Flinky: Hello world. It's Flinky
Red: I looked into this one, and it's pretty fun.
Flinky: I wanted to mention that I recently watched Fast and the Furious 7, so expect some fun fight scenes in later chapters.
Red: *smirks*
Flinky: One more thing. I don't think I've asked before, but I would love reviews. I don't care if it's negative as long as you give me a reason. With that being said, enjoy.
It's been an hour since Poké Underground split up. We were walking to Pewter Tower, but the route was long. We had to completely avoid Viridian City because it has the most Rockets out of all of Kanto (and very likely the world). We would be found within seconds of entering the city.
The detour around Viridian was still not much compared to the hike through Viridian Forest. It would be easier if Blue and Leaf stopped complaining.
"My feet hurt."
"My hair is messed up."
"Leaf, you wear a hat. It shouldn't matter. When Michael has a problem, then we will stop."
"Easy for you to say."
When I was walking I noticed a Caterpie on the ground.
"Anyone mind if I try to catch it?"
Michael said, "I'm fine."
"Me too."
"You would want a weak Pokémon like that."
"Ok then. Go, Eevee!"
Eevee came out of his ball.
Michael looked like I just made his day.
"You have an Eevee too? Maybe he could meet mine."
"After the battle. Now, Caterpie, I challenge you to a battle!"
It looked at me.
"Okay, Eevee, use Tackle."
He charged at it and scored a clean hit.
"Pokéball, go!"
It sucked up Caterpie and wobbled three times before the receiving click.
"Alright! I caught a Caterpie!"
"Eevee eev!"
"Go, Caterpie!"
I sent her out.
"Alright. First off, I'm Red. I nickname almost all of my Pokémon, so do you have any preferences?"
She nodded, and drew a rough picture of a Butterfree in the dirt.
"You want to be named like a Butterfree?"
She nodded.
"Alright. Hmm ... How about Glow?"
After some thinking, she nodded.
"Okay. From here on out, your name is Glow! Welcome to the team!"
I called her back.
"Now, Michael, you said you wanted our Eevees to meet."
"Oh, yea. Come on out, Eevee."
Michael's Eevee walked over to mine. They started talking, and their discussion turned into an argument. Michael's Eevee walked away, and used Quick Attack on mine.
"Hey, break it up you two."
They ignored Michael's warning and began fighting. They looked somewhat evenly matched, so it took a while for them to come close to injury.
"Are you guys done?"
Just as I asked that, they both began glowing. They were evolving!
My Eevee evolved into an Umbreon while Michael's became an Espeon.
"Alright Eevee, you evolved!"
"Umbreon on," he said happily.
"You did too!"
"Espeon on."
"Wow, a capture and an evolution? I'm on a roll!" I said.
Blue, never one to let me enjoy myself, muttered "It was just luck."
"Keep telling yourself that. Now, Umbreon, you said you wanted a nickname when you evolved. How about...Blacklight?"
He considered it for a second before nodding.
"Okay then. From here on out, you're known as Blacklight!"
"Umbreon on."
"When you two are done, we have to make it to Pewter."
"Fair point, although, it's starting to get late. I think we need to set up camp for the night."
"Okay."
"Now, let me call the other groups to check on them..."
I fiddled with my Pokégear until I had a three-way call with May and Gold.
"Hey guys. How are you doing?"
"Great!" said May, as enthusiastic as always.
"Pretty good. It turns out Kris is a science whiz, and was able to make an app for Pokégear that will put up a temporary invisible field. She's still working on a Pokénav port, but Red's team can still use it."
"Oh well. Tell me when it's ready."
"Will do. Anyways, Red, just tap the button on your Pokégear to install the app."
"Hmm ... How does it work?" asked Michael, curious.
"Oh, it uses sound waves emitted from the Pokégear to bend light."
"Sound waves can't do that unless it's extremely loud, and by that point the grunts will be attracted to the noise."
"Uhh..."
I put on the glasses that allow me to check if someone was brainwashed.
I scanned Gold's voice and it came back positive. Gold was brainwashed!
I also scanned May, but she was safe.
"So Gold, how is Giovanni treating you?"
"What-why would you ask that?"
"Because the glasses that YOU gave me say that Team Rocket brainwashed you."
"They must have a problem."
"I bet that the app that you tried to get me to install was a bug or tracker so they will know where we are going."
"Ugh...Giovanni will not be happy."
"May, you heard?"
"Yea. I really wish it didn't come to this, but Gold, goodbye."
I cut out Gold from our call.
