Before you start reading, I just wanted to credit QUEENSPELLER67, since she read this chapter a few days before to help me fix any of the errors.

(Zane's p.o.v.)

"Hello, Pixal," I say slowly. Even though I've been looking at her for a few minutes, hopefully they don't notice. She was just something I never saw before. She is something…I can't explain.

"Now Zane, don't take this responsibility lightly. If you fail, I shall not hesitate to turn the both of you into scrap metal!" The Overlord barked.

"He's right. Anyways, you two should start to get situated on Pixal's training." Cyrus said, urging us out of the room. They really want this new army to get into action quickly if they want us to start this early.

As we walk down the hallway to the sparring court, Pixal makes no attempt to talk to me. I wonder what could be going in her head. To make it feel not as lonesome, I try to talk to her.

"So, are you ready to start your training this early?"

"Affirmative." That's all she says.

"How do you feel about that?"

"Zane, ninja of ice, I was not programmed to feel."

"But you-"

"We have arrived to our first destination." She says curtly.

Returning to my task at hand, I don't bother to continue the conversation and I begin to pull out some of the bags for basic self defense. I explain all the strikes, blocks, and fighting stances that I would be teaching her for today, and after she demonstrates perfectly what she has learned, I put the bags back and start to spar with her. Since this was her first lesson, I go easy like I would do with any of the other younger Stone Warriors; but twelve lessons with them was one lesson for her. I shouldn't be surprised, being an android and all. So I stop going easy on her. As I predicted, she became overwhelmed in a few minutes.

"How are you able to hit so fast and accurately?" She asked.

"Lots and lots of missions and training."

"I understand." she answered. Taking my chance, I knock her feet out from underneath her.

"Also, not slowing down. That's all for today." I say, offering her my hand and helping her up.

"Thank you, Zane. I shall return to my chambers now." She monotonously and started walking away. Before I knew what I was doing, I reached out to her hand.

"Wait!" I call out. She just looks back at me in her unfeeling stare. She doesn't deserve this.

"I wanted to say you did amazing today. Would you like to stay with me a little longer today?" I offer

"But Professor Borg has ordered me to continue my other work after I have finished."

"Don't worry, it's just a little longer. We still have time." I say. We proceeded this routine every day. The more time I spent with her, the less I felt like just a solider here. I know that I'm supposed to transform her into a killing machine, but I feel that that isn't her purpose. As the time we spent together went on, she slowly began to have some kind of real feelings.

Even though it may have only been no more than four weeks later, Pixal had already completed her basic training and was fulfilling the Overlord's purpose of leading the finally completed Android Army. I can tell you, the Overlord and Professor are proud of all that I had taught her. When she is giving out orders to other androids, she seems so merciless and unemotional. Yet when we both finished our tasks for the day, she was so lively being around me. Just speaking to her made me feel something other than evil. Any spare time we had, we spent together and I felt truly alive again with her, and I savored every second . Yes, we would often have to sneak around, because if we were caught, only God knows what the Overlord would do to us if he found out he was went behind his back. We were safe for the time. That is, until Cole spoke to me one night.

I had to guard the top floor of the Overlord's Fortress that night with Cole, and I was a little late because I was walking Pixal back to her chambers. Luckily, it was only the two of us guarding the top floor and I trusted Cole to keep this covered. Instead, he just looked over at me with an annoyed look on his face and said, "Where were you? You're late." He demanded to know

"I was just walking Commander Pixal back to her chambers," I told him the truth, but acted like it was nothing.

"Coming as late as it is, I don't think walking her back was the only thing you did in her chambers."

"And what is that suppose to me?" I said, a little offended.

"Well, it hasn't been a secret that you two have been spending time with each other, and I mean a lot." Cole pointed out.

"So? I'm just training her." I try to convince him.

"Yeah, 'training'. Zane, cut the crap I know you finished training Pixal and long time ago, and besides even if you guys were training, you guys are never in the sparring courtyard. So, I have reason to believe you two are getting close. And, from what I remember, getting close is one of the last things the Overlord wants from us. Especially from the higher ranks like you and I," Cole lectures me.

"Yes, I admit, Pixal and I are spending a large portion of our time together."

"And you're aware the Overlord, our Master, doesn't want that?" Cole reminds me.

"Yes, Cole. Very aware, but you're the only one who knows about Pixal and I, if anyone else knew they would have told on us already, and I don't think you would tell on me."

"Not necessarily."

"Cole! Did you…tell someone?!" For a moment I felt like everything was beginning to crumble beneath me.

"No, I didn't, but I can." Cole says with a smug grin growing on him face

"You want something," I blurt out

"That, you're right about."

"Alright, tell me so that I can do it and Pixal and I will be safe." I say very infuriated at this point of his harassment. Then, as if this was all my fault, he looks over at me in an anguished way and says,

Then, as if this was all my fault, he looks over at me in an anguished way and says,"You know, you weren't the only who taught someone other than you was special. Listen, buddy, I know how you feel toward Pixal. She's special, magnificent, strong, and someone who doesn't make you feel evil no matter what you two are doing. Heck, I've even noticed your purple eyes are fading and your skin isn't as pale as mine." He reveals more than I thought he could ever know.

My eyes widened with shock, and I say with a shaky voice, "H-how do you know all this?"

"Its because of Nya. Zane, I was in love with her. Madly in love with her. It drove me nuts that I could never find out if she even slightly felt the same. And what's even worse, even if she did we couldn't be anything because we would have been destroyed if anyone found out. But I still loved her. That is, until Jay took it all away from me. That traitor murdered her, and there was nothing I could have done!"

"Cole, please-" I say as his voice rises with every word and the tears forming in his eyes.

"Now, I can't even avenge her because the Overlord is scared and wants us to stay here and rot as his most skilled secret team that's falling apart!"

"Cole, I never knew-" I try to get him to understand

"Of course you didn't! It's because I followed orders and didn't disobey my master like you! I didn't let how I felt get in the way, because if I did, she would die and worst of all, I did everything, and she still ended up dead! Now, you deserve have love and I don't?! Without some form of justice?!"

"You want to me to help you find Jay and kill him, don't you?" I finally realize. I should have known, too. He has never been the same since the word of Nya's death was official.

"Yes, or else I make sure only Pixal gets it so you get to live with the burden, like me." Cole said with no remorse in his voice. I know he can be unforgiving when he became enraged, but I can tell at this point that he meant every word that he said.

"…Fine. When do we leave?" I agree.

"Immediately."

"But, I just can't leave Pixal in the dark about my disappearance! She deserves to know," I try to justify. Even if it was just to say good bye, I believe she still needed to know something.

"Too bad. At least she won't be dead." Cole said, not missing a beat. It was no use arguing with him anymore. If I continued and went too far, he would have canceled this whole thing and go straight to the Overlord, so it's best to stay on his good side.

As we leave our post and jump from rooftop to rooftop in the darkness of the night, I look back at the Fortress and stare. I look on solemnly, and worry for Pixal about so many things.
