Disclaimer: Writer's Block, my old enemy. You have returned to plague me and my loyal subject but YOU SHALL NOT! I SHALL… oh!

Uh, just ignore that last part. Oh, and I'm guilty of playing Pokemon Go quite a bit lately; almost caught Pikachu once. I don't own the rights to either Marvel or DC Comics.

Chapter VII

Superman went crashing into the side of building, leaving a massive indentation in the concrete and sending debris falling around him. Dropping to the ground, Superman recovered to see the strange green behemoth still tearing through the military vehicle and apparently protesting the gunfire that rained around him. He looked around the parameter, seeing that Lois had taken shelter in a department store across the street from him. She was safe for now but that was likely to change. The Hulk was still rampaged through the street, so Superman catapulted straight at him.

Hitting the Hulk straight on, Superman carried the green giant down the street and stopped suddenly. The Hulk traveled further on until he hit a LexCorp tractor-trailer, and the impact quickly reduced the trailer to twisted metal. He shook the dizziness out of his system, and it was quickly replaced with anger as he let out massive roar. By then, Superman quickly closed the distance and at close range, he started pummeling the Hulk with right and left hooks and crosses. He then landed a swift, hard-hitting uppercut that rocked the Hulk even more. Another right hook sent the Hulk rotating in place.

Superman didn't see the back of Hulk's giant hand coming, and he was hit hard and flung into a streetlight. Before Superman could rise up, the Hulk had him by the ankle and slammed him into the asphalt street repeatedly, but Superman used his heat vision on Hulk's hand to break free. The Hulk staggered back holding his hand, while Superman unleashed a more intense blast of his heat vision and forcing the angry giant back further. It worked only for a moment before the Hulk forced his way back toward the Man of Steel.

The Hulk grasped Superman's head, sending multiple heat vision blasts in separate directions. Then the Hulk slammed Superman face-first into the asphalt before flinging him hard across the sky. Superman went slammed into the side of an office building and dropped to the ledge below. Recovering, Superman used his heightened eyesight to catch a glimpse of the Hulk. To his surprise, the Hulk appeared to turning away. Then a few soldiers approached and fired on him, enraging the Hulk and prompting Superman to intervene again.

Batman dodged a varying assault from Iron Man's rapid-fire repulsar blasts, most of which hit the asphalt and any cars Batman hid behind. In retaliation, Batman tossed a series of Baterangs at Iron Man. Like he was shooting skeet out of the air, Iron Man fragged the projectile as they came. He then caught on Baterang in his glove and examined it, finding hardly anything of particular interest besides its design and the blinking red light on the underside. Before Iron Man knew what happened, the Baterang exploded in his face and blinded him temporarily.

Batman made his move, spring boarding off the hood of the car he hid behind and vaulting over Iron Man. He wrapped a line around Iron Man's neck and dropped to the street below, and then he pulled down hard on the line. Iron Man was yanked down and hit the street with enough force to leave a small crater on impact. Batman quickly closed the distance and seemed to palm Iron Man's mask, leaving a glob of gel. The gel exploded and further blinded Iron Man, causing him to shoot blindly at anything within range.

Sensing another opportunity, Batman pulled out a device that appeared similar to a sort of firearm despite his stance against guns. By the time Iron Man recovered and caught sight of Batman, Batman fired the device. A ball of electricity raced toward Iron Man and struck him in the chest right where his arc reactor was situated. He staggered but he didn't go down, and Batman fired another electrical shot at the same target. Iron Man staggered again but still didn't go down.

Jocasta chimed in Iron Man's helmet, "Power increased to two hundred percent capacity, sir."

Iron Man muttered, "I'll be damned."

Iron Man quickly took full advantage of his power boost and unleashed a duel repulsar blast that struck the ground just in front of Batman. The momentum sent the Dark Knight to the ground but he was able to recover in time to avoid the next blast. He used his grapple gun to do so, which quickly lifted him to the side of a building. Iron Man fired another blast and Batman grappled away to another building. Another blast came but this time, Iron Man anticipated Batman's next move and shot is his grapple line. Batman dropped ant fell onto the roof of a car with the momentum carrying him to the side facing away from Iron Man. Iron Man took flight to stalk Batman.

