YAY NEW CHAPTER.
I do not own Vocaloid, but do own the three other characters in this.
Please RR, and enjoy!
Anon's POV.
"Lily, Oliver, Anon, Kanon, Yukari, Galaco, Maika and Akaito. You eight students have been chosen for a special mission, the entity you have been chosen to track down and capture is one of an ancient race. This species is extremely dangerous and eight of you will not do"
A man with matted black hair stood in front of the eight teens sitting below him, his glasses were cracked on one side, he wore a black suit with a red tie.
Lily put her hand up, her arm was bandaged and her midriff showed more bandages covering her stomach. Her blonde hair was rugged looking and her usually bright blue eyes had a grey tinge to them.
"Yes Miss Lily?" the man looked down towards Lily, staring her right in the eye.
"Pardon me sir, but what species is this 'entity'?" she asked as politely as possible.
"The species that you are hunting is called 'shapeshifter'.They are an ancient race and twenty low class shifters could wipe out an army of a thousand. If you compare that to a noble, all it would take to wipe out one thousand would be themselves." the man replied.
I raised my hand, this was quite an important question. The man signaled me to ask, I opened my mouth:
"What powers or abilities does it have?"
"The shapeshifter has many, the first ability gives it the name of 'shapeshifter'. If they come in physical contact with any person, they will instantly know everything about them. They can take on the victims form, although there is a very dangerous thing about this. The moment they enter their final form - or their true form, shapeshifters can take your form just by making eye contact with you. The dangerous part is that they have that form of you forever, only they can delete that form from their memory. That is why shapeshifters usually go after people with high authority or immense amounts of power.
"The second ability is their weapon or artifact. This is what gives them some of their power, the power for changing forms is born within them - so is their different ability, I will get to that later. Their weapon is usually a channel for their power, in other words it helps keep the flow of power under control. This weapon can have short range effects or long range effects, it depends on the ability. The artifact is carried around with the shapeshifter all the time and can be used no matter form it is in. It can also be used by other shapeshifters, but they will have less control over the weapon.
"The third ability is their true form, this is like a power release. The artifact is abandoned and the shapeshifters enters a form in which can have drastic effects on the opponent and bystanders. For example, shapeshifter with the power to control nuclear energy would contaminate the area with it's powers and the opponent would be dead very soon. Some do not any effects on bystanders at all, just the opponent. Others could effect even the shapeshifter itself. Either way, you must take down the shapeshifter before this happens.
"The fourth ability doesn't do much and has very little fighting ability. The shifter will enter a form and attempt to run away from the current location, this usually when it is defeated."
I nodded, what a large amount of information.
Merli(Spirit Side)POV.
I looked out of the window of the ship, the horizon was decorated with beautiful blue, the dark green of the grass mixed with the light blue creating a dark aqua green. It reminded me of that night, the night that those two had a fight.
The night she gave away her species.
Once upon a time I was human, I lived in a family of humans.
Now I am either loved or hated.
I don't feel sorry for the shapeshifters, I mean - their homes were destroyed and innocents were killed.
I began to question myself about this matter.
Why do I suddenly despise her, just because she is a shapeshifter?
Why do I try to attack her when I meet her, while Miku and a few others try to talk?
Why are we chasing her?
Maybe Miku doesn't want to be responsible for mass killings?
There I go again!
The moment I begin to question myself, I begin to hate shapeshifters more and MORE.
"What the hell is wrong with me?" I questioned the empty air.
Then suddenly a scream.
It sounded robotic, like a Vocaloids!
Then the silence of the night swallowed it.
I rushed outside of the ship, all the Vocaloids were out there. Not one missing.
That could leave only one answer.
Miku's(Spirit Side) POV.
I heard a scream and bolted outside, as did all the other Vocaloids.
I rushed outside to silence, as the other Vocaloids came out of the ship behind us. They looked around the dark forest, barley being able to make out anything.
"This is where Iroha comes in handy..." I muttered, the neko fanatic. Both of her eyes her robotic and can help her see through certain spells, give herself night vision and heaps more. Unfortunately she had to stay back at the manor for one reason or another.
"Teto" I mumbled.
"Yes?"
