Tail of Luvic

Chapter 7: Delay of Time

Within the nearly lifeless desert of Tanaris, the bronze dragonflight burst into activity as the timestream shifted with a dramatic turn as the cavern of time's magic flared out with great quantity. The Lord of Time, Nozdormu, roared loudly as the many time streams suddenly stopped all together, before changing. By whatever time they calmed down enough for him to inspect them he noticed a lot more different scenarios.

The previously most likely scenario, what would have been the classic World of Warcraft timeline, now had dimmed down as another replaced its current path. Everything changed, everything.

The Lich King's invasion of the great capitals, delayed. The freedom of the Death Knights from his grasp? Put back to a more future point of time. The Cataclysm? He could barely see it now, it was there, but not nearly as serious.

Nozdormu, blinded by his anger to a change in the timeline, searched frantically for the point of time of which drastically reorganized and shifted the future.

He was getting closer, back, further back, there! A white pod, crossing through space then impacting near gates of Stormwind. Nozdormu went in for a closer look, but a blinding light erupted forth in his vision, disrupting and preventing him from knowing the cause.

Nozdormu roared once more, casting a spell to dim the light so he could recollect himself. He backed off from the point of time, the light vanishing from his vision. Something did not want him to know the cause, something disrupted his timeline!

The last time this happened, it was the Guardian of Tirisfal. But he excused that one, mostly…

Nozdormu decided to change his time viewing, if he couldn't see the direct cause, then he could see the indirect ones.

And see he did, this disturber, the light had interrupted massive events. Though, it was more as if it had pushed everything back to a later point, as if it was trying to hold it off until something was ready.

Was it the infinite dragonflight? His counterpart trying to prevent his death once more-

His death, his loss of powers after the defeat of Deathwing… Is gone.

He wasn't going to die, he was immortal forever more, he could keep watching time.

This… This is great news for himself and the other dragonflights! But, he had to keep this a secret. The Dragon Queen would probably want him to fix it, but he couldn't do that. He was the Lord of Time, it's his responsibility to watch over the timeline of Azeroth.

Nozdormu decided to go from his time view, back to the present day so he could give an order to his fellow bronze dragon. He would meet with this disturber.

"Nozari, I require your asssssitance." Nozdormu echoed throughout the cavern of time.

A female humanoid being, pale, blond hair, with glowing green eyes and point long ears, walked up to the laying Lord of Time.

"Yes, Lord? What is it that you wish of me? Does it have to do with the recent changes in the timeline?" She said, kneeling before him.

"Go to the Kingdom of Stormwind, find this disturber, and bring him or her before me. I shall deal with the disturber, personally." Nozdormu ordered her.

Nozari nodded, her eyes shifting from the glowing green color of present day blood elves, to the blue color of high elves, the original elves of Quel'thalas. With this she should be able to enter the human kingdom without being attacked for suspecting to be part of the horde

"Now go! Time iss of esssence!"

Half way across the world, our five year old protagonist, Luvic, talked with his friend and Prince, Anduin, about the recent news regarding the subject of his black dragon whelp Askanti.

"So, Askanti just started spewing fireballs?" Anduin stated to get the facts straight.

"Yep! Really hot fireballs, but fireballs nonetheless!" Luvic said with a grin plastered on his face.

Anduin blinked, "Wow, she's growing fast... Do dragons even develop that fast? I know you are growing twice the rate of a human."

"Yeah but that's cause of child of light jumble stuff," Luvic said, "I'll stop growing twice that fast when I reach ten years old. Till then, I gotta train and be the best paladin ever!" The Saiyan child exclaimed.

The Prince of Stormwind couldn't help but chuckle at his young friend's enthusiasm, "Well you have a long way to get to the status of Urther Lightbringer and Anduin Lothar!"

"Hah!" Luvic laughed, "I'll get there, and be fifty times stronger!"

"Wow, didn't know you remembered math lessons." Anduin teased.

"Hey!" The saiyan child yelled, "I may have problems in learning that stuff, but I'm a genius in knowing how to fight!"

"Rawr!" The black whelp, Askanti, said.

"Askanti agrees!" Luvic stated.

