Hello my #DancingDarlings. I apologize for the lengths between updates of this story. I started writing a chapter 2 weeks ago and got horrid writer's block. And my Xmas story took over so it's been hard squeezing this in but I did. (Just cuz I love you all SO MUCH.)
So you could do me the BEST favor by leaving me a long and lengthy #JudgesScore at the end. I am also rating this chapter as Pre-M cuz well I kind of got a little hot in here. So you might want to read someplace cool. #JustSaying.
Leave me your #ScoreCard…Me's…

"Chapter 7: Only Human…"
"Excuse me," she gasped. "I think you misunderstood my question Mr. President."
Fitz grinned wickedly. "Oh I beg to differ Miss Pope. You asked me what I wanted and I answered."
She attempted to speak but couldn't. There were no words that were coming into her mind right now. Her mind was utterly blank. "In case you didn't understand my answer because you KNOW us politicians can be so misleading," he teased. "I said that I WANTED YOU."
Olivia's mouth dropped open, as she starred into President Fitzgerald Grant's piercing blue eyes. There was no way he just said what she thought she heard - TWICE. She swallowed hard and felt her pulse quicken as his arms snaked around her body. She blinked quickly and wanted to run for the hills.
"How exactly," she challenged. "Want me, how?"
"Excuse me," Fitz answered in the same joking tone. "I can't be that much out of practice."
"I did tell you that your moves needed help Mr. President," she made another attempt to break free, but failed when he pulled her closer. He heard the playfulness and flirtation in her voice. It caused Fitz great pleasure to know that she was flirting with him.
"My moves," he laughed quietly. "Oh I have some great moves Olivia. I may be out of practice but trust me… I think I still got it." He lowered his voice, that it sent shivers down her spine.
She stifled back a laugh. "What makes you think so," she asked, feeling him closing the distance. Her breathing became labored.
"Because I told you what I wanted. And I am a man that ALWAYS gets what he wants," he paused. He leaned down and whispered into her ear. "And right now the only thing I want is you Olivia." She trembled, feeling his lips just grace her ear. "And I know you want me too."
She swallows quickly. "I can't. We can't do this. It's wrong."
"Then explain to me, why holding you in my arms feels so right – perfect actually. Like it's the only thing that matters" he whispers. Fitz is aware he should not be saying these things, but he can't stop. Watching her dance with Max, only heightened growing feelings for her more.
His close proximity was causing her brain to short circuit and she couldn't think straight. She felt all of him around her body – holding her close. He ran his hands over her lower back, in a side to side motion, gracing her skin lightly. The heat that was radiating off his body was like anything she's ever experienced.
She tried to pull away from him but he wouldn't allow her to break free. Fitz moved a hand to the center of her back. As he stretched it out completely, and she felt his large palm cover her entire back. He then began to walk backwards, as their eyes zoned in on the other. She tried to mouth stop but the next thing she knew her back was against a wall in her dressing room.
She gasped as she felt him totally encase her. He raised a hand to her face, and she instinctually nestled her cheek into his palm. She closed her eyes, and let herself dream that he belonged to her, therefore to each other. In her dream he was not the President, he was normal guy with a great job, and could be her everything.
In her mind she pictured a nice house, kids, cats, and her pregnant with their child. He'd rub her feet when they were hurting, and give her back rubs. He'd occasionally do the dishes and fail at doing the laundry. He accidently washed a red shirt with a white load, turning the entire thing pink, even his dress shirts.
She pictured him coming home from work with flowers, or other sweet things to make her feel loved. Olivia saw them playing on the floor with their children, including the Nina and Bells. She sighed as she felt him press his forehead to hers he began to sway them from side to side.
Then she saw their wedding. He was in a perfectly fitted-tux, his curls slicked back, except for the one that never stayed off his forehead. But for his tux, she insisted he wear a white bow tie, because it would make him stand out. This dream could be real, but she heard his voice, and snapped out of it.
"Let me go," she pleaded.
"Never," Fitz countered without a second thought. His voice was firm, and filled with the job she brought into his life. No one had ever made him feel so in and out of control at the same time. He was the most powerful man in the world, but around her, he felt his world begin to grow smaller. He could start a war. But his feelings for her were bringing out a side of him he didn't think was possible.
"Please," she whimpered, coming apart in his arms. Fitz ran his thumb lightly against her skin, seeing a small smile emerged from her lips. He kept looking down at them, aching to kiss her. He yearned to get lost in their warmth; would they be as soft as he imagined?
Could her lips mold perfectly against his own; is there such a thing as a perfect kiss?
Would the strong connection he feels now, only deepen? His cheek tingled for days, after her kiss two weeks ago.
