Cecil wasn't sure why he listened to Kevin's show, it had never brought him any happiness before and this morning's addition had only made him feel worse. Carlos hated him, and he was not only dating Kevin, but actually living with the man. Of all the people he could have used as a rebound, Kevin was the worst. He couldn't stop himself from thinking about the two of them, though he couldn't stand the thought of Kevin touching his Carlos.
Cecil decided he couldn't dwell on it anymore. It wouldn't change anything, and it would only make him feel worse. He wanted Carlos back, but he had no idea how to accomplish that. He supposed he should start with getting Carlos to speak to him, but even that seemed impossible. In the two weeks since Carlos' return the only way Cecil could hear Carlos' voice was over the radio or through his voicemail.
Cecil looked at his phone, Earl would be around to pick him up soon. Cecil was so glad he had Earl, he'd never be able to move past this without his friendship. He wondered what Earl had planned for tonight, he hoped it wasn't anything too fancy because while the bright green tunic he was wearing was nice, it wasn't very formal. And his bedazzled pants would be extremely inappropriate at a fancy restaurant, though they made his ass look fantastic. Cecil checked his hair one last time, even if he was a wreck on the inside he couldn't stand to be anything less than fabulous on the outside.
Just then there was a knock at the door, and Cecil rushed to open it, instantly smiling when he saw his friend. Earl was wearing faded jeans and a tight button-down that showed off his abs. He also had a bouquet of live snapdragons, which were Cecil's favorite venomous flowers.
"Oh Earl, you didn't have to get me flowers," Cecil said, though he couldn't stop grinning.
"I thought they'd make you happy," Earl said. Cecil went into the kitchen to get a vase, and then filled it with water and arsenic to keep the flowers fresh.
"You're so thoughtful," Cecil said, "So where are we going tonight?"
"It's a surprise," Earl said, holding up a cloth blindfold and grinning.
As Earl tied the blindfold around his head, Cecil decided that it was time for him to move on. He couldn't let one breakup ruin his life, especially when there was no chance of ever making things right again. Earl led Cecil out of the apartment and into his truck, and Cecil realized that he was ready to fall in love again.

Cecil asked questions the entire drive, trying to figure out where Earl was taking him. Earl had kept silent though, and eventually Cecil gave up and began pouting. Earl was bursting with excitement when they got to the mesa, and though it would be a challenge to get Cecil there Earl knew the view was worth it. Plus they wouldn't have to worry about being interrupted by anyone from town.
Earl stopped Cecil and spun him around so that the first thing he saw would be the sun setting against the horizon. He undid the blindfold and was rewarded with a small gasp from Cecil.
"This is so amazing," Cecil said, "How did you find this place?"
"I do a lot of hiking," Earl said, turning Cecil around again to face the picnic he had prepared for them, "Ready to eat?"
Cecil's stomach growled in response, and the smile he gave Earl was one that he hadn't seen since they were just kids, "You really went all out tonight didn't you?"
The two sat on the blanket and Earl began unpacking his picnic basket, "I just wanted tonight to be perfect. I hope it's not too much."
Cecil cupped his cheek and locked eyes with him, "It's perfect Earl. I really appreciate everything you do for me."
Earl blushed again, he didn't know what to say, so he pulled out the wine instead, "I'm glad you like it."
Once they started eating everything got easier, Earl's predate jitters had faded away and he was able to slip into the simple state of just being with Cecil. At first they just made small talk, talking about family and work, but as the night wore on and they opened the second bottle of wine their conversation dwindled and they simply cuddled on the blanket and watched the void beyond the stars above their heads.
"I'm glad we got to do this," Cecil said, resting his head in the crook of Earl's neck.
"Me too," Earl said, "It's been too long since we got to spend time together outside of work."
Cecil smiled, "We'll have to make this sort of thing a more regular occurrence."
Cecil started tracing patterns on Earl's chest, nothing specific, but it felt nice. He pulled the radio host closer to him, then kissed him. Cecil kissed back, and the two shifted so that Earl was lying on top of Cecil. Earl slipped his hand under Cecil's tunic and began tugging on the hem, silently asking for permission to remove it. Cecil moaned into the kiss, and Earl smirked to himself before pulling the tunic off.
Cecil began toying with the buttons on Earl's shirt, then undid them completely. Earl shrugged out of the shirt and tossed it aside, then set to work trailing kisses all along Cecil's body. Cecil moaned and tugged on Earl's hair, and Earl moved his head further south and began undoing Cecil's belt in response. Earl pushed Cecil's pants down just enough to reveal the lavender boxers beneath. Cecil moved to remove Earl's pants as well, but stopped when Earl pulled out Cecil's erect cock and began swirling his tongue around the tip.
Earl pushed his head down until his lips met with Cecil's hips, Cecil moaned and threw back his head in ecstasy. Earl bobbed his head up and down, just enjoying the sounds Cecil made in response. He could tell that Cecil was getting close to climaxing, but Earl had a few more things he wanted to do before that so he released Cecil's cock and pressed a kiss to his lips before he could protest.
Earl deftly removed his own jeans, then carefully flipped Cecil onto his stomach and began sucking on his collarbone. Cecil moaned again as Earl entered him, and he continued to moan as Earl began fucking him.

Cecil woke up with the best pillow he'd ever had, though on the hardest bed he'd ever felt. It was weird really, the bed was as hard as a rock, and the pillow felt a bit like it was breathing. Cecil didn't want to wake up though, he was very tired and a little sore, what had he done last night?
He tried to focus, but his brain was useless in the mornings. He needed coffee before he would be able to remember anything. He groaned and moved to get up, but something, no someone, was holding him in place.
"Morning sleepy head," whispered a familiar voice.
"Earl?" Cecil yawned, "Where are we?"
"Up on the mesa," Earl said, "We had a picnic and then I fucked you senseless. Surely you remember?"
"It's too early for remembering," Cecil said, curling closer to Earl in an attempt to hide from the rising sun.
Earl chuckled, "Well then we better get you some coffee, we both have work today."
Cecil groaned and Earl laughed again, gently pulling Cecil to his feet and down to the truck.
