The Demon's Source of Strength.

This is my first Eyeshield 21 story, so I hope it'll be a good experience for all of us! Before we start, I'd like to say that, I do not particularly like or dislike Mamori, but I am not shipping Hiruma with her in my story. This story does not center around the OC, it centers around Hiruma, however that being said, at times Alexia will be taking the spotlight. I do not own Eyesheild 21 or any of the associated characters. Only Alexia is mine!

Important note:

When the characters are talking, if I use italics, they are speaking in English, where as normally they are speaking in Japanese. When words are bold it's for emphasis.

If it's outside of talking, I may use either italics or bold to highlight a point, or to set aside a sentence as a thought.

Enjoy! Reviews, comments, suggestions, favorites, and follows mean the world to me! Thank you!

Chapter Seven

"I.." Hiruma watched as she struggled for words, her head bowing before her rambled out. "I-don't-want-to-stay-with-you."

Hiruma felt himself still as the words tumbled from her mouth. "Ha..?"

You have to let him go.

That was the only thought that echoed in her brain, the only force that held her up, besides Yoichi's arms. Ah, how she wished she could stay in his arms..

"I-don't-want-to-stay-with-you." Her heart hammered and she bit her lip as she squeezed her eyes shut.

"Ha..?" As he stilled, so did time or so it felt to Alexi. "I think I.. What did you say, Lexi..?"

"I think after we go to America.." She inhaled deeply as her nails clenched around the counter's edge. "We should split apart, it's been long enough, Yoichi."

Who'd save a worthless piece of trash like you kukuku..

It's alright now, he can't hurt you kekeke. You're safe with me..

She could hear the dark echoes of her past her ears as his grip tightened on her. "Lexi, nani.. Why.."

I don't want to be your weakness anymore.

The woman opened her eyes and steeled herself before turning around to face her savior, a small smile. "Hiruma Yoichi, we need to move forward. We just remind each other of.."

Hiruma flinched.

He couldn't argue with her, even if he was never reminded of that, at least when he saw her smiling or laughing. "You want us to move on..?"

He'd only wanted..

Well, he'd truthfully wanted a lot of things, but they all had one root: Alexia's happiness.

"You know we'll have to call every day." So as she cupped his cheeks in her slender fingers, he only smiled sadly back at her. "I'll nag you and you'll nag me, Cerberus will miss you."

She nodded to all of his complaints and he pretended like he didn't see the tears swimming in her eyes. "You'll probably go to college in America for football anyway, I'll have to move to where you are."

He shook his head, moving his hands from her waist for the first time in minutes to clutch at her fingers. "No, you'll go where you get into college."

Hiruma only kissed her palms as she stared in shock at him.

I won't taint you any further, nor will I let anyone else.

"Yoichi, you know I..-" He smiled, truly smiled and swept the hair that had come loose from her ponytail from her face.

"I know."

Meanwhile: With Sena

Sena wasn't normally a nosy person. It was just..

It was just.. "Sena? Is that you? Why are you calling out of the blue?"

A nervous laugh left Sena's mouth at the sound of Suzuna's voice before he rambled on about what he'd seen that day.

"Hmm.. Yoi-nii has a secret, huh?" Sena nodded and made a noise of confirmation after realizing that she couldn't see him. "Interesting.."

"So.." Sena looked back at the apartment complex behind him before starting his walk home. "Help me find out more?"

"Well.." Sena's heart nearly stopped before the girl laughed mischievously. "Why not, sounds like an adventure."

The Next Day: Airport (28 /40-50)

"Alexia-chan! Alexia-chan! I can't find my passport, can you help me?" Hiruma saluted Sena and grinned viciously as he went to clear customs.

He dumped his a part of his arsenal, thirty kilos of it according to this damn guard onto the floor, only receiving it back after a rather hefty tip. Not that he hadn't expected to pay that price.

"There it is!" He heard Sena exclaim after he pocketed his last switchblade.

He saw Alexia's tense posture relax as she began to repack Sena's bag, along with Mamori's 'help'. "A relief.."

Hiruma cleared his throat loudly as more of the team members passed customs, crossing his arms as she frowned at his interruption. He didn't say anything, just let Cerberus leave his side, much to the guards protests to go and collect her.

As the guard dog nosed his way into her arms, Mamori laughed softly, leaning toward the woman to whisper something he couldn't hear.

Hiruma's fingers twitched, but when Lexi finally stood and went through the process of clearing customs with a gentle smile, he found he couldn't be upset.

Ah, if only I could make that smile happen.

"Ready to board?" Hiruma nodded, taking her baggage and tossing his own to the pipsqueak as soon as he cleared.

"Let's enjoy this." Even if it was the last time..