"Look at me," he pleaded. She could hear the tenderness in his voice. His hand began to rub circles on her back, to calm her. She finally placed her hands on his chest, and felt his well-defined pectoral muscles underneath her tiny hands. Olivia felt his breathing match hers, and as she open her own eyes, he closed his.
As she moved her hands up and down along Fitz's chest, his heart rate subsided. His breathing slowed and his entire body began to relax. She saw a smile emerge on his lips she swore if it was any bigger it could have lit the room. Everything about this man oozed sexuality, and masculinity. He obviously worked out and took care of his body.
While she was massaging his chest, she let her eyes travel down. She felt this pull to wrap herself around Fitz allowing him to hold her, and to be held. Something made her believe that he gave the warmest hugs, and could make her feel safe.
Safe from the critics if she failed on the dance floor; she failed them countless times proving that just maybe she was not cut out to be a dancer.
Safe from being a disappointment to Max; winning this thing with him? He had always been there pushing, giving her confidence that they indeed were a team. Max never doubted that he was dancing with the best. He knows it. He told her all the time but could she win this competition? It would be a dream come true for her.
Safe from her father's wrath, and misgivings; she knew what he ONLY wanted from her. He groomed her to be the best; to BEAT best. Her father wanted her involved with politics so he could wiggle himself further into that circle. He was never this way when her mother lived, losing her changed him. Now if he were to discover her possible relationship "thing" with the President of the United States, her life would be over.
Would he protect her? Could Fitzgerald Thomas Grant III keep her safe from the person, who could ruin her with one look? Was HE the only man in the world that could save her? Olivia was not the girl someone saved. She did not want to be anyone's charity case. She pushed her way through college making sure she didn't need anyone to survive.
She ate, lived- breathed dancing. It was her hallelujah, heroine, and reason to get out of bed in the morning. All of her LOVED dancing, and with her studio she had no time for a man in her life. She didn't want, nor need a man in her life, coming along and messing things up.
She felt tears in her eyes, and closed them. She could NOT cry in front of Fitz. Gladiators do not cry, it was not allowed. Before she could stop it, a lone tear cascaded down her cheek. Fitz hand was still there, as the tear wetted his skin. He opened his eyes to find her looking down.
He felt him rest his cheek on top of her head. He removed his hands briefly from her back and placed them over hers on his chest. She closed her eyes again, as she felt Fitz move remove them from his chest and snake them around his torso. He planted her hands on his back, and he slowly encased her in his arms.
Olivia began to whimper, allowing herself to be held. No one was EVER allowed to hug her, hold her close. Max 'hugged' her but it was NOT like this. Fitz felt her body tensin, and began to whisper "Shhh" in her ear. He was holding her as if she was his life line. Her body was bringing him back to into the light.
Fitz didn't know what was wrong. "I've got you."
She froze hearing his voice. His voice was calm, collected, and melted her heart. She smiled against his chest, and without realizing it she began to hold him tighter. He felt her need to be protected grow. He began to wonder, who or what she was afraid of. He whispered on top of her head, "I won't hurt you. I promise to keep you safe…," he paused. "Always."
She nodded "no" against his wet shirt. "I'm a man with an awful lot of power Olivia. Most women I think find that attractive," raising his voice in an attempt to relax her. And that was when he heard a tiny little laugh escape against his body. He felt her lean her forehead against his chest, to stabilize herself.
"Just know that I've got you okay. I have your back and that WE can do this; together," and that was when she finally looked up. Desperately wanting to believe him, she gazed deep into his blue eyes. She had been close to him during their dance before, but she did not allow herself to gaze into his eyes like this.
His eyes were this blue; a blue like the ocean , crystal clear waters shimmering, churning, and crashing against her soft brown eyes. His eyes, you swore you could hear the waves crashing against the sea wall, and foam flying into the air. This man's eyes were blue, like the sky before the sun descended into the night sky, which dark rich indigo, and specks of color here and there.
Fitz's eyes captivated her. It made her feel like he was memorizing every part of her face. When she danced earlier, and now rooting her in place unable to look away. When she peered into his frozen irises, an electrical chill ran down her spin, numbing her body. She was unable to respond to anything but this man before her. His eyes just don't capture the light; they defy it making her feel open and exposed.
/
"Say it…"
"This," she questioned, still looking into his eyes.
He smiled. "Ah huh," pulling her closer.
"As in," she squeaked. Did he want her to teach him to dance, or was it more?
"After all this you still can't tell what I want," he gave her this drop dead adorable grin, making her giggle in his arms.
Shrugging her shoulders up and down, she answered. "Say it," and she was able to break free. She walked to the other side of the room, and leaned her hand on her vanity. Her costume was still on and so was all her makeup. "Mr. President," she voiced with authority.
