"So what do you want to do", Melody asked holding out a spoon full of chocolate ice cream. Saige opened her mouth and took a bite. They laughed as a little drizzle of brown appeared out of the side of her lips.
"Relax until night", Saige shrugged. "It's up to you".
They glanced over to the booth across where three girls in school uniforms giggled with each other. One had pink pigtails, another short blue hair and the last regular blond curls. Weird how normal they seemed. It wouldn't last long though. Once night came they would be butt kicking magic girls.
"Maybe take a walk through the park", Melody finished the ice cream and a waitress came by to take their bowls. "We have not done that for a while".
"No parks", she shuddered. Not after Nightvale. Stupid Dog Park. She smiled standing up and taking her moi laska by the hand. "Well figure it out as we go".
As Saige opened the café door the other girl pulled her back into a hug. They turned their backs to the door.
"Nobodies", Melody whispered. People gave them weird looks, even the magic girls. Once Melody thought the creatures were gone she released Saige and they left without another word. She grabbed her bat that leaned against the brick wall. Funny thing is civilian's automatically split around the girls the moment she picked it up, yet no one seemed alarmed. The two walked down the street holding hands. Melody could see Heartless and Nobodies moving in the shadows.
"You see them two right", Melody whispered and tightened her grip on the weapon. Saige nodded staring straight ahead.
"I doubt their stupid enough to actually attack us right now", she turned down a street with a big board walk sign. She looked up just in time to see a cloaked figure disappear into darkness. Hopefully they had not seen the girls.
The sidewalk led to a small carnival, mostly made up of small booths. A few families wandered around carrying big stuffed animals. The booths were colorful shades of red and purples and lined up in neat rows. Death the Kid would be proud.
Melody paid five dollars for them to get in. Couples discount.
Saige hugged her stuffed penguin in glee. It took Melody a few tries but she finally hit all the bowling pins. Well that and she showed the game master her bloody bat.
"I'll go get us and Big Chill some popcorn to eat", Saige smiled dashing off in a different direction. Melody sighed sitting down on a wooden bench. The sun was already going down. That day had been nice, almost like a normal day for them.
"What do you desire most", a voice squeaked.
She looked down at a white cat with very...and she repeats very long ears. "Aw aren't you adorable".
"I can give you a wish", the cat said. "All you have to do is agree to become a magic girl".
"As in a girl with magical powers", Melody shrieked.
The cat did not speak or change expression for about two long minutes. Melody imagined it mentally face palming. Heck even she felt like banging her head against a tree for that stupid comment. "Yes and you will have to fight witches".
"Sounds fair enough", the tall girl thought for a moment then grinned." I want to be a mermaid, but only in the water."
"Are you sure" she nodded rapidly. Its ears shot up and reached into her chest. Melody screamed. It felt like she was being ripped in two, yet it only lasted a moment. An aqua blue orb floated down into her hands and then morphed into a ring with sea shell engravings. "You are now a magic girl". A group of people walked in front of the cat. When they passed, it was no longer there.
"Hey Melody", Saige set a bucket of popcorn in between them. She leaned forward and examined the ring. "Pretty".
"I know right it almost feels magical", Melody giggled. She would tell them all later how her dream finally came true.
"Give me the god dam scissors", Faeryn shrieked yanking on the chain. Who chains a perfectly good pair of scissors to a table? What if you needed them to stab someone? Preferably the evil witch just out of reach and her fabulous gangster cat.
"You don't need the scissors", the witched sighed. The stupid girl had been at it for hours. Precious hours that could've been use to get out of the house.
"No I'm getting them in case you decide to go all evil and take my body", the duck fell on her back and the witch peered down at her frowning. "So should I call you Viola or Ellen"?
"Ellen's fine", she walked to the doorway back to the houses entrance or… where the entrance used to be. "I'm going to go get the teddy bear. Don't break anything while I'm gone. You'll probably die from it".
"Dude I'm not making you stay with me", she sat up and reached for the scissors again. Too far, she fell over again. "Too much work".
