Chapter 7
Kise didn't hear back from his lover that night or the following, so when Monday eventually came, the blonde was extremely excited (troubled, concerned, anxious) to finally meet up with that precious person of his... Kaijo's ace was actually so worried about Kasamatsu's physical state, that he was unable to sleep properly those two nights he had spent without receiving a text response from the other. Under other circumstances, one would say that Kise was just overreacting, but since Kasamatsu had accepted their relationship (or even himself?), it wasn't like him to abandon his worried teammate, lover, friend... Or was this not the case at all?
Kise felt like his oxygen was limited as he had started running towards the school, eagerly (and quite fearfully) hoping to see the brunette in one piece... What if Kasamatsu hadn't managed to return home in the first place? He had said he was feeling alright but how could the blonde trust a person with such a strong pride? Or, what if, after returning home safely, Kaijo's captain passed out and their parents took him to the hospital? How much would he have to explain to them afterwards? How much damage had his head received? Would he ever be able to play basketball again?
"Oi, Kise!"
The blonde accidentally bumped into one of his classmates in the building's corridor but didn't bother ceasing his sprint, afraid that his teary eyes would render him blind before he was able to gaze at the captain.
"Ah!"
As Kise turned around after climbing up the stairs and before he was able to reach the older boy's classroom an abrupt impact forced him to fall backwards and a moan of pain escaped the lips of someone other than him.
"Are you a complete idiot?"
The voice shouted frustrated and Kise felt his heart skip a beat at that familiar cursing.
"S-senpai!"
The ace exclaimed enthusiastically but Kasamatsu was still sitting on the floor and holding his head in pain.
"Do you want to murder me...?"
The captain had lowered his voice as if the other students who were passing by would somehow understand the incidents that had taken place two days ago.
"I'm really sorry senpai! I'm really really really real-"
"I get it, I get it! Don't make my headache worse..."
The brunette murmured annoyed and automatically took Kise's offered hand that pulled him on his feet.
"Are you o... kay?"
Kise stuttered confused when Kasamatsu got up and pulled his hand back violently.
"I'm fine... Don't be late at practice today."
Kasamatsu responded quietly and then walked away before the blonde managed to say a thing, causing even more disarray to the latter.
Time passed quickly for the troubled ace (his classmates and the female students always filling in his spacious moments), but the same could not be said for Kaijo's captain. The irony was that unlike Kise, who wanted to contemplate of Kasamatsu's bizarre behavior but couldn't, Kasamatsu didn't have the slightest desire to reckon on why he was behaving that way, yet his desolation left him no other choice.
A sigh escaped from both their lips when school time was finally over, and as Kise discreetly passed in front of his captain's classroom before heading towards their basketball practice, he was lucky enough to spot the brunette being the last person remaining in the room; or was it not a coincidence?
"Senpai..."
A soft murmur echoed in the almost empty classroom and Kasamatsu raised his eyes surprised.
"Tsk, I told you to go to practice after school was over, didn't I?"
His words didn't appear as sincere as he was trying to make them seem and without keeping his gaze for more than two seconds towards his inferior, Kasamatsu continued putting the last books into his bag.
"Are you angry about yesterday?"
Kise entered the classroom and closed the door behind him with no hesitation.
"Don't close the door you idiot, people will start assuming things...!"
Kasamatsu whispered irked and the blonde couldn't help but frown at that statement.
"I don't care about them senpai, and neither should you... But we've already talked about that, haven't we? Why are you acting like that towards me? Why haven't you responded to my-"
"This is too much of a risk Kise!"
An asphyxiating silence followed Kasamatsu's hurtful yell and the latter wanted to smack his face for uttering such words -which seemed to burden him even more than they did to the other.
"I..."
The captain stuttered hesitantly, wondering what good it would do if he voiced the reason behind his frustration.
"When I had returned home from the 'party' my head had started bleeding again and I hadn't taken notice of it... with result my father seeing it..."
He paused for a second, only to place his schoolbag on his back.
"I had to come up with some stupid excuse of how I got hurt during the party... Thankfully he was too shallow and believed me, but my mother..."
Kasamatsu started walking towards Kise and was staring at him with grieved eyes.
"She's not stupid..."
He spelled as he reached the blonde's side and as the second automatically tried to softly embrace the distressed captain, the latter stepped away from him quickly.
