Luke opened his eyes to see that he was laying on Leia's pillow alone. He looked out the window to see the sun wasn't up high yet. Luke groaned. When Han, Chewie, Padme and him joined the rebellion, he noticed that no matter how early he got up, his mother and sister, though unknown to him at the time, got up right before him. It was frustrating then but it was even more frustrating know his father beat him in getting up early as well as his mother and sister. Luke sighed, ran a hand through his hair before he got up and headed to his room to get his Jedi robes before heading out only to find his mother and sister talking actively.
"Morning." He smiled only for the similar looking women to shout,
"Go away Luke!" Luke chuckled and walked away. He remembered the first time they had done that. It was the morning after he defeated the Death Star, the first time he noticed their similarites went beyond appearance.
Luke walked through the rebel base. It was the morning after he destroyed the Death Star and he was exploring the base, despite the fact that they were leaving soon. He wore his white shirt and tan pants from Tatooine. He walked into the cafeteria and was surprised to find Padme and Leia sitting at a table, talking. He walked over.
"Good-" He started.
"Go away Luke!" The woman and girl shouted in unison as they turned to glare at him. Luke was taken aback. The two girls' glares were nearly identical and it was then he noticed the similarites. Despite the age difference, Leia and Padme were close to identical. Leia was dressed the same as she was yesterday, excluding her hair that now hung down her back in a simple braid. Padme wore her blue dress she wore the day before as well, though this time her hair flowed down her back gently. "Go!" The two shouted again. This time, the 2nd oldest Skywalker left.
Over time, 'Go away Luke' became 'Go away Skywalker' and had now returned to Luke for Anakin's sake. Luke shook his head at them as he went out to the balcony to find Anakin meditating, or trying to. Meditation was not Anakin's strong suit, Luke knew that just by spending a little bit of time with him. Anakin was impatient and could be reckless, some things Luke knew he still has remaining, though they were smaller then they were thanks to Obi-Wan and Yoda. Anakin must had sensed Luke as his eyes opened.
"They do the same thing to you?" Luke asked when he saw Anakin smirking. Anakin's smirk stretched into a smile and he nodded.
"Those two don't like being interuppted, do they?" He asked. Luke laughed as he leaned against the wall.
"Your kidding right?" He smiled, "They hate being interuppted. The first couple times I interuppted them, I swear I thought they were going to kill me!" Anakin laughed and Luke took pride in the fact he could make his father laugh. "Good thing I have you with me now."
"Why?" Anakin asked. Luke smiled,
"It evens the odds so I don't feel like it's me against them. It's scary, you know." Anakin chuckled lightly when Luke had a mischievous idea and Anakin failed to notice the gleam in his unknown son's eyes almost identical to his own. "Hey Anakin," Luke smiled, "how about we have a little spar?" Anakin, not noticing his son's mischief, agreed. The Skywalkers stood facing each other and activated their blades, Luke's emerald and Anakin's slightly lighter green. The two were locked in a spar for a long time until Luke put his plans into action. He ran towards Anakin, looking like he would strike him and Anakin followed to meet him halfway. At the last possible second, the technical younger Skywalker moved to the side and used the Force to flip Anakin onto his back. Said Skywalker cried out in surprise before he grunted in pain as he landed. Luke deactivated his light saber and bent over laughing.
"You find this funny?" Anakin smirked and before Luke could blink, his father had flipped him over in the same way. Luke cried out before groaning when he landed. Leia and Padme ran in just then.
"What happened?!" Padme cried, wondering how in the Force's name her future husband and son were lying on the floor.
"I flipped Anakin like I did Han and he did it back to me." Luke admitted. It was true though, he had used that trick on Han at least twice. The former smuggler still swore he would get revenge. Leia shared a look with her mother before they both bent over laughing and soon the entire Skywalker family was practically rolling on the floor laughing.
"Come on, let's eat." Padme smiled.
As their food was served, Luke noticed how his mother and sister were dressed. Padme's hair was curled and slightly up, a headband around her forhead. She wore a dark purple dress as well. Leia, on the other hand, had her hair in a simple braid resting on her right shoulder and wore a plain dark blue dress.
"Where'd you get that?" Luke asked curiously.
"Mother gave it to me." Leia explained, "She had several plain dresses like these hidden in her closet."
"Who would've thought, our mother, who wears some of the most extravegant outfits we've ever seen has outfits like that in her closet." Luke smirked.
"You do realize I can hear every word you think?" Padme cut in when she noticed the fruit on her plate move. She tried to stab it but it kept moving. She looked at Luke who shrugged, then Leia who held up one hand in surrender before looking at Anakin, who was just staring at his plate. "You did that?" Padme asked, though the accusation was in her tone. Anakin looked up, his eyes wide and innocent. Leia and Luke had to stifle their laughs.
"What?" Anakin asked innocently. The twins' mother scowled at their father and turned back to her plate. As she tried to eat again, Anakin moved his hand subtly and the fruit lifted into the air. The twins lost it and began to laugh loudly as Padme cried,
"That! Now stop that!" She tried to get her fruit but the fruit looped and floated over to Anakin. "Anakin!" Padme cried as the twins continued their laughing, feeling like kids watching their parents fool around. Padme sent each of her children a quick glare as Anakin made the fruit float into his hands.