"You are so weird", Ellen left the room for a moment and came back with a teddy bear. Faeryn snatched it from her and skipped away much to the blond witches annoyance.
"No touch the teddy bear", ducky screamed as the witch chased her. "Bad stuff happens after the teddy bear."
She tripped on the gangster kitty and the teddy bear flew from her hands. Ella brought it to the table and cut the bears limbs off. Blood seeped from the stuffing and poured onto the floor. The lights flickered, but only Faeryn seemed alarmed. The witch picked up the torso and led her from the room to another. As they walked bloody paw prints appeared on the walls.
Ellen placed the torso in a basket and sighed. First step done. Faeryn skipped out of the room only to be stopped by a giant teddy bear. It growled before chasing the girl. It also held HER scissors. Can teddy bears even hold scissors?
"NEEEEEEEEEEEH", Faeryn flapped her arms as she ran past her companion, who was very unamused.
Once she reached a grandfather clock at the end of the hall, the teddy bear disappeared and she spun around nearly running into the blond.
"Are you done messing around", she grabbed Faeryn's hand and dragged her back to the teddy bears murder site. Bloody paw prints covered the wall. The candles flickered out causing Ellen to roll her eyes. "Don't worry about that the house is just being a melodramatic princess." The house responded with slamming the door behind them as they entered the kitchen.
Cockroaches skittered around the tiled floor. At the counter a knife moved up and down cutting up a carrot. Ellen threw a teddy bear arm onto the cutting board.
"Aw thank you dear just what I needed", a voice crackled. Then a rusty key fell onto the floor. Ellen grabbed it and again left Faeryn.
Meanwhile the other snatched the knife. Cockroaches crawled up from the floor boards until it seemed like the floor was moving. They crawled up the girl's legs to the knife until she dropped it screaming. The insects brought the weapon to the cutting board were it resumed slicing up dead bear.
"Thank you sweeties", the voice laughed as the roaches disappeared back were they came from.
"Are you done messing around", Ellen said from the other doorway that led upstairs. She had a feeling she would be saying that sentence a lot.
"Did you not see the gazillion bugs", Faeryn shrieked following her. "They took my knife"!
They went into a hallway containing four doors a knight armor set and a black cat ornament.
"Gotcha", the cat meowed.
"Whoa it talked Ellen", Faeryn clutched on her arm. "Magic."
"I feel like I'm losing brain cells just by your presence", Ellen rubbed her temples and walked into one of the rooms.
"My friends say the same thing"!
"Rae its dark", Ariana whined clutching onto her friend's arm.
"I can see that", Rae growled as they weaved through tall trees. "I have eyes Ariana".
Moment of pause.
"Rae Rae Rae...it's very dark Rae", Ariana giggled.
"SHUT THE FUDGE UP", Rae swung her crowbar causing Ariana to shriek and skip away. The red head chased after her screaming, but sadly running was not a thing Rae's good at. After a few feet she stopped, panting and collapsed on the forest floor. Meanwhile Ariana danced around her fallen body laughing. Why was Rae always put with the idiot.
"Hey...hey Rae guess what", Ariana froze and point to a big rock. "There's a piece of paper on that rock"
Rae scrambled to the rock and stared at the drawing. It said don't look. She spun around and grabbed Ariana by the shoulders. "Now you listen to me Ariana. Under no circumstances are you to move this note. Don't even think about moving the note."
"But now I can't stop thinking about it", the queen flailed her arms and jumped up and down. Sadly her foot did not make contact with the ground. She fell into Rae who toppled backwards against the rock. The note ripped off and fluttered to the ground.
Ariana smiled at Rae who groaned. "God dammit Ariana"
"No no no maybe we can fix it", Ariana unwrinkled the ripped sheet and placed it to the rock. As expected it simply fell down again. "Oh weeeeelll".
"Ariana if slender doesn't kill you I will", Rae growled standing. She could hear drums being struck.
"Wait we're in slender", Ariana gasped. "That's terrible".