His stance changed, and she saw the most sinister look on his face. He took off his jacket and hung it on her changing screen and began to walk in her direction. She watched in awe as he moved towards her, rolling up his sleeves, like he was going into battle.
"Now that like say it again," he commanded. The dropping off his voice caused a huge wave of butterflies in her stomach. It felt like she had an entire flock of them inside her. "You just made me sound like a gym teacher."
She began to back away, going around a chair in the corner of the room. His stare so intense, she almost couldn't breathe. ANY doubts on what he wanted, just washed away by the look in his eyes. Her body was on fire, as he closed in. She swallowed quickly, and felt her heart rate begin to increase.
"I asked you to say it first," she countered, in a flirtatious voice. She kept backing away, knowing if he caught her, she be done in the water.
"But I'm the Commander and Chief of the Armed Forces," he said next. "I am in charge."
"Not in this room you're not, Lover Boy," which caused Fitz to let out a huge belly laugh. His smile was huge, and reached beyond his eyes. Then she dropped her voice, lacing it with so much heat, she hoped it would be his undoing. "You want me…SAY IT."
He braced himself, feeling his need for her grow. She is by far the sexiest, most beautiful woman he'd ever encountered. He was so enraptured by her every move, word, touch, and scent he couldn't think straight. The only thing in his mind was getting her – back in his arms where she made him whole, healed and alive.
Abby, and Andrew made him see the error in his ways of allowing her to slip through his fingers. Bellamy wanted him to be happy. He would NEVER stop loving her. She gave him his greatest two gifts, Cristina and Isabelle. He would love her forever for his twin girls. But this gorgeous woman had him whopped. The scary thing was she knew it, and was taking full advance of it.
"You first," he approached her, picking up his pace.
Her eyes widened. "No," challenging him further. If he wanted to play this cat and mouse game with her, she was going to win. "My dressing room, MY RULES- the sooner you realize that Mr. President," adding the hint of seduction in her voice he was looking for. "The sooner you GET what you want."
Then in an instant she stopped moving, placed her hand on her hips and stared at him. The intensity of her eyes locking on to his stopped him dead in his tracks. Her eyes sparkled like the sunlight shining through his favorite scotch or morning coffee with flecks of mocha latte. They had him mesmerized, unable to move, breath, or react. She began to walk towards him, making Fitz swallow hard.
"What do you think I want Sweet Baby," hoping to derail her movements towards him. The sway in her hips, matched her every move. Her costume flowed beautifully around her body leaving him entranced. A wicked smile graced her lips, as he saw his body shiver as she got closer to him.
"Sweet Baby," she countered, dropping her voice even lower, turning Fitz on. "So I'm the one huh."
Fitz raised his eyes. "I don't know are you," if she wanted to play this game, he was going to turn the table on her. "The one for what exactly is the question. You want me to say it. Say what exactly?" If she could play hard to get then so could he.
Then in an instant she was in front of him. She grabbed a hold of his tie, and yanked him into her body. Fitz was so stunned at her quick gesture his mind went blank. His eyes grew wide as her hands slid up his chest, feeling every part of his physique. He was so turned on, it felt as if it was about to be his first time with a woman. Not even when he was a teenager did he feel like this around a girl.
Instantly she felt his body's reaction to her, as his lower torso pressed against her. His hands slithered around her waist. Then quickly he gained control of the situation and spun her around. Her back was now firmly pressed against his hardened chest feeling the full effects she has on his body.
"Fuck," she voiced out loud, causing a silent chuckle from Fitz.
"You want me to say it right," she nodded, as he began to lower his head till he knew she could feel his hot breath just above the skin on her neck. His lips lingered to taste her succulent skin. One taste of her delicious flesh would ruin him for any other.
He coiled his arms further around her body, underneath the blue sheer of her costume. His hands firmed placed themselves over her stomach, covering it entirely. In an attempt to dwindle the passion she was creating, Fitz closed his eyes and lazily placed his chin on her shoulder. He moved her hair to the side, and allowed her scent to penetrate into his lungs. Her smell was like nothing on this earth, relaxing and calming him instantly.
His breathing slowed, and Olivia's followed. "Teach me Olivia," he whispered sweetly into her ear, allowing his lips to gently brush against her skin. "I can't dance without you."
"Fitz," she mouths silently out without a thought. He sees the movement of her lips and realizes it. It felt natural, right for her to be informal, but she didn't know why.
"Almost, say it again," he pleaded. The need in his voice was unmistakable. "Say my name."
"That would be inappropriate," she contradicts immediately. She feels the silent chuckle of his body holding her. She inadvertently leans her head back against his shoulder, exposing her neck further to his lips.
"Then by all means, let's be improper. After all I think we are well past the 'President Grant' shit don't you think," challenging her. He hears her silent laugh, and smiles against her skin. "Now teach me Livy," she melts as she hears her nickname.