"Not bad. I know a kid who can stick to walls." Iron Man said.

Rather than respond to Iron Man, Batman tapped a switch on his gauntlet. "Batman to Watchtower; I could use some help down here."

Back on the Watchtower, Cyborg replied to Batman, "I got breaches opening in multiple areas around Gotham and Metropolis, Batman. One's near your location and Wonder Woman and Flash are on the way."

"Hey, we've got another one opening outside the tower." Green Lantern said while pointing toward the viewport.

A new portal was opening outside of the Watchtower and a figured was flung out into space. It was Captain Marvel, and she was flailed and tumbled over herself in the weightlessness of her surroundings. She approached the Watchtower with little to no control over her motion and slammed into the viewport, starting Cyborg and Raven. As she recovered, she caught sight of the young heroes and they stared dumbfounded at her. She waved at them in response before bounding off the window and flying toward the Earth.

Before Captain Marvel could go any further, a wall of green light blocked her path. Green Lantern confronted her at that moment and expanded the wall so it circled around her. Captain Marvel watched the wall extend around her while Green Lantern came closer to her. Without hesitation, Captain Marvel cut loos with a concentrated energy blast aimed straight at Green Lantern.

The blast hit the wall and Green Lantern appeared to actually feel the hit, which forced him to focus on maintaining the wall. Captain Marvel wasn't about to relent and fired off more blasts, eventually shattering the wall and sending Green Lantern back. Lantern recovered and willed a warhead into existence. He sent it forward and Captain Marvel, unsure of what to make of it, took the construct full force. She was sent flying but managed to catch herself while Green Lantern approached. He willed a fighter jet into existence and sent it flying toward Captain Marvel, who managed to avoid it as it came. A missile came next and Captain Marvel fired a blast at it.

The construct shattered to pieces of green light, and then Captain Marvel fired more of her energy blasts. Green Lantern created a medieval shield to block the blast, but he wasn't ready for Captain Marvel to fly straight into him. They tumbled over each other in zero gravity with neither one gaining the upper hand. They tried blasting each other but their attacks canceling each other out. Captain Marvel fired another energy blast and Green Lantern deflected it with raw willpower.

"You got skills, lady. What's your name?" Lantern asked.

"Carol Danvers? You?"

"Huh, my girlfriend's name was Carol; small world. I'm Hal Jordan."

"Well, it's nice to meet you, Hal. But I've got to go. Duty calls." Captain Marvel stated and tried to fly away.

Green Lantern stopped her with another wall. "I can't let you go until you answer some questions, like how you got here and there's anyone else like you."

Captain Marvel blasted Green Lantern away before replying, "Sorry, but I'm not in mood to be interrogated."

"And I'm not giving you a choice." Green Lantern claimed and created an excavator claw.

The second that Green Lantern sent the claw toward her, Captain Marvel fired off a stream of rapid-fire energy blasts at the construct. The blasts evaporated on impact but they were also doing the damage needed. The claw construct eventually shattered and Captain Marvel found an opening to fire more shots at Green Lantern, who deflected the shots with a shield once again. He created a sword, and Captain Marvel's eyes widened in disbelief. That was cheating as far as she was concerned.

It didn't appear that Green Lantern cared when he took a swing of the green construct. Captain Marvel dodged the incoming swipe of the sword, dodged a second swing and then a third and finally avoided a straight thrust. She landed on the construct, which was solid enough for her to stand on it. Then she ran the length of the construct while firing more energy blasts at Green Lantern, who brought up the shield construct to deflect the shots. That didn't stop Captain Marvel from bounding over the shield and behind Green Lantern.

Once she was up high, using the lack of gravity in space to her advantage, Captain Marvel threw herself back toward Green Lantern before he could react. They collided and tumbled over each other in the weightlessness of space before both attempted to blast the other at the same time. Their canceled each other out and sent them spiraling in opposite direction. Once again, they were at a stand still.