Rae turned around and smashed her head multiple times on the rock. Why her? Why was she being punished? Is it for all those times she "accidently" pulled up a jump scare video in front of Melody or maybe for running over Mr. Pirate man? In that case oh mystical fates she was sorry.
"Rae rae rae rae rae rae"
"WHAT", she screamed and spun around to find Ariana staring up at the one...the only...Slenderman
Nothing mattered any more, only the final resting place where all their troubles fade away. Everything would be better. The voices said so. Saige felt the voices would never lie.
That's right, it whispered. No need to run anymore.
"Saige where are you going", Melody shouted.
"A place where we can be happy", Saige laughed as she climbed the fire escape. Only a few more feet till the top. "Come join me Mel. It will be fun".
Yes fun fun fun
"Saige get down from there", Melody screamed as her friend stood on top of the railing. "You'll fall".
"Don't you want me to be happy", the blonde held the stuff penguin out and let him drop to his death. Then she spread her arms out and tipped forward. Falling , falling into the new world. All of them would be together and never separated again.
But she never reached that world.
Saige reached a hand out and felt something cool and wet. She reached around finding herself incased in a bubble. Melody stared at her in an aqua dress and her bat. Her moi laska said something but Saige couldn't hear. Then Melody disappeared into a bright light with three other girls in pretty costumes.
So pretty Saige thought closing her eyes...
"Don't look back", Rae kept whispering to herself. And then there was Ariana who would scream every time she looked back, as Slendy slowly got closer and closer.
"Ariana stop looking", she shouted.
"I can't help it", she squealed taking off in a separate direction.
The idiot...you never split up. Unless its Scooby doo, because that's always how they catch the bad guy. Otherwise in a horror game, no, just no. Of course now Slendy had to choose which one of them to go after. Probably Ariana since, at least in Rae's mind, she was the weakest link. Rae spun around and faced Slendy and looked him were his eyes would have been. He didn't move except for the black tentacles swaying out of his back.
"I got a Russian crowbar slendy", Rae said backing up. She was careful not to get him out of her sight. "Don't think I'm afraid to use it".
"Heeeeeeeeeyyyyyy Raaaaaaeeeeee", Ariana skipped around the frozen slender man with a bundle of pages in her arms. "I've been looking for you".
"You're the one that ran off", Rae had to keep reminding herself not to risk looking away by strangling her friend
"Oh ya...well", Ariana clapped jumping up and down. "I found five pages"!
"There is no fudging way", her jaw hit the ground. "You were gone for like five minutes. That's a page per minute Ariana. They have to be fakes".
"Nope", she spread them out in front of the frozen girl. Rae stood on her tip toes to look over them. "A ghost led me to them"!
"Of course", the red head sighed. "Now go find the other ones".
"Why"
"What do you mean why", her temper rose. "We're in fudging slender Ariana that's why"
"I'm bored", Ariana moaned. Rae grabbed her by the shoulders and spun her around to face the creepy pasta. "But staring at him is boooooring two".
"Deal with it", Rae turned away and faced a brick building. How convenient... "Now you listen to me Ariana. You are to under no circumstances look away. You will not move from this spot. You will not think about moving from this spot. You will not run skip walk crawl roll or teleport from this spot."
"What about fly", she giggled.
"Shut up I'm not done", Rae snapped. "You will not dig fly, spin or make any movement from this spot. You will not move a single inch. You will not fudging sit or even lift either you left or your right leg slash foot. Just stare at slender until I get back. Understand?"
"Yeppers", Ariana sang.
"I mean it Ariana", Rae face palmed. "Do you actually understand or the moment I walk away will you forget what you're doing. Because slendy will eat you Ariana and me if you look away. And if I die I will kill you in the afterlife".
"Of course silly", Ariana giggled.
"I trust you with my life", as much as she was probably going to regret it.
"Give me the book"
"No I want to read it", Faeryn ducked behind a bookcase as Ellen chased her. She was lucky enough to snatch the book from the servant before the blonde could. Only it probably was not earning her friend points which means a higher probability that the witch will kill her.
