Leaf and Blue walked to the door before they grabbed their coats from the closet.

"I still don't see why you gotta walk me over to my house. I live next door!" the gym leader said zipping his coat.

"I dunno either, but it will give Red and Touko some alone time~," Leaf sang with a cashier grin. The blue eyed man sighed before he opened the door while the brown girl followed.

"Why do you want them together again?" he asked with a frown while snowflakes got caught in his unruly brown hair.

"You heard me. She understands him, she isn't looking for press, she defeated Team Plasma, and I WANT NIECES AND NEWPHEWS!" the woman declared. Blue laughed.

"What is it with you and kids? Why do you want them so badly?" Leaf stopped in the snow and looked at him.

"Because! They're adorable! I'll get to spoil them and dress them up in outfits!" Blue raised his eyebrows.

"Wow. That is such good reasoning for bringing a child into the world," he said sarcastically. Leaf rolled her brown eyes.

"I wouldn't be having the baby, Touko would! I don't wanna worry about getting fat and having stretch marks."

"But what about giving unconditional love and support and raising them to responsible adults? Not only would you make them happy, but you'd have the satisfaction of knowing you had created that person to be who are," Blue said simply. Leaf stared at him for a good twenty seconds.

Did he just say something somewhat smart?

"What?" the Pallet Town native asked puzzled. Leaf looked down at the snow before a light bulb went off.

"Blue, do you want kids?" she asked shyly. Blue paused before going silent.

"… I dunno. I mean, not now anyway. I'm twenty-two years old. I have a job as a gym leader and still live with my grandfather. Plus, I'm scared of messing them up." The last statement shocked the young woman but he continued, "Gramps spoiled me after my mom and dad died to the point I became a brat. I was terrible to you and Red and he didn't say anything until Red took the champion title. Even though I did work hard with my Pokémon to get there and that I knew he was partly right about what he said, it was still a slap to the face. Even now it scares me… I don't want to be like that again, and if I have kids, I don't want them to have to go through that…" he trailed off, his eyes becoming watery. Leaf stood in shock, not realizing this information before.

How could I not have noticed? Her childhood friend blinked back his tears.

"Come on, let's go home, Leaf,"he told her, as though nothing had happened. He walked towards his home before the young woman hesitantly followed.
