Hello again! Sorry about the wait. By the way, I wanted to tell you guys, if you go on Wattpad, this same story is there, just with the author as TheMadHowler. Don't worry, they're not stealing the story, TheMadHowler and I are actually writing this together. So, in the last chapter, we had some nice bonding with Wally and Jaci, this chapter we have Robin and Hope. And some jealously. But before we get there, I would like to say something. Now, I know you didn't want to get a story where some of the main characters get snatched up by OCs, and I apologize if you hate when that happens, but this story does have that. If you don't like it, I'm sorry, but you don't have to read it. Anyway, we have an interesting chapter here, and I hope you like it!
Disclaimer: I still don't own YJ. Never have, probably never will. Also don't own Pandora Hearts
Losing Hope
Still in the store
September 15th
8:45 A.M.
It was the morning after the closet scandal, and everyone was heading to breakfast. Well, almost everyone. Hope walked into the cafeteria to see Wally and Jaci sitting at the same table, glancing at each other before looking away while making small talk. She smiled, then looked around the room. She walked up to Jaci.
"Hey, have you seen Artemis lately? She seems to have disappeared."
Jaci thought for a moment. "Y'know, actually, I haven't seen her in a while. Huh."
Hope frowned. It wasn't like Artemis, to just disappear like that. "I'm gonna go look for her."
"Be careful!" Jaci called, before she and Wally returned to their conversation.
Hope walked outside, scanning the horizon for the archer. Some distance away, she could make out a green shape. She headed towards the shape, and it revealed to be Artemis shooting a bunch of arrows in an old Target sign. The bulls eye was already full.
"Hey Artemis."
Artemis didn't answer, just kept her focus on the sign.
"What's up?"
"Nothing." Another arrow flew. Hope sighed.
"You know, Artemis Lian Crock, I don't think I believe you." The notched arrow missed the sign by a mile, and Artemis whirled around, her mouth agape, a somewhat panicked expression on her face.
"What?!" Hope smiled. So, she had Arty's attention. "Yeah, I know."
"The others, they don't…you didn't-"
"I haven't told anybody. The only others that know are Jaci and Randy."
"Jaci knows? Great." Artemis went back to notching arrows.
"She won't tell. You can trust her."
"Yeah right. She's violent. She's creepy. She has too many secrets."
"So don't you think she'll be able to keep yours?"
Artemis was silent.
"Look, Artemis….Jaci's not a bad person. She may seem like a really violent, really freaky and untrustworthy, secretive punk, but she isn't. Not at all. That's like her… her shell. Her protective coating. She has a hard time trusting people. She doesn't want anybody to know that she can be weak just like everybody else. And she's afraid. You know that she has two little siblings, and her mother is sick? Not only that, but she's scared that once everybody knows these things about her, nobody will talk to her, trust her, LOVE her. She's never had a boyfriend, you know that? She isn't doing this to spite you. It's real." She sighed. "You two have more in common than either of you believes."
"Well…I guess-" But whatever Artemis was going to say was cut off when both she and Hope got hit, hard, in the back of the head.
Artemis came to a while later, and ran back to the store, bursting in on everyone.
"Hope's gone!"
And, yes, I'm going to leave you with that horrible cliff hanger. Mwhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! I'll try to update again soon, but for now, that's all you get. Oh, one more thing, the version on Wattpad will be different than this, different authors and such. So go check it out! That's all for today folks! Later!
