A/N: So hopefully this chapter will answer up some questions about James that most have probably been wondering, also this is where the story diverges from the original timeline.

A tiny girl with long tangled black hair sat in the high Goblin seat of Gringotts, the crystal doors shined in the light, the warning glimmering in malicious greedy gold.

"Enter, stranger, but take heed

Of what awaits the sin of greed

For those who take, but do not earn

Must pay most dearly in their turn

So if you seek beneath our floors

A treasure that was never yours

Thief, you have been warned, beware

Of finding more than treasure there."

She had dead violet colored eyes and seemed to be waiting for someone, an older girl that laid sprawled out on the floor, her body seemingly lifeless.

"Jamie…" The girl sneered slightly, "James, Jay, Jaybird, Black, Sly…who are you?"

The body didn't speak and wouldn't speak because James was the little girl but wasn't because James didn't sneer like her…James also didn't have Slytherin robes like hers. This was James on the inside, the scared insecure girl that sat on the high Goblin seat, her hair ratty and her teeth crooked.

"Betrayed, hurt, and yet you keep going back for more," She jeered slightly in self-hatred, "Pathetic…"

"Your angry but all you do is let it fester until you break down like you always do," She continued on, "You've had worse breakdowns hidden from the world…scars long since faded."

"Whose Momma's special girl?" A woman with long bright sunny blonde hair and violet eyes that glimmered indigo in the light cooed towards her, "My precious little Jaybird…may your wings spread and your heart soar."

"Lost in memories of the past that won't leave you alone, but refusing to trust anyone to help you through it." She sighed slightly as her robes changed to Ravenclaw one's, "Hiding within yourself isn't healthy and you hate it because you believe that's what your Mother's doing. Hiding inside herself, abandoning you to the years of abuse from her family."

"Daddy's little princess," Sirius laughed tossing the tiny tot into the air, catching and then cradling her as she giggled uproariously with wide eyes.

"Igher!" She squealed as her father tossed her up again.

"Your father is someone you love, hate, and long for," Her tiny self was nod decked in yellow and black, "You're loyalty is has been proven time and time again…but is your loyalty appreciated?"

Hermione glared at another girl with envy, the girl turning to her with a beautiful smile on her face that died a quick death at the glare, "Fierce?"

"Get away!" Harry snarled at a terrified girl with horrified eyes who stumbled away from him, deep cries falling from her mouth.

"I'll never leave you." Fred swore slightly, a hand cupping the side of her face. Angelina smirked as she ripped the boy away from her, his face displaying a dazed smile.

"Aren't you tired?" Little-James bore her own scarlet and gold now, "Noble, self-sacrificing, and brave beyond measure is a Gryffindor's greatest treasure…is it yours?"

"Crucio!" Voldemort hissed, a dark haired girl flinging herself in front of her cousin, her body falling into convulsions of pain.

"I'm good," James replied as Bagman offered some 'advice' about the tasks, her eyes coolly regarding the older man, "I've got my own plan."

"Leave him alone!" James yelled as she ran forward catching the terrified and shaking black ferret that hid quickly in her rob sleeve, her eyes defiantly staring back at Mad eye Moody, stance firm.

"I must not be a blood traitor." Little James whispered as she spun in the center of the room besides her older body, "I must not be a blood traitor."

James snapped awake gasping for breath, tears streaming down her face only to be pulled in a large chest.

"Shush, baby…" Sirius, her father whispered petting her hair, "I'm here…I'm always here."

"Daddy…" James whimpered clinging to his front causing a pang of guilt to shoot through his heart as his baby girl sobbed openly and loudly.

"Did you honestly think you could get away with it?" Sirius roared from his spot on the Wizengamot, his face murderous as he gazed at the cowering woman in the defendant's chair.

"I'm sorry!" She cried, her large face blotchy as she glanced around her in a horrified way, "I was under orders!"