"I don't want to dishonor her."
He quietly continued, being about to open the door and depart from the poisonous classroom but there was no way Kise would let him go like that.
"So, is this it? Is it over?"
The ace's voice was softly trembling (but was determined not to show that emotion on his face) and hurriedly extended his hand in order to hold the closed door.
"I didn't say that..."
Kasamatsu's words took Kise off guard, who was now looking at his lover perplexed.
"It's not over?"
The blonde repeated with an added confusion and an automatic smile was drawn on the captain's face.
"That's why you're an idiot..."
Since they were both standing right behind the door, Kasamatsu kept his voice as low as possible, afraid that someone would pass by and listen to their talking.
"We just have to be more discreet about it."
The brunette finally spelled as if this was the most natural thing to do and Kise couldn't help but raise his eyebrows surprised.
"But we are! It's not like we're doing anything in public... Just in empty classrooms..."
Kise was about to land a kiss on Kasamatsu's lips but the second easily placed his hand in front of him, cupping the blonde's face.
"That too...! That's not discreet...!"
The captain whispered (rather loud) and Kise chuckled with his lover's hand almost covering his entire face.
"But no one is going to see us here senpai...! It's like we're in a small bubble on our own. We see no one and no one sees us..."
An unreasonable thrill decorated Kise's excited whispers and Kasamatsu mechanically smacked his face for falling in love with such a stupid person.
"How can you be so stupid?"
The brunette muttered in despair and the ace happily responded to that while cunningly approaching the other's face.
"Didn't you know senpai? Love can make you really stupid."
"This is n-"
Before Kasamatsu was able to respond, Kise had already come close enough and the first decided to silence his words on his own, giving permission to the blonde (Kise knew better than to kiss him compulsively like that) to finish what he was going to do.
'In the end you don't mind if it's in an empty classroom... Senpai's such a liar...'
Kise reckoned quite entertained as he closed the distance between their lips and gently deepened their kiss, following his captain's movements.
The hand that was previously extended in order to jam Kasamatsu's escape (why did it feel like deja vu?) was now softly placed around the shorter's nape and Kise's other hand -that knew it would be too dangerous if it succumbed to lower places- was tightly holding his superior's shoulder. Kasamatsu's body took a while to move accordingly (Kise thought that his captain's tongue was the first part of his body that always submitted to his emotions) but finally moved his hands and wrapped them around the taller's body, indiscreetly feeling the hard features of Kise's back.
They hadn't realized how much time had passed, and if it wasn't for Kasamatsu's unexpected moan, they would have probably kept on going.
"Ah, senpai, are you okay?"
Kise moved his head back worriedly, not realizing that that moan wasn't that of pain...
"A-ah... We should get going to practice..."
Kasamatsu said all at once, his feverish face along with his hard body features being instantly noticed by the oblivious blonde.
"Wait, wait senpai...! Did you, maybe, want to-"
"Shut up you idiot! We'll be late!"
An automatic punch was landed on Kise's stomach, forcing the latter to bow in pain, and as the brunette moved his hand in order to wipe his wet mouth with his sleeve, he quietly opened the classroom's door, mistakenly judging by the silence that existed that no one else was in their floor's corridor at that moment.
"Ah...!"
A startled exclamation came from another member of their basketball team who was about to knock on the door but was surprised by Kasamatsu who had opened it without notice.
"H-hey..."
The brunette stuttered shocked at the unexpected sight of their teammate and rapidly lowered his hand; his heart being about to escape out of his chest and his legs almost giving up on him (the uncontrollable trembling he was experiencing was too overwhelming) while the color of his face along with his reddened lips were making truly obvious what was happening in that classroom...
"Y... You were late so I came up to check on you."
The voice sounded hesitant and Kasamatsu's mind had suddenly found a trillion worries to be tortured about.
"I w- ..."
"Ah, hey!"
Kise unwillingly interrupted his lover's timid words and smiled -a wrinkle of pain on his forehead- towards the superior that stood out of the classroom.
"We were now heading to the court!"
The blonde continued and the other instantaneously glanced at Kise's lips, seeing the same noticeable redness with Kasamatsu's.
"A-ah, okay then..."
Kobori finally said disturbed and quietly left from their floor.
