to take back with me and…" Zaria's voice cracked as more tears streamed down her cheeks.

"And when I pulled down the street I saw a vehicle sitting out front of the house and as I was driving by a leggy blonde walked out of my front door with the biggest 'freshly fucked' smile on her face. Any bigger and her face wouldn't have fit through the door. She would've been stuck in the house for the rest of her life." Zaria sobbed. "Stuck in my house that I bought with my husband and made into a home for our family; where we conceived our child and were going to raise our child and she just walked out like she owned the house, the possessions inside and my husband." She frowned once again as more tears came out. "My husband…"

Robin sat and comforted Zaria as best she could. She knew saying anything might make the dam that was already leaking break and she didn't want a 7 month pregnant woman have a mental break in her office. "Did you drive yourself?"

"No I'm too big to fit behind the damn wheel. Seth is waiting in the car downstairs. I just needed to tell someone…anyone what I'd seen. I couldn't do it; I couldn't keep it in any longer and I didn't know who else to tell and for some reason you was the first person who came to mind." Zaria confessed.

Robin smiled softly as she handed over a few tissues. "I'm honored and even if we didn't really fix anything; I think we accomplished something greater, which is your ability to trust me. I'll have my secretary call Seth and have him bring the car around front and I will walk you down. I'm not going to force you to schedule any appointments or follow up's; that's all up to you and Amaya. I know you're both in the same boat right now. Just remember I'm here to listen; not judge or force any ideas onto you."

This had been a good session if for nothing else but to have Zaria establish trust boundaries with Robin. She could only hope there would be a next time.

Patricia Reigns drove the 6 hours from Pensacola to Orlando. She was still quite shocked at the words that had come from her sons' mouth; everything from why Stephanie had blackmailed him, Seth and Dean to why Amaya left him and took Isaac with her three months ago.

Patty had to admit to herself if she had been in the same boat and it was Sika she'd learned all this from and he'd been the one doing it to her; she'd be a broken woman.

She wasn't blind; she was far from it. The interaction between Amaya and Roman at the anniversary party left something to be desired. The light that had once been in Amaya's eyes was completely missing. The look she always had on her face anytime Roman touched her held her hand or even just kissed her lips; it was all different.

After what Roman had told her…at this point she couldn't really say that she blamed Amaya for extracting herself and Isaac from Roman's world. The love between them wouldn't change because they had a child together, but the trust and love she had toward Roman was definitely faltering.

Finding Seth and Amyra's house wasn't too difficult as she pulled into the driveway and killed the engine on her Cadillac Escalade. She calmed her nerves as she grabbed her purse and exited the vehicle. The closer to the front door she got the more she knew this was really none of her business and she should just honestly let Roman and Amaya work it out on their own.

Patricia kept having second thoughts about this visit…but she was already there and had driven the six hours.

She raised her hand and knocked on the front door.

Amaya looked down at her sweet sleeping son. She and Amyra had taken the kids to the zoo this morning and Isaac definitely had her blood running through his veins when he became completely fascinated with the giraffe's; they had been her favorite animal growing up and was the first stuffed animal she remembered getting not only as a child but also the first carnival she and Roman went to when she was 5 months pregnant Roman won her a stuffed won as well.

The doorbell chimes ringing through the expanse of the house. Amyra had taken Safina and Sammy to the grocery store and Seth was at the Performance center training some new Wrestlers to get them ready for NXT. Amaya wasn't really expecting anyone but she couldn't let them ring the doorbell or Isaac would wake up.

Amaya walked down stairs and opened the front door. She was surprised to see her mother-in-law staring back at her. "Patty – what are you doing here?" She stepped aside and let Roman's mother into the house.

Patty smiled softly. "I came to see you and my grandson; if that's ok."

"Absolutely – Well me at least; Amyra and I just came back from taking the kids to the zoo. Isaac just passed out for a nap in my room. You want some tea or something to drink?" Amaya asked as they walked into the kitchen.

