A/N: Well guys! Here's the next Chapter of Lucky Stars! I know it's been awhile, but you can blame that on my laptop, which decided it was going to magically explode. ._. Yeah I know. Sucks. So! Here's a kinda short chapter. Gettin' back in the swing of things! Hope ya like! Oh by the way? I DON'T OWN NARUTO! BUT YOU ALREADY KNEW THAT!
Kiyowa practically had ripped her lunchbox apart trying to get to it, because apparently it would not open quick enough. Now, however, she was heartily shoveling in rice and chicken toppings into her mouth as fast as her chopsticks would allow. She noticed that her body still trembled, and it made it a little hard to control her movements, but maybe that was just the left over adrenaline from realizing she.. er.. the team, had another chance.
The sound of a snort, same as earlier, came to her ear, making her stop eating. Maybe it was the confidence still raging within, or maybe she had just gotten a quick burst of it, but she felt compelled to address it this time. "Something funny?"
Sasuke looked over from his food, raising his eyebrow. He didn't ask about it, only looked at her curiously as if he were surprised about her sudden questioning. It made sense though, as most people probably would be caught off guard since she was so timid.
"I just mean.. if there's a joke of sorts.. I would want to laugh too," She said just before shovelling another mouthful of rice into her foodhole. Her eyes never left his own as she continued, and the narrowing of his eyes gave her a sort of...satisfaction. That odd feeling of tingling in her chest that told her she was in the right.
"Hmph." The black haired boy turned his head away, and only then did Kiyowa falter to her returning shyness. Her breaths quickened and her face flushed red, "I can't believe..." She said so lightly that the sound was only audible to her, "I just... did that.." What on Earth would have pushed her to do that!?
"Urk..." By now, Naruto was fading fast, and Kiyowa could tell. His head hung low and he had put a hold on his struggling to hang limply by the bindings he was restricted by. "So Hungry..." He muttered. Pangs of hunger ravaged through his stomach, even paining his chest and the back of his throat, like it was spreading or something. In complete honesty, the blonde haired girl felt sympathy for him. As long as she had waited for her meal, she could only imagine what he was feeling having to smell food but not being able to even taste a crumb. She wanted to give him a some of hers and hope that would help him, but she heard what Kakashi had said.
'If anyone feeds Naruto, they will fail,' That was the gist of what Kakashi had said at least, and she, no matter how bad she felt, was not set to sabatoge her future career. A loud thunder-like rumble of Naruto's stomach, argued otherwise. 'Okay.. Kakashi-sensei did leave.. maybe...just a nibble..' Kiyowa turned and grabbed ahold of her lunchbox, but when went to stand, Sasuke seemed to already be on the case.
"Here, Loser..." He held out his lunch toward the blonde haired ninja.
"Sasuke! You can't! You heard what Kakashi-sensei said, you'll be failed!" Sakura interposed, trying to get her point across. She had a point; a point that Kiyowa had just reached, but had gotten over to think of the greater good, and so the Shinzo girl understood Sakura's mindset right now.
"Kakashi-sensei isn't here right now," Sasuke shot back in a whisper. The word from him seemed like enough to convince Sakura, and she also rose up her lunchbox toward their hungry team member.
Kiyowa tilted her head, feeling a light blush creep over her cheeks in admiration of her teammate. Who knew he had a side like that..? Well she knew, but she never expected to be right in her guessing. 'Good job, Sasuke..' She thought.
As soon as Sakura lifted the chopsticks, and the food at the end of them touched Naruto's tongue, the sky became dark and swirled overhead in the most sinister and ominous manner. Kakashi's face poked through the dark clouds, shooting forward with his one visible eye wide and menacing, "WHAT DID I TELL YOU ABOUT FEEDING NARUTO?"
Kiyowa, expecting to feel the sinister feelings she had come to feel in these situations lately, was confused to find that she didn't. No, instead am anxious feeling filled her, and it felt like nervousness, but not fear. A feeling that whatever were to happen right now would determine their fates.
"Naruto is our teammate," Sasuke said, taking charge and standing up. This was good, because Kiyowa, Sakura, and even Naruto right now seemed to be trembling too much to say anything in their own defense, "If we had listened to you and not fed him, our teamwork wouldn't stand a chance."
A feeling was radiating from Sasuke, and the blonde haired girl could tell that he was nervous, and yet he had a certain confidence about him, giving her the feeling that he knew something that they didn't.
"WELL! DO YOU KNOW WHAT I HAVE TO SAY ABOUT THIS?"
Kakashi sensei's bellowing at first made Kiyowa unable to breathe, the tension alone becoming heavy and filtering into her throat and lungs like a balloon with too much air, forcing all possible chances at breathing down into her throat with no escape. Now, it was becoming much lighter, and breath was able to escape. Catching her breath finally, she still began gasping and gulping in Oxygen.
"YOU ALL...Pass."
Now all air was more than able to pass through the widening passages of her throat, "Pass... We.. Pass..H..he said we.. pass.," She said to herself, hiking in breath.
"How.. How do we pass? We.. We fed Naruto and.." Sakura was questioning to herself, but the feeling of her fear had made her ears pop, and so she could not tell the difference between speaking and whispering.
"All of those other genin.. they followed everything I said," It didn't seem like a bad thing, but of course there was always a twist, "And they fell into every trap.." And there it was. So was he testing their ability to think freely maybe? "That was the point in having two bells you know, to see if you could overcome that fact to use teamwork." Everyone listened closely, daring not to interrupt the man while he spoke, even if he did seem less irritable now. "In life, people who break the rules, are scum...But people who abandon their friends. They're far worse than scum."
"Hah..So we're scum," Kiyowa heard Naruto laugh as he said it, but even the realization that their new sensei had classified them as scum couldn't lower his mood, for he broke into a fit of laughs. "Scum. Haha. I'm happy to be scum, but we pass we pass!"
"SO, Team 7," Kakashi said, drawing everyone's attention back to him. They all turned up to look at him, trying to see what was next. He drew his hand forward, lifting up his thumb and 'smiling', "We start our training first thing tomorrow!"
Everyone was overjoyed, they smiled and seemed like they wanted to cry after being put through what they had today and actually managing to overcome it. Well of course Sasuke showed his satisfaction with the situation by means of a simple smirk and 'heh' of approval. In fact, they all disbanded, walking off with the feeling of strength and triumph.
Well.. All except...
"HEY! HEY GUYSSS! YOU FORGOT ABOUT MEEEE! COME BACK! UNTIE MEEEEEEE!"
All in all...
A pretty good first day.
A/N: SO. That's the end of that! So! I know some of you are asking what it is Kiyowa Shinzo is feeling at certain times in the story, and I'm sure you'll all be mighty happy to know that it will be addressed within the next two chapters! Yahhhy!