"I'm not really supposed to do that...for fun, I mean." Anakin explained, "If Master Obi-Wan were here, he'd be very grumpy." Leia couldn't control herself and let out a loud laugh. Anakin sounded like a kid when he talked like that. Anakin cut the fruit and floated a piece back to Padme, who took it out of the air and ate it, laughing as well.
Later, Leia met up with Padme and gave her a look before they went to sit by the fireplace.
"What?" Padme asked her daughter.
"Don't think Luke and I are idiots." Leia smirked, a smirk very similar to her father's, "We saw you two kiss when we arrived after you made a point for us to be behind you. You're purposfully trying to avoid falling for him but fall at the same time and you're trying to make sure Luke and I aren't around at some points." Padme sighed, her daughter knew her well too well.
"Look, Lei-" She started but Leia cut her off,
"It's okay. We know you're doing it on purpose and we're okay with it, just don't make anything too obvious or he'll get suspicious and might find out about Luke and I." Padme nodded and hugged her daughter tightly before they made their way into the alcove. The two women just stared at the fire, having a silent political conversation through their bond when Anakin and Luke came in. Anakin sat next to Padme and Luke next to Leia. If the time travelors closed their eyes, they could just imagine for that moment that they were a normal family. Anakin suddenly spoke,
"May I tell you something?" Quickly, the twins stood up and silently excused themselves. They ended up on the balcony, staring at the dark sky over the lake. The twins were silent until Leia broke it, saying,
"Do you think we can change the future?"
"We have to try." Luke answered after a brief silence.
"But...what if what we do isn't good enough?" Leia asked, "We don't know what set him on the path to the Darkside and how we have to change it." Luke looked at his sister in surprise and through their bond, asked,
"Leia Amidala Skywalker Organa, are you saying you forgive Father?" Leia sighed,
"I'm...I'm close but not there yet." Luke put an arm around his sister's shoulders and smiled down at her, saying,
"Don't worry, Lei, when it's time to change something, we'll know." Leia looked up at her brother and smiled lightly before leaning her head on his shoulder.
As the four Skywalkers made their way to bed, Anakin noticed Leia's hesitance. Not knowing what came over him, the Padawan placed a hand on the youngest Skywalker's arm. As Leia met his eyes, he said,
"If you want Leia, we can sleep with you again tonight." Leia was taken aback but she smiled gratefully at her family.
Anakin sat up in a cold sweat as he woke from his nightmare. His mother's screaming still ringed in his ears. He ran his hands through his hair as he tried to calm himself down. He moved to get up when he heard a moan. He turned and saw the previously peacefully sleeping Leia now had a scrunched up face.
"Don't go..." She whispered as her hand reached out towards Anakin, as if she knew he was trying to leave. Slowly, Anakin reached out and took Leia's outstretched hand. He watched as his unknown daughter's face relaxed as she felt his presence still there. Anakin's eyes wandered over his future family, his future wife beside him, his daughter next to her and his son on the edge. Luke's arm was wrapped protectively around his sister while Padme's hand rested reassuringly on her daughter's arm. Slowly, Anakin laid back down and closed his eyes, his sleep slightly more peaceful then it was before.
The next day, the four Skywalkers were sitting in a meadow. Leia wore a dark green dress with her hair half up. Padme had her hair half up as well with a headband around her forehead with two gold floral circles around her ears. She wore a gold and floral dress to match. Padme was picking flowers while Leia was laying in the grass, staring at the clouds as they talked.
"I don't know..." Padme said.
"Sure you do." Anakin said, "You just don't want to tell me."
"Are you going to use one of your Jedi mind tricks on me?" Padme joked. Leia scoffed,
"Yeah right, he would."
"They only work on the weak-minded." Anakin explained, "You are anything but weak-minded."
"Alright..." Padme said, "His name was Palo. I was twelve. We were both in the Legislative Youth Program. He was a few years older than I...very cute...dark, curly hair...dreamy eyes."
"Alright, I get the picture." Anakin said, "Whatever happened to him?"
"I went on to be queen." Padme answered, "He went on to be an artist."
"Interesting choice." Luke remarked.
"Not what I was expecting." Leia added.
"Maybe he was the smart one." Anakin said. The time travelers looked at him, Leia tilting her head from where she laid to see him.
"You really don't like politicians, do you?" Padme said. Anakin shrugged,
"I like two or three, but I'm not really sure about one of them." He smiled then, "I don't think the system works."
"Who does?" Leia quipped.
"You're into politics?" Anakin asked his daughter. Leia nodded,
"Ever since my adopted father told me my birth mother was a politician." Leia smiled at the memory as did Padme, glad Bail had at least told Leia about her growing up.
"So, how would you have it?" Luke asked.
"We need a system where the politicians sit down and discuss the problems, agree what's in the best interests of all people and do it, easy." Anakin answered. The trio of time travelers laughed before Padme replied,
"That is exactly what we do. The trouble is that people don't always agree. In fact they hardly ever do."