Green Lantern whispered to himself, "Eat your heart out, Kilawogg!"

At the same time, Captain Marvel whispered to herself, "Kamala, have I got a story for you."

Soon after regrouping, they charged each other again… with a smile on their faces.

After ditching Bruce Wayne's car in an alley, Natasha carefully roamed along the sidewalks of a neon-lit part of Gotham. The area wasn't that much different from Time Square, aside from the numerous nightclubs that lined the corners. Having covertly snatched up a dark brown trench coat, Natasha walked along the sidewalk and stayed very careful not to draw too much attention. Then again, the crowds of people around her weren't directly at her. Natasha saw why; through the big screen that was like a focal point of the street, she saw images of the same portals that brought her here to this universe and that led to her encounter with the Batman. Then she saw the footage from Metropolis of the Hulk battling a man in a red cape and blue suit, catching a very brief glimpse of an S symbol on his chest.

Finding a side street nearby, Natasha hustled to it while keeping a reasonable composer about her walk. Slipping into the street, she picked the pace and made it to the other side where there were no other people to see her. Without warning, a portal opened in her part and she had to halt in place to avoid walking through. Natasha brought her hands up and was ready to launch her stingers at whoever or whatever was about to come through the portal. Her defenses dropped once she saw that it was Captain America coming through.

"Steve." She greeted with relief.

"Natasha," Steve replied back and approached her. "You alright?"

"I am now that you're here. Where's the rest of the team?" Natasha asked.

Steve looked around his surrounding, eyes squinting at neon lights. "Reed Richards warned that we might get separated once we went through that portal."

"Tell me about it. I haven't been able to find Thor or Doom since I arrived. But I did find Hulk. He's in another city fighting some guy in a red cape. And, I ran into another billionaire who dresses like a bat." Natasha explained her recent exploits.

Steve perked his eyebrow in surprise and claimed, "Sounds like a typical day with Tony at Avengers Tower. Okay, we need to find our people and figure out how to get back home. But not before we find Thor and Doom."

"You always did know how make something sound easy." Natasha said and began to follow Steve.

Without warning, something impossible appeared and circled around the two Avengers. It appeared to be lightning-fast red streak but Captain America was sure that he caught a glimpse of a man in a red suit. He and Black Widow instinctively went back-to-back to cover each other from the red streak. The streak was too fast for either of them to follow or identify. Then just as quickly as the streak was moving, it halted right in front of Captain America and Black Widow and revealing what they already determined was a man in a red suit and a gold and white lightning emblem on his chest.

"Hey there! I'm the Flash. Gotta say, I'm really digging the red, white and blue motif. And that Frisbee thingy looks really cool."

Cap and Widow both exchanged confused glances before Cap said, "I'm sorry. Who are you, again?"

"Uh, wait… you've never heard of me. The Flash? The Fastest Man Alive?" Flash explained.

"Doesn't ring a bell." Widow claimed.

"What about Superman," Flash asked, getting a collective headshake from Cap and Widow. "Wonder Woman? Green Lantern? Aquaman?"

Cap and Widow shook their heads at each name. "Nope." Cap said.

Then Widow said, "I've met Batman."

"You have? He's a total dick, right?" The Flash said.

"Okay, this has been fascinating but we're on a mission to find our allies. So step aside, please." Captain America requested.

"Ha, uh yeah, no can do, chief." Flash claimed.

"I wasn't going to ask, son." Cap stated.

"Neither were we," a new voice proclaimed before Wonder Woman dropped from above. "If you two are anything like the ones we encountered before, then you'd both be wise not to instigate a conflict."

Captain America replied, "Miss, we have no quarrel with you. We're just trying to recover a missing ally and once that's done, we'll leave."

"You'd be better off leaving now. We've encountered your so-called ally and he wasn't exacting willing to cooperate with us. Now I'll say it again; return from wherever you came from before this gets out of hand." Wonder Woman said.