"Light please"
At that I saw the pink coloured parts on Teto's uniform light up along with certain parts of her hair. I heard a click and a pink neon coloured flames appeared in Teto's hand. The clearing we had landed in was lit up with a bright pink glow, the trees surrounding blocked off almost all of the light, making anything beyond them turn into a dark void.
"It was this way" I heard Gapuko say, looking over to him I saw him pointing towards one of the gaps in the trees.
"Ok. lets go. Everyone be on your guard!" I waved behind me and ran into the dark gap, Teto behind me providing light.
We ran for around five minutes until my surroundings turned black completely. Looking around in panic wondering what was happening. I couldn't sense any power coming from Teto, or anyone else. All I could hear was my own breathing, combined with the others. In the background I heard a few animals jump down from their perches and scatter.
"Teto?" I asked quietly.
"Yes..." I heard her answer.
"Light please"
"Can't"
"Why?"
"There's some sort of spells that's constricting our power usage" Gapuko answered my question. "There might be something trying to heal itself nearby."
"Guys, light up your uniforms. So at least we can see each other" Gumi mumbled.
Multiple colours lit up in the dark, from yellow, right through to purple. I could see my fellow Vocaloids and guess the whereabouts of certain body parts.
"Rainbooooooowwwwwww" I heard someone whisper.
"Not now, Haku" I heard Meiko whisper to Haku.
I walked slowly, and soon saw a faint glow in the dark, it seemed white, and looked like it was going to run away if I reached for it.
I contemplated the consequences of touching the white white light now floating in front of me. If I touched it I could be fatally wounded and there is also the possibility of facing a highly destructive power. Then if I didn't I could be missing out on so much, and it's probably annoy me anyway if was left there.
"I can't die anyway" I muttered and brought my hand up to touch it.
"Wait Miku, don't touch that!" I heard Luka yell.
"Why?" asked Rin.
"Because that's a shapeshifter trying to heal!"
Shapeshifter.
Healing.
Shapeshifter.
Explosions.
Pain.
Those were the last four words to pass through my head before my hand touched it and a white light engulfed me.
Miku's POV.
It was pitch black as I walked though the dark forest towards what sounded like a scream. The fresh air, and the feel of leaves brushing against me felt like I was dreaming. Then a white light caught my attention. I was as bright as the sun and hurt my eyes. As I got closer to it I could feel an intense heat, and realised that this light wasn't normal. It was searing hot and I could feel my skin burning.
I had to leave, otherwise I would be burnt alive.
I turned on my heel and began to sprint away from the light, tripping over sticks and fallen branches. I could tell I was bleeding, and my arm was burnt. I tripped over and landed heavily, the wind knocked out of me. Struggling to gain my breath, I heaved myself up and looked behind me. My eyes widened, the light was getting closer. Not only that, but there I saw something blocking part of the light.
A person.
I blinked, a person? A person was running towards me, covered in burns and what looked like a metal hand?
Blinking multiple times, I stared at the person as they got closer. The light shining behind them.
That's right...
The light that was going to burn me...
Is getting closer...
It might kill me...
But that person looks like a robot...
But I don't think I should be worrying about the person...
"WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING!?" I shouted, and began to sprint in the opposite direction of the light.
I ran, and ran. Leaves and branches still scraping a my legs, face and hands. I could hear my uniform being torn and some of my hair being pulled out. Then suddenly a tree appeared about five meters in front of me.
"Hello tree" I said and cut the stump in half using some power from my sword. The trunk fell in the direction a I was running as well. I jump the stump, and ran down the trunk of the tree.
"Convenience!" I yelled, smiling.
Why am I happy?
I jump a few more logs and even ran over a creek, I could tell the light was gone. The person was still running though. If the person was still running, then something must still be up or..
"She could be trying to kill me..." I whispered to myself as I ran.
I launched myself off a log and out into the open, right towards our base. I landed heavily, as the adrenaline disappeared. All the pain began to coarse through my body and I could tell that I was a leafy, blood-soaked, burnt mess.
I stood up straight and walked round to the front, only to see the worst horror ever.
The three people I worked with.
My Director.
My Stylist.
