It was Danielle's first day at the new school. She was scared of what she would not met anyone. She wasn't always the greatest at making friends. She just didn't open up like everyone else seemed to do. Her Aunt Liz had told her that if she was anything like this family than she would have no problem at all making friends. It wasn't like she didn't have friends, she did. It was the fact that she didn't want to move out of her home to begin with. It was bad enough having to move but her mom and had put the house up on the market too. She didn't feel safe anymore, nothing seemed to be real. She was glad that she got to know her aunts and uncles before school. She did have a little more confidence than when they first moved into Derek's home a week ago. They all told her stories about their time at high school and what they did to over come some of the things they did. She just wished that it wasn't the start of the week. By the week starting it meant that everyone had to go back to their homes. Aunt Liz and Uncle Edwin went back to their apartments last night to get ready for the work week. Aunt Marty left to go back to campus to finish up her last semester. She never felt more alone than after they left. Adam didn't feel like he wanted her around much less going to her school. She didn't know what she did to upset him but she wished she could make it less awkward between the two on them. Her mom had dropped her off at her grandparents house for them to bring her and Adam to school together. It wasn't like Adam was going to show her around. He wanted her to act like he didn't know who she was. She said she would try but couldn't promise anything. It didn't take long to get to the school at all. Her mom had gone on Friday and set everything up. She had her schedule and locker all she needed to do was show up today. Danielle always felt bad for the new kids at school and now she was the new kid at school. It would be a long day of everyone asking her questions and wondering all about her.

"Well this is where I leave you two."

"Thanks George."

"Thanks Dad, see you this afternoon."

They both got out of the car and headed up the stairs to the school. George said he would pick they up in the same spot when school was done. Now she just needed to navigate through classes and she would be fine. She did have her phone to text her friends back home to see how they were doing and to tell them how horrible it was here. Adam did hold the door open for her as they headed inside. Now she just needed to find where her locker was. She didn't think it was going to be that bad until she made it inside and saw how big this school was. She would never be able to find where she needed to go. She smiled to Adam and started to head off to where she might start looking.

"Do you need help?"

"Yes I'm completely lost. My school wasn't thing big."

"Fine I will help you but this is where my friendliest goes."

"That is fine with me."

Adam looked at her schedule. They did seem to have a of the same classes. He might as well accept the fact that she was in his life now. It wasn't like it was her fault. It was really Derek and Casey's fault. They should have never been together to begin with. He got that they couldn't help how they felt but there is a certain point they could have stopped. He did feel bad for Danny she didn't seem to have a say in any of this. They just did what they thought would make they happy not what would be better in the long run. Yes he did have the best high school ever but that didn't mean it was the best for Danny. She was happy in her old school he would have kept her there. She continued to follow him through the school to where her locker would be. She did have a nice locker location. It was located in the middle for her to be able to get to everything in a timely fashion.

"Here we are. This is your locker."

"Thank you. I know you don't want to do this."

"I just know how this family can be. I don't mean to take it out on you but everything got flipped upside down in the matter of a few days. I know your world was more flipped than anyone else. I just don't deal with it as well as you do."

"Yea I tend to just wait until I am alone before I let it all out."

"I wish I could do that but I don't I always show how I am feeling on my face."

It was starting to make some sense to Danny why Adam had been mean to her. It wasn't because of her but because of everything that was going on. He just didn't know how to deal with any of it that he took it out on everyone including her. She did feel bad it was kind of her fault. She always wished she knew who her dad was and now she found out but it always changed everyone's life along with it. She didn't think that they ever learned to take things easy. Instead they changed everything all at once and now she was the one getting a lot of the wrath for the decision her parents made. She saw that Adam was still waiting for her, she figured he was going to show her where her first class was. She didn't want to be late for anything and she hoped he got that too and that was why we was waiting. While she set up her locker she noticed some guys were headed this way. Adam seemed to relax a little as they approached.

"Hey Adam what are you doing?"

"Nothing much just helping my friend around here."

"Well it's nice to meet you my name is Nick and this is Ryan."

"Nice to meet you I'm Danielle but everyone seems to call me Danny."

She thought Adam's friends were nice. Nick seemed to be looking at her for a little while longer than someone normally does. She smiled and went to put everything in her locker. She figured it was getting close for class to start. She still needed to figure out how to get to class. She closed her locker and turned around to face the boys. It seemed like they were all looking at her.

"Well I should be heading to my first class."

"Don't worry Danny I am going to show you the way. We have a lot of the same classes together and the ones we don't I will drop you off at so you don't get lost."

"Thanks, you don't have to do that if you don't want. I am sure I can find my way around."

"No I feel bad about being rude the last few days it is the least I can do to make it up."

She followed Adam to her first class. I guess people can have a change of heart. She made her way through the crowd and got to her first class. Adam sat in the back, she wasn't one to sit in the back but she didn't sit in the front row either. She was more of sitting in the middle kind of person. The day didn't seem to drag like she thought between Adam and his friends helping her out the day went a smooth as she could hope for it to go. Before she knew it the day was done and they were at the lockers packing up to go home. She could start to enjoy this school but she still missed her school with all her friends. She knew that place inside and out and knew how to find secret spots to be alone with her friends. This place she was out in the open for everyone to see. They grabbed their bags and headed out of the school. George was where he said he would be. They climbed in the car and headed back to her grandparents home. She was just glad to have this day over.
