(Reginald's Pov)

I had finally finished the last class of the day, and I was nervous beyond belief. Damian was coming over. Mom was informed and all, plus he seemed rather nice, but still. THE Damian Wayne. He was one of the most popular people in Gotham, and his father was in the top ten for richest men in the world. All of that would go to Damian. At least I can talk to him without feeling too awkward now.

"Reggie?" Damian called from behind me as I was walking through the halls to the front door. I gave a shy half-smile and walked beside him to our lockers. They were conveniently right next to each other. I placed whatever I needed in my grey back pack and Damian did the same. I walked through the huge gates that closed up once everyone left the school. I walked down the sidewalk, per usual, as Damian walked beside me. It took us a good twenty minutes to get to my place, since the traffic was horrible around this time and we had to cross at least fourteen streets just to get to my block.

We finally walked up to my apartment complex and I let myself in using the keycard. I held the door open for Damian and led him to the elevator. We went up to my floor, and I let Damian into my apartment, closing it behind me the door behind me as I entered. I set my keys in the little bowl we had to keep them in, and set my bag down. Nash came running out and jumped up into my arms before making himself at home laying on my shoulders. He meowed loudly in my ear as I shrugged off my jacket. Damian did so as well and I kicked off my shoes. I told showed him where he could hang up his coat and take off his shoes, all the while Nash was meowing in my ear and started to bat my head with his paws.

"Okay! Okay, I'm going! It would be nice if for once you didn't do that." I told Nash as he jumped down an eagerly waited by his bowl. I grabbed the can of tuna and plopped its contents into the bowl.

"He seems nice." Damian commented as he looked down at Nash.

"He can be a pest, but I love him." I replied, looking down at Nash as well. I lead Damian to my room, and I let him look around.

"This is much nicer than I imagined." He commented, observing the Panic! At The Disco poster on the wall. I knew he wasn't trying to be rude, it just came off that way. He was actually complimenting me, unless I was mistaken.

"Thanks." I started to pull out the boxes of paintings out of my closet. He turned around, intrigued and helped pull a few out.

"These are all of your paintings?" Damian asked.

"All the ones I haven't thrown out." I replied. He nodded and gestured at the box 'May I?' manner. I nodded in response and helped him open them up. I hadn't seen these in forever. Nash had finished eating and laid down in between Damian and I. I noticed that Damian was very gentle while taking out and observing each painting. I appreciated that he was nice with my paintings.

I pulled out one of my oldest watercolor paintings of a girl. It was not the best, to say the least. I silently cringed at my own work. I should throw this out. Damian and I went through all the paintings, then my phone rang. The ringtone was this obnoxious squeaky voice singing.

'Hey, It's your Mum calling! Pick up pick up pick up pick up! Come on! Pick up!-' I answered the call, to hear Mum on the other side.

"Hey, your friend still there?" She asked.

"Yes." I replied.

"Ask him if he's hungry, I'm going to run through somewhere." She said.

"Are you hungry? My mother is going to go get some food." I explained.

"Subway?" He asked. I nodded.

"Mom, we'd like Subway. I'll text you the order." I said.

"Got it." She said, ending the call.

"Here. Text what you want, then I will." I said, handing Damian my phone. He nodded and did so, then handed it back to me. I typed in what I wanted, then sent the message.

"Can I stay another hour?" Damian asked. I was dumbfounded by it though. Was he actually enjoying his time here? With me, The Inventor of Awkward Weirdness? My Mum came up with that nickname. Not to be mean of course.

"Um, I'll ask." I said, calling my Mum again.

"Yes." She answered.

"Can Damian stay over another hour?"

"If his parents are alright with it."

"Okay, bye."

"Bye." I ended the call promptly, and turned to Damian.

"She said if your father is alright with it." I explained. He nodded and called his own father. After a few moments, there was no answer.

"He's fine with it." Damian said, texting a person named Pennyworth who was their... Butler? Right? I think so.

"Are you sure?" I inquired, a little worried.

"If he does not answer it means he is either so busy that he doesn't answer, which happens once every two or three years, or he's fine with whatever I want to do." Damian explained. I nodded hesitantly, but dropped the subject.

"So... My Mum will be here soon with food, and we looked at all the paintings, so what do you want to do?" I asked feeling awkward again. No, no, no, no, no. Not again. How did I make all this awkward? He shrugged in response, looking down at his feet. Nash climbed up onto my lap, and pawed at my hand. This is how he asks to be pet. I obliged to his request, and pet him. Soon enough Damian started to pet him too.

We sat in a comfortable silence, which was odd for me, because I was most likely one of the most awkward people on the planet. The comfortable silence was unnerving, but fairly relaxing in a way. We sat there, petting Nash, waiting for Mum to come home with food. We went on like this for seventeen minutes, I had been counting in my head.

"Maybe a movie?" I suggested quietly. Damian nodded and my tensed demeanor subsided. I got up, and gestured for him to follow me into the living room. I stopped in front of the movie stand.

"You go ahead and pick. Do you want popcorn?" A curt nod was his response, so I walked into the kitchen. I quickly opened the package, and microwaved it according to its instructions. I got out the big plastic bowl from the bottom cupboard and once the popcorn was done, poured it all into the bowl.

I walked over to see Damian crouched, looking through the movies. One movie in his hand already. I set the bowl down on the coffee table that sat in front of the couch and sat down on the floor beside Damian. He had picked out a horror movie, one of my favorites too; Before I Wake. He held the movie up for me to see, and I took it to put it into the DVD player. I had the remotes on the coffee table, but I wanted a blanket. I ran and grabbed the big fluffy white blanket I had in my room. I walked back to the living room to see Damian patiently waiting. I tossed the blanket onto the couch, and closed all the curtains to darken the room. I turned out all the lights, and then started the movie.

I sat down with the blanket wrapped around me, and watched the movie unfold. Soon enough, Damian came closer and covered himself with the blanket too. He and I sat there, shoulder to shoulder and watched the movie. The popcorn was set on both of our laps, half on his, half on mine. About halfway through the movie, Mum finally made it home carrying her purse, briefcase, the food, and her keys. I quickly paused the movie, and helped her out with the bags. I also turned on a light. Damian got up and followed us to get our food.

"Hello Damian, nice to have you here." Mum greeted Damian. He nodded to her, handing her money from his wallet for the food.

"Oh no sweetie, it's on me. You two have fun; I'll be in my room if you two need me. Call me if you need a ride home." He nodded again in acknowledgment as she walked away. Slowly putting the money back into his pocket.

"Here. Mum does this for everyone. It's basic manners for her." I said. I saw his confused demeanor. He must be used to everyone thinking he should pay because he has money. He nodded to me. I noticed, he doesn't talk much, which is fine by me. I understand that his nods are how he thanks, and acknowledge people. Maybe that's why he's portrayed as rude in the papers.

We sat down and ate our food, watching the rest of the movie, and talking. He finally went home at six, two hours longer than we had initially planned. I was glad to have a friend though and that's all I really cared about in the moment.

I am so so so so so sorry about all the mishaps with the publishing. I think I fixed everything. Thank you, and again, I am genuinely sorry. BYE!