After a moment of enduring a standoff, Black Widow said to Captain America, "Sorry about this, Cap." Then he she pulled her sidearm and opened fire on Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman immediately brought up her wrist bracelets to deflect the gunshots as they came, sending jolts of light off and lighting the alley. When Black Widow stopped to reload the gun, Wonder Woman used her Lasso to snag Widow's arm. She pulled hard, taking Widow along for the ride and sending her to the ground hard. Widow quickly recovered and pulled back on the Lasso, but Wonder Woman was the stronger of the two. She held the rope taut and kept Widow down. But Widow was creative, using her stingers to jolt the rope and forcing Wonder Woman to release it.

Black Widow used the opening to rush forward and started assaulting Wonder Woman with a series of martial arts strikes. Wonder Woman managed to block several strikes but Black Widow continued a relentless assault against her. She threw a few punches to the face of Wonder Woman, but the Amazon appeared to be nearly unfazed by the strikes. Wonder Woman leered at Black Widow and smirked, while Black Widow appeared surprised. Then Woman Wonder threw a wide swing that Black Widow duck below. Black Widow struck Wonder Woman's midsection but barely came close to fazing her. Then she grabbed her head and drove her knee into the jaw several times in a row.

Still, Wonder Woman was unfazed and still smirking, while catching a side kick from Black Widow. The seemingly nonchalant demeanor of Wonder Woman, who threw Widow's leg down and grasped the collar of her bodysuit, surprised Black Widow. Then Widow was lifted off the ground, face to face with Wonder Woman.

"Okay, I got the message. You're a very strong woman." Black Widow barely managed to quip.

"I'm a 1000 year old demigoddess who's battled gods, monsters and aliens. You're just a normal human woman. What hope could you have against me?" Wonder Woman asked.

"Improvisation." Black Widow said before revealing a wire from her wrist gauntlet.

Black Widow wrapped the line around Wonder Woman's wrist before placing the soles of her boots to Wonder Woman's chest. She kicked herself away and landed across from Wonder Woman, the wire still attached to the wrist, and pulled down hard. Wonder Woman dropped to a knee and Black Widow rushed forward. She cracked Wonder Woman in the jaw and actually sent her staggering back. Wonder Woman stood upright and held her jaw, and she was still smiling at Black Widow as she took a defensive stance.

"Just so we're on the page, I'm a former KGB assassin and Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D, who's also battled gods, monsters and aliens… and a Hulk." Black Widow stated with a wry grin. Wonder Woman returned the gesture and stormed straight for Black Widow.

Meanwhile, Captain America had his hands full in trying to fight off the Flash. The Flash stopped briefly to wave in Captain America face before bolting away from a punch. He started running all around Captain America, landing lightning fast shots to Cap's face and body. Captain America tried to strike back, attempting to hit the Flash with his shield. But the Flash was too fast, even running around Captain America in a circle to confuse him. Undeterred, Captain America tossed his shield. It missed its mark as the Flash zipped passed it, bounded off the nearby brick wall. Captain America caught his shield but it gave the Flash an opening to punch hard enough to knock him down.

The Flash stopped and said, "What kind of metal is that shield made out of?"

"Vibranium." Cap replied.

"Cool; never heard of vibranium, but cool." The Flash said and then sped away from Cap's counter attack.

Captain America was blasted with more strikes and virtually unable to strike back. The Flash, from his perspective, simply ran up to Captain America and landed a punch to his jaw, zooming away and coming back and landing another punch to the stomach. He landed another punch to the side of Cap's head. Every blow rattled Cap and he couldn't come close to fighting back. But he still had his instinct, so he stopped moving altogether and waited for that elusive opening. The second he felt the Flash coming, Cap outstretched his shield arm and let the Flash run right into it.

The Flash rolled across the ground and into a wall, while Captain America said to him, "You're fast, kid. But I've dealt with speedsters before."