"It's called the book of death", Ellen face palmed. "It's going to kill you"
"Never judge a book by its cover", the duck giggled.
"Faeryn you are unbelievable", irritated the blond stormed from the library and across the hall.
Maybe she was being immature. Maybe Ellen was only trying to help Faeryn in her own way. Then they could have been best friends. But Faeryn probably ruined it by being to childish. Maybe she should try act her age.
Pffft like that would ever happen!
Anyways Faeryn went up to the girl and offered up the book. Ellen's frown ceased as she placed it on a book shelf. Something in the room broke and then the sound of something being pushed echoed off the walls. Like a statue...
A skeleton rounded the corner and chased the girls. They circled the bookcase and left the room. Luckily the skeleton disappeared...
"You can't pause for a moment", Mami said firing away at little mustache fluff balls. It exploded. "Or you're dead".
"What ...are these things", Melody gasped swinging her bat. The creatures seemed to multiply by the second. Kind of like the Magical Girl version of heartless, only creepier.
"Practically the minions of the witch", the blue haired girl shouted slicing one in half.
This world was so happy at first. With magic and becoming a mermaid, everything seemed perfect. But that stupid cat never told her that the witches there did not ride of broomsticks and wear pointy hats. Or that they used to be magic girls.
They reached the center of the labyrinth. A giant green glob monster moved around. It laughed staring them down with beady red eyes. Melody jumped in shocked. It was so disgusting.
The other girls were not affected. They rushed into battle. Melody took a deep breath before charging forward with her bat...
Once the witch was defeated Mami gave a silver orb to Melody. Then the other magic girls left to go find more witches before the sun began to rise. Melody tucked the orb into her pocket for later and sat next to Saige. Saige laid unconscious with her stuffed penguin in her arms.
Melody stretched her back and leaned against the brick wall. She pulled out her phone and went through her contacts. She stopped on Rae's number and dialed. There was a high pitched scream before the line went dead. The girl sighed instead going through her 749 pictures of Destiel. At least their phones still worked in different dimensions...somehow. What logic is that anyway? Melody was sure Sprint could not build a tower in every dimension.
"Saige", Melody shouted shaking the girl. No response, she would just have to keep watch.
Suddenly the shadows began to take shape. They formed little creatures that swayed back and forth. Melody shot up and swung her bat. It hit one of the creatures and it exploded into darkness. Not to hard
Melody spoke to soon. For every one she killed three more took its place. She stood with her back right up against the wall. Melody surrounded herself and Saige in a bubble. They floated over the army of heartless and above the city.
"Melody", Saige yawned looking around. She screamed grabbing onto her friends leg. "Why are we in a bubble"?
"Um one of the magic girls put us in here to get us away from a witch", Melody said.
"Really", she looked skeptical. "I didn't think any of them had this power".
Melody did not answer; she was to busy watching a ray of fire get closer and closer to their bubble. Suddenly they were falling from hundreds of feet from the ground. Melody looked up at the sky. She began naming all the constellations as she waited for the big splat. Big dipper, little dipper and Horus. All patiently waiting for her soul to join then. Maybe she'll be reincarnated into a fish. At least a fish is close to a mermaid.
Then she felt arms wrap around her waist. The world turned upside as she swung up. Melody turned her head to the side to see Mami holding onto a giant ribbon. The blue haired girl had Saige. The cloaked figure jumped from building to building trying to catch up to them while summoning fire balls. Mami fired a rifle at him, but sadly it did no damage.
"Sayaki", Mami called. "Meet up at the school if we get separated."
The blue girl nodded jumping off the building with a screaming Saige and took off. Another cloaked figure dashed after them.
Faeryn laid on her stomach and stared at a frog. It jumped up and down in a pool of water while make heart emotion above its head. Somehow that's possible, yet not surprising at all. Frogs have to communicate somehow.
"Its sooo kawaii", Faeryn rolled onto her back and the frog jumped onto her head and looked down. Most frogs wouldn't be able to do that, unless of course their Senor Frog!
"It's a frog", Ellen sighed. Though she did not have her usual frown the girl still had a long way to go to be a happy epic person. Good thing she had the Duck to teach her!
