Rated MA for language, violence, and sexual content (yes, there will eventually be hot lesbian sex, but also a plot and a story)

This is a lesbian fanfiction people, if you don't like it, don't read.

Disclaimer: If I owned the Teen Titans, I'd be a whole lot richer. As it is, if you sue me, I'll laugh and help you look for money. But in all seriousness, I do not own these characters, DC, Cartoon Network, or any of that jazz.

First time actually posting a fanfiction so please be nice, but I seriously would love feedback!

This chapter is pretty short but I hope I make up for it with finally getting some sparkage between our girls! :D

Chapter 7

Jinx joined in after several repetitions, her voice less steady than Raven's, but just as sure. Raven slid easily into the familiar calm of meditation, letting it focus her powers and contain her thoughts and emotions. She spent at least 15 minutes in this state, waiting until she could feel Jinx begin to relax and slip into a similar mindset. The 'hum' they both felt had become stronger, but more soothing, almost as if it was balancing their energies. Knowing that it was now or never, Raven reached out tentatively to Jinx's mind with her own.

She began slowly, channeling feelings rather than words. Jinx's hands tightened their grip on Raven's but didn't pull away. Raven began running her thumbs over the backs of Jinx's hands soothingly and focused on sending calm and reassurance through the connection. Soon she felt Jinx's emotions cautiously reaching back. In her mind's eye, Raven could see their auras entwining slowly and was relieved when Jinx's remained strong and distinguishable from her own. Deciding it would be best to let Jinx initiate the next level of connection, Raven waited patiently, repeating her mantra steadily with Jinx and continuing to send soft waves of emotion.

'Raven?' The echoing call finally drifted into Raven's thoughts.

'Yes, Jinx.' She sent the reply gently, knowing that hearing another's voice in your mind for the first time was nothing short of shocking.

Jinx's grip tightened once again but the emotion that was sent was relief rather than fear.

'This is trippy as hell.' She said.

Raven's chuckle sounded even more melodic in Jinx's mind than it did out loud.

'That's definitely one way to put it.' She agreed.

'So what happens now?'

'I'm going to test the strength of the connection against distance; mental distance, that is. If it stays this strong, I'm certain we'll be able to achieve some form of communication when I move between dimensions.' Raven explained.

'Anything specific I need to do?' Jinx asked.

'Focus on my energy, my aura. You should be able to see yours, mine will be with it.' Raven instructed.

Jinx didn't have a clue how to even begin to see her aura, but rather than question Raven, she focused more strongly on her. Remembering her promise, she also tried to focus on her own energy as well. For another ten minutes, all she could 'see' was the black inside of her eyelids. Just as she was about to consider giving up, she suddenly saw a soft pink glow deep within her mind. As it slowly came more into focus, she saw tendrils of pink energy reaching out and twisting as though wrapping around something. While allowing her own aura to fil her vision, Jinx reached out to Raven with her emotions again. Suddenly, her vision filled with waves of purple energy. It surrounded her aura and with a moment of panic, Jinx felt her own energy slipping away as she was filled with Raven's.

'Raven!' She called out frantically.

'Ssh… Jinx, you're ok. Stay with me.' Raven replied calmly.

'I can't see my own aura, it's all yours! It's-'

'Jinx, it's there, it's bonded with mine, not overpowered by it. Just breathe, relax. Focus on the combining of our energy.'

Jinx allowed Raven's voice to calm her. She focused on the purple energy and allowed herself to pull away slightly. Immediately, the waves of pink returned and rather than being consumed by the purple like she originally thoughts, Jinx saw that her and Raven's auras were weaving together, tendrils of energy entwining in what could only be described as a dance. Though she knew this vision was all in her head, Jinx had never seen anything more beautiful.

'Raven, it's-'

'I know.' Said Raven, reverently. 'I-I've never seen my aura accept anyone else's like this…' She whispered.

Jinx didn't know how to respond to that. She continued to watch mesmerized as her energy caressed Raven's in sync with the reassuring emotions she was focusing on sending to the empath.

'Now,' Said Raven, bringing Jinx out of her trance-like fascination. 'I'm going to begin reaching my mind outside of the tower. Just stay focused on our energies and wait for me to try and speak to you.'

'Ok.' Jinx replied nervously.

'Here goes nothing.' Raven said.

Raven allowed her consciousness to leave her body. She hadn't even made it outside her room, however, when she felt a frantic tug pull her back.

'Jinx, it's ok, you can let me go. Just stay focused on seeing our connection, it's not going away. Even if it feels like I'm leaving, my aura is still with yours.' Raven explained patiently.

'Sorry, I sort of panicked.' Jinx replied sheepishly.

Raven imagined herself hugging Jinx and was pleasantly surprised when her aura wrapped around Jinx's in an embrace.

'I won't go far.' She promised.

This time she met no resistance when she sent her mind outside of the Tower. She could still feel Jinx's presence with her strongly and hoped that Jinx could feel the same. She moved slowly, focusing on sending her energy back to Jinx. Relief flooded her when she felt the energy Jinx was sending back to her.

