Entry Six: You're Too Little Too Late Girl
The Letter He Never Read
--
Blast it all, what have I done?
Is this how it ends, is this our last run?
I once was blind, but now I see
It was you that night, the one watching me
The only eyes to hold that grip
Held on tight, with not a slip
--
How could I miss such an obvious note!
Spellbound indeed, "Spellbound" I quote!
Once again you won the fool
She danced in a crowd, and did it for you
So here I go, another round
Of sleepless nights and pacing the ground
--
Why in the hells did you have to appear then?
Egging the crowd, and egging my friends
Your "Mistress of Magic" as you so called your doll
Perfect in every move, never once did she fall
Holding her ground, while you strung her along
She enjoyed the attention, but loved yours most of all
--
Did you know I was coming?
Was this an elaborate plot?
One of your games
To drive me insane
If not, then what am I supposed to think?
Trust is out of the question, and confusions made my heart sink
--
Why is it, with every little move you make
Comes back to me, my heart I forsake
I can't trust myself, and I can't make a move
But the ball's in my court, what am I to do?
The chessboard of love, I thought I fell out
But here I am again, and once again I doubt
--
If doubt leads to fear, then a coward I be
For turning my back, and leaving the board incomplete
If this poem should find you, one way or the other
I'm tired of caring, but since I can't sleep the mind wanders
Staring out my window, I never thought with his final line I conclude
P.S. I'm still not over you.
