September first came then left along with both Dumbledore brothers'. Albus entered his last year and Aberforth into his fifth year, leaving the Dumbledore's only sister at home, in the charge of the Grindelwald siblings and their great aunt, Lady Bagshot.
Albus wasn't too pleased that the redhead would be near his sister, but he also knew, that she wouldn't be staying with them too long. As Lady of the Grindelwald household, she was beginning her political career as well finishing her Mastery in Potions.
Gellert was free to begin their grand plans; finding the Deathly Hollows and start their plans for the muggles. He was excited, and his friend, Elphias Doge knew it, even his own little brother could feel his excitement.
However, when the year ticked by slowly, he could no longer wait for the Yule vacation to begin, especially when his sister had sent him a letter. A letter that explains a procedure that could help her and her untamed magic and it was all thanks to the help of the Grindelwald siblings.
Albus wasn't sure what ideas Gellert's sister may have, but he could trust Gellert and if Ariana trusted them enough to help her, then things could change for the better.
But, it all wasn't going as planned.
When Yule vacations came, Albus and Aberforth found themselves on the train and heading back home. Where to Albus delight, he found a smiling Gellert, waiting for them.
Hugging each other in greetings, Albus noted how Gellert was dressed. Wearing fine winter clothing, he looked at him in question.
"My sister brought them for me," He answered the unasked question. He nodded his own head and smiled. "Well, let's not diddle dilly-dally here," Albus said. Gellert only smiled much brighter, holding tightly onto Albus' arm and held out his other arm to a sour looking Aberforth.
Side apparition was horrid, but the quickest way to go home.
Home, the small cottage home looked welcoming. The windows were brightly lit, making the snow glisten like small diamonds. The chimney had black smoke coming out; feeling the warmth, Albus smiled at his home, happy to call it home once more.
"Albus!" Greeted a happy feminine voice. Filled with laughter and warmth, Ariana stood in front of the door, waiting for them. "Aberforth, welcome home." She said. Her blue eyes shined brightly and her smile was bright.
"Hello, Ariana." He said, this was his sister, the sister he would have hadn't the accident hadn't happened.
"Ariana." Aberforth said, moving towards her and engulfing her in a hug. It was a warm welcome.
"I'll take my leave then." Gellert said, bringing him out of his thoughts.
"No," He said, holding onto Gellert's hand, holding him tightly. "Stay for the night." He whispered, ignoring the glare his younger brother was throwing him, but he couldn't care less.
Right now, he was feeling blissful and he wanted to spend the time with his family, but also with Gellert.
"Okay, my friend."
Even if he was seen only as a friend.
The magic was heavy on Yule night.
And it became even heavier when Tündér announced the Yule dinner was prepared. When Albus sorely glared at her as she took her seat between himself and Gellert, Aberforth could feel the heat of his elder brother magic flare up.
Ariana is sitting next to his right side, she looked frightened at the cold hard look in his eyes.
It was quiet.
Even with the silverware hitting the plate softly seemed to echo.
Tündér looked tensed and ready to jump. The blond brother seemed to look overly concerned, keeping an eye on his sister, but he was also aware of the heated magic Albus was producing in small amounts.
Ariana fidgeted every other minute, peeking through her eyelashes, watching the magic swirl around heavily.
As for himself, he couldn't help but grip tightly into his fork, watching his plate and peeking around the corners of his eyes for anything wrong.
"Ariana," The soft voice of Albus echoed through the room, the change of the look in his eye seemed to change so fast, that maybe it was never there at all in the first place. "You said you had something to tell me."
Aberforth tensed up quickly, but looking at Ariana, she seemed terrified of what could possibly happen. Smiling softly, he held onto her hand, squeezing it for some reassurance.
The blonde girl smiles thankfully at him, before glancing at Tündér. The redhead smiles softly at her, but Aberforth saw something in her green eyes.
The glassy glaze was gone, however, the forest green eyes looked hard and wild. It sent shivers down his spine. He knew that the redhead was a powerful witch, but he never knew what level and he hoped he never found out.
"Lady Grindelwald has finally declared that I've become stable enough to perform mind magic on me to help me gain control of my magic, but more than likely, I will become a squib in the end," Ariana said softly.
Albus seemed surprised.
But that didn't last long, not when the room became quiet once more. The loud screeching of the chair sounded off as Albus stood up straight and enraged.
"MIND MAGIC!" He bellowed.
Aberforth's first instinct was to get up and move away from the table. He followed that instinct, bringing Ariana behind him. Hiding her from the angered look Albus was shooting at her.
"FORBIDDEN MAGIC WILL NOT BE PERFORMED ON YOU!" He screamed.
Tündér and Gellert were on their feet the instant Albus began to yell.
The harsh look was thrown at Tündér who returned the look-back.
"There is a reason why it is forbidden, but it can help Ariana. She can be normal!" Tündér said harshly, the words were filled with venom.
"No one will perform such vile magic on my sister." Albus said, his magic swirling heavily around him, pushing it down on Tündér, trying to force her down.
However, Tündér fought back. The old deathly magic Albus felt whenever he was around her felt much more 0vile and horrifying. Making the auburn teen almost gag at the disgusting feeling running down his own.
His blue eyes stared down at the redhead.
"You are insane," He whispered harshly. Looking into her eyes, that's when magic hit both of them hard.
