Hey-o it's been a while since I updated this, sorry.
I meant to update this yesterday but my mom took away my laptop…..
This chapter is officially dedicated to my sister because….well you'll have to see won't you?
I don't own Percy and Co. Peoples; otherwise Nico would not have gone through Tartarus.
Edit: Edited :P
Things I'll Never Say: Drops of Jupiter
I walked through the forest, the cool air and faint sounds of the monsters and or other animals giving me room to push aside my earlier depressing thoughts.
I heard faint sniffling as I walked past a tree and turned to see Christina leaning against it.
"Christie?" I said lightly, trying not to startle her,
I slowly moved toward her.
She stiffened and turned around quickly, unsheathing one of her knives.
"Oh," she sighed turning back around and deflating "Hi Annika,"
She slowly slid down the tree, further musing her already messy curls.
"Are you going to be okay?" I asked lightly
"Well, he said that he did love me and Diane was a thing of the past, but I've also learned to read people, and my readings suggested that, he was not being entirely truthful, so who do I trust? My judgment, or my boyfriend's word?" she asked frantically.
"Well…" I said thinking
"I think you should trust both," I said finally
"What? How?" she asked "They are completely contradictory!"
"Well, you can go with your judgment and know he's lying, but you can also trust his word when he says that he's over it, I have known him longer than anyone, except maybe Jade, but I know that he wouldn't lie to protect someone, he's too honest. If what he was saying felt off it might have been something else," I said quietly
"Okay…" she said skeptically
"Think about it" I said
"Thank you, I appreciate your honest opinion," she smiled
I set off deeper into the forest; I wasn't all that worried about the monsters, I could defend myself just fine.
Then I heard a rustling in the bushes. I quietly crept forward, enlarging my sword.
You see, my weapon is two stygian iron charm bracelets that won't come off of my wrists, and they have any weapon I might need, from a gun, to a sword, to a Greek fire grenade.
Anyways, I crept towards the bushes and peeked through.
Jayden sat on the other side, head in his hands and my heart sped up a bit and my palms got a bit sweaty.
Worthless girl, who would want you?
Shut up I thought
"What if she doesn't like it?" he mumbled reaching down to grip the grass tightly. I hoped that no nature nymphs were around to kill him for that.
"She will like it, I know she will," he responded to himself tapping his fingers against his head.
"Okay, it's go time," he said, standing up and taking a deep breath.
I waited until he had passed my hiding spot to race after him as quietly as possible. I didn't dare to hope that he would sing for me. I didn't want to be disappointed again.
"Next up is Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano!" announced Jade amid applause.
The Romans and Greeks had been intermingling ever since the war with Gaea had ended in peace.
Of course Octavian hadn't been around to muck anything up, but it was honestly working very well so far.
Reyna looked as impassive and queen like as ever. However, I knew that she was fairly good friends with my brother due to their quest with the Athena Parthenos.
We got on pretty well I guess, but she was still a mystery because she could hide her emotions better than anyone I'd ever met.
"This one is for Jason Grace," she said coldly
Jason looked confused, cocking his head to the side like a puppy and Piper looked uncomfortable, shifting in her seat and tugging on her braids.
Now he's back in the atmosphere
With drops of Jupiter in his hair, hey, hey, hey
He acts like summer and walks like rain
Reminds me that there's a time to change, hey, hey, hey
Since the return from his stay on the moon
He listens like spring and he talks like June, hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey
But tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?
Tell me, did you fall for a shooting star–
One without a permanent scar?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?
You know, minus that fact that he didn't even remember you existed, but sure. I could understand where she was coming from. A good group of friends enters a new twist and then suddenly you aren't good enough anymore.
Now that he's back from that soul vacation
Tracing his way through the constellation, hey, hey, hey (mmm)
He checks out Mozart while he does tae-bo
Reminds me that there's room to grow, hey, hey, hey (yeah)
Now he's back in the atmosphere
I'm afraid that he might think of me as plain old Jane
Told a story about a man who was too afraid to fly so he never did land
Did Reyna just call him an air head? I almost laughed at that, but figured no one would appreciate it.
But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back to the Milky Way?
And tell me, did Venus blow your mind?
Was it everything you wanted to find?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself out there?
Venus did most definitely blow his mind. I wonder if Jason ever feels bad that he's flaunting their relationship in Reyna's face, or if he even knows of her feelings for him.
Can you imagine no love, pride, deep-fried chicken?
Your best friend always sticking up for you even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance, five-hour phone conversation?
The best soy latte that you ever had and me
I suppose if anyone really truly knew Jason it would be Reyna, having worked closely for years before their separation. But I was curious, was this Jason the same as the old Jason that Reyna was in love with?
But tell me, did the wind sweep you off your feet?
Did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day
And head back toward the Milky Way?
And tell me, did you sail across the sun?
Did you make it to the Milky Way to see the lights all faded
And that heaven is overrated?
And tell me, did you fall for a shooting star,
One without a permanent scar?
And did you miss me while you were looking for yourself?
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,
And did you finally get the chance to dance along the light of day?
Na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na, na,
And did you fall for a shooting star, fall for a shooting star?
Na na na na na na na na na na na na na na
And now you're lonely looking for yourself out there.
"Jason Grace, I hope we can still be great friends, like we used to be, but if you can't do it, I release you." Said Reyna bravely
She closed her eyes and took a deep breath,
When she opened her eyes she plastered a smile on her face, but even if I hadn't been able to read her much, it was obvious to anyone with eyes that she was faking it hard.
Jason just stared at her for a bit at a loss for words.
Reyna sighed and walked off the stage. As she passed me I nodded at her, hoping my eyes communicated my feelings.
She nodded back and she looked at me intensely so I suppose she understood.
"Hey, have you seen Christie?" a voice behind me said
I turned to see Chris nervously wringing his hands and shifting back and forth on his feet. He was pale and shaky and I wondered if he had been crying.
"Yes, in the forest," I said slowly, judging his reaction.
He turned to go, but I wasn't done yet.
"Chris, I honestly hope you aren't lying to her, I know you better than a lot of people and I can tell when you're holding something back, but she is still a human being not a mindless material girl and you must treat her as such, understood?" I said as kindly as I could without holding back the firmness in my voice.
He nodded slowly
"That's another reason why I need Christie, to understand all your complicated words better," he said smiling weakly at his own joke.
He walked away as Jade announced the next name.
"Next up is Annabeth Chase!" she grinned at the crowd as if waiting for us to understand her hidden meaning.
Oh dear, no good had ever come from Jade's I know more than you do smiles.
There's the next Chapter.
I don't own Drops of Jupiter by Train.
Sorry I haven't updated in a while.
I couldn't decide whether to put her finding Christina or Jayden so I put both, and I had to add some form of singing so there you go.
