Four POV
The first day of training went well. But he had the feeling Alicia was claiming him. He wanted to interact with the other Careers, especially with Kirsten. Her wavy red hair when she ran. She is also strong. He saw her with the sword and was impressed, just as all the other Careers, except Alicia, who hated that girl.
He woke up the next morning with a weird feeling. He didn't felt well. But he had to train, he couldn't afford to look weak. The Careers will ditch him. And he wanted to be with Kirsten. Because of him she could join their pack.
He walked to the shower and turned it on. District 2 had almost the same showers, these had only a few more options like different shampoos. He heard the door opening and Alicia walked in. She had heard he went to the shower and probably she was going to join him.
He washed his hair and cleaned himself as quick as possible. He was had just wrapped his towel around his hips when Alicia stepped in the shower, naked. She had a pretty body, she always had. That's why he loved her. 'Are you already going, dear?' she whispered and stepped closer to him.
He shivered when he felt her cool breath on his skin. 'My love… You were just too late.' He kissed her with a grin on his face. 'But I promise you, tomorrow we shower together.' Alicia grabbed his waist and he couldn't walk away now. It would be too obvious he didn't like her anymore. These games were… changing her.
Alicia kissed his chest and nibbled his neck. He moaned a bit. 'Ali, I have to get ready. I asked Enobaria if she could train with me before the group training.' She had a furious look in her eyes. 'Training? WITHOUT me?! If you want it to play like this!'
'Calm down, Ali. We are only talk about the other tributes. Their specialities and how to kill them.' She really thought she owns him. He was from no one! 'Fine. If that makes you happy.' She pushed him out the shower and closes the door with a slam.
He pulled his clothes on. He knew Kirsten would wear blue and black, so he decided to annoy her by wearing blue and black too. After he had changed his clothes he walked to the living room, where Enobaria was waiting for him. 'You're late Four.' He sighed and sat down on the couch. 'Alicia came in the shower. That was the door you probably heard.'
'So Four, you wanted to discuss battle strategies?' ' I thought it could be useful in the arena, to know my opponents.' Enobaria nodded. 'It's rather useful to know them, Four. You already know the Careers. District 1, 2 and 4 this year?'
He nodded. 'And the girl from 5.' She frowned. District 5 usually were one of the weakest districts, but this year they were strong. 'Enobaria, she is strong. I haven't seen a tribute so good with a sword before, except the Careers of course.'
He didn't mention he liked her. Because of him she was one of the Careers. 'Okay. But be careful with lower districts.' She showed him the tribute parade and zoomed in on the tributes from District 5.
'Four, do you see the boy? He is overprotective. He want to keep her save. I advise you… Kill him first. He will be your greatest worry, if you want her as Career.' He nodded. He already planned to kill this boy. But that would be after the bloodbath. 'I'm going to get ready for training.' He said and walked to his bedroom.
It was quite awkward when he entered the Training Hall with Alicia. She worn bronze, the colour of District 2 and he as in black and blue, just as Kirsten and her district partner. Kirsten came in and looked at him with eyes widened. He grinned and she gave him a small smile, her face red of blush.
Atala told almost the same things as yesterday. The Careers moved as quick as possible to the swordfight area. 'Kirsten, you first.' Beth said. She grabbed a small dragger and in a few minutes she had the instructor pinned on the ground and putted the sword at his throat. With one move she coud have killed him. Impressive. Back in 5 she'd never have used a sword.
Kirsten walked to him and Beth grabbed Alicia's arm. 'Your turn. I bet that I did it quicker than you'll do.' Now she teased him. ' You think so? I'm a trained swordfighter! But I accept this challenge. If I win, you go back to your little friends of District 7.' And if I win…' She patted her mouth. 'You kiss me.'
Alicia was furious. 'FOUR IF YOU DARE TO LOSE FROM THAT GIRL!' The other careers were in the mood for this bet. 'Alright, what was her time?' I asked. '1 minute and 24 seconds.' Fione said. 'Good luck Four, she's good!'
He took the sword Kirsten used. He was ready to do this. He wanted to lose from her. But he also wouldn't lose her. She made this hard. Her time was good. He breathed in and out, preparing himself.
'Are you ready Four?' Beth yelled at him. He nodded and the instructor was ready too. He attacked him. He dodged the instructor's sword and sliced in his direction. This was harder then he expected. But he managed to pin the instructor on the ground. 'And? Who wins?' He asked out of breath.
The other careers stood silent and Kirsten grinned at him, he had lost. 'the time. What was my time?' Fione answered him. '1 minute and 25 seconds… Sorry Four, a bet is a bet. You can't break it.' Alicia tried to get out of Beth's grip. But she wouldn't let her go. He had to kiss her. He couldn't believe he had lost. The best swordfighter of District 2 had lost from a girl. But he wondered if she was a good kisser.
He walked to the girl and looked in her eyes playfully. She smiled at him and he closed his eyes. He leaned to her and his lips touched her soft and gorgeous lips. She reacted the kiss with a deeper and more passionate kiss. God… why was she so perfect? The careers around the cheered and shouted.
He felt her pulling away roughly. She was pulled away by her district partner. He shouted at her. 'ARE YOU CRAZY?! YOU'LL COME WITH ME NOW!' she refused to come with him. 'METT NO! I'M A CAREER AND I'LL BE A CAREER, EVEN IF YOU KILL ME!'
All he heard was the face a hand hitting her face. Alicia shouted at him too. But he couldn't care. He still felt her lips. It was sure. He was in love with that girl.