"She just roared, how is that an agreement?!" The human pre-teen replied.

"It definitely is your majesty!" Luvic laughed again, his tail wagging side to side in his joy.

"Ugh, Luvic you are insufferable."

"And you can't take a joke."

Both friends resides within the park that decorated a part of Stormwind Keep, Luvic particularly enjoyed coming here as it held a variety of animals and even a puppy dog, though the latter was a bit vicious to everyone. But Askanti taught it a lesson by burning some of its fur off, it never bothered them again.

"Hey Anduin?" Luvic said, catching the prince's attention.

"What is it, Luvic?" Anduin asked.

"How come I don't have a last name?" The saiyan asked curiously.

"Huh? Why you don't have a last name? Well... I guess we just haven't gave you one. You don't really have a family to begin with, so there is no lineage to add to your name." Anduin Wrynn said as he rubbed his chin in thought.

"But everyone has a last name! Even the adventurers! Oh, I wish I could adventure too, cause staying here is boring, but still they have a last name!" The child of light exclaimed, switching between two subjects as he spoke.

"I guess you just have to discover what your family name can be..." The human priest child replied, "However for the adventures, perhaps we can get my father to let us journey to Northshire Abbey or Lakeshire?"

"Really!? Cool! I've read about the Redridge Mountains, seems like a interesting place. Maybe we can go Gnoll hunting!" Luvic said as he stood up, excited as his saiyan instincts were eager to welcome a change of scenery and potential battles.

Anduin chuckled, "You seem excited for Redridge it seems, alright that settles it, I'm bored of being stumped in this keep as well! We're heading to Lakeshire!" He exclaimed.

"Yay!" Luvic cheered. "We're going on a adventure, we're going on a adventure!"

"Anduin Wrynn!" A distant voice yelled.

Luvic and Anduin looked behind them to see Bolvar Fordragon waking their way.

"Yes?" Anduin answered, his back up straight and royal demeanor kicking in.

Bolvar stood above them, clad in armor and his weapons had his side as if he had plans to go somewhere. His facial expression looked to be serious, before it lightened up.

"What's this I hear of an adventure? You planning on sneaking out with Luvic here?" Bolvar said with a grin.

"No! I was going to tell my father! He'll get as mad as his old Lo'gosh counterpart otherwise!" Anduin said, waving his hands in front of him.

"Well good, I'll help you convince him anyway. I know what it's like being cooped up with nothing to do," Bolvar laughed as he crossed his arms.

Luvic maintained a happy expression, "Really? Great! I can't wait to go! Did you know I'm almost six now?!" The saiyan exclaimed, his monkey-like tail wagging about.

"All the more reason to give you a good vacation around our kingdom's domain!" Bolvar said, patting his hand on the young child's head.

"Cool!" Luvic said amazed, "Perhaps we can visit Northshire and Westfall afterward?" He questioned.

"Rawr!" Askanti seemingly agreed, the black whelp hovering over Luvic's shoulder.

Anduin nodded, "Perhaps, though Westfall is a bit of a issue with the defias now."

The saiyan child frowned, "Oh yeah... We discovered that charade when they tried to get rid of me," He finished.

"Don't think of the downside Luvic," Anduin said, "They are plenty of places to explore and the Defias will be dealt with soon enough."

Bolvar nodded in agreement with his Prince, "Now the problem is trying to convince your father to let you out of Stormwind."

"No."

"Oh come on Father! It's even within the Alliance's domain, how could you say no?" Anduin questioned as he tried to convince the stubborn King of Stormwind.

Luvic agreed, "Yeah! I'm so bored being stuffed up-!"

"Silence Luvic," King Varian said, the saiyan child shutting up at the order from his majesty.

"Rawr!"

"You too," The human King said to the dragon whelp with disdain in his eyes directed at its black scales. Which seemed to make it glare back defiantly but remained close to Luvic's side.

Bolvar said, "Varian, my friend. You can't keep tight ropes on them forever, and Redridge has never been within the range of the Defias."

"The Defias are not to be underestimated Bolvar, and I've heard news of Blackrock orcs within the Redridge Mountains." Varian stated, a commanding presence emitting from him, his voice full of distaste with the word of 'Orcs', more so than even concerning Askanti.