"Dude Senor Frog has feelings", she gasped standing up. The frog remained on her head. They went into the dreaded puzzle room. The room that Faeryn never managed to get through without the help of YouTube. It's like one of those stupid find the differences photos in the back of magazines.
"You're not going to be much help are you", Ellen frowned. She inspected every corner of the room while Faeryn sat in a Mr. Chair playing with Senor Frog. She attempted to tech him to dance but sadly only cartoon frogs can stand on two feet.
*hours later*
"Okay leave the frog on the chair and I'll rip the note down", Faeryn for once did as she was told. There was an unlocking sound. Faeryn snatched up the frog and left the room before Ellen. She froze in front of a steel door with a tiny window. When the witch came around the corner she posed and hid the frog in her pocket.
"What are you doing", the blond asked trying to peek around the girl. Faeryn moved to block her view. "I can clearly see the door behind you".
"I will not let you murder senior frog".
She was confused for a moment before she smiled. Actually physically smiled. Ellen left the room coming back with a bucket full of cockroaches. She dumped it through the window and they listened as something made a crunching noise. "There now you can keep the stupid frog".
"Yay", Faeryn glomped her companion. For once she wasn't pushed away. Faeryn elbowed her in the side. "Aw are you warming up to me"
Ellen rolled her eyes and pushed the girl away. Moment ruined. "Just to let you know the moment you're no longer useful..."
"You mean entertaining", she laughed. Think that would ever happen.
"Whatever", Ellen frowned. "I'm going to x you".
"And then I will haunt you for eternity", Faeryn skipped a head. "And expect the same from me once we reach the end".
As they proceeded through the house the group came across a wall. Not just any ordinary wall but one with sets of eyes and a mouth to go with each. Ellen went right in between an open and closed eye. A passage way appeared.
"Oh Fuck no", Faeryn sat on the floor and pouted.
"It's perfectly safe", Ellen stepped inside and poked her head out. She did not see the eyes roll down. "See"
"I see how you're going to kill me", she stuck her tongue out. "Did your mom never tell ya going in other people mouths is rude"?
"No she's dead", Ellen mumbled. She disappeared inside and shouted over her shoulder to the duck. "I'm going to leave you". She counted to three and right on cue you know who scrambled like an Italian.
"Well this sucks", Sayaka laughed next to Saige. The organization member trapped the girls in a corner right outside a school. Saige only wished Melody was there.
"Give up the girl...or", the man looked down at a note card. He scratched his head. "Um...gosh I can't read Axel's hand writing. Or we'll take over...your..."
"World", Saige offered.
"Yeah that's it thanks", he laughed. The blue haired girl gave Saige a look like is this guy for real. Saige simply smiled at her favorite organization member. "Now prepare to die". He strummed his sitar, but instead of hitting the girls the water shot out of the wall. It hit Demyx in the side and he went down.
"Bad water stop it", he gasped covering his face. Then a chain wrapped around his foot and flipped the poor guy upside down. A girl with long red hair stepped out of the shadows eating an apple.
Sayaka moved in front of Saige and summoned a sword. "What are you doing here Kyoko"?
"You should be thanking me", she snickered tossing the other magic girl an apple. Sayaka threw it back and her eyes narrowed. The chain twisted tighter around Demyx and spun around. It flung him over the school then launched its self at the blue haired girl. She blocked it with her sword but the other end weaved unnoticed behind her. It wrapped itself around the two girls squeezing the life out of them.
"As payment you should leave the city", Kyoko grinned. "Permanently".
"I'd advise you put them down", a voice called. Mami jabbed a rifle in the red heads back. Melody stood behind her.
Kyoko seemed to debate her options before calling back her weapon. Saige rushed to her love and they hugged.
"Next time we won't be able to end peacefully", Mami smiled dropping her gun. "I won't tolerate any harm to my friends".
Kyoko stared at her for a moment before mumbling whatever. She pushed past the girls and disappeared around the corner.