The Flash stood up and took off again before Captain America could react. He ran a circle of lightning around the Avenger but he didn't try to attack. Captain America brought his shield up into a defensive position and waited for the next big strike to land. He just wasn't expecting a bolt of lightning to come straight at him. Although he managed to get his shield up, the lightning bolt struck Captain America hard and flung him into wall. The impact left a large impact point where Cap hit as he dropped to the ground. The Flash rushed forward as Cap stood up, and he ran into a spinning kick that sent him flying backward and falling to the ground. Cap tossed his shield to the left and it rebounded from the wall, striking the Flash in the back before he could react.

Meanwhile, Black Widow and Wonder Woman continued to fight, but it was mostly a one-sided battle. Despite Black Widow landing some solids shots, Wonder Woman merely brushed them off and tossing her around like a ragdoll. Black Widow was thrown to the ground and Wonder Woman tried to pounce on her but she was able to move out of the way. Upon recovery, Black Widow rushed forward and landed more strikes. Wonder Woman blocked most of the strikes and others she took, only to brush them off as more annoying than anything. She bragged hold of Black Widow and threw her backward, where Black Widow fell and slid across the ground.

"Stay down!" Wonder Woman demanded.

Black Widow was on her back but propped herself onto an elbow, blood trickling from his lips. "You're holding back."

"I'm an Amazon. I could break you in half if I wanted to. Don't make me." Wonder Woman said.

Black Widow merely smiled and pulled her sidearm out. She fired off a few shots and Wonder Woman deflected them with her bracers. Wonder Woman lowered her bracer and stared menacingly at Black Widow before storming straight for her. Black Widow flipped backward and onto her feet and threw a straight punch that Wonder Woman caught in one hand. They traded stares and it was at that moment that Black Widow knew… she screwed up.

Wonder Woman twisted Black Widow's arm to the side without breaking it, but Black Widow still felt the agonizing pain that come from the muscles being warped. In desperation, Black Widow wrapped her legs around Wonder Woman's arm and head while planting the sole of her boot into Wonder Woman's jaw. Widow squeezed as hard as humanly possible with the hope that she could wear down the much stronger Wonder Woman, but Wonder Woman simply hoisted Black Widow off the ground and held her high. She tossed Black Widow onto a wall where she hit hard and fell to the ground. Black Widow struggled to move and she could feel pain all through her midsection.

Wonder Woman stalked toward Black Widow with her fist balled up and she said, "I won't say it again; stay down. This is your final warning."

Black Widow struggled to move, only making it to her and hands and knees and spitting up blood. She leered at Wonder Woman and snarled, "I can do this all day."

Wonder Woman shook her head in disbelief and regret but prepared to finish off Black Widow. But out of nowhere, she was struck and knocked to the ground by Captain America's shield. Upon recovering the shield, Captain America regrouped with Black Widow. He helped her to her feet but noticed that she was injured from the beating given to her by Wonder Woman. Black Widow could barely stand and she was holding her midsection, and Captain America was careful not to cause more damage.

The Flash immediately zoomed around them to trap them and force them to go back-to-back again, while Wonder Woman recovered and looked on. Black Widow and Captain America stayed as close to each other as possibly and cover one another against possible ambushes. Wonder Woman recovered her Lasso of Truth and held it tightly in her hands, ready to tie it around either of the two Avengers. Black Widow and Captain America stood ready to fight on, but Captain America was inwardly concerned for his wounded ally. It didn't stop him from chastising her.

"You just had to piss them off, didn't you Natasha." Cap said.

Black Widow said to Captain America, "Yeah! That one's on me."

Cap replied, "Damn right!"

Author's Note: Like I said, Pokemon Go kind of contributed to the lateness of the chapter. Very addictive but crashes a lot. Anyway…

This latest chapter continues the pairing of Avenger/Justice League fisticuffs. This time, I paired off Captain Marvel against Green Lantern which is pretty appropriate considering they're both basically space cops.

Then I paired Captain America and Black Widow against the Flash and Wonder Woman. That leaves Cyborg, Raven, Hawkeye, Vision and Aquaman. Aquaman will make an entrance befitting the King of Atlantis. Stay tuned for more battles and don't forget to reviews.

Now if you'll excuse me, there's a pidgeotto flying outside my window. I gotta go catch it!