"Teach you to what," she playfully answers. "I teach more than just dance you know."
"Olivia, don't play this game with me," he chastises. "If you haven't figured out by now that I need you more than just to dance, I need to up this level of foreplay."
She began to giggle uninhibited against him. No man had ever made her feel so carefree, not even Max, and it made her feel good. "Foreplay huh," she teased. "I've had better."
"Oh once you've been Fitz'd, there ain't no going back," causing her to laugh.
With that comment he turned her back around and scooped her up. She felt both of his entire arms on her back. He slid her down, allowing her to feel every aspect of his body. He wanted her to feel every muscle, bone underneath his clothes. Her arms spread across his shoulders and found their way to the base of his neck. He raised his eyes, as Fitz began to feel her fingers in his curls.
"Please teach me to dance," he asked in the perhaps most hopeful voice. "There will be NO cameras, NO judges, just you and me. If I'm too much, then you can back out. But I know without a shadow of a doubt that you Olivia Pope are the only one that can save me. You know you want to. If you didn't, this little song and dance of ours wouldn't have gone this far already."
He saw her smirk. "Are you sure," he heard the uncertainty in her voice. "I can't do THIS with you if you aren't. I've failed at so much already. Failing you would be too much. I can't have the entire world know that I taught you to dance and it doesn't work."
With those words and slowly walked them over to the plush chair in her room sat gently sat her down. Fitz then knelt before her. Here was the more powerful man in the world on his knees before her, a dance teacher.
"Do you trust me?"
"I guess so," she voiced with just as much insecurity.
"Okay do you trust yourself to see this through with me no matter if I break your toes or not," he added for good measure. Fitz then saw the sweetest smile grace her lips, making him melt on the spot.
"You BEST NOT break my toes MISTER," she bit her lip, in a vain attempt to hide her nervousness. "I'll break you, if you try." He instantly smiled, hearing the strong dancer emerge. "I don't want to get hurt. You don't know WHO I am."
"I don't care," he instantaneously replied. "Your father, if that is who you are worried about, could be my mortal enemy. I am telling you that I don't care." She tried to protest, but he stopped her again. "You and I can do this together. All you have to do is give me…no us the chance."
"Us," she questioned.
"Yes us," he voiced with conviction. He knew what he was saying, and it didn't matter. He wanted there to be an us; for her to be his and no other. The mere thought of Olivia with another man made Fitz sick to his stomach.
/
"Don't know what you're talking about…"
Olivia then got up and moved away from him. He stood up and watched her walk away. She leaned against the back wall and stared at him. "They're can't be an us," she interjected. He tried to speak but she stopped him. "Despite what you think it happening between us, there just can't be."
He felt his heart break but he wouldn't give up that easily. The overwhelming urge to be close to her again began to take hold. He began to walk in her direction. "Tell me why?"
"Because it can't happen," she protested. "You're President of the United States and I am JUST a dancer."
He paced quickened as he approached her. She raised her eyes and began to realize there was no place she could go. He saw her wanting to make a quick escape. Before she could do anything, he was in front her, towering over her small body. The heat she felt coming off his massive frame, started to become her undoing.
"Please don't," she begged, closed her eyes and turned away from him. "I don't know what you think is happening between us but it not real."
"I don't think Livy, I know. You feel this too." He cupped her face in between his large hands, making her moan. "I feel how you respond to me, and I – you. If you felt nothing for me I'd let this go. But I know otherwise. You can't dance your way out of this."
"Please," she implored, feeling her body wanting to give into his touch.
His next words rooted her in place and she was unable to move away from him. "Is it because you feel disloyal to Max for wanting me in a way, you never did him."
She met his eyes. "I don't know what you're talking about."
She broke free and attempted to walk away, but he was right behind her. He grasped her hand, and turned her to around. "Oh I think you do."
"I don't have time for this," her wall was beginning to go back and he needed to stop it from happening.
"Then answer me this Olivia. Why didn't you do so well last week? Why were you having problems in rehearsal with Max? How come when I showed up tonight, everything clicked into place," he challenged.
"I am not answering that," she broke free of his hold and walked away. She crossed her arms and looked out the closed blinds of her window. "You have no idea what you are talking about. All you saw out there was the character I was playing. I was Lois Lane waiting for Superman to show up and save her."
"You're lying," he felt his frustration levels growing. "I know what I saw. You were waiting and watching for me, just like I had been doing the same. Abby told you the truth. I watched you on the TV studying your every movement. Last week you were off your game, unlike the week prior when I was in attendance. This week you hit your performance out of the park. You wowed the judges and even yourself."
"Whatever," she sneered, but inside she knew he was right. She couldn't admit it though. "I don't know what you saw but that was not it."
