I sat in wonder watching Briseis play with her hair as we waited for the cousins to come back. It was so quiet in the tent. I wasn't quite sure how to bond with her. I was in her world anyway. The more I thought about it the more I wanted to find my way back home...

"Soooo..."

Briseis turned to look at me. "What?" She was being a brat.

"We aren't going to be able to be friends are we?"
"I don't know. That's up to you."

"Well I wouldn't mind being friends."

She politely knocked my comment to the side. "So, Achilles says you can sing. Can you sing me something?"

I kind of smiled at the thought. "What is this going to be an everyday thing? Because I usually don't let anyone hear me...or see me."

"Why? You're beautiful and from what Achilles tells me your voice is exceptional."

"I don't know, I'm not really in the mood." I stood up and went to exit the tent. I bowed my head, solemnly, I was head over heels for Achilles and I knew I could not compete with her. I was out of place here. I looked over at her before I took a step forward.

I took a body slam and tumbled down, a body fell right on top of me. I looked up and saw Patroclus looking down at me. I was awestruck and looked into his blue eyes. I found something in him, was it the naive boy I initially turned down...?

"I'm sorry," He got to his feet quickly and helped me to mine.

"Quite alright. It was my fault" I stuttered. He gave me a how-do-you-figure look.

"I'm sorry if I hurt you." he looked into my eyes and I was drawn slightly breathless.

I shook my head. "I was just about to go for a walk, would you care to join me?"

"Well my cousin or I should be accompanying you anyway." He paused, "But I will certainly join you." he flashed me a glowing smile. And we walked out together.

We walked slowly on the sandbar silently, the sand warm beneath my feet, I felt a warmth in myself, it felt like a beam of light shining deep within. I stopped suddenly and turned to him "I'm sorry."

"For what?"

"This morning. I'm... I've never been with anyone." He looked at me and seemed surprised. "Where I come from, I've never been around men like this. I can't even tell you what a relief it is to tell you-"

He grabbed me and pulled me in and kissed me. His lips felt warm and the touch from his fingers sent electricity through my body and reverberated inside my heart, it was beating erratically. I felt my fingertips meet and hold gently onto his elbows. I slowly eased in until I was pressed against him, a hand came up and weaved into my hair. I had never felt as I did now. It was everything I ever expected out of a kiss. I was coming back for more when he suddenly pulled away. "I-I I'm sorry Chrysanthe..."

I looked at my feet and placed a strand of my hair behind my ear, and spoke quietly "Why, I liked it." I peeked up at him and he seemed torn.

"I- you're so beautiful, and-"

"Shut up." in a moment of strength I pulled him back in and landed another on him, my arms wrapped around his neck. I couldn't control myself. His scent intoxicated me, the smell of leather and woodsmoke. The boy was not just a boy and I was seeing that now, he was probably my age and just as lost and alone as I was. I slipped my tongue into his mouth and moaned softly. He soon engaged right back with me and wrapped one arm around my waist while the other was on the back of my head, holding me in place. I gently bit his lip.

"Patroclus" hollered a voice, we immediately pulled away and saw Achilles strolling toward us.

"Yes Cousin?"

"Come with me." were the only words he spoke. Patroclus became obedient and began walking towards his cousin.

I didn't want him to go...
