Joseph, could you get that?' Benny called as she heard someone knocking. 'Joseph' She called again before she remembered he was recharging. Grumbling, she climbed out of bed and struggled to the door. Opening it, she saw no one outside.
'Strange.' She muttered. Looking down, she spotted a box on her front mat. Whoever put it there had left, which meant it was either a good surprise or a bad one.
Benny carried the box to the coffee table and set it down. She leapt back as she flipped the lid off, in case it was a nasty surprise.
She slowly edged over and peered inside when nothing happened. It was a candy cane.
The card wasn't signed. It simply read. 'Merry Christmas, Benny.'
Benny popped it in her mouth. 'Mmmmm. Whisky flavored.'