"What I saw was the MOST beautiful woman I have ever met in my entire life come alive on the dance floor. Not only did she bring herself out the darkness but she brought me into the light – her light. Her beauty, grace, poise and eyes woke a part of me up that died when I lost my wife." He moved closer to her so their bodies were practically touching. "And what I don't understand is why just moments ago she allowed me to comfort her, and now she's pretending that it didn't happen. Why are you pretending not to feel anything at all?"
"I can't do this…I won't do this to you," she murmured. "My life is complicated, messy, and my family is worse than the Soprano's," causing Fitz to smile. He slowly approached her, allowing her to feel his chest rise and fall behind her body.
"Olivia," he voiced just above a whisper.
She turned and tried to move pasted him but he wouldn't budge. She finally looked up in his eyes. "I can't teach you. You just think you feel those things. Whatever you 'think' you're feeling for me isn't real. Whatever this is between us is just your overactive imagination. I am JUST a teacher."
"You are not JUST a teacher. You are so much more to me than that and don't you dare think otherwise," he voiced with conviction.
"But that's what you don't understand. I can't be ANYTHING more. I love your daughters, and I will be there teacher, but I can't teach you if…" she stopped when his hands touched her face.
"Livy you just didn't happen to me," he lowered his head and his nose was pressed against her face. "I can't dance without you."
"I need to go," she whimpered.
"No. Teach me Olivia," he begged, as his face hovered dangerously close. She could feel his breath on her face.
"You need to go. I am sure Nina, Bells are wondering what happened to you," she reasoned.
"It doesn't matter. I am the President of the United States and they wait for me, not the other way around," he lowered his voice, and rubbed his fingers on her lips. She was beginning to crumble in his arms. His touch was overwhelming. She couldn't think with him this close. Yes she wanted to teach him. That wasn't the problem, it was everything else.
"Please go," slowly coming apart in his arms.
"Teach," he kissed her left cheek.
"Me," he whispered kissing her right cheek, as her breathing began to increase.
"To dance," he then left a lingering kiss on her forehead, causing her to lose her balance in his arms. He felt her legs give out and caught her before she slid to the floor. He stood her up, and lazily placed his hands on her cheeks.
"Livy," he moaned as he began to close the space between their faces. He longed to kiss her. It has been on his mind since the moment he saw her. Her eyes widened as she saw his eyes dart down to her lips. She licked them, showing just the tip of her tongue. It only caused Fitz to want to kiss her even more.
He swallowed quickly and began to close the space between them. As he got closer, her breathing increased as his lips sought out her own. Soon she felt the tickle of his hot breath on her face, and his nose lightly grazed her cheek. As his lips were a fraction away for closing the final distance, they heard a knock at door.
She moaned as he held her still, unwilling to let her go. They didn't answer and heard Abby outside calling their names.
"Don't let her in," he didn't want anyone in there them.
"I don't want your agents coming in thinking I did something to you," she moved away and went to open her door. Fitz began to calm himself down and she straightened herself out. Olivia opened the door and let Abby inside. She looked at both of them, and she knew she just interrupted something BIG.
/
Only Human…
"Excuse me Sir," Abby said looking at them both. Both looked extremely flushed and overheated. "But it's time to go. Nina and Bells are wearing out Max and he's looking for Liv."
"Tell him I'll be right there. I need to change. The President and I got wrapped," she stopped unsure of what to say.
"Up in each other," he voiced with authority, causing Olivia to blush instantly.
Abby shot a glance at her friend, knowing exactly what he meant. "We were in the midst of discussing things."
"Ah huh," Abby said watching them both. The attempts they were making to calm down were not working because she knew both so well.
"Nothing to worry about right," Fitz commented looking at Olivia.
"Right," she answered back.
He placed his hands in his pockets and stared at her. She felt uncomfortable and turned around beginning to take off her jewelry. He looked to Abby and she opened the door for him to leave the room. "Thank you Olivia for a heated discussion."
He was still playing the game and she knew it. "Anytime."
"Remember what I said, I am ready for you to teach me. I'll you have to do is show up. I promise to be your best student," his voice was firm. She could hear his sincerity.
"I feel it's best if I don't Sir. But if I change my mind, I'll be sure to contact Abby," Olivia explained looking at the shocked expression on her face. Olivia saw the heartbreak on his face.
Abby's mouthed dropped open. "What are you nuts for turning him down again," she said out loud before she could stop herself.
"Abby that's enough," Fitz wanted her to calm down.
She faced him. "Sir, can we have a minute? Tom is waiting for you. He'll bring you back to the girls."
