Note 6
Do not ever give up! Even if you have suffered that loss, know that you tried your hardest. Live with pride in that you made it that far!
Kite was not amused at the short letter that had been delivered to the tennis club at the beginning of practice. He had heard about the letters going around but he hadn't expected someone to send them one. They were Higa and half the time they weren't even in Okinawa for whatever reason (usually through an odd turn of events and mix-ups).
"This sounds like they're both mocking us and praising us at the same time…" he muttered lowly, glasses glinting dangerously.
"Hey, hey, what is that?" Rin prodded, looking over the captain's shoulder curiously.
The glasses were then directed toward the prying tennis player, "Go away or I'll make you eat Goya," he threatened.
Rin's reaction was predictable. Eyes widening he shook his head and ran off. "Anything but that!" he cried. With him running off, Kite's eyes followed him to see the Habu user talking to Kai and Tanishi both of them looking over in his direction curiously as Rin finished up his rambling. Was them getting a note really that hard to believe? Sure they were pretty disliked but that was the coach's fault!
Seeing the other two team members coming closer, he braced himself for the oncoming onslaught of questions.
"Who's it from?"
"What does it say?"
Both came at once and became a bit of a jumbled mess. Kite eyed the two, silently telling them to go one at a time. Taking the hint, Kai spoke first. "Do you know who it's from?"
"No, but I'm thinking that there's only one team who would be so supportive of a rival tennis team," Kite said, folding the paper back up and placing it neatly into the envelope it came in.
"So what does it say? Do we need to send it back?" Tanishi prompted.
The Hitman turned away, "You don't need to know, I'll tell everyone later. For now round up the rest of the team we," he grimaced, "need to brainstorm for something nice to say."
Disbelief and terror couldn't even begin to cover the expressions of all the tennis players within ear-shot. Them…write something nice? Was the world ending or something? They all sure hoped not, they had hope and dreams to accomplish first! Most of all, what would the coach think of this?!
Ah, well, now all they could do was hope for the best. It was either more crazy training or eating Goya. And neither of them were very pleasant.
A/N: Higa Chuu, why must you be so hard to write for!? Updates will come slower now that were into the minor schools that I have to improvise with. And will probably be shorter.
