A longer chapter with drama and bad parent shit! Hope you like it. Honestly I don't like some aspects of this chapter but whatever...

Chapter 7…

Karma

"Karmaaaaa, I'm home!" Karma heard his mother yell up the stairs.

Oh god, she's drunk. I hope Father isn't with her as well.

Karma's parents have never actually laid a hand on him but they would always say that he was a mistake and that he was never enough. That he had to get good grades or he would be thrown out of the house and onto the streets. They always said that he was unwanted and a waste of space. That everything would be better off if he just died. He tried not to take the words to heart, but the more they said them, the more they made sense.

I'm just a stupid, waste of space. Not worth the time of day. I'm unwanted by my own parents. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic. Pathetic.

Those words that have been nailed into his head since before he could speak were singing out in his head now. Getting loader and loader the more he went down the stairs. By the time he walked into the kitchen, his hand was shaking and looked up at his mother fearfully. He didn't want to be called a stupid ass child or a shitty boy who just leached off the family.

When he got to the living room, his mother was standing in the middle of the mess that Karma had made in the rush to get Nagisa upstairs. If they saw her, everything would be worse. They would yell and scream at him, saying that they were surprised he even had any friends because he was so stupid. They would also start yelling at Nagisa. Saying that she was a waste of space as well, that she wasn't worth having around. Even though she was more than worth it. If Karma could, he would spend every second of everyday with her. He would listen to her magical laugh and soft words. He would watch as her blue hair swayed in the breeze and her smile lit up his day. But he couldn't. Instead, the most he could do was protect her from the hateful words that would surely reach her ears if she hadn't hidden.

"Karma, you little shit. You made this mess didn't you? Well you better clean up this food that was supposed to be wasted for feeding your ugly body." Karma's mother said with a sinfully sweet mother voice of hers. The tone you would usually use when you were praising your child, not putting him down with the most hurtful words you could come up with.

"Yes, Mother." Karma weakly replied as he got down on his knees and started to clean up the mess. The words, little shit, were going around and around in his head, stabbing his heart with little needles of pain every time.

"So Karma, why would you think a little shit like you would get to eat popcorn? You deserve the most disgusting food. Maybe I will go get the neighbors garbage for your dinner tonight. You're lucky that your father is still at the Bahamas or else he would have been so angry. I won't tell him though, you lucky little bitch."

"Thank you, Mother." Karma responded.

"I just came here to grab some clothes and I will be out of here in a few minutes. Tomorrow I'm going out on a date with a rich business man. Opps! I probably shouldn't have told you that! Don't tell your father, okay? If you do, you'll be living on the streets before the divorce papers can be served."

Karma froze when he heard his mother confess to cheating but he wasn't really surprised. His parents only stayed together for the financial and social advantages.

"Yes Mother, I promise." Karma responded in a monotone as his mother walked upstairs to her bedroom. Once she was out of sight, Karma started trembling. He absolutely hated this family but where else could he go. He didn't have money and even if he was able to get a job at his age, it probably wouldn't pay enough that he would be able to support himself. Karma's only choice was to stay in this hell.

Well at least it's not that bad. You have a bed to go to sleep in, food to eat. You also have Nagisa.

Karma quickly finished cleaning up the spilled food, when his mom came down the stairs with a suitcase next to her.

"Well little shit, 'till next time." She said as she waved over her shoulder and left out the door, not even mothering to close it behind her.

Still trembling he walked over, closed to the door and walked up stairs to get to Nagisa.

At least she wasn't drunk, there would have been screaming if she was. Karma thought as he made his way into his room and opened his closet door. He found Nagisa curled up into a ball and staring wide eyes up and Karma.

Shit, she heard everything that Mother said.

"Karma." Nagisa's soft voice spoke out to him, making his heart flip.

"Nagisa, I'm sorry that you had to hear that."

"No, no Karma. Why would you just let her say those things to you?" Nagisa asked as she stood up and wrapped her arms around Karma, standing on her tippy toes to give him a soft kiss on the cheek.

"Because I can't do anything. If I did, she would kick me out of the house."

"K-karma, I'm sorry that this is what you have to live with."

"It's alright Nagisa, it just the usual bul-" Karma tried to say but was cut off when Nagisa started yelling.

"It is not alright Karma. She is your mother and should not treat you this way! It's horrible! So please don't say it's alright!"

Karma just started at Nagisa in shock. No one had ever stood up for him before. He always had to do that himself. He felt Nagisa grab hold of his hands and looked into her eyes. Seeing sadness there, in the one place that there should only be happiness and light, Karma was about to ask what was wrong when suddenly those beautifully vibrant blue eyes were closed and soft lips caressed his lips. He leaned into the kiss and realized only then that he was crying.

Crying Karma! Hehe I'm evil!