"Behave Abigail," he called her by her full name but she didn't care. He walked up to Olivia and lightly placed his hand on her face. She looked up into his eyes and nuzzled into his hand, all with Abby watching. "Come and teach me please Livy," were his final words. He leaned over and kissed her cheek. She gasped feeling his lips on her skin, and he left the room.
Olivia was over heated and looked at Abby. "Don't start Abby."
"Are we really going to go there? What the hell Liv? He's ready for lessons and you are still saying no. What the HELL is the matter with you," raising her voice.
"I need to change Abby," she took off the light blue sheer piece of her costume. "I am not discussing this with you." She let her go behind the partition in the room to change and when she came out she was all ready to go. Abby stood there staring at her, ready for battle. "What?"
"You are a hypocrite," she sneered.
"Excuse me," Olivia said getting her jacket and purse.
"You give me shit all the time for not taking chances. I did with David and got hurt," Abby mumbled. "I get that he's the President of the United States but whether you like it or not you need him just as much as he needs you."
Olivia looked at her. "What happened with you and David?"
"We are not discussing me right now," Abby turned around because she didn't want to talk about it. She had meant to tell her but didn't have the time and it still hurt. Olivia walked up behind her and touched her shoulder.
Abby turned around. "I am going to hug you," Olivia said to her, and when she did Abby broke apart in her arms. "What happened?"
"I caught him cheating on me. I don't know who it was but I caught them in the act when I went over to his place. I know I didn't spend as much time with him as I should have but," Abby explained.
"This is not your fault. He's just jerk for not keeping it in his pants."
"Yah I guess," Abby sniffled. "Look I am sorry I yelled at you but HE really needs you."
"Abby you know this is wrong," trying to explain.
"Then explain to me why for the first time in your life, you danced better than you ever have. Tell me it's not because of Fitz," Olivia almost had to look away and swallowed quickly. "I know you have feelings for him."
"Abby you are mistaken," Olivia mumbled out. "I can't. If my father were to find out…"
"Your father can kiss my ass," Abby shot back. "You have to stop worrying about what he'll do to you. You have not spoken to him in years. I know you still talk to your step mom but you cannot keep worrying. Plus if he comes back into your life, he is no match for the Leader of the Free World."
"You know how I feel about politics Abby. How I struggled to get away from it. I don't want this life," she grumbled in frustration placing her jacket on.
"I get that Liv. But maybe, don't you think that you were meant to be more than just a dancer. You have this undeniable connection to Fitz. And as strange as it sounds, he you. Whether you realize it, you already changed him for the better. He needs you."
"Abby," she whimpered.
"Look you need to think about what's really important. Living in fear of your father or following your heart," Olivia raised her eyes. "The heart wants what it wants Liv. And whether either one of you like it or not, you breath in sync. Stop running away from this – from him, and run to him. I know you are afraid to fail."
"If I fail at this Abby it could ruin both our careers and a lot of people's lives," Olivia explained.
"You once told me before taking this job as the White House Chief of Staff that I am only human. That I will laugh, fall down, and make mistakes. When I fell, I would bleed, and feel broken. But that is what makes us human. In all my weaknesses and misgivings about doing this job, it would make me stronger. I could be HIS right hand, and do the job well."
"This is different," making an effort to correct her.
"No it's not. It took a lot of courage and soul searching for Fitz to come here tonight and see you. Even more I suspect to try to explain how you've changed him. In the last two weeks, I've seen him change from the grieving widower, to a man with a purpose. With your help, he can realize the man I know he's destined to be. He's human just like you," Abby took her hands.
"I know he is," Olivia whimpered.
"And you are human too. I know you are afraid to fail him, but he's just as petrified. He's been 'alone' in a sense since losing his wife. Fitz does not want to make any mistakes and lure you into something neither one of you are ready for. But I've seen the way you look at each other and he needs you. Olivia you just have to accept it."
"Do you know what you're asking me," she was on the precipice of tears.
"I do. THIS will not be easy. You are going to fight, argue, and probably want to break his toes. But the more effort you put into his lessons, I can see it changing you. The harder you push The President; he'll give it to you back just as hard. I know you can do this Liv. All you have to do is believe you can," Abby sweetly said. "Think about it."
"Abby…"
"Think about it. This is a once and a lifetime opportunity. Don't let your fears stand in the way of you possibility finally finding the happiness you deserve. These lessons with him could be the start of some extraordinary," Abby then opened her door and waited for her.
Olivia began to walk by her when she saw Fitz's jacket. She went back to grab it and immediately smelt his cologne. She rubbed her fingers lightly over the material and Abby looked on and grinned. "What," Olivia looked at her smiling.
"Nothing," Abby snickered as they walked out of the room. The two ladies entered the ball room, and saw everyone talking. Olivia noticed how the Vice President straightened up when Abby entered the room. How he tried not to pay attention to her. Olivia nudged her, and Abby pretended not to notice.