"She's the heiress of the house of Black…" Sirius murmured with a cool look on his face, "Are you suggesting that someone in this Government has given your illegal permission to harm and mutilate my daughter?"

"Fudge did it!" She cried as the pudgy man turned pale, "He said it would be fine to put them in their place!"

"She is above you." Madam Longbottom snapped with narrowed eyes, "Both children have positions that outrank yours, so I can't understand by what you mean by place?"

"I didn't know!" Umbridge wailed as she sunk low in her seat terrified as a Dementor loomed closer.

"You're only sorry you were caught," Sirius snapped, "There's not a way for you to claim ignorance of their heritage as they bare their families names!"

"Take her away!" Amelia Bones gritted out as she turned dark eyes on to a frightened Minister.

"Now Amelia dear…" Fudge stuttered out as he patted away his sweat using a handkerchief.

"Arurors!" Amelia snarled and Fudge could only whimper as he was stunned and incarcerated.

"James…" Remus murmured as the girl read a small book, curled in the Black library under the watchful eyes of her ancestors.

"Yes?" James asked rubbing her right eye as she glanced up from her book.

"Umbridge has been sentenced to life in Azkaban with Fudge." Remus whispered and smiled a bit at the spark of anger that lit up in her eyes making her seem slightly more alive than she had been before.

"Good." The harsh tone was like music to his ears.

"Are you hungry?" Remus asked with a larger smile.

"Yeah…" James whispered dog-earing her page and setting it aside as she got up and headed towards the kitchen.

James bit her lip as she stared at the mirror in her hand before taking a deep breath and tapped her wand on the glass, "Harry Potter."

"James?" A husky with sleep asked as Harry peered into the mirror, moonlight shining on his face helping her see him.

"I don't forgive you." James murmured with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Forgive me?" He asked as he rubbed his eyes, "What'd I do now?"

"A lot of things," She admitted feeling very small in her chair, "When we were younger and lived with the Dursleys…I was the one who always looked after you…but you never returned the favor. I'd step in when they were hurting you and you'd just run away when they changed their attention on me."

"James I was kid-" Harry began to make an excuse but silenced at the sight of her raised hand.

"When we started school and began to make friends…it was like I wasn't needed anymore," James continued, "Who needs James Black when you have Hermione Granger?"

"Hermione was never you're replacement," Harry said furiously, "I could never replace you!"

"Everytime I told you something it was thrown out as a flawed idea," She continued as she had never heard him, "You probably have no idea how much it meant to me that you actually listened to me last year during the Third Task."

"During second year," She started with a frown on her face, "It was fine for me to be called the Slytherin Heiress but god forbid it be you."

Finally realizing that James was trying to get the stuff that had affected her so badly off of her chest Harry kept silent.

"Then third year," James murmured darkly, "I've been with you my entire life and you turn on me in a matter of seconds…over a father I've never known."

"Then in fourth year," James shook her head, "In fourth year all you cared about was your own skin, I was left on my own again like always…always by myself…"

"James…" Harry whispered softly, "I-I didn't know you felt that way."

"I thought of committing suicide at the age of ten," James wistfully spoke as she looked at him with haunted eyes, "I could've done it…I was going to….but then you came to me crying because Dudley had broken your glasses again…I couldn't leave you alone like you left me…"

Harry made to speak only for James's face to change into his as she cut the connection and Harry cried…cried for James because she wasn't crying for herself.

"George?" James asked peering at the grumbling figure in the mirror.

"Lee." He murmured tiredly brushing his dreadlocks out of his face, "Twins are out doing something."

"Can…Can you get George please?" James pleaded with a choked up voice and Lee suddenly could see clearly at the tear filled voice.

"Yeah…Yeah I can James just wait a click." Lee reassured her as he got out of bed and left the Gryffindor common room with the duplicated map the twins and he had made themselves.

"James, what's wrong love?" George asked as Lee distracted Fred from coming over, his long legs taking him from the room and into another.