Patty nodded. "Tea would be nice, thank you." Patty watched as Amaya poured them both a nice tall glass of lemon ice tea before joining her at the kitchen table. "I didn't come to just see you both. I came to talk with you about – well about the way you and Roman are handling the separation." She saw the frown as it instantly appeared on Amaya's beautiful face. "I know it's a sore subject sweetie. I just want to know how you're doing and for some reason I don't think a phone call can give the subject the attention it really needs right now."

Amaya licked her dry lips as she stayed calm and kept her emotions in check. She nodded. "I don't really – I don't really know what to say. I don't feel like it's been 3 months since I left. It feels as if it were just yesterday."

Patty sipped her tea. "I thought I would be able to just go to Roman and tell him that he needed to grow the hell up and be a man and take back his family, but…"

"But what?" Amaya asked curiously.

Patty's frown suddenly matched Amaya's. "But I honestly just came from Roman's and he was man enough to sit down and tell me everything."

"Everything..?" Amaya all but whimpered.

Patty nodded. "Yes, even what happened between you two after the anniversary party." She stated softly.

Amaya shook her head negatively. "I don't know what got into me that night. Whether it was the alcohol or the fact that I was just having so much fun; the good times we had before everything got so torn apart and complicated. Whatever the case may have been Roman was steaming mad at me when he woke up and I was gone with Isaac again. But I told him when he called me – sex was not going to fix anything between us. Yes it felt good and it was amazing, but it wasn't a cure for the problem we were having with our marriage."

"I know he was mad baby, but I think it was just his pride that was hurt. You guys missed each other so much and you both caved to the feelings you were having; wrong as you knew they were to give into it, it still felt glorious to be with each other and to reconnect on that sacred level again. He woke up and you'd left without a word. He had a right to be upset, but he should've known. When you left three months ago you told him you weren't moving back until he fixed things between you and sex isn't a fix for anything."

Patty reached out and took Amaya's hand in hers the three years she and Roman had been married her and Sika had always treated her as one of the family and Amyra as well; just like that had Seth and Dean when Roman brought them home once upon a time. "How are you really feelings?"

Silence filled the kitchen.

"I feel like a coward." Amaya stated softly as her eyes went to her lap and then back up to Patty's eyes. "I feel like such a fuckin coward Patty. I know everything could probably be fixed with one simple conversation with Roman, but I can't force myself to sit down with him and ask him the questions I need answers too. I feel like such a failure as a wife and I've been so sad and depressed since I left Roman, I feel like an even bigger failure as a mom to my son; keeping him away from his father. I feel like as long as I keep Isaac away from Roman than he doesn't have a chance to hurt him like he's hurt me. I don't know what to do. If I find out Roman cheated on me with those women; while we were married…I'm going to be done. Nothing fixes hurt like that. Just the thought makes my insides rip apart. I've cried so much the last three months I'm pretty sure my tears are going to dry up and soon I'll cry blood because my tear ducts are going to rebel against me." Her voice was cracking and she was trying to keep herself from crying.

Patty scooted her chair as close as she could to Amaya and watched as the mother of her grandson lay her head on the table and sobbed uncontrollably. Patty leaned her head against Amaya's she knew no amount of words were going to heal the hurt her daughter-in-law was carrying around in her heart. She rang her fingers through Amaya's caramel colored hair and let her cry as long as she needed.

Her son needed to start being held accountable for what he'd done and for his parts that he took place in with the 'charity events'. He needed to come to Amaya and purge everything he'd done and hopefully if it wasn't as bad as Amaya thought it was; they would be able to heal each other and fix their broken souls and the marriage that seemed to of imploded right before their very eyes. If Roman didn't do something soon it was going to ruin everything about their marriage and it was going to ruin three beautiful people in the world.

Patty knew Roman could say he was sorry a thousand times, but words are just words and everyone knew actions speak louder.
