CHAPTER SEVEN

Lucy threw the bouquet of flowers and the girls, except for Mira, Lisanna, Levy, Juvia and Erza, tried their best to get it but then the unexpected happen. Due to the force that the girls are doing just to get the bouquet, it split into 5 and landed on the 5 beautiful ladies that didn't want to get involved. Surprised at what happened, the five of them blushed at the meaning behind of what just happened. Getting the flowers that the bride threw after the wedding means that they will get married soon.

Lucy, seeing her friends who got the flowers thrown, wished them good luck that made the girl's face redder than Erza's hair.

After this, Gray carried Lucy, bridal style to her apartment without anyone noticing, due to the fact that everyone were interrogating the five girls that got the flowers, asking them whom they are going to marry, except for me that is, because I know whom it is they want. I nudged Natsu and told him that Gray and Lucy are escaping so we followed them. The others noticing it went with us.

So we followed them. We didn't try to sneak in the window or the chimney. We know that Lucy will get mad at us. So we decided to use the door. Mira and the others were holding pots which contained foods; we are going to surprise them. Well, this is another excuse for us to have another party, though this one will be held at Lucy's apartment. I wonder if everyone will fit inside? Hmmm.

"LUCY!" Natsu and I exclaimed after opening her bedroom door. The others went inside as well startling Gray and Lucy who were both lying on bed doing God-knows-what.

"Oh my!" Mira said and turned around. Everyone did the same except for me and Natsu. I didn't really understand it at first but as soon as I saw Gray and Lucy's flustered faces, I figured they're doing what newlyweds are supposed to do after the wedding.

"WHAT ARE YOU DOING IN MY APARTMENT?!"

..ooOoo..

They were always together, nothing can break them apart. But, Lucy is getting weaker and Gray exerted more effort in taking care of her. He doesn't want to waste any remaining time they have. With her first month gone, and only two left, what will happen?

Our team spent our time at Lucy's apartment when she asked something from Gray, "Can we go to Isvan?"

All our heads snapped at her. What is she thinking now? Isvan is far north and as far as I know, it's cold there!

"Why do you want to go there?" Gray asked, scrunching his face from confusion and suspicion.

"I just want to see where you grew up as a child." She said smiling.

"Yea Gray! I want to see it too!" Natsu said enthusiastically, agreeing with what Lucy suggested.

"No." Gray answered flatly which made Lucy and Natsu pout. "Why not?" the two of them whined.

"Yea, why not Gray?" Erza intervened, eyeing Gray while eating her cake.

"Because it'll not be good for Lucy's health. Besides I already told you guys that Isvan is destroyed by Deliora and I'm the only survivor so you won't see anything but fallen debris and broken houses." Gray answered as he took Lucy's plate and went to the kitchen and washed it.

"But I wanted to go! I want to see the place where you grew up!" Lucy countered, crossing her arms. Then we heard Gray audibly sighed. "Lucy, don't be so stubborn." He said as he went out of the kitchen.

"Please Gray? I promise I'll behave and will not do anything that will harm me!" Lucy said, doing a cross mark on her chest where her heart is located, making Gray sigh in defeat. "Fine."

I'm guessing he's cursing himself for being so vulnerable towards Lucy.

Natsu and Lucy celebrated. "But you'll do what I told you and no buts, promise?" Gray said, making his way to sit beside Lucy on her bed. The latter smiled warmly and nodded.

"Waah~! Is this Isvan? I thought it was destroyed?" Natsu said dumbly as we passed by a town near the city where the station is. Then again it was Natsu who we're talking about.

"No, Idiot. There are no stations in Isvan and so is this town. But we're almost there." Gray said. I could sense that he's been worrying about something. It must be Lucy but, also, it could possibly be because he doesn't want to go to Isvan again, where his parents died. Speaking of Lucy, she's been quiet this whole time, snuggling on Gray as he carried her on his back.

As we got to the city of Isvan, Natsu, Erza, Lucy and I went silent. We could not bring ourselves to even move an inch with what we saw. What Gray said, they were all true. Nothing was left of Isvan, it was erased from the face of earthland.

"Can we go now?" Gray suddenly said. Erza and Natsu looked away. They never once see Gray like this. As for Lucy, who witnessed how a guy like Gray would crumble just because of his shattering past, she smiled up at him and answered his question. "No."

