Seventh Night: Are We Still Friends?
When she got the call, Allen had sounded as though he would die over the phone. However, he wasn't the one who would die. No. They would. Robin angrily decided as she marched towards the flat she knew was near here. Just ten minutes ago, she had gotten a call on her cellphone, from the very person she had literally searched all around town to find. To think, of all places, the idiot ended up at her two best friends' home. And what's more? Both males had attempted to molest her little brother!
They would pay with their lives for attempting to taint her adopted sibling. As she neared her destination, she smelled three familiar scents. One of books and ink, the other jasmine and lotus. Lavi and Kanda. But that third one…it was a more pungent scent. The scent of decaying flesh, dirt, and sewage waste, all wrapped up into one.
"Akuma." She hissed, her fists clenching. "Perfect. Just perfect!" She all but screeched as she changed direction, and raced where the disgusting smell was from.
The greeting of "Yo, Robin~!" was the first greeting she got when she finally made it to the fray. Lavi's hammer had come into contact with one of the vial deformed humanoid's head, knocking it clean off from its neck.
"Che. What are you doing here?" The other male asked, as he released his sword from where the monster's heart was, the decaying flesh falling to the ground.
"I was about to pick up my kid brother from your home, when I came across this." Robin seethed, as she quickly took a fighting pose, grabbing an Akuma from behind her by its arm, and throwing it over her shoulder, its head hitting the pavement of the alley, creating a gory splatter of grey matter and oil-black blood.
"Eh? You know Allen's at our place?" Lavi said, momentarily distracted by Robin's outburst, before getting back into the battle, quickly destroying another Akuma.
"Usagi, burn these damn things already, or so help me, I'll fucking kill you." The threat was very much real, though Lavi had learned long ago his threats never really could be followed through, considering their situation.
"Fine, fine. One Fire Seal coming right up~!" Lavi said, as he held his weapon over his head. "Let's go~! Activate!" Various arrays appeared with different kanji within them. Spinning his hammer made the seals move until he found the one he was aiming for. "Fire Stamp! Hellfire of Ash!" He shouted as he released a column of fire and burned the Akuma into nothing. "Hm. Why didn't we—OUCH! DAMMIT THAT HURT!"
"Molesting my brother? Keeping him hostage in your place?" You two better have one hell of an explanation or so help me, I'll tear you apart until you wish for Death himself to claim your second lives."
"Sh-she means it, Yu…"
"Che. Listen, and listen good. We didn't kidnap that brat. I was heading to my home when I smelled blood. I checked, and there was you sorry excuse of a moyashi brother getting his ass handed to him by a bunch of thugs. He would've been raped if I hadn't been there."
"Lavi. Is this true?"
"I wouldn't know. I was on my way out of the library around that time."
"Fine then. But you two are far from off the hook until I see Allen."
"There's something else you should know, by the way, Robin…"
"What?"
"Allen kinda…sorta…knows about Yu and I being Grim Reapers?"
"You're joking, right?"
"If only." Kanda muttered. "And here's the icing on the cake."
Robin looked to the two males with a sceptic look on her face. "Go on." She said, almost as though daring them to speak. "What else did you do, that I may maim you for?"
It was Lavi who spoke next, "Well~ How to say? We both want to make him our mate?"
"…wait, what?"
| = ( } : - : { ) = |
Allen was hoping Robin brought him a change of clothes. But somehow, he doubted it, considering he failed to mention what happened to him prior. Sighing, he laid on the couch staring at the ceiling, trying to figure out everything he could.
Grim Reapers…beings that survived by feeding off the lifeblood of…well, the living. To him, it didn't sound too much different from vampires, but unlike vampires, Grim Reapers didn't seem to have a weakness that he could see. They walked in the sun, they're unaffected by garlic, if the heavy smell of garlic on the half-eaten pizza was anything to go by. They felt pain, though they healed faster than normal humans.
He knew they had natural body heat, considering both times he'd been molested by Lavi then Kanda…and he knew they were…scratch that, had been humans. He sighed again, only feeling frustrated at getting nowhere fast. And what was that about his blood? What was so special about it? From what he could tell his blood was no different from anyone else who had the stuff flowing through them. Did they have fangs? He didn't think so, but he never really went close enough to check.
Not that I want to check! Allen amended. He groaned as he sat up, and placed his feet on the carpeted floor, the softness of the material feeling welcoming to the sensitive soles. "Really though, what did I get myself into?"
"Well short stack, that depends on what you were thinking before you asked that out loud." Eyes widening, he turned his attention to the voice he knew only too well.
"Robin!" The boy said with a large smile, but it soon left when the other two Grim Reapers entered behind her. "Oh. It's you two again."
"Hey! That's just cruel, Moyashi-chan!" Lavi said with an over-exaggerated whine. "To think, I helped you with your homework!"
"Then you molested me right after." Came the youngest's blunt retort, before glaring daggers at Kanda. "You, on the other hand, nearly raped me after you saved my sorry ass!"
"Ah yeah…I heard about that one." It seemed there was no need to tell Robin about nearly being killed by a small gang? "Allen, didn't Master Cross teach you how to defend yourself? You should've been able to—"
"I won't cause harm to another human." At this the other two males in the room quirked a brow at Allen's statement.
"Baka Moyashi," Kanda uttered, "are you fucking telling us, that even if your damn life is in danger you won't do shit about saving it? Where the hell is your self-preservation?"
"I don't ask to be purposely hurt! I just can't hurt other people! Not again…"
"Short stack. That was then, this is now. I know y—"
"DON'T SAY IT!" The elder three looked to the boy with shock as he shouted. "J-just don't…Robin…" The silver-eyed male looked down, his form trembling slightly.
"Something's eating at ya, isn't it?"
A nod.
"Does it have anything to do that I'm not as human as I seem to be?"
A twitch in his figure, then another nod.
"These two told me they told you about Lenalee and me." Robin continued, helping the smallest male back to the couch. "I guess you don't trust us anymore, right?"
A head shake "no", surprising the female. Allen looked up, before looking back down, twiddling his thumbs as he did so. "I…still trust you…but not as much as I used to…your still my sister though…right? And Lenlaee's still my best friend…that's all the same, isn't it?" Had the boy have been looking up at Robin, he would've seen a fond smile and relief flooding through her features.
"Of course it is, Short stack. Of course it is."
I liked the ending of this one...it was sweet :3 Hope y'all enjoying this! I can't promise quick updates, so I'll update when I'm able, yeah? Also, I'm gonna post the next chapter of "Without a Past", so please, look forward to that sometime this week :D