"Did…Did you know that for someone to be confounded into a relationship the other party has to want it too?" James asked so softly George barely heard it and when he did it made his stomach burn with anger.

"No," George admitted, "I didn't."

"Is it crazy that I'm mad at him for it?" James asked lightly, "That every time I see Angelina I wonder what makes her so special he'd still want her when he has me?"

James didn't wait for an answer that George was unprepared to give, "I had Hermione confund me…to try and understand better…but I don't understand because the Confudus didn't work on me…sure it could make me dazed and forgettable for the duration of the charm but the only time it ever made me change was when she made me think I was Irene Adler…one of my favorite book characters."

"I don't think it's crazy," George sighed out rubbing his hair out of his face, "I think I understand perfectly well how much that has to hurt."

"I hate him…" James bitterly added, "I hate him for making me love him even when he loves another woman."

"But you love him and want it to work out," George said with a nod of his head as her face crumbled a bit.

"What do I do?" James whimpered out, tears coming to her eyes once more and George felt his fist clench at the thought of her being hurt more.

"You talk to him." George told her, "You need to tell him how you feel…and if he understands why you feel that way."

"Can…Can you give him the mirror?" James asked with a trembling lip.

"James, baby?" Fred asked in concern as he left the room with the sobbing mirror, "Sweetie are you okay?"

"I," She forced out between her sobs, "Hate you!"

"Jamie?" Fred asked as he sat down feeling a bit cold at her words.

"Why…why do you want Angelina?" James asked as she rubbed the tears from her face, "Does she have something I don't have?"

"James," Fred bit out, "You know I don't want Angelina…She confunded me."

"You have to want the person to be yours to be confunded that way!" James yelled with angry sparking eyes.

"She confunded me into believing she was you!" Fred snapped as forced his own tears back even as his voice broke, "I have and always have wanted you!"

"When you this little bitty thing during your First Year, " Fred snapped, "You always looked so alone as your cousin and his friend wondered off without you."

"During second year…when I saw you in that cupboard under the stairs I thought you were dead…" Fred looked lost then but James was looking more alert as she calmed down some.

"Then you were attacked by Ginny, possessed but still her, during the year…" Fred shook his head, "Then third year…god during third year you were the saddest most beautiful thing I've ever seen…I loved you from afar and then you gave me the chance to love you up close I'd never give that up…"

Fred didn't notice Lee or George in the room as they listened to him talk, "Because I was so used to seeing you fake a smirking grin every day that the first time I made you smile it was like I couldn't breathe…the way you laugh is adorable because you're so small and then you have this big barking laugh like your dad's."

"I wanted to be the one that got you to laugh like that," Fred told him trailing a finger on her reflective face, "To smile your shy lopsided smiles…I wanted you to be loved like you should have been all along."

"Freddy…" James whimpered and Fred smiled seeing her small little smile even as it was stained with her tears.

"I love you." Fred told her fiercely with fire in his eyes, "If…you had come to me after the first detention…"

"I did…" James murmured, "I went to your room but you weren't there…I didn't see you for what felt like weeks…I know your busy with Newts and the shop…I didn't want to bother you…I didn't think you'd care."

"I want to know when you stub you little toes," Fred told her with a half serious and half joking voice, "Jamie…I always have time for you…George does, Lee does…You're like their little sister James…and I love you more than anything in this world because making you smile makes me smile…"

"I love you too." James whispered before yawning.

"Get some rest love." Fred whispered watching her, "I'm always a mirror or floo away hun."

"O-Okay." James yawned again before the two blew kisses and hung up.

"I'm a bit tired too guys," Fred murmured turning to the spluttering and shocked eavesdroppers, "I'm gonna go catch a few hours, coming gents?"

James brushed her bangs out of her face and took a deep breath before letting it out, "You can do this Jamie."

She pushed the door open to look at the woman sitting up in pristine white bed staring at the wall with glossy violet eyes,"Momma?"