"Do you two have anywhere to stay for the night", Mami asked. She looked up at the sky. "Or what remains of it." They shook their heads. The blonde magic girl clasped her hands together. "Then you can stay with me. It will be fun".
"I'd join but my parents will probably be looking for me", Sayaka said looking up at the rising sun.
The group separated and the two girls followed Mami back to her apartment. She served them tea and cheese cake then made up two beds on the floor.
They stayed up watching some horror movie before going to bed. Saige curled up next to Melody. Mami had already fallen asleep on the couch.
Saige missed this. Staying up with friends and drinking tea. Maybe if their lucky the next world will be home...
"She thinks she's so much better than us", a yellow flower sipped its tea. "Yellow is way more elegant then white". The other flowers sitting around the table agreed.
"I feel like I'm in high school again", Faeryn whispered to Ellen who laughed as the duck mimicked the flowers ever word and gestures.
"Why don't we get rid of her for good", another piped up. This started a wave of crackles from the group. It was sent to a vote. The result is that the white flower would be executed.
"But we can't simply dirty our petals", they all sighed.
"Oh maybe the red flowers will", one flower poured the girls more tea which Faeryn pretended to sip. She did not trust anything in that home.
"No they would only argue about the murder method".
"I don't see why oak likes her best", this started a whole new argument. Meanwhile Faeryn slammed her face into the wooden surface.
"OKAY IF IT GETS YOU TO SHUT UP I WILL GO KILL OR X OR WHAT EVER YOU WANT TO CALL IT THE WHITE FLOWER", she stood up grabbing Ellen by the hand. The flowers cheered as they marched out of the room and into the garden. Sebastian the cat sat on a bench licking his fur near a pretty white flower under the oak tree.
"Good day", the white flower sang.
"Douche bag flowers", she mumbled digging at it's root. The flower repeatedly asked what she was doing but the girl was intent on her task. It released a deafening scream as the roots were ripped apart. The flower wilted into nothing and the tree screamed murder.
Faeryn stomped back to the horrible yellow flowers and tossed the dead body on the table.
"Oh did you hear that glorious scream", they laughed.
"Now we are the most beautiful of the garden".
"Just give us the powder", Ella sighed. The flowers gathered up their pollen in a small vile and the witch quickly snatched it up. "Hey Faeryn go to that dresser and in the top drawer there's a lighter. Got it? Good, what do you say we get rid of some weeds"?
Faeryn flicked it on and watched the flame waver. She grinned skipping around the yellow flowers. Each became a blazing inferno and screamed like a dying rabbit. Faeryn imagined them as some very special people in her school.
The flowers turned to dust. The lights went out except for the lighters flame. They left the room into a red garden. The oak was slowly dying and the grass was stained red.
"This would make Saige so sad", Faeryn laughed imagining the girl going into one of her flower abuse rants.
"Stay here I'm going to go ahead", Ellen said slipping on a pair of clear shoes.
"Whatever dude", she set to work burning each individual blade of bloody grass.
Which took forever. Faeryn eventually got bored and found a knife in one of the dark rooms. Senior frog slept on top of her head and now she laid in the middle of the burning garden waiting for her witch to come back.
After minutes of thinking, Faeryn decided it would be in everyone's interest to kill Ellen, well except for Ellen's interest. But murder victims don't always get a say in the matter, or like ever.
"How am I not surprised", Ellen glanced around the burning garden. She held a purple doll in her hands. The girl stepped around Faeryn. When the other did not follow Ellen turned her head back and smiled. "Are you coming? This is the last thing before we can leave".
"Yep dude chill", her grip tightened on the knife's handle. The last chance for her to get the upper hand. God but could she really do it, even if this may not be real. Yes she must...for Senior Frog.
Faeryn stood up and skipped up behind the witch. She turned the girl around and stabbed her in the chest. Ellen's eyes went wide and she reached to yank the knife from her chest, but Faeryn only dug it further in.
"I didn't think you would..", the blond gargled as she fell back.
Faeryn picked up the doll and sighed. What a very unfun thing to do...
