Little Allen woke up in an unfamiliar room. It took a few minutes for his sleepy mind to recall what had happened and how he had gotten there. He remembered the kind man that had given this room. Allen remembered his name, Mana Walker. Pulling back the thin blanket, Allen swung his small feet over to the side of the bed and made contact with cold stone floor of the small room. Allen shivered slightly, but forced himself to make his way over to the wooden door. Once opened, he saw Mana sitting on a stool by the work table reading a large book. Upon hearing the creaking of the door, Mana looked up a warm smile spread across his face when he saw the small white haired boy. Large gray eyes stared at him, he took note of the pentacle mark that slashed through his left eye as his magical mark. His own mark was on the inside of his left ankle, some marks just were not as obvious as the boy's mark.
"Good morning, Allen," Mana said with a warm smile
Allen n found himself returning it with shy smile. 'Morning, Mana."
"I had some clothing brought up for you while you were asleep." Mana then got up and went to a pile of clothes that was laying on another table. He handed them to Allen, who walked back into his small room. He changed into the a small dark navy blue trouser and a gray tunic. They hung loosely off his small frame, but then again Allen was rather small for his age. The clothing was made out of very fine material, instead of the scratchy wool made clothes that Allen grown up with. The king obviously wanted his new pet sorcerer to dress above peasants. He then pulled on the soft socks and nicely made brown boots. After he was done he reentered the main room of his new teacher's courters.
Mana looked up at Allen with another warm smile. He chuckled softly as he saw the little too big clothing on Allen. 'I guess I need to get the royal tailor to get you exact measure, those were the smallest clothes I could fine that the King approved. His majesty loathes when those he considers worth to him dress like peasants." At the mention of the king fear seeped into Allen's childish features.
Mana frowned slightly at this. He kneeled down in front of the small white haired boy and gazed into those fearful; gray eyes. "Allen, I know that you have every reason to fear the king, after he took everything from you, but you must not let this fear control you. No matter what happens you must always keep walking forward. You must never look back, for the past can never be changed no matter how much you wish it. Your family would want you to be brave and live a life where even in the darkest of moments you can always find the flicker of hope. You must promise me that you will never let fear take away your hope."
Unwillingly tears had begun to form in Allen's eyes. However, he still managed to whisper, "I promise to keep hopeful."
"Good boy, now come we must got to the palace library to begin you education, and remember you will be taught along with the king's daughter, so no matter always show her respect, bow to her when you first see her." Allen nodded and followed his teacher out of his courters, down the twisty staircase, and down a dark hallway. Allen noticed the servant who passed Mana, actually smiled, some would even say hello. It was clear that the king's healer was well liked by the castle's serving staff. Mana would return each gesture or word with one of his own and continue on his way. Some noticed the small white haired boy following Mana. Some would whisper when they were far enough where either Mana or Allen could not hear. They finally arrived at a grand wooden door that was opened up by two palace guards revealing a large room filled with numerous books and scrolls. Allen had never seen so many books in his life. The most he ever seen was the small collection Lavi's grandfather. There were many tables with scholars of all shapes and sizes peering into varous pieces of infromation, some were writing down notes as they read. There was one luxurous looking table that looked to be made out of silver and gold There was throne like chair set by it and in it sat a young girl of seemingly 12 years old with purple hair, violet eyes, and pale skin. She wore a silk violet dress with white ribbons. On top of her head was small golden crown decorated with many jewels. It was clear to Allen that she was the crowned princess. The evil king's daughter Road Kamelot. Her violet eyes held the same amount evil covered by a fake sweet smile. Allen could feel darkness roll off her in waves much like her father. Everyone seemed to be avoiding her devilish eyes.
Mana made his way over to her without a hint of fear in his friendly features, while Allen silently slipped behind the tall man.
Once they were across from her Mana bowed and forced Allen to do the same with a slight nudge in the side. Allen slipped into a shakey bow.
'My lady, your father has requested to teach young Allen to read and write while you continue with your own studies."
Those terrible violet eyes slowly gazed at Allen in a way that made Allen want to throw up. The the most terrible smile spread across her childish features as she slowly got up from her small throne and made her way over to them. It took all of Allen's courage not to run and hide. Then without a warning Allen was brought into a bone crushing hug as the girl squealed. "Oh my God, you are so adorable, I could just eat you up!" Everyone turned briefly at the commotion but quickly turned away when the princess glared at them over Allen's head.
She finally release him and smirked down at him. "You are my new playmate. You have to do everything I say or you will get in trouble with daddy." Allen gulped but slowly nodded, still to scared to speak. Mana decided to rescue the boy who had just damned to a even crueler fate. It was well known that the princess had an awful habit of breaking her playmates. The only difference with Allen was that the other playmates were just children of servants, while Allen was in favor of the King so perhaps that will save Allen from the same fate.
'Your highness, we must start with your studies but later you may play with Allen but he has to be feed lunch and dinner so please bring him back my rooms later," Mana offered with a smile.
Road looked at him and with a calculative look before another sickly sweet smile covered her features. "Of course, Mana Walker, but as princess I order that Allen is moved in with me into my servant courters and I will feed, clothe, and take care of him. My father has informed me that Allen is very special. I loved how Allen toasted that guard with just his magic. Too bad I was busy riding my horse that I missed something so exciting. I bet his screams were like music."
'Your highness, I will do as you command but please allow me to ask your father for permission," Mana said with a fake yet warm smile, trying to act as if he never heard the last comment.
"Daddy never denies me anything," as she said this she looked down at Allen like cat would look at a mouse. "I always get what I want."
