Sally couldn't believe it. Was Doc?.. the race car driver? "What are you doing?" Docs voice startled her. She stared. She spoke.. "Are?.. are you the Hudson Hornet?" She asked. Doc sighed. Sally added in "I.. I heard so much about you? I'm sorry to say I never actually watched you race?.. but.." "Good. That world is filled with nothing but fake people. It destroys you. Better off without the racing world knowing I'm here." Sally frowned. She glanced at the car. The trophies.. "Do they know?" She asked. Meaning the townsfolk. Doc lowered his brows and harshly answered "It's better they don't!. Your car is fixed. You can leave." Sally frowned. Doc noticed.. Sally sighed and replied to the man.. "Your secrets safe with me Doc.." she walked by. Saddened. She walked to the motel. Doc frowned. He didn't mean to be cross with her. But he didn't want to risk everyone knowin his secret.

Sally was packing her bags. Getting her stuff together. Sipping it all up when Mater walked in the office. "Hey Miss Sally! Flo said maybe we could?.." he stopped noticing the bags... Mater frowned and asked "Wait are you leaving?..". Sally turned toward the older man, "There's not much else to do. I hope the town thrives though..". Mater frowned. He didn't reply. Sally grabbed some bags and started walking across the street to her car. Flo noticed. Most the town did. They were sad that she was leaving.. but no one stayed here anymore. It was expected. Mater followed her. Helping her. Opening the car doors for her. "You know.. I mean.." he stumbled tying to think what to say. Sally hugged the old hick. "Thanks Mater." Mater smiled. Almost hugged the life out of her tightly. He let her go. Sally walked over to Flos. "How about one last drink before I head out?" She sat down. Flo smiled sadly. She got her a drink. Flo leaned over and spoke. "Thanks for everything darlin. You helped the townsfolk so much. I wish you wouldn't leave!?" Sally nodded and answered back "Yeah.. maybe I don't have to?.." she said with a small smile. Flo smiled more and replied "You should stay baby girl!" Doc was inside the diner. He thought about it to. Sally continued. "It's not like I have anywhere to go?.. it'd be a beautiful place to call home!" Doc was listening. Sally continued. "And I would love to see this place like it was Hey day! I really think we can get it back there." Doc smiled. Sally was a dreamer.

Sally glanced over her shoulder at Doc.. what if he didn't want her to stay though.. his secret. Sally for up and sat across from the old racer..

"Hey." Sally greeted. Doc stared. Sally continued "I meant it.. your.. I won't tell a soul." She smiled warmly. Doc smiled to. He took a deep breath and asked the lovely young woman "You wanna stay?" Sally thought about it before answering "I don't wanna leave?..". Doc chuckled a bit and replied "I like you kid. But this town doesn't have anything to give you." Sally thought about that to. She answered "It's already given me so much. But.. you're right I guess." She frowned. Doc thought about things. Sally got up and went to her car. She sat down in it. She hesitated. She have a look at the town. She stared up her porsche. She didn't know where she'd go. So first. She took a slow nice drive. Up tailfin pass. She went up to wheel well. She parked and sat on the good of her car. Looking out at the view. It was beautiful. She stayed there a few hours. Looking down at the cars driving on the highway. Passing right by all the amazing wonders of this town. She couldn't believe it! She heard a vehicle pulling up. It was Doc. He pulled up and got out. He walked over to Sally. Stood beside her and her car. It was quiet. They both looked at he highway. The town. "Thought you'd be gone by now?" Doc spoke. Sally took a deep breath and answered "I don't think I will. Look at this place Doc? The roads?.. the people?.. the way everyone knows everyone and cares for each other. My life hasn't been like that. This place...It just feels like.. like..". "Home." Doc finished. Sally smiled. Doc stared out. Then gave an idea. "Mater mentioned you use to be an attorney?" Sally answered "Yup." Doc nodded and continued. "We could use one. The town. I'm the judge here. I could use the help." Sally gave an odd stare and replied. "Are you offering me a job?" Doc chuckled a little and answered. "I'll see you first thing two days. At the court house Sally. By the way. If you want it. The motel is yours. No one else here has the skills and organization you have." Doc walked away. Sally smiled. She took a good deep breath. Home. She found a home.

In a few weeks Sally would finally get all the supplies to start remodeling the motel. It would be nice. She done good. And every so often there were lost vacationers passing through. Sally had hope though. One day the town would get back on the map.

A few months went by. It was late. She was asleep. Half asleep. When suddenly she heard the rousing sound of an engine. Then crashing and sqealing tires. Yelling and screaming! Ramone yelled "Hey you scratched my paint!" She peaked out her window and nothing but a red blur pulling Stanley statue swung by. It scared her a bit as she jumped back losing her step into the floor and hitting her head against her desk and she it went dark.
