I couldn't keep running, I had to stop. My head dropped and I gasped for air. This dark enchanting trench seemed to be to never ending... I just wanted out of it. Looking around I could see the crystals gleaming waiting to be mined. It was rather pretty... but now was not the time. I had to think and fast. There was no way of climbing the walls that barricaded in this trail and all I could do was sigh. Reaching into the pocket of my dirty skirt, I was hoping maybe there would be in answer in there but who was I kidding? All I could find was lint and a bottle cap to a potion I had just consumed moments before. Sweat trickled down my face, dripping to the ground. A tremendous roar from a distance startled me and I began to shake. Footsteps trembled the ground and I knew it was drawing near. 'What did I do to get myself in this mess?' I picked up my head, inhaled launching into a sprint once more. I held my hand out, running my fingers on the stone hoping to feel for an opening I could hide into.. Nothing. The trench seemed to be opening, I could see the pinkish blue sky in the near distance and I smiled. My pace quickened, closing my eyes it seemed all the stress I put myself into had disappeared. Sadly, that ended when I opened my eyes and came to a halt. I was trapped. The trench I've been running for what seemed to be miles turned to a steep cliff with no way out... but down. Pebbles scraped of the edge of this cliff and my toes were slightly hanging over. I felt my eye water... 'This can't be it.' I turned and looked back at the trench and the shadow of the monster grew larger, the footsteps echoing through my ears. I looked back out over the cliff. the wind picked up my dark raven hair and it flew freely. The fall was deep, it was as if I was peering into vast darkness. It is definitely lethal... and so is this monster.
I turned to face the beast and gulped. Towering over me its eyes kept me still. I scrunched my shoulders mustered all my courage and screamed, "I am not afraid of you!" 'You're the stupidest person I've ever met! Why would you say that to a monster?!' The monster bellowed and its breath blew me back closer to the edge. It raised its hand and slashed my torso and knocked me off. My eyes widened and everything seemed to slow as I fell. The pain rushed though me and my eyes began to leak. 'This is it...' There he was. The man who sent the monster after me...Dressed in black from head to toe. He lifted his hood, his eyes filled with success and revealed a full mane of -
"Xiomara!"
I grunted and covered my face with my pillow. 'Was it all just a dream? Why did that feel so real?' "What do you want Saix? Five more minutes."
I wish there was a rule of privacy here at this stupid castle. "You have another mission that you are to dispatch for in less than an hour. Get your happy ass up and get ready." I threw the pillow and watched to see if my aim was on point . Saix teleported a second before impact and was now at my bedside. "Listen, I know how badly you want to leave.. maybe this time around you'll be able to."
"What do you mean?" He ripped the blanket from me and shouted. "GET UP!"
With that, he disappeared from my sights. I scurried to my leggings embarrassed that Saix had just seen me in my undergarments. Within moments I had my attire on and stepped out to be debriefed on my mission. On the way down the hall, I couldn't help but become distracted by the words Saix said prior. 'Would I finally be able to get away? Would anyone try to stop me? What about Axel?'
My thoughts then channeled towards Axel. It was becoming more and more difficult to avoid him and even more difficult to not get closer. Since the last time I've seen him he had recovered from the burns I left on him from our battle. He must of used an elixir or something because No one has even brought up the fight. Must not want the other organization members to know that I, Xiomara, member XIV beat their beloved Axel. I felt a smile grow across my face. I looked up from my daydream and noticed I almost late to the meeting. I sprung into a sprint and darted down the hallway.
To my surprise, Once I stepped in the grey area, Axel's eyes caught mine. Normally I melt at the sight of him but this time I grew heavy. Maybe it was because this time around it was him to deny me. I managed a peek at him and looked away again. His eyes full of concern Saix nudged Axel to bring him back to reality. He turned to face Saix and waited for me to come forward. "Well now that Xio is here, Axel you are in charge today over the mission. You two are heading to Hallow Bastion to see what that good for nothing keyblade weilder is up to."
"Roxas?"
"Sora. Got it memorized. Roxas Is Sora's nobody. Sora is also someone very important I think you would like to meet."
Puzzled I scratched my head and just nodded. "Lead the way then."
Saix waved his arm and opened the portal to Hallow Bastion. 'Hollow Bastion? Why does that place sound so familiar?'
"Xiomara... you'll find out soon enough." Axel took a couple of steps ahead of me and turned back to face me. "Now, come on lets get going. I am supposed to meet Roxas after this."
I managed a nod and entered into the portal with Axel by my side. 'Our first mission together... Maybe this time we can really see who's magic is better. Maybe this time I can be rewarded for my hard work.'
When we crossed the void in the portal my eyes couldn't believe what they saw.