"Then they should be made to." Anakin insisted.
"That's nearly impossible." Luke and Leia said in unison.
"By whom?" Padme asked, "Who's going to make them?"
"I don't know." Anakin shrugged, "Someone."
"You?" Luke asked.
"Of course not me." Anakin shook his head.
"But someone." Leia said.
"Someone wise." Anakin agreed.
"That sounds an awful lot like a dictatorship to me." Padme said, as all three remembered the Empire and how Anakin had helped as Vader. A mischievous grin spread across Anakin's face.
"Well, if it works..." He trailed. The time travelers stared at Anakin, who was straight faced but can't hold a smile.
"You're making fun of me." Padme accused. Anakin smiled.
"Oh no, I'd be much too frightented to tease a senator." He grinned sarcastically.
"You're so bad!" Padme cried. She picked up a piece of fruit and threw it at her future husband but he caught it. She threw two more pieces at him but he caught both.
"You're always so serious, always carrying the weight of the unviverse on your shoulders." Anakin said before he began to juggle the fruit. Padme laughed and sent a look towards the twins and all three threw fruit at him. Anakin tries to keep juggling but ends up dropping them onto his head. All four began to laugh.
Anakin was riding a shaak and badly as his future family watched. Suddenly, the shaak through him off.
"Whoa!" He cried as he was bucked off. The time travelers watched worridly when he didn't get up. Padme ran towards him while Luke held Leia back.
"Ani! Ani, are you alright?" Padme asked as she turned him over only for him to be laughing. Padme laughed at him and soon the two were rolling down the hill. Leia and Luke laughed at their parents as they finally stopped, Padme over Anakin and laughing.
That night, Anakin moved restlessly in his sleep, crying out for his mother. Hearing him and sensing his pain, Luke stood by the door, not liking how he couldn't help his father. He sighed and ran his mechanical hand through his hair as he walked out to the balcony, staring at Naboo's three moons.
"Couldn't sleep?" He turned to see Leia staring at him. Her dark brown hair fell down her back and she wore a night gown similar to their mother's. He shook his head.
"I sensed his pain and his nightmares." He explained as Leia walked up to stand beside him.
"Why didn't you wake him?" Leia asked.
"I sensed I shouldn't." Luke explained, "He's been having these nightmares for a long time."
"How do you know?" Leia asked.
"I can sense that this isn't the first one he's had and something will happen because of them." Luke answered.
"Something that will set him on the path to Vader?" Leia wondered. Luke nodded,
"Highly." The twins shared a look. They knew their parents were falling in love, but they still had to find a way to keep Anakin from becoming Vader.
The next morning, the time travelers, still in their sleep wear, found Anakin meditating. They turn to leave but he says,
"Don't go."
"We don't want to disturb you." Padme protested.
"Your presences are soothing." Anakin explained. The four were silent for a moment before Padme said,
"You had a nightmare again last night."
"Jedi don't have nightmares." Anakin answered.
"I heard you." Padme protested.
"So did we." Luke added and Leia nodded. Anakin opened his eyes and turned to his future family.
"I saw my mother." He said, "I saw her as clearly as I see you three now. She's suffering, Padme. She is in pain...They're killing her!" He stood up and continued, "I know I'm disobeying my mandate to protect you and Leia, Senator. I know I will be punished and possibly thrown out of the Jedi Order, but I must go. I have to help her! I'm sorry, to all of you. I have to help her!"
"Ani," Padme said, "I told you I wouldn't let you give up your future for me. We'll go with you. That way you can continue to protect Leia and I, and you won't be disobeying your mandate." The twins nodded in agreement.
"What about Master Obi-Wan?" Anakin asked. Padme walked up to her future husband and took his hand, smiling,
"I guess we won't tell him, will we?" Anakin turned to the twins and asked,
"Are you sure you two want to come?" The twins gave him identical 'are you kidding?' looks.
"Why would we stay here without you two?" Leia asked.
"We are perfectly capable of protecting ourselves." Luke stated, "Besides, we vowed to protect Padme as well and we keep our promises." Padme stared at her children.
"You can stay, you know." She said. Leia shook her head.
"Padme, you are our best friend." She said, "We are not leaving you."
"Alright." Anakin agreed, "Let's go to Tatooine." The four made their way to the Naboo Starship with Artoo behind them.
Well, we're going to Tatooine! I hope I'm not rushing this with them being on Naboo for literally 2 chapters but this story will be longer than The Angel's Hope only because we have a long story for this and if anyone knows the Clone Wars TV show, yes Ahsoka will make an appearance, though I am keeping this canon so she won't be in the Episode 3 half. Anyways, thanks to Chloe Jackson, tate4eva, Lea1985, Maleficent-darkgoodwitch2416, ASHtheMUSICALgirl13 (who will be making a trailer for my stories so I will let you know when they're up), DarcyFanGirl6, GeneralZodz, Trickymander, Lady Angel Sanada Doji Date and vendy for reviewing/following/favoring along with all 3,624 readers! You guys are awesome! Also, I have posted a one-shot for Anakin and Leia titled Daughter to Father! Go check it out and let me know what you think! Anyways, please review! Later.
