So I thought "What if…" and this happened.
This is about the main protagonist. It really isn't a pairing story, but instead talks about all the people Shi-Woon has met so far.
Just so you know the story will break away from canon for a while, so if characters seem a little OOC that's because of my applied changes. I apologize.
Spoiler: You should be caught up to the point where the Sun-Woo Clan takes in Shi-Woon and Shi-Woon heads off to help Jinnie escape from the Gothic Princess lady.
"Sir, are you sure you are feeling all right?" Gyu Bim asked once more, his closed eyes pulling down at the corners as his small frown creased his face. He fiddled with his fingers behind his back as he watched the younger boy.
"I'm fine. It was just a long training day with Elder Jwonand I'm feeling tired," the boy reassured the taller man once more, tugging at his white gi that slid at the shoulders.
Gyu Bimstill wasn't reassured, his eyebrows furrowing in worry. "I will be here if you need anything else Gaju-nim." He repeated, watching as the teenager entered the room that the Sun-Woo clan had provided for their head.
Shi-Woon gave the retainer one last smile before closing the door behind him and facing the room. The smile fell from his face and his eyes lost that bright gleam in the corners. He glanced at the bed that took up a large part of the small area.
'King? No, Queen,' Shi-Woon noted idly. He strolled over to the desk that took up part of the other side of the room. ' And this is oak. Pretty expensive.'
He leaned back on the desk, his eyes straying down to his wrist, where a tattered string bracelet poked out from under his sleeve.
A small smile made its way onto Shi-Woon's face at the sight. Jinnie had given it to him a week ago. It had been two weeks after her fight with the Gothic Chick from SUC. It was supposedly a "thank you" present, but Shi-Woon could still see the blush that painted her cheeks when she had given it to him. He was sure there was a deeper meaning behind the small act. Especially since he saw a similar item attached to the red-head's cell phone.
Thinking of Jinnie led Shi-Woon to think about her quieter, brunette counterpart. Sera Kang was brilliant. A mind that Shi-Woon was surprised to meet in the Murim. She was cutting in her ability to deal with her own gang. Shi-Woon could still remember the moment in the gym so vividly, where Sera had stopped her group from turning against her. Shi-Woon could see her face now as she blackmailed them into submission.
It was amazing that a girl that was so gifted in manipulation in her own right would fall so easily to that same manipulation.
Shi-Woon tilted his head up, his eyes focused on something far beyond his ceiling.
The girl had so many emotional openings that Shi-Woon barely had to work to get her trust. He just had to be "kind". She didn't even look beyond that kindness, too excited in that feeling of attention that he gave her.
She was actually easier than Jinnie! Though, frankly, Jinnie gave him a curveball. Shi-Woon thought that he had that girl under control as well, but she had disappeared so suddenly. Who would have thought that Elder Kwon would have asked her to assassinate him right in the beginning? Sure Shi-Woon had expected such a move, but so early?
Thinking of Elder Kwon now made Shi-Woon grit his teeth as a seething rage bubbled at his lungs. That man was standing between him and what he so desperately wanted.
That power.
It used to be so much easier in high school. Chun-Woo and Shi-Ho were so focused on each other that they didn't even look farther into Shi-Woon's own motives.
Sure, Shi-Woon wanted to beat his childhood bullies. Gaining power to protect himself was important, but then Shi-Woon had realized what else he could do with that power. When he had watched Goomoonryong decimate that biker gang Shi-Woon was filled with this…need. He wanted that power. He wanted to hold people's lives in his hands.
More than not looking into his less than pure intentions, Chun-Woo was willing to teach Shi-Woon all the techniques a dictator could possibly want. It always surprised Shi-Woon with how open Goomoonryong was about his skills. Maybe the man thought no one could copy them. Or maybe the man was just stupid. That was a very real possibility.
But his new instructors were so dull. They harped on the same three techniques everyday, never going into moves that were in the more advanced stages. It was frustrating, really.
At first, Shi-Woon had thought he just had to show his tenacity, show he could take the abuse. That led to bruises covering his entire body due to "Smiling Sword".
He thought that then, at least then, his "masters" would see the potential that he held. And he almost got somewhere with Elder Jeong. The man had started to bend for him, seeming to decide to seriously train him. But of course, Elder Kwon had to get in the way.
Shi-Woon had seen what a horrible opponent Elder Kwon would be. The man had influence, and he wielded it far better than Goomoonryong could. Even with all the impact Goomoonryong could have, he was too focused on himself. Elder Kwon understood the people that surrounded him. Worse, Elder Kwon could see people's desires through their actions and words. Shi-Woon was sure that the man had guessed his true feelings.
But then that ordeal with the gothic chick and Jinnie happened. Shi-Woon was able to throw off any suspicion. Pretending to sacrifice his own life for Jinnie's had been a great move. Now Elder Kwon trusted him. At least trusted him enough for Shi-Woon to use the amazing resources that the Sun-Woo clan had.
Shi-Woon let out a heavy sigh as he gazed around the room some more. Yes, the Sun Woo clan had great power and wealth, but the monotony was starting to drag on him. He was getting tired of this. At first it had been interesting. A fun way to entertain himself, but now it was starting to take a lot more work than it was worth.
He had to sustain his act at all times. Unlike in highschool where Shi-Woon had his home to retreat to, here people were watching him at all times. There wasn't a time that he could get away from their scrutiny. This "nice guy" act was getting so bad that he felt that he was starting to become who he was pretending to be. He needed to get out there and quickly.
But he still needed to take care of that pesky SUC group. They were annoying at the very least, destructive to Shi-Woon's plans at their worst. Whoever started that stupid group needed to pay.
Hopefully, it wasn't Goomoonryong, like everyone claimed it would be. That would make the situation even more complicated. If Shi-Woon had to deal with a juggernaut as well as act like he respected the man, his plans would be all but ruined.
A knock at the door pulled Shi-Woon from his thoughts.
"Gaju-nim? You are needed for the meeting," Gyu Bim called through the door.
But one thing at a time. First Shi-Woon would deal with SUC. Then he would deal with whoever was backing them.
Shi-Woon's smile was sharp at the edges as he rolled his shoulders, ready to deal with idiotic elder committee. He shot a glance at the mirror, making sure that his eyes had his patented innocent look to them before he headed to the door.
"What's on the agenda today?"
This was a plot bunny. I don't really think that Shi-Woon could ever have this type of personality. Frankly I don't want him to have this personality. But just like… what if? Right?
Well, not my favorite one-shot(I don't really like OOC characters that much) but I hope it started plot bunnies for someone else. Or something along those lines.