"I can't believe it. Gold was with us from the very start. He is the second oldest member, right behind Red who most of us barely knew."
May eyes started watering, then she started crying.
"Remember, it's Team Rocket's fault. They did this, so we have to fight back."
"Just, Gold was one of my closest friends and now this happened."
"How strong was he?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Before he was brainwashed, he told us that beating someone in a Pokémon battle would free them."
"You will have to get much stronger. Gold was the only person who could beat Red."
"Then we'll just have to get stronger, right?"
"Yea. You're right. Breaking down won't do anything."
"Okay, May. Something we should talk about. Don't tell us your location in case Team Rocket gets to us. Then, we will have to run. Got it?"
"Alrighty. Anything else?"
"Nope."
"Goodbye."
May hung up. I walked over to Leaf and Blue who were setting up camp.
"Hey, I got bad news. Team Rocket got to Gold."
"Wait, really?"
"Yep. Sorry."
"Ugh...it's okay. Nothing we can do about it now."
"But we can."
"Huh?"
"Gold would've fought to the very end to save the world from Team Rocket. He wouldn't of stopped, so why should we? Keep fighting till our last breath. So what if we die miserably? So what if we go down? We go down with honor, pride, and dignity. They want us to surrender. If we listen to them, we die because we don't do anything. We have to keep going. Don't stop until Team Rocket is completely obliterated. That is what we have to do. That's what Red would want us to do. That's what Gold would want us to do. Now is no time for us to quit. Now, we go twice as hard, to avenge them. WE WILL TAKE DOWN TEAM ROCKET!"
Leaf and Michael started clapping. Blue looked at me with slightly less disdain than normal.
"You go!"
It took me a while to realize that Omni was speaking to me.
"Now, we still have to camp out for the night. I have a feeling that Gold told the Rockets about going for Pewter Tower, so we will have to go to the next spot."
Michael thought for a while before saying "But they will expect us to do that. They wouldn't think that we would go to a place we would be most expected."
"That's a good idea. If you think we should go to Pewter Tower, raise your hand."
Everyone's hand shot up (even Blue).
"Okay. We are heading for Pewter City."
The night went smoothly after that. We set up camp, had Ignite light a fire, and crashed.
"Red...I'm...in...Viridian...Giovanni..."
"Who are you? What are you?"
"..."
"DAMNIT! JUST TELL ME WHO YOU ARE!"
I woke up to the sound of some Pidgeys flying overhead.
"Ugh. Who was that? He said something about Giovanni, but what?"
I looked around and saw everyone else was still sleeping. I snuck off to talk with Omni.
"Go, Omni!"
"Hi Red. Want to play?"
"Sorry. Not now. We have to talk."
"About what?"
"I don't think I can keep you for much longer without telling the others about who you really are. There are only three others and I completely trust them."
"Hmm ... Okay! Maybe someone there will want to play with me!"
"Can you take anything seriously?"
"Nope."
"Even if Team Rocket took your DNA and cloned it making a Pokémon with extreme powers?"
"That'll never happen."
"It was just an example."
"Very specific. Almost like your foreshadowing something later in the story."
"What?"
"Come back to me when you understand how to break the fourth wall."
"Whatever. Now, let's head back."
"Actually, no. You said you would play with me, and this is the perfect time."
"Fine. What do you have in mind?"
"Try to get me!"
Mew floated off and I ran after her.
"I'll never get her at this rate. Go, Blacklight!"
My Umbreon came out of her Pokéball.
"Did you learn Faint Attack when you evolved?"
He nodded.
"Okay. Use it on Mew!"
He ran up and struck Mew. It didn't do much damage though…
"This is unfair to you. I know!"
Mew turned around and fired a beam at me. It hit me but didn't hurt that much. I did feel kinda off-balance. I had to fall forward, but it felt natural to be on my arms and legs at the same time. I looked down and saw brown fur where my body was. I was transforming!
When the transformation was finished, I was an Entei.
"Now, you can chase me!"
Honestly, I would be furious if I was transformed into a Pokémon on a regular day, but the past couple days have been stressful. Also, I'm a legendary! How often does this happen? Well, if I want to play with Mew then it could be every day, but whatever. I'll have some fun!
I chased around Mew for a while. There were no grunts out so it was easier on both of us. After a little while, Mew turned me back and we went to the rest of the group.
Flinky: There it is. Next chapter is really fun, so stay tuned.
Red: What is it?
Flinky: No spoilers.
Red: =(
Flinky: Now, have an amazing day (or evening, depending on when your read this).