Raven pushed her mind further, traveling across the water to the main part of Jump Cit. Deciding familiarity would be the best chance, she imagined the park she and Jinx had visited and watched it materialize in front of her. She could still feel the steady flow of energy from Jinx, but sensed that the sorceress was worried by the distance.

'Jinx, are you still with me?' Raven asked.

She felt Jinx's surprise and relief but received no verbal response.

'Don't think about the distance.' Raven instructed, 'Just keep looking at my aura and talk to me exactly like you did before.'

She waited several long moments, feeling Jinx's frustration growing. She was just about to advise Jinx to calm down and be patient with herself when-

'-Piece of shit, Jinx! Raven needs you and needs you to be able to do this so just fucking focus and-'

'Um, Jinx?' Raven interrupted, trying hard not to laugh.

There was a pause.

'…You could hear that, huh?'

'Just caught the poetic end.' Raven teased.

'I have a way with words.' Jinx replied.

Raven chuckled and sensed Jinx's pleased grin.

'Ok, I'm coming back now.' She said, before allowing herself to relax and her mind to settle back into her body.

Both girls opened their eyes and stopped chanting. They were even more in tune with each other now than they had been before their meditation. Jinx looked down and their joined hands and nearly gasped when she felt hers and Raven's heart rate match perfectly and increase. She looked back up into wide, purple eyes that had darkened slightly. She subconsciously licked her lips as Raven's cheeks flushed. Jinx released one of Raven's hands to reach up and lightly brush her warm cheek, the mage's breath hitching at the contact. Her eyes moved to Jinx's now slightly parted lips and she found herself leaning more into the hand that was now gently cupping her jaw. They could both still sense their aura's wrapping around each other, growing brighter and brighter as they grew closer together. Raven brought her own hand up to cover Jinx's and sighed into the contact.

"Raven…" Jinx whispered.

The sudden, loud knocking at Raven's door caused both girls to jump and jerk away from each other. Raven stumbled to her feet and ran to the door, opening it to reveal a grinning Cyborg.

"Hey, just wanted to know what you ladies want for lunch. Starfire is picking up Chinese. I didn't hear anymore chanting so I figured Y'all were finished."

He paused to take in Raven's flustered appearance and Jinx's disappointed scowl.

"You were finished, right? Damn, I'm sorry! I totally interrupted!" He exclaimed.

"No, Cyborg, it's fine. We were finished. Just feeling a little drained, so food would be great." Raven replied quickly, brushing her hair away from her face that was still tingling from Jinx's touch.

She turned and addressed Jinx without actually looking at her.

"Let's go eat and then after we'll prepare for me to go to Azarath." Raven said.

"Raven, wait-" Jinx began to protest, but Raven was already walking away down the hall, followed by a now confused Cyborg.

"God damn it!" Jinx swore at herself before sliding off Raven's bed and following after the Titans.

When Starfire had returned with their meals, the Titans and Jinx sat around the living room eating in uncommon silence. Jinx was perched on the arm of the couch trying unsuccessfully to make eye contact with Raven, who had been very pointedly avoiding her since they'd left Raven's room. Jinx felt her frustration at the mage growing. She wasn't exactly sure what had or almost had transpired before, but the situation at hand was too serious and too important for either of them to jeopardize their plan. Jinx knew Raven thought the same but was obviously having a harder time forgetting whatever had happened between them. Not that Jinx had forgotten or wanted Raven to forget. Suddenly flushing at the memory, Jinx slid off the couch and headed for the door. She knew without looking that Raven had gotten up to follow her and couldn't help sighing with relief.

Neither girl spoke until they were back in Raven's room.

"I'm sorry." Raven said.

It certainly wasn't what Jinx had expected to hear and before she could recover from her surprise, Raven continued.

"I shouldn't be ignoring you. It's childish of me. Our connection is… intense, unfamiliar. And it startled me."

"Raven, it's ok. You don't have to apologize. I-"

"We still don't know how or why this connection happened, so while I believe we should use it to our advantage, it's important we don't read too much into it, and especially not let it manipulate our thoughts and emotions."

Raven could practically see her words slap Jinx in the face. She fought to keep her expression neutral, even as she watched the hurt in Jinx's eyes. She couldn't afford to believe that whatever had happened between them was anything more than a side effect of their meditation session. That just made things far too complicate and far too confusing. Yes, they had formed what could be considered a friendship in the last couple of days, but Jinx was still a villain and she a hero. Even if that weren't the case, they barely knew each other. The connection that had formed between them was immensely strong, but caused by unknown magic, and therefore couldn't entirely be trusted.

"Oh, ok. Right." Jinx finally replied, looking away from Raven.

Fighting every urge that screamed at her to pull Jinx into her arms, Raven simply nodded before turning towards the door again.

"Let's tell the others we're ready for me to go." She said quietly.