Bolvar Fordragon wasn't going to give up, "Varian, what if Grayson went with them along with a squad of soldiers?'

Varian raised an eyebrow at this suggestion.

Bolvar continued, "Grayson is a war veteran with much experience, as well as Luvic's Paladin trainer. I'm sure he, along with a few soldiers, could protect both of them and also possibly deal with the Blackrock threat while they're at it."

The King of Stormwind closed his eyes in thought, Luvic and Anduin sucked in their breaths with hopeful expressions on their faces.

"Very well," Varian said, making his son and Luvic release their held breaths, "But if they are in any danger, I want them returned immediately."

Luvic cheered, "Yatta!" He exclaimed, jumping in the air with his tail wagging about in excitement.

"Rawr!" Askanti roared in happiness as it felt its fellow nest mate's excitement.

"Yes!" Anduin exclaimed as well, "We'll get prepared!"

"Don't forget your weaponry," Varian said, "I don't want you defenseless even if its Alliance domain."

"Sure thing," Luvic said excitingly, "I'll grab Archeus and my Gi!"

Varian spoke toward the saiyan, "This Gi of yours, that's the custom clothes you ordered to be made of Runecloth, correct?"

Luvic nodded, "Uh huh! I'm too small for plate or mail armor, and leather is a bit uncomfortable. However runecloth made armor is perfect, it's very durable and quite enchantable if I decided to enhance it!"

The human King nodded in understanding, Runecloth would fit the boy decently for protection at his current level of growth. But he can't help but think where the boy got the idea for a 'Gi' from. Perhaps from the Pandarians… Making another thought of where the saiyan even met one.

A traveling brewmaster perhaps.

When Varian came out of his thoughts he noticed both his son and Luvic, along with that black whelp, had disappeared from his sight. He sighed, Luvic has had quite an impact on his son, for good or worse the King couldn't tell.

"Bolvar," he said.

His friend nodded, "I'll tell Grayson. My King, I truly believe this will give your son and Luvic some much needed life experience."

"I hope you're right, now I got to deal with the stuck up nobles." Varian said with a bit of annoyance.

Bolvar laughed, "Good luck with that!"

"I'll need it... I also got some message from the the night elves."

This made Bolvar have a serious expression, "What's it about? The night elves generally keep to themselves." He asked.

Varian looked to him, "It's about a small situation we had at Duskwood. That giant monkey incident, apparently a traveling Druid and his apprentice informed them about it. I don't have to tell you who they are talking about."

Bolvar nodded, "Luvic."

Varian nodded as well, "This concerns me, I am well aware Luvic is in love with the Alliance, which insures his loyalty to the cause. But we are still in the dark on what exactly he is, as much as we pass him off as human to the general populous. All we are aware of is that his species is called saiyans."

The King of Stormwind knew this from his son, who has gotten as much information about the Saiyan's past out of the boy as possible. However they were in bad luck, as the name saiyan, and information about that his home planet was gone now.

They had no clue on what destroyed his home planet either, it was generally accepted that it must have been the burning legion.

They had informed the boy never to speak about his heritage, refer to himself as human only and that he was an orphan taken up by the Order of the Paladins.

"They want him to come to Darnassus?" Bolvar questioned.

"Exactly," Varian answered, "They want him in Druid training specifically. Which Luvic has no interest in, and I personally wish to keep him in Paladin training."

Bolvar crossed his arms in thought, "That's your military mind speaking of course, Paladins generally follow the Alliance to battle, good leaders, and devastating opponents. Unlike the Druids who are tied to nature alone, with few exceptions."

"Any ideas, Bolvar?" The King asked.

"Hmm, perhaps have Luvic explore the Alliance territory, keep Grayson with him as he trains the boy. By the time they reach the night elves, Luvic would be too ingrained in the Paladin ways to take up Druidism."

Varian nodded, "We'll do that idea until a alternative method can be found."

"Alright, I'll inform Grayson." Bolvar said, turning to the exit of the keep to inform the ex member of the Knights of the Silver Hand about the trip, and the true mission behind it.