"Not now," Abby whispered as they grew closer.
"Those in glass houses should not throw rocks," Olivia said to her loud enough for her to hear. Abby gave her a death glare, but she always thought the VP had a thing for her. Now that she wasn't with anyone it was no longer an issue but she was not ready for a relationship.
Nina and Bells ran into Olivia's arms, and she hugged them both. "Livy, can you come over for ice cream? Daddy and Uncle Andrew say it's okay."
"I can't tonight," knowing it would be at the White House. "I am sure I'd be a pain to get me cleared through security."
"Livy Daddy is the President. He can get you in and out with no one even knowing you were there," Nina piped up.
"Most girls would find that HOT," Bells said next, causing Fitz to turn beat red. Andrew chuckled, enjoying watching his godchildren fuss over Olivia.
"Oh girls I can't," Olivia hated to turn them down but she couldn't.
Max went up to the girls. "Ladies Livy is awfully tired tonight. But maybe at your next dancing lesson at the studio we can do ice cream. You would SERIOUSLY not believe how much ice cream she has there. Maybe she'll even share her favorite flavor with you."
The girl's faces beamed. "Really?"
"Yes Ladies really," Max said to the kids and winked.
Max got up, wrapped his arm around Olivia, and placed a kiss on her head. It caused Olivia to blush. She glanced up at Fitz and saw his clenched jaw, his blue eyes darken, and the tips of his ears turn pink. The intensity of his eye contact sent a shiver down her spine, and she visibly jumped.
"You okay Gorgeous," Max asked.
"I'm fine Max," she wanted to say his knick name but didn't think it was a good idea. Max told her that he needed to speak to Cyrus and James about their next number and then he'd would go and get the car, so he could bring her home. She nodded and watched him walk off.
As they walked out to the cars, the Secret Service made sure everything was clear. Abby was up with Andrew and the kids, leaving Fitz and Olivia walking together. Both watched Andrew and Abby knowing that they definitely had a thing for the other.
Fitz finally noticed that she had his jacket. "Wait isn't that mine," he playfully asked as they made it his motorcade.
"Oh you left it in my dressing room," she replied as they stopped walking. He stood in front of her and she helped him put it on. She rubbed her hands on his shoulders, and straightened it out on his chest. He watched her hands do up the buttons, flatten out his tie. She looked up and realized his hands were on her hips. It felt so natural, she didn't realize it.
"There," she looked up at him.
"Perfect," Fitz said to her rubbing his thumb lightly over her face. She knew he was not talking about his jacket. As she began to pull away, he drew her back and nuzzled his forehead to hers. Everything about this woman affected him, and he could not let her go. His arms snaked around her, blocking out the giggles from the girls in the car.
"Just kiss her Daddy," Nina bellowed, causing both of them to snicker. "You know you want to."
"And Livy wants you too," Bells piped up, making both of them blush more.
"Seriously you too just need to get it on," Nina blurted out, causing the agents to stifled back laughs on the sides of the car. Andrew and Abby were in the car with the kids, laughing.
"Oh my heavens," Olivia said, feeling her cheeks turning red. She finally looked up and saw the unmistakable smile on his face. It was a smile she'd knew he'd only give to her. "Your kids are too much."
"I know," he groaned, but realizing it was time for him to go. "I should go."
"You should go," feeling his grasp on her tighten.
"I'll see you soon," Fitz told her. "Remember you and I can do this; together." He saw a faint smile grace her lips. She thought about Abby's words and placed her hand on his face. He let out a sigh as they blocked everything about and just looked at each other.
"Goodbye Livy," he murmured finally letting her go.
She reached up and cupped his other cheek. She got up on her toes and kissed him lightly on the cheek. The kiss was quick and she immediately pulled away from him before he could respond. His entire face relaxed and she heard him sigh. He opened his eyes and braced himself against the car.
"Goodbye Fitz," she whimpered out and took off. He watched her disappear inside the building.
He got inside the car, with his heart still pounding from the encounter. The girls sat next to him, and cuddled into their father's sides. "Don't let her get away Daddy," Bells said to her father.
"Yah Dad don't lose her," Nina added for good measure. "You'd be a total ding-bat if you did."
The girls comments made Fitz laugh. "I have no plans on it girls."
As the car began to drive slowly away Andrew asked the driver to stop. "What are you doing," Fitz asked.
"Are you really not going to do anything," Andrew chastised him.
"Andrew, come on not now," Fitz rolled his eyes but Abby knew what he meant. " I just can't."
"Seriously yes you can," Andrew insisted.
"Um no," Fitz crossed his arms with the girls looking at him wondering what was going on.