My Editor.
They all turned around, and the twins and all the others that were trying to distract the three people while I was supposedly 'taking a walk' gaped at my appearance.
I looked at myself, I was covered in blood, mud, leaves and one of my arms were severely burnt. I could make up a pretty goo excuse for my current situation.
"Uhhhhhh, Miku..." Gumi said to me.
"Yes?" I replied.
'Your sword' she mouthed and pointed to the oversized weapon in my hand.
"Oh, shit" I mumbled, looking to my left.
Rin POV.
Miku stood there, her school uniform torn to shreds. She was cut in multiple places and the front of her body had mud down the front. Her face was bloody and covered in dirt, leaves strung to her hair and sticks pointed out of it. Just to make it worse the girl was holding a large sword in her hand. It was silvery grey and had black rims on the out side of it, the handle was black, silver and gold.
"Uhhhhhh Miku" I heard Gumi say.
"Yes?" the blood-soaked girl answered.
'Your sword' I heard Gumi mouth.
"Oh, shit" I heard Miku whisper to herself.
The three women stared at Miku, they obviously couldn't take the fact that their favorite client was standing their, holding a large weapon, covered in blood and nature.
"Miku..." whispered the Editor, Molly. She fell backwards, Gapuko and Kaito rushed forward to catch her and laid her down gently.
"M-Miku, what have y-you been doing?" stuttered the Director, Jayde.
"YOUR A BLOODY MESS" shouted the Stylist, Aleesha. Eyeing the massive sword in Miku's hand she pointed at it, her hand shaking.
"And what is that?" Aleesha asked.
"A sword" Miku answered.
"Is it real...?" asked Jayde.
"Very real, it was designed for fighting monsters."
"MONSTERS?" shouted Molly, she jumped up began to look around while hyperventilating.
"Now, now" Gumi started, "before anyone else see's Miku like this, why don't we go inside?"
The three witnesses nodded and began to help their panicked friend inside. I followed in after the rest of the group and shut the door behind me, as everyone walked upstairs to explain the concept of monsters to the panicking women, I walked out to the back door and towards the forest to have a look at what Miku was doing back there.
I walked through the trees, and found a massive trunk. I looked at the base of the tree, it had been sliced off neatly. The surface was smooth, as far as I knew, only Miku's sword could do something like that.
I kept on walking, following a trail of rushed footsteps create by Miku. I came tao clearing, I saw burnt stumps of trees, bushes and ash.
"A fire?" I whispered, bending down to rub my fingers in the dirt.
I kept walking, avoiding charred stumps and burnt bushes. I thought it was a hallucination at first. but saw what looked like a body directly in front of me.
I ran towards it, preparing for the worst. As I got closer too the figure, I began to recognise human features, a burnt arm, and a few other parts of the body that were burnt. For some reason the hair was still intact...
I ran over to the body, she was female. I couldn't tell her age exactly, but she was defiantly alive. and she looked way too familiar.
Maybe it was the silvery white hair that covered her body, or the pale white skin.
I recognised the woman to be Haku.
Haku who fought alongside us.
But Haku was back there, at the base, with all the others...
I jumped up and took a step back, a shadow had fallen over the woman.
I looked at the person across from me, short yellow hair, a white bow on her head, a sailor uniform with arm and leg warmers, bright blue eyes.
Another, older version of me stood about a meter apart from me.
I just stared, shocked at the sight of another me.
Another Kagamine Rin.
"I don't think I was meant to meet you..." she said, her voice was robotic sounding.
"Y-yeah" I stuttered in return.
"Oh, well! Looks like we broke the rules...again" the other me said throwing her arms up in the air and turning around.
"Hey, what about your friend?" I shouted, pointing at Haku.
"Oh, she'll heal soon. Besides, we can't die, that's why we always break the rules and mess with the most destructive people in the universe." Rin turned around one hand covering her mouth and the other waving as if she was dismissing the topic.
"Oh" I replied, she was just like me.
I like her, I thought smiling.
"Ugh that hurt like shit." I heard Haku say below me, as she stood up - not a scratch on her.
I stared as Haku walked away, my other self had disappeared.
"Wow" I breathed.
