Sorry, sorry, I know I'm late. There's a better apology at the end. Enjoy!

Lucy set her pen down and sighed quietly. "This is all very frustrating." Lucy tapped her fingers on the table. "I wonder what Natsu and Gray are doing right now." Lucy stood up and headed to the place where most of her family was, Fairy Tail.

"Natsu, get yer fuckin' ass over here." Gray motioned the dragon slayer to sit in front of him at a table. The guild was loud and noisy as usual, so speaking in secret wouldn't be a problem.

"'The hell do you want Popsicle?" Natsu said pulling out a chair for himself.

"Lucy asked me if I liked her." Gray slammed his head down on his forearms.

Natsu stood up quickly. "Well what did you say to her?"

"I didn't say anything okay? I said I had to go on a mission with Juvia and I fuckin' left."

Natsu sat back down quietly, his face became more serious by the second. Something was weighing on his mind recently. It wasn't because of what happened with Gray, or that Lucy asked such an absurd question. It was something to be taken seriously. This was something that could be detrimental to Lucy, and even deadly to Natsu's health.

"Gray," Natsu took a breath. It was hard for him to confide in this ice prick, but he was nakama. "I think Lucy's my mate."

Grays' eyes grew wide. "W-what?" Gray couldn't believe it, but it was believable. "Um, okay. We have to stop this bet then."

Natsu looked confused. "Why?" His smiled turned sly. "Afraid you're gonna lose ice dweeb?" Natsu chuckled.

"No you fucking moron. Don't you know about dragons' mates? AREN'T YOU CONSIDERED PART DRAGON?" Gray yelled.

"What's the big deal? Why can't we still do the competition?" Natsu became unhappy again.

Gray sighed heavily. "You fuckin' moron. You'd kill me, literally, if I keep pushing Lucy." Gray walked over to Natsu and gently rested his hands on Natsu's shoulders. "Look, I'm only doing this for my own good. I'm not gonna get myself killed by you." Gray waved Natsu off and took off towards the guild doors.

The walk through Magnolia was peaceful. Lucy summoned Plue for company, petting him as they walked through town. "Oh Plue," Lucy whined. "I like Natsu so much, and he doesn't like me."

"Pun, punn~" Plue sang.

"Aw thanks Plue." Lucy smiled. Her celestial spirits were always there for her.

Suddenly, a big gust of wind hit Magnolia and Loke appeared in front of Lucy. Black suit, tie, those glasses perched on his face, what a classy dresser. Loke pushed his glasses to the bridge of his nose. "Ahem, Lucy my dear maiden, how are you this fine day?" Loke bowed.

Lucy giggled. Loke was such a playboy, yet so sweet to her. "I'm fine Loke, thanks for asking." Lucy mimicked his princely tone, "And what is this fine Knight doing on such a lovely day out of the Celestial Spirit World?"

Loke's smile became dull. "Actually, I sensed you were upset." Loke shrugged. "I guess my senses are getting rusty. But I swore you had heartache. Are you sure you're alright my lovely Lucy?"

"Oh Loke, it's nothing..." Lucy averted her eyes from the Lion Spirit. "I wouldn't want to burden you. I'm alright."

Loke walked closer to Lucy. Plue, suddenly vanished, making Lucy have to face Loke. "Ah, so I was correct." Loke turned Lucy to stare at him in his eyes. "My beautiful master, what is tugging at your heart strings?" Loke was always grateful for Lucy. He gained such a strong-willed, beautiful, smart master. Loke absolutely hated seeing Lucy upset, even if she wasn't showing it on the outside. He vowed that he would rather die over and over than to see Lucy ever cry.

"Loke," Lucy sighed. She stepped closer to Loke, slowly; she wrapped her delicate arms around his torso, hugging him.

"Oh Lucy, it's alright…" Loke buried his face in her golden locks, inhaling the sweet smell of strawberries and vanilla.

"It's not Loke," Lucy mumbled into Loke's chest. "I'm experiencing…" Lucy sniffled, pulling back, but still intertwined with the Lion, "I'm experiencing unrequited love." Loke's heart sank at the end of her sentence. Unrequited love, the worst kind of love. And Lucy, who was the most important thing in Loke's life, was experiencing something he never wanted for her.

Loke promised himself that he would never see her cry, and if he did, he would fix it. He would find a way. Today's the day Loke will fix Lucy. "Oh Lucy," Loke brushed a piece of hair behind Lucy's ear. He wiped her tears with his thumb. "I know what you're goin' through. Trust me; I know this will get better for you."

Lucy's eyes swelled up more from tears. "No it won't Loke. I've been in love with Natsu for so long, and he's too much of an idiot to love someone like… someone like me who isn't strong, or beautiful, or- or like Lisanna. Anyway, you wouldn't understand… You could have any girl you wanted! Ha…" Lucy sniffled more. Loke didn't know what to say to such an idiotic comment. How could Lucy not see?

Lucy gently rested her hands on Loke's forearms (where they were still wrapped around her waist), she smiled as happily as she could muster, "Thank you for the talk Loke. I know you didn't say much, but what you said did help me. You're honestly a really great friend. Thank you." Lucy raised her hand to stroke Loke's cheek. Lucy rose up on her tippy-toes and gave Loke a quick peck on the cheek. "Thanks again Loke." Lucy smiled widely this time. "Now get back to the Spirit World! I don't want you gettin' weak on me!" Lucy winked, and disconnected herself from Loke, heading for the guild.

Loke stood in shock, he rubbed his cheek where the kiss was planted. Unknowingly, drops of tears were sliding down his face. How could she not see that Loke was madly in love with her the day they met? How could she not feel the every time Loke touched her, lightning bolts struck throughout his whole body? He loved her, more than himself. He only wished he could show her. Loke whispered to himself, "Lucy, if I could have any woman, it would be you. How could you say I wouldn't understand when every time I see your angelic, beautiful fucking face, it tears me to pieces, knowing that I can never have you?" Loke clenched his fists. "I love you so fucking much Lucy that I would die a million times just to see you smile once. You're so beautiful and strong and smart. How can you not see that?" Loke wiped his tears. "Lucy, I love you. And if there's one thing I understand the most, it is unrequited love. The only difference is that it will never get better for me." With that, Loke disappeared back into the Celestial Spirit World.
