Little Light Girl

"Murderer…"The old man rasped with his last breathes, glaring into the cold dark eyes of his killer with rage who watched emotionlessly. Black eyes were void of any emotion as they watched the elder's eye's dim with death, his hand was covered in crimson liquid as well as the rusty piece of metal imbedded into the corpse's stomach. Leaving the weapon in the corpse, he turned to face his mentor with a scowl and ignored the commanding love-sick rat beside his mentor. He didn't understand why his mentor needed that stupid four-eyed freak. The medic nin was a waste of space and air, in his personal opinion.

"We had a deal." The Uchiha's voice was dark, empty and…soulless as he spoke, his eyes narrowed looking for a threat. He managed to ignore the sewer rat easily when it demanded he showed to the 'Lord' before him. Lord his ass, if that snake nin was a lord than he would have gotten the village of the Leaf in his scaly palms already.

"Yes, we did. Return before dawn, I don't want to come looking for you." The sannin stated before disappearing in a cloud of smoke and the lab rat followed. Stupid love-sick fool, Sasuke growled within his gloomy mind and began walking away from the scene looking for a small foundation of water to wash his hands and arms. The blood was beginning to dry on his limbs; it was annoying and disgusting. He, unlike the snake nin, did not enjoy the feeling of blood on his skin when it came to spilling blood, he didn't quite like it either. It was messy and always left trails for others to follow. He scanned his environment; thick forest trees, gloomy shadows, wary animals and the night sky above. There weren't many stars out and the waxed moon provided him with dim yet bright light.

Light?

His soul was dark and empty, only horrors awaited those who caught a mere glimpse of his soul. Ever since the day, his older brother massacred his clan he had been drowning in darkness. The biggest bonfire couldn't provide him with light that would take away the darkness and offer him a better life purpose other than revenge. His family had been his light and now he no longer had that light. He didn't have a gentle mother to kiss and bandage his burns or bruises. He no longer had a hard-to-understand father to impress and seek acknowledgement from. He didn't have an older brother to train with and idolize; yes,his brother was alive but he wasn't the same person. He never really had friends-

A image of a little girl with wide pale lavender eyes and midnight hair suddenly appeared in his mind. Her eyes were wide with wonder and a delighted smiled curved into her pale face, her cheeks rosy similar to blossoming roses. She was dressed in a plain purple kimono, a white obi keeping it closed and she a small candle between her small palms…who is this girl?

Hinata…

Hyuga Hinata.

She's the small girl he used to play tag and house-house with. The girl, she used to watch koi with and the girl who helped him pull pranks on his older brother. The amazing little cook that had let him help her make the best chocolate chip biscuits and helped him pull up his mother's flower beds to get flowers to give to his grandmother. She's the sensitive little girl who looked up at him for protection and praises. The little girl that used always tripped over her toes and unconsciously expect him to catch her, the girl who looked at him instead of his brother or cousins. The tiny Hyuga who expressed emotion, she would be too naïve and too compassionate for other others and to understand the world around her, so he'd understand it for her and block out all the bad things people said or did.

She's the girl that had hid with him in a dark closest during a rain storm when they were both five years of age and shared a candle with him, shedding some light to them so they wouldn't be surrounded in darkness.

…He didn't feel like he was drowning in darkness anymore.
