Thank you soo much for hanging there even though I have been a terrible updater. Much Love!

Thirty minutes ago
Lucy gulped loudly. Her mocha eyes were wide. The room was dark causing her pupils to dilate. Levy grabbed her right arm with both her small hands, digging her fingernails into the flesh of it. She didn't mind. It made her feel comforted in an odd way that Levy was finally responsive.
A light flickered to life, casting dim beams to the dust motes spinning around lazily. The room was larger than it had seemed in the dark. There was a sturdy but worn out desk tucked to the left corner of the room. It was littered with sheets of yellowing parchment paper. A large leather-bound book could barely be seen beneath the barrage of paper.
Lucy shifted her attention to the walls. There were three crude built-in shelves on them. The first shelf was neatly packed with jars. The last two had papers on them.
"Ahem," the old man started conspicuously, drawing Lucy's attention from the somewhat messy and haphazard decor of the room.
She snapped to attention, her curiosity gone in a heartbeat.
"I hear that you wish to join Fairy Tail...Is this true children?"
Lucy fought to regain control of her voice.
"W-w, ah y- uhm. What I mean to say, sir, is that we-"
"Don't! We don't want to join," Levy's voice was shrill and scared yet it didn't waver.
Erza spoke up.
"But Natsu said that you did."
Erza cocked an eyebrow; the rest of her sentence was left unsaid yet it latched itself to Lucy's mind...this means that either you're lying, or Natsu's lying. The underlying threat was also quite evident as her brown eyes hardened. Levy's grip on Lucy's arm tightened. She knew that later on, when all this was done, there would be quite a bit of crescent-shaped nail prints in her flesh.
If this nightmare ended, she corrected herself mentally.
Erza glared at the girls since none of them responded, not that an evident question was asked.
Lucy felt like she was about to pee her pants. Regardless of how much her father had given her an all too similar looking-down-upon glare when training her to be his heir, it was like child's play compared to Erza's steely gaze.
"We're not lying Ma'am!" Lucy squeaked.
"Erza," the old man said in a calming tone.
The intensity of the stare lessened but was still something to trifle with.
He leveled Lucy with his cool, even eyes.
"Are you saying that Natsu lied?" he queried.
Lucy felt her insides wrench. Her gut twisted and an unfamiliar pool of heat gathered in her stomach. If she said that Natsu lied then she knew that he would react terribly, yet if she denied her previous statement it would contradict both her behaviour and her previous words. She definitely couldn't run away, not with the beast that was Erza practically devouring them with her eyes.
She was in a conundrum.
As far as she could tell, every scenario was an obvious no-no.
She wished that she was just home, laying in her mama's bed while relishing every second like it would be her last, cause she knew, deep down no matter how hard she tried to deny it, that the end was coming soon for her mama. She never should have gotten caught up in this mess. She had much more important things to be doing.
Lucy let out a juddering breath. She knew what to do. There was no time for any cat-and-mouse game. Her time was much more valuable, her fear and worry were needed elsewhere, her tears needed to be where it counted; with the single most important person in her life. Not wasted on some pathetic wannabe gangster who was obviously on some kind of emotional roller-coaster.
"I'm not saying anything with regards to him, find out yourself. What I am saying is that neither I nor my friend here want anything to do with Fairy Tail so we would...appreciate it if you allow us to walk away peacefully."
Surprisingly she said it with conviction, enough to convince her own self of the bullshit she was spouting.
Yet while she was patting herself on the back, Erza's eyes narrowed to slits. She took an intimidating step forward. Lucy almost took one back.
The old man drilled her with his eyes. A vague hint of familiarity sparkled within the shimmering depths.
His expression changed to one of barely hidden amusement.
"Peacefully, Miss Heartfilia? Are you threatening my guild?"
Even though the words could have been malicious they weren't. It was weird yet Lucy felt herself liking him.
A small blush crept up her neck and ears, not quite seen in the dim light. He knew she was bluffing. And he knew who she was. She didn't reply.
"Well Erza, you heard the lady. We can't keep them here," he addressed Erza offhandedly, "If you would just kindly wait in here 'til I send for you I would greatly appreciate it. I have a certain individual to handle," he directed towards Lucy and Levy.
Lucy jerked her head into a nod, shock freezing her movements.
It was that easy. Just like that. She shook her head in awe, her parents had named her with Luck in mind so she guessed that something went right.
Okie, hope you enjoyed reading this as much as I did writing it!