"Fine, it's your loss but she's coming out. Max isn't there yet. If I were you I'd make your move," Andrew lightly kicked Fitz's foot. Fitz turned back and saw Olivia texting on her cell phone. She looked happy. He knew what she told him, but felt otherwise.
He looked back at Andrew feeling the butterflies in his stomach return. He bit his lip contemplating his next move. Abby then said to him, "If you let this opportunity slip away, you could regret it for the rest of your life. Prove to her that you won't hurt her. Show Liv, that you are all in," she explained.
"Show her you can give her the moon and back," Andrew smiled and nodded, hoping to give him the encouragement he needed.
He swallowed quickly. "Tom I'm getting out."
"Yes Sir," Tom said and opened his door. He stepped out and bolted out of the car to Olivia.
Olivia was looking on her phone when she turned, and saw him coming to her with a look of determination, her heart about stopped in her chest. "What are you doing? Get back in your car," she tried to reason before he reached her.
But Fitz kept coming. Her eyes widened. "Are you crazy? I said go back to your…" she was halted in her words when he finally made it, taking her face in her hands. Her hands flew up in the air, as he quickly leaned down and captured her lips. She gasped out loud as she felt the world disappear. Everything fell out her hands, and she placed them on Fitz's face.
Time all of sudden stopped and stood still. He didn't care that Cyrus and James could come outside and see them, or Max could show up. In this moment it was just Fitz and Olivia. No other dancers, no kids, just them.
With his lips firmly placed against hers, both their bodies flushed with heat. The warmth traveled through their veins, warming both from the bottom up. Both felt a rush of euphoric bliss surround them, causing their hearts to beat in sync. Fitz felt like he was walking on air, as his lips moved against Olivia's.
Her mouth was warm, tasting like honey. The caress of her lips was softer than he ever thought possible. He opened his mouth and lazily stuck his tongue inside seeking hers for contact. The moment they touched, he picked her up off the ground and walked her to the back wall. They dueled for dominance, daring the other to go deeper and harder. His breathing quickened as she ran her fingers through his rich thick curls.
"Livy," he groaned, not wanting to stop. If this is what heaven felt like, there was no way he'd let anyone have her - ever. Her heart fluttered in her chest, like a delicate butterfly wanting to take its first flight. His arms encircled her, pulling her further into his chest, like he was protecting her from the world.
When they broke apart both instantly missed the heat that curled within them. They looked into each other eyes blushing. Fitz placed her shaky legs down. She realized her shoes had come off. She grinned as he rested his forehead against hers, gathering some much needed oxygen into his body. The bashful smirk she gave him, told him everything he needed to know.
She ran her hands over his chest and swallowed quickly. She felt his muscles flex under his coat, as she graced her fingers across him. Her mind was complete mush as he held her face in his hands. Her body was shaking, not believing that she was just more than thoroughly kissed by the President of the United States. She heard cackling from the kids, Andrew and Abby and sunk her head into his chest.
"Olivia got FITZED," she heard Abby yell. Her cheeks heated up more, and was just as embarrassed.
She lifted her head, and saw the sweetest smile emerge on his face. "What?"
"Why did you kiss me," she whimpered, still in his arms. "Like that. Here? Now?"
"Because I wanted you to know that I am all in. Not just for the dancing, for it all. You are going to be my dance teacher Olivia and so much more. All you have to do is say yes," he sweetly told her. "Now you know where my heart lies," and he bent down her put her shoes back on, causing her to blush.
She swallowed quickly. "This is wrong."
"After a first kiss like that, feeling so right- this is NOT wrong. Stop trying to fix it - us. I am fixing things now and I will see you Sunday for my first lesson."
"But," and he kissed her again, shocking her more.
"No buts. I will send a car for you and my schedule will be cleared. I can get you into the White House without anyone knowing. Most girls I think would find that a turn on. So get ready to get your dance on Sweet Baby because I am coming for you," he released her, and began to walk back to her car leaving her stunned.
"Are you crazy," she said to him.
"Considered it handled," he yelled and winked. "You are the one," as he made it to the car, with the agents clapping, making him blush.
"Fitz" she called his name in bated breath. He stood there staring at her. She looked so beautiful with her thoroughly kissed lips and messed up hair and makeup.
"Navy men don't give up," he winked. "I always have a card left to play," he shouted. He then got inside the motorcade to claps, hoots and hollers. He looked at Abby, Andrew and the kids. "What?"
"I think she liked being "Fitzed," Andrew said messing with him.
"Fitzed," Fitz grumbled back. "Oh Lord."
"I like President McDreamy," Abby threw in for good measure.
"Okay enough you too," he threw something at both to quite them. Andrew and Abby cracked up laughing at his expense along with the kids.
"It looks like our Commander and Chief has Superpowers," making Fitz groan even more. He told the driver to go and they headed back to the White House.
