Author's Note

Hey, I'm back with a new chapter. Hope you like it.

Thank you, Orangelover121 and hisoka93 for the reviews. They mean a world to me! 3

P.S. I apologize in advance for the cliche that's about to take place.

Michaela was on the brink of waking up. She remembered falling asleep on a couch and she had to admit that it was definitely better than the forest floor. Adding to that it was immensely warm. If she could, Michaela would have purred at how nice this felt and she contemplated if she could talk the blonde man to let her hog his couch occasionally.

Michaela twitched her nose as something seemed to be brushing its tip. She furrowed her brows as the tickling sensation didn't leave. Slowly opening her eyes Mika looked straight ahead confused. Half of her vision was covered by something dark. Bringing one of her hands from under her head the girl touched what appeared to be a blanket? and tugged it downwards to be able to see.

"If you drop it on the ground I'm gonna fry your ass." A preoccupied male voice grumbled from somewhere in the room. At first, Mika blinked and was tempted to just draw the article over her head but after a few seconds, she realized that she somewhat recognized the voice.

Slowly sitting up, the possible blanket still covering most of her, Michaela looked around the room until her eyes found the blonde man. Her somewhat confused face turned to one of slight irritation.

"That threat is going to grow old real fast." She huffed out quietly before averting her eyes from the man and examining the supposed blanket.

Laxus looked up from the Damage Report (Courtesy of Team Natsu), with a raised eyebrow, though his expression went unnoticed by the girl. Few hours had passed and Laxus had to admit that he had forgotten that she was there for the most part. As for the remark he had to go back to his previous musings about the girl either being overly stubborn or not easily intimidated when someone was trying to do so. There was still a possibility that she was extremely confident in her magical and physical abilities though so far it seemed to be the least likely scenario.

Mika finally realized that the supposed blanket was actually a fur coat. One that smelled strongly of thunderstorms. Considering the repeated promises of being fried this was obviously the blonde man's coat. But why had he covered her with it? Mika's eyebrows furrowed once more as dumber and dumber thoughts of reasons crossed her mind.

"If you keep frowning like that, those wrinkles are gonna stay," Laxus smirked as he had slumped back in his chair, crossed his arms and watched the girl with an unreadable expression afterwards though amusement might have occasionally twinkled in his eyes. He watched as the girl looked up at him the confusion once more morphing in slight annoyance. He had to admit it was entertaining to watch.

"Well if you keep crossing your arm like that, some might think you are scared and feel inferior to them." Mika shot back though relatively quietly. Inwardly she cursed herself for speaking so boldly but something about this man caused her to be rather irritated by anything he says to her. She held his gaze that had hardened at her statement but suddenly he barked out a laugh. Michaela stared at him owlishly. To be fair she was sure that for a second he was gonna fry her like he had previously threatened to. This was definitely not the reaction she had expected.

"You got guts. I like that." Laxus grinned at her albeit a bit obnoxiously. He watched as the girl's expression turned from one of perplexion to one of caution. Shrugging it off he stood up and stretched sighing in content as few joints popped.

"You were shivering and it was distracting." Was the only further explanation Laxus gave the girl as he walked over to her while she quickly jumped to her feet and stepped away from the couch to keep a safe distance from the man. Laxus rolled his eyes at her as he draped the coat over his shoulders.

"C'mon, Bickslow's probably blue from waiting." The dragonslayer grumbled as he turned to the door. with the corner of his eyes, he saw the Mika girl flinch after glancing at the door that lead to the Guildhall.

"It's late and most of those guys have either left the guild or are passed out. Gramp's probably still by the bar in case you still want to join." Laxus grumbled again. This pampering someone wasn't exactly his style but he might as well do it since this was Bickslow's sister. The lightning slayer was just glad that no other slayer was in the guild at the moment to hear him speak like this. He watched the girl as she looked back at him.

"Gramps?" She asked unsurely. Michaela wasn't exactly sure what the blonde man's grandfather had to do with her joining the guild. But she felt a bit calmer when he had mentioned that the amount of people on the other side of the door has decreased.

Laxus blinked and resisted the urge to facepalm himself. Obviously, this girl knew nothing of Fairy Tail or anything of the sort.

"I guess I didn't bother to introduce myself. Name's Laxus Dreyar. As for the guild master, his name is Makarov Dreyar." He half expected at least little astonishment from the girl but a brief sense of understanding just passed her face. A realization then passed her face and Laxus was ready to smirk but now it was his turn to be taken by surprise as the girl stood straighter and bowed a bit. He remembered that by some old tradition this was a form of a greeting when one is introducing themselves though he wasn't sure where he had heard this piece of trivia. Probably Freed.

"I apologize for not introducing myself either. My name is Michaela Walker." She straightened once more and tilted her head to the side when noticing Laxus surprised look. Nevertheless, now the mention of his grandfather made much more sense in regards to receiving her guild mark. She really did want to join but betting used to so many people is going to be a real challenge. The hair on the back of her neck rose at the thought but she fought the feeling of dread down.

"Right... C'mon, will ya?" Laxus nodded at her and stepped out of his office listening carefully to see if she was following, which she did to Laxus mild relief. He didn't exactly want to blast her out of his office. Glancing around the hall, Laxus sighed as his assumptions had been right. Half the guild really was passed out. Doing a once over again he spotted Bickslow sitting at their team's table, head resting on the surface and his totems laying beside him. Looking towards the bar Laxus nodded his head at Gramps and walked over, stepping aside to let the Mika girl come closer. He watched as she hastily approached the bar counter, her head downcast.

"Hello there, dear. How may I be of help." Laxus's eyebrow twitched as the guild master had completely ignored him while Makarov watched the girl with obvious interest. It seemed Mira had briefed him in on the events during the afternoon.

"I... I would like to join Fairy Tail." Mika started weakly but her voice grew steady as she clenched her hands into fists and bowed to the man.

"Very well. Where would you like your guild mark then, dear?" The usual happiness shone in the old man's eyes at the prospect of gaining a new brat to spoil, "And while we're on the topic, what might be your name and, if you don't mind sharing, magic?"

Michale blinked in surprise at how simple it seemed. She looked up at the kindly smiling master of the guild and as if looking for confirmation glance at Laxus who just nodded his head at her. The action didn't go unnoticed by either Makarov or Mira. Once more Mika bowed in the old traditional way, this time towards Makarov and Mira that had stepped behind the master and hold the guild mark's stamp on her hand.

"My name is Michaela Walker. I-i use soul-make magic." Mika faltered a bit when mentioning her magic because more than not people grew weary of her not being sure what this type of magic entailed.

"Well then," as Mira reached out for Michaela's left arm and stamped the girl's forearm, just under the elbow, Makarov grinned at her.

"Welcome to Fairy Tail!"

Author's Note 2.0

Just a piece of info in regards to Michaela's and obviously Bickslow's last name. Since the soul mage's last name isn't mentioned anywhere I took the initiative of placing one of the English voice actor's last name as theirs.