The table exploded, making Aberforth and Tündér's brother put up a protective shield, shielding themselves from glass and splintered wood.
Fire exploded on the ice covered chairs, "I may be insane, but I'll do anything to save that girl from killing herself off with her own magic!" Tündér said, speaking in a higher tone, almost yelling but just not quite yet.
"But Mind magic is forbidden! It is dark magic, the most evil magic there is." Albus shouted.
"It isn't, Ariana knows. I've given her books so she can learn about it before I even perform it on her. She is giving me the consent to go into her mind! How is that evil? When there is magic that is cable of healing, aren't you going to use it?"
"But such magic is dark, it is too strong and it could end up hurting her!" Albus shouted, pushing his magic, forcing Tündér to the ground, making her scream while he staggered backwards.
"By the end of his first year, he would never again be known as the son of a Muggle-hater, but as nothing more or less than the most brilliant student ever seen at the school," Elphias said proudly and amused, looking far away
Blue swirls mixed with green mixed inside his head, shattered fragments played inside his head. People, strangers he did not know echoed in his head as he watch them play over and over.
"Hide them all, then. Keep her — them — safe. Please," A young man dressed in black robes begged, begged to protect, but who?
"And what will you give me in return, Severus?" That voice, why was it familiar?
"In — in return? Anything," He watched the man name Severus stood up, looking at him directly with a serious and pained looked.
What was this?
He watches someone placing a one-year-old in front of a house, tucked in warm blankets and a letter placed inside and soon the scene changed again, this time he was in a Hogwarts Infirmary room, a boy with messy black hair and the most beautiful eyes looking at him.
"But why couldn't - touch me?" He asked, looking at him for answers. However, Albus couldn't hear the question properly.
"Your mother died to save you. If there is one thing - cannot understand, it is -. He didn't realize that - as powerful as you're - for you leaves its own mark. Not a scar, no visible sign… to have been - so deeply, even though the - - -, will give us some - forever. It is in your very skin. -, full of -, greed, and - , sharing his - with -, could not touch you for this reason. It - agony to touch a- - marked by something so -," The same familiar voice echoed.
Once more, the scene swirled around his head, he was in front of the young boy again, but this time he seemed a bit older. Perhaps a year old or two?
"You think the dead - - - leave - - - himself plainly when you have need of him. How else could you produce that particular -? - rode again last night."
This time it was more distorted, he watched the black-haired boy he had seen previously join a redhead boy and a brown haired female, the small trio spoke to themselves before they dissolve again.
"It is my belief — and never have I so hoped that I am mistaken — that we are all facing dark and difficult times. Some of you in this Hall have already - . A week ago, - - - -.. Remember, if the time should come when you have to make a choice between what is right and what is easy, remember what happened to - - -.
Before he could finish the memory, it was quickly cut off and pushed into another memory after another.
"Horcruxes!"
"Dark Lord!"
"Prophecy my dear boy."
"You shouldn't worry dear, everything will end up okay."
"To- M- R-"
"Gellert Grindelwald, why?" The memory stopped swirling around, flashes of unknown people stopped. Standing in front of his house, Gellert saw an annoyed blond.
The dark look in his eyes told him something was wrong. What was happening to him?
"It's for the greater good, Albus."
Everything went black, the fire flared up before it died, the ice cracked before melting away.
Gellert and Aberforth looked at each other, nodding to each other and took their wands out. Gellert quickly moved towards Tündér, who stopped withering in pain.
Abbas seemed to be shocked, but stared at the redhead, who was getting help from Gellert. Aberforth was too scared to even go near him at the moment. Ariana was crying to herself in the corner.
The weak chuckle brought everyone's attention towards Tündér, "For someone who hates the Mind Magic and sees them as dark," She whispered softly, her eyes close, leaning onto her brother for support. "You sure have the affinity to enter one's mind without a problem…such a hypocrite." She said softly, opening her green eyes to look at Albus. Wild and glazed, she stared at him with an unknown expression before they closed off, falling limp in Gellert's arms.
Albus was in shock.
Aberforth was shocked.
Gellert was filled with worry, feeling the magic around his sister slipping. The protective warmth that covered him was fading slowly.
Something was wrong.
Yule night was a disaster.
Tündér fell into a magical coma, Albus didn't want to believe the words the redhead had spoken to him, closing himself up from Aberforth and Ariana.
Ariana and Aberforth had escaped their house most early mornings, helping an elderly couple a couple houses away with their farm.
Aberforth eventually understood what Tündér meant when they spoke, he became fond of a small runt goat. Nurturing the small baby to survive.
Gellert didn't meet Albus request in seeing each other. He was shocked and filled with anger, watching his best friend tear into his sister's defenses like nothing.
He could barely feel her heartbeat and he was worried she wouldn't survive.
He watched her sleep in the bed like nothing was wrong, but it was. And it pained him to see her laying in the bed like that.
Author's Note: Here is another chapter and the beta chapter will be put up once I have it.
This was a difficult chapter to type, it took me a month, a month! But here it is, I hope you like it even though I really don't like this chapter, not my favorite one, but do tell me what you guys think about it and sorry for the late update.
P.s.
I looked into an Albus's wiki page and also Gellert's, I've come to the conclusion, that the original plot line for Harry Potter books has finally gone out the window, just saying, chapter 8 you can finally see the difference. That is all, thank you for reading and I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