Wait, what?

All heads turned to her beaming face— shock was evident on our faces. She pointed her pointing finger ahead and commanded Gray. "Now, off we go to where your house once stood! Hurry, I wanna see it~!" she said in a cheerful manner, lighting up the mood. But I know she was faking it. I know she, of all people, would be the one to understand what Gray feels. And I know she had a plan of why we went here.

Gray hesitated on whether to follow what Lucy said or just turn back and go home. I can see it through the expression he's giving.

"Come on, Gray~! Don't worry, this'll be my last request," Lucy said and kissed his cheek affectionately. I heard him sigh before we went our way again to where his previous home once stood. "For today, that is~!" Lucy said, continuing her statement, and chuckled when she saw how Gray pouted at her. Oh, boy.

Gray stopped and eyed longingly at the debris before us.

"So, this is it?" Lucy asked. Gray didn't answer and was drowned to his own world, must be reminiscing the past. Lucy understands him, we all do. And when she thought her question won't be answered, she hoped off Gray's back, without the latter noticing.

She went from the fragments of was once walls, to doors and windows, to chairs and tables, to pots and dishes, before going to where there are scattered books and frames under the fallen walls. Natsu noticed her and went to her side, asking what she was doing there. But all she did was smile and continue her actions. Confused, Natsu and Erza help her from lifting the rubbles and getting the things under it.

I went to Gray and saw him still looking sad, mind was still in trance. Looking back, I saw Lucy's face lit up before she put something inside her pockets and stood up. She smiled and thanked Natsu and Erza before going to where Gray is and tackled him into a hug.

"Gray~!" Gray's eyes widen. Shocked at the fact that Lucy wasn't on his back anymore and was hugging him lovingly.

"What were you doing?" he asked, noticing how mucky she looked.

"Oh, this?" she said, referring to her appearance. Lucy scratched her neck and giggled. "I was just…doing something."

"Didn't I tell you not to—"

Lucy cut him off with a wave of her hand and rummaged her pockets in search or something. She pushed her hand forward to Gray's face, holding something and was showing it to him. Gray was taken aback at first but as soon as his eyes landed on the thing that Lucy's holding to, a photo I say, his eyes widen in surprise.

His now trembling hands travelled upwards and slowly taking the photo from Lucy's hands. "W-where did you get this?" he whispered, obviously shocked.

"Well, I didn't really expect to find something here, but I then I thought 'why not try?' so I took the risk of coming here!" she said, triumphantly.

"Y-you wanted to go here just to get t-this photo?"

"Actually, I thought something like toys or cups would suffice," she said teasingly and chuckled "but I'm glad I found that~! I believe that photo is more important than anything h―"

We were all shocked when Gray suddenly pulled Lucy into a tight hug. He buried his head on her hair while keeping her on his arm as tightly as possible as if he would lose her if he ever let go.

"Baka, you don't have to do this." Gray muttered, his voice cracking. We couldn't see his face but I know everyone present could make out what and how Gray is feeling.

Lucy circled her arms around his torso and smiled. "The day we got married, I promised you I'll make you happy. This is just my way of making someone happy.

"I know how important your parents is to you, that's why I forced you to come here. Sorry for being inconsiderate. I know you don't want to be here. I guess I just want to at least do something before anything happen to me―"

"DON'T SAY THAT!" he bellowed, surprising us once again. He broke the hug and looked at Lucy. Our eyes widen with what we saw. Tears that Gray's been keeping from spilling presented themselves to us. I could tell that he's hurt by what Lucy said.

"Don't say that," he cried, "I don't want to think about anything bad happening to you."

"Gray…"

"Yes, I admit! I don't want to be here!" he said, gripping Lucy's tensed shoulders, "And I don't want to come back here! I don't fucking want to remember this place where both my parents were taken from me by that monster!"

His grip loosened as his tears kept on pouring. Gray hugged Lucy again, kissing her hair.

"Just thinking about it makes my heart clench. But the worst part is thinking about your condition at the same time. So please," he whispered and brought his hands on Lucy's face and, with a pained expression, looked straight into her eyes. "Please don't say that in front of me. I don't want to think about losing you, too."

"I…I'm so-sorry." Lucy cried. "I…I just want to see you happy."

"Baka. You being by my side is enough— more than enough to make me happy."

..ooOoo..
