Kupa P.O.V

I asked Riri and Haidai to help me carry Ari to the bed. Once we had her lying on top of the covers on the bed I sighed and took up residence beside her head on the floor, my back resting against the bed.

"Are sure she's going to be okay?" Riri asked me concern lacing her voice and features.

I nodded not trusting my voice and closed my eyes. I remember when I found out about her past it was a few days before 'The Incident'. I was shocked at first but that turned to concern and worry and later protectiveness when we had to run. We went to stay with Arita first but we had to leave and Arita came with us, the others we picked up along the way of our travels. We all were running or hiding from something and we understood that, we became a unit to hold against the demons of the past. We all have gone through so much but not as much as Ari, she looked so helpless the first time I saw her barely recognizable as a human let alone a young girl.

I giggled and ran away from the boy chasing me. He and I were best of friends. I had ducked into the barn and wriggled out of a small hole in one of the back corners and ran to hide in the overgrown lane behind my house. As I skidded to a halt I heard a gasp and then a whimper, looking around I barely caught the wisps of hair tangled in a briar bush. Walking slowly towards it I heard another whimper but this one was different. When I rounded the first bush I saw something. I couldn't recognize what it was, I thought it was an animal until it showed its face. I gasped and dropped to my knees. White-violet hair was matted and plastered to the head and liquid gold eyes looked at me brokenly. There was blood staining her clothes near her heart and a deep cut running down over her right eye.

"Are you hurt?" I asked quietly as to not frighten it further.

"No," it croaked out from a dry raspy throat.

I shook my head softly and stood up slowly before gently untangling the hair from the briar bush. Once it was done the child/human/it stood or well tried to. I rushed to their side and looped my arm under the left arm of theirs.

"What's your name, mine's Kupa," I said calmly.

"A-Arishya, I'm Arishya," they mumbled in reply.

My eyes widened in shock, it was a girl I just helped. I helped to support her the whole way to my house, when we reached it my mother rushed out and upon seeing Arishya stopped in her tracks.

"Mum Arishya needs some help, she's alone and hurt," I told her sadly.

My mother broke out of her trance and ushered us upstairs into the bathroom. It was three days later when Arishya left the guest room and ventured to the back porch in the dead of night. I followed her and saw her look up wistfully at the moon.

"I miss you Mama, Papa. I will avenge us and our nobility, it may take a while but it will be done and then you can be properly buried and not in those coffins and the tomb to preserve you until you are finally laid to rest. I wish you were here but I have to strong I cannot be weak again I will never be innocent again, ever again," Arishya stated with conviction.

I walked to her and sat down next to her pulling her in a hug. Arishya snuggled into the hug and we sat like that in comfortable and companionable silence.

~End Memory~

Ari would only open up to me back then, she only trusted me. I looked up at her sleeping face and sighed in content knowing that no matter what we would always have each other. I grabbed the moonstone friendship bracelets on the bedside table and put them on our wrists before closing my eyes and falling into a light sleep.

Aritsusa P.O.V

I felt bad about inviting the guys over. We never knew when something like this would happen, if only Yuki wasn't as chivalrous as Kade then maybe she could forget her secret past for a while. I knew only one of her secrets but that secret was the most dangerous of them all.

"Is Miss Kupa not going to join us again?" Yuki asked.

"Ari needs her and so she will stay by her until she is not needed anymore," Haidai replied.

"Why the hell would she do that?" Kyo asked.

"Ari and Kupa are sisters even though they may not be related by blood but they have been there for each other through thick and thin, they're the closest to family each other has," I replied sadly but with a deadly tone to my voice.

"So Miss Shamein what brings you six to Japan?" Yuki asked Shamein.

"Exchange students, Arishya and Arita were supposed to be the only ones but then Kupa dragged us all into it together," Shamein replied.

Yuki and Kyo looked skeptical at first and I realized it was because of her little 'freak out' the other day.

"She doesn't like the rain very much, hasn't since she was a little girl, and she is slightly bipolar she can change moods in seconds" I covered up hastily.

They didn't look convinced but let the subject drop. We heard a crash in the next room before Ari stormed out, a murderous expression on her face. Yuki went to stand but Shamein held him down by the shoulders as Ari went to the punching bag and started to lay into it.

"What is she doing?" Kyo yelled.

"She's just expelling some steam," Riri replied casually as if this sort of thing happened everyday.

Ari stopped beating the crap out of the bag a few minutes later and dropped to the floor on her back.

"Feeling better?" Kupa asked from the doorway to the bedroom.

Yuki P.O.V

I turned to where Miss Kupa's voice came from and nearly dropped my jaw in surprise. A purple bruised swelled around her left eye closing it nearly shut, her upper lip was bleeding pretty badly and she had a bloody nose.

"Kupa," Ari yelled alarmed.

I watched as Ari ran to her side and pressed her bracelet to Miss Kupa's and then a few seconds later Miss Kupa looked fine except for the black eye.

"Ari I look like a freaking pirate," Kupa whined.

Ari just smirked and left Kupa to her whining. They didn't seem completely normal, they definitely have some secrets, but I won't push them for answers yet. I wonder what Arishya's past is like, she seems to be a fun-loving girl but there is great sadness hidden underneath. What made her so sad and unhappy and for her to have episodes like that? I guess I'll never know.

Arishya P.O.V

I watched out of the corner of my eye as Yuki watched me thoughtfully. I can't let him get close; no one shall ever be hurt again.

"Tohru and Shigure will be coming home soon rat," Kyo said.

"Oh, we better get going then," Yuki said snapping out of his thoughts.

"Would you like us to walk you home?" Arita asked innocently.

"Arita," I warned.

"Uh no it'll be fine thanks though," Kyo replied hastily.

I turned and smiled at the two of them showing them the way out. Yuki gave me a brilliant smile. I smiled at them and watched as they started to walk down the road. As I turned to head back inside I saw a shadow moved as if it was trailing them and I paused. Whipping out my cell I texted the others that I saw something and was going to check it out before ducking between two houses and changed into her assassin clothes. Black leggings clung to my legs, a skin-tight singlet shirt protected my upper body with a small form-fitting black leather jacket over the singlet but the front was unzipped. I checked my guns and started out after the boys.

I caught up with them a few moments later, and not to soon, because just then the shadow jumped out and knocked them to the ground. I moved into action spurred on by the sight of Yuki lying helplessly on the ground while Kyo tried to protect him. I jumped in front of the blade and it sliced into my left shoulder, stifling a cry of pain, I gritted my teeth and kicked the person's shins before following them to the ground. We tumbled around and the knife was lost before I was thrown into a tree, dazed I felt myself being lifted up, focusing I saw the person's face for the first time.

"Takeru," I gasped.

Takeru grinned creepily and I hit his head with my fist, dropping me I rolled into a ball before jumping up and taking position in front of the boys. Takeru turned to me and I couldn't help it, my black wings burst forth and I winced in pain as they came out.

"My Dark Angel," Takeru said lovingly.
